Island Combat Championship (352k+)

After waiting a few days and noticing no one bothering to make a fight org (probably due to them not having VIP or already full company slots) on the island, i've decided to use my free company slot to finally open an Island org. Send your island fighter contracts and ill get back to you with the best contract I can do. Also looking for some graphics for the org to be done, PM Bob Dole in game and we can discuss pricing if possible.

Yeah probably not a big deal for ID Restrictions since all fighters are new and started creating the same time. I thought you just started another fight org not long ago and some other managers tossed you some cash to make it work?

Yep! I ran it up until someone offered me 400k for it. I do regret it, but upwards and onwards I guess.

ICC 1 Preview

Island Combat Championship in partnership with Paradigm-$60 are proud to announce the first Island Combat Championship (351k+) in what is hoped to become a regular Island event . Being the first there will be some names that many of you might not recognize as we have nine fighters making their debut and with six of them facing off against each other we are in for some serious action as they look to make their mark on the Island fight scene .

All this will be taking place in Wild Bob's Bar where the action is guaranteed and thanks go to Paradigm-$60 the best value clothing on the Island.

Let's take a look at the fight card.

Undercard:

205 lbs Ronny Limerick(AUS) v Aubrey Whitney(USA)

Limerick will be looking to extend his two fight win run and Whitney will have his work cut out in attempting to get his first win .

170 lbs Julio Dean(USA) v Jack Rackham(ENG)

Dean comes in with one win and a loss but with far superior BJJ skills looks set to make Rackhams debut fight a serious test.

185 lbs Rolf Harris(Aust/Eng) v Dallas Paige(USA)

With both fighters making their debut they will looking to impress, Harris will be hoping his age superiority will allow him to have an experienced edge while all the youthful energy is backing Paige.

185 lbs Luka Kozlov(RUS) v Daniel "Two" Pumps(THAI)

The second pair of fighters on debut. Kozlov will be hoping his better ground game can be imposed upon "Two" Pumps before he can get into any Thai fighting rhythm .

170 lbs Storm Mjoinir(NOR) v Kamaru Usman(USA)

The third fight to feature two fighters on debut. A distinct clash of styles here with Mjoinir favouring the stand up and Usman being solid on the ground both will strive to impose their own game on the other.

Main Card:

145 lbs Selefkos Nicator(GRE) v Indiana Cojones(VAT)

A drop in weight and a pick up in speed, blink and might miss these guys. At this weight these guys are quick.

Twenty five year old Nicator is making his debut and comes here with a creditable brown belt in BJJ which he will no doubt intend to make good use of.

Cojones also twenty five having lost his first fight is seeking to redeem himself and probably looking to use his slight height advantage to make better use of his boxing skills.

265 lbs Gary Goodridge(CAN) v John Smith(USA)

From some of the lightest and quickest on the card to two of the heaviest and not so quick.

Goodridge at 25 is becoming know already for his punching power one fight and one KO being the lighter of the two he will be hoping to use his slight speed advantage to once again rock the foundations of the building with his fearsome power.

Smith at twenty four is making his debut and debuts can not come any harder than this. However having more than 20 lbs weight advantage will give him the confidence to take the fight to his opponent and help him look to impose his boxing skills.

205 lbs Antonio Almeida(BRA) v Vin Sentiments(PHIL)

Two twenty five year old fighters each with one loss both looking for their first win.

Almeida comes with a slightly better ground game and being the marginally smaller and heavier may look to exploit his natural physical attributes.

Sentiments meanwhile will no doubt look to capitalize on his attributes to further enhance his better boxing skills .

Although Almeida suffered a loss in his first fight he showed he has the gas to go the full distance. However after having received not only a defeat but also a cut Sentiments has yet to prove the same.

Special Featured Fight:

155 lbs Jose Gomez(VEN) v Samart Payakaroon(THAI)

A special feature fight with classically matched fighters. A south American BJJ specialist and a Thai kick boxing traditionalist.

Gomez at twenty five looks as though he stepped right out of a Gracie gym.His long limbs allow for some expert BJJ and facing an expert kick boxer there will be no surprises if and when he takes the fight to his comfort zone on the ground. Having demonstrated his submission capabilities in his first win he will be expected to back that performance up with another.

Twenty five year old Payakaroon has a background in Thai boxing and a record there that shows he needs to be taken seriously. Although this is his second fight here he will bring a wealth of ring craft and experience he will have developed during his early years in the Thai kickboxing world. His ring craft was certainly on display in his first win and he will be hoping not to disappoint all his fans back home and continue his successful beginning in the MMA world.

Main Event:

145 lbs Leon Quinones(PHIL) v Ben Smith(IRE)

A battle of Islanders on the Island.

Twenty five year old Quinones has been touted as a BJJ specialist but has yet to prove that. Having lost his one and only fight so far by way of submission and at that a RNC his BJJ credentials are being asked some serious questions. Coming into this fight with by far the better BJJ skills should offer him some chance to win some favour back.

Ben Smith himself only 25 has seen his MMA career take of in a different direction. With two wins from two fights both by way of TKO's he seems ready to make it three from three. With a better stand up mainly his MT ability he will be hoping his wrestling skills are more than a match allowing him to continue climbing the rankings in his MMA career.

This fight is sure to bring in a huge world wide audience with the people of both the Republic of Ireland and the Philippines sure to overload their national grids in their efforts to watch their man.

Special thank you to Kendo for writing this preview for ICC1!

I often make my write-up headers have links to various sources including the event, the organization, and my outdated narcissism thread where I post my own write-ups... except I stopped doing that out of laziness, so now I like to link something ELSE in that slot to see if anybody notices.
