Revolution XC 1

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1467693133oQSOo.png

From the Company that gave fight fans Island Combat, Revolution XC brings their first self-named show into the World of MMA. Featuring not one, not two, but THREE title fights, the return of Hop Sing Jung AKA Elvis the Fighter, and an appearance by the controversial Nate Gonzalez.

Revolution XC 1 delivered with 10 fights, where 90% ended before the final bell, including all of the Championship bouts.

Without further ado, let's get into the Limb Stretching, Blood Gushing, and Big Striking moments of Revolution XC 1.

Fight #1

Shinsuke McNakamura vs Rico Mera

The fight of the night ended right before the minute mark, as Shinsuke McNakamura quickly ended his Light-Heavyweight bout with Chilean born Rico Mera with a huge clinch uppercut, followed by several more strikes before the referee called for the TKO.

McNakamura’s record goes to 6-1, pretty impressive. Mera’s record falls to .500 with five wins and five loses.

Fight #2

Nate Gonzalez vs Franco Hubb

Nate Gonzalez is without a doubt one of the most controversial fighters in the world.

From pre fight to post fight, Nate will talk trash and call out anyone and everybody.

Hubb came out to the Mustache Song, which really didn’t appeal to the audience.

Hubb did very little in this fight, as Gonzalez quickly took him down and hit him with punches and submissions until the finish at 2:45 of the first round with a Kimura Bringing his record to 9-3 and dropping Hubb to 3-3. Afterwards,

Gonzalez did his thing and shouted out to Compton, his equally controversial brother Nick, Kid Cudi, and Kadeo.

Fight #3

Walton Kunz vs Issumater Tariaksuq

Tariaksuq said before the fight that he had been watching DVD’s, they must have been Winner DVD’s because that's exactly what occurred for him against his German born opponent.

Tariaksuq cut his opponent in the first round and continued to make it worse, as the doctor was forced to stop the fight at 3:19 of round 2. The now 10-3 fighter thanked the fans after his win over Kunz, who now sits at 9-6.

Fight #4

Anton Mammoth vs Ilmari Kuusi

The Future of Super-Heavyweights may be in Anton Mammoth, Who went to 11-0 with a first round Knockout of Ilmari Kuusi, who now sits at 8-6. Mammoth didn’t get it easy, as he got kicked in the Dick shortly into the first round.

It was all Mammoth from there, as he landed every single punch he threw, including an uppercut that knocked Kuusi off his feet at 1:23. If handled right, Anton Mammoth could become a massive star and, more importantly, a champion.

Fight #5

Ukko Metso vs Carlos Newton

This was a ground battle through and through. Middleweights Ukko Metso and Carlos Newton both grappled for all three rounds, but it would be Metso who improve his record to 13-3 while dropping his opponent to 10-6. Metso’s ground and pound and nine submissions attempts ultimately won him the day, but give credit to Newton for being the only fighter on the card tonight to not be finished.

Fight #6

Middleweight Championship

Andy Fitzgerald vs Rocco Antonio Siffredi

The First title fight of the night certainly delivered, ending with “The Italian Stallion” getting a second round finish via a beautiful right hand. This would lead to an amazing post fight celebration, with Siffredi going crazy, doing somersaults and screaming.

The fight was full of punching, with Rocco’s body punches ultimately draining Fitzgerald to an easier finish. This was actually the second time these two have fought, with Siffredi also getting a win via unanimous decision during the Island season 5.

The new champ goes to 11-1, while Fitzgerald will be looking to improve his now 10-3 record in his next outing.

Fight #7

Heavyweight Championship

Papa Shango vs Keola Fatu

Two fighters entered with 11-3 records, but one would go 12-3 while his opponent would go to 11-4.

On this night, Papa Shango brought in the voodoo spirits and TKOed Fatu at 4:11 into round 2. A huge overhand right led to serious ground and pound, and a New Heavyweight Champion was crowned.

Fatu’s best work was in the clinch and on the ground, but he couldn’t handle Shango’s standup game.

A post fight hype attempt by the big bad voodoo daddy didn’t sit too well with the audience, as it went on for a bit too long.

Fight #8

Hop Sing Jung vs Pyry Kontio

In his native South Korea, he is known as “Elvis the Fighter.” Hop Sing Jung is a star in his homeland, however, hype wasn’t able to stop the ground and pound assault of Finland's new favorite Featherweight Pyry Kontio.

Surviving 23 submission attempts, Kontio would punch his way to victory, ending the fight right before the fourth minute of the third round and improving to 12 wins and 3 losses.

Jung meanwhile, suffered two losses in a row for the 3rd time in his career.

Thankfully for the homeland, these losses are usually followed by winning streaks, so there’s a good chance that he will improve his 16-6 record.

Fight #9

Rick James vs Jake Belcher

Rick James, known for his massive love for cocaine, scored a big win in the co-main event of the evening, as he knocked out Jake Belcher in the first round with a big punch, dropping Belcher to 10-5.

The finish came after a jab that rocked and a straight right that socked Jake into a new atmosphere.

Belcher attempted a punch and a kick, and that was it as far as offense was concerned.

The Welterweight star, now 18-5, Thanked fans for attending, getting a huge pop as a result.

Fight #10

Welterweight Championship

Peter Potter vs Tapio Sammalkorpi

A big main event is important for an MMA event. It can tell you many things, including who the stars of the future will be. Peter Potter’s performance, defending his belt for the third time, was that of a Star. 67 attempted clinch strikes, 67 successful clinch strikes, and a first round technical knockout that threw the now 14-2 Sacramento native into the limelight.

Now 15-7, Sammalkorpi couldn’t land a single takedown in 14 attempts, and didn’t even attempt anything else in the fight. Of all the fighters tonight, Potter showed the best performance without a doubt, and will have the unimaginable pressure of following up what was a perfect performance.

Post-Fight Bonuses

Fight of the Night- Rocco Antonio Siffredi vs Andy Fitzgerald

This fight was all about the punches, as Rocco and Andy threw with evil intent.

It would be Siffredi who would land hardest and win a new championship belt.

Knockout of the Night- Rick James

Honestly, I disagree with this choice. James cocaine infused two punch combo was impressive, but the uppercut from Anton Mammoth that almost sent his opponent airborne was much more impressive in my opinion.

Submission of the Night- Nate Gonzalez

This was the easiest choice, as this was the only submission of the night. However, the outspoken Nate Gonzalez probably would have won a bonus on a number of other shows.

Conclusion

A really good first show under the Revolution XC name. The hype for Revolution XC is real, and now is the best time to jump on the bandwagon.

Revolution XC 2

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1469673161rev2.png

Taking place in a Sold Out King Theatre, Revolution XC 2 delivered nine fights in total, including three Title Fights, three KO’s, three Submissions, and three Decisions.

All three title fights ended in finishes. Without further ado, Let's get into the bone breaking, head crushing, and punch whiffing action of Revolution XC 2.

Fight #1 D’Wayne Williams vs Jake Blake

At only 19 years old and now 2-0, D’Wayne Williams has wonderful Muay Thai and proficient wrestling, and he could be one to watch as he progresses in his Lightweight mixed martial arts career.

He had issues with Blake, as he gave up 4 out of 14 takedowns and missed over 60 punches.

However, he landed enough to win a clear unanimous decision, dropping Jake to 3-4.

Fight #2 Vito Scaletta vs Count Foo

The best word to describe this fight was insane. From even before both guys were in the cage, Scaletta was assaulted by an insane fan.

Thankfully he was okay, and proceeded to have one of the craziest fights I had seen in a long, long while. This welterweight fight was entirely standup driven, as these two threw caution to the wind and stood and banged.

Ultimately, It was Vito, with more punches and some leg kicks, who would improve his record to 6-1 with a clear decision win over Count Foo.

Even though his record now sits at 5-3, Foo definitely won a lot of respect with his performance.

Fight #3 Michael Campion vs Jean Claude Jaques Guesteau

Dang that was a mouthful. Even so, J.C.J.G. would end up being the first finished participant of the night, as he fell to a first round kimura to the now 7-3 Campion.

The now 3-4 heavyweight will be looking to go .500 in his next fight, and who knows, maybe he’ll have a record as impressive as his name?

Fight #4 Zui Quan Tso vs Ben Jones

Another Heavyweight bout, another first round finish. Tso would end Jones night in 50 seconds with a big punch and brutal hammerfists.

Now 10-4, Zui Quan Tso promoted Leviathan Clothing despite trouble putting the shirt on. Jones’ record now sits at 5-2, though at 25 he does have time to pull off a decent career.

Fight #5 Jake Belcher vs Nikolay Luzkhin

After getting KO’d by a cocaine infused Rick James at Revolution XC 1, Belcher came back with a vengeance, giving Luzkhin the first defeat in his career with some vicious ground and pound.

It was all Belcher when they hit the mat, as he hit Nikolay with strike after strike and never let up until the ref stopped the action with3 seconds left in round 1.

Nikolay is only 19 and will have plenty of time to improve his 4-1 record. As for Belcher, he can rest easy having increased his record to 11-5, with all of his wins coming via (T)KO.

Fight #6 Predator Burns vs Issumater Tariaksuq

After beating Cutting Walter Kunz into defeat, Issumater couldn’t get any momentum, as he was dominated in a grapple-heavy encounter with Burns.

All judges scored the fight 30-26, and now Issumater’s record falls to 10-4.

Predator Burns was intent to pressure his opponent, as he took Tariaksuq down multiple times and manage to get the clinch quite a few times, but he barely did anything other than hold on tight.

It was enough, however, as he increased his record to 16-7.

Fight #7 Light-Heavyweight Championship

Kyle Long vs Kaleva Vettenranta

The first of three Title fights ended in dominant fashion, as Vettenranta would get his revenge against the man who took the belt away from him in the first place. He won the title, and improved to 12-4, with a sick Guillotine choke in the first round.

Long had no answers for Vettenranta’s ground game, as he got taken down and pounded for a majority of the contest before getting his head almost popped with a guillotine. The former champion now sits at 12-6.

Fight #8 Lightweight Championship

Royal Pain vs Royce Disgracie

In his second title defence, Pain would put the hurt on Royce and submit him with a Rear Naked Choke a mere 2 seconds before the first round ended.

Pain was getting struck multiple times throughout the fight, but the moment this went to the ground, he would do his damndest to make Disgracie submit. He would succeed, and move his record to 11-2 while defending his Championship. Royce, now 10-3, was humble in defeat.

Fight #9 Featherweight Championship

Alexander Vermeer vs Martin Luther King Jr.

I don’t know whether King is actually the late civil rights leader or just some loon who thinks he’s the late civil rights leader, but the late stoppage by the ref didn’t help him mentally in any way possible.

Either way, the story of this fight was Vermeer proving to be a dominant first Featherweight Champion for Revolution XC.

He would stand toe to toe with MLK, but it was the clinch where he dominated the most, as cracked King with punches to the face and body 60 times before finishing him with a big uppercut.

King was a non factor throughout the two rounds he fought, as he missed more then he hit and didn’t succeed in any of his 4 takedown attempts, making it no surprise that he stands at 9-3. Congratulations to Vermeer, who now stands at 15-3-1 and 1 nc.

Post Fight Bonuses

Fight of the Fight- Vito Scaletta vs Count Foo.

This fight was intense even before the cage door closed, as Scaletta was almost (T)KOed by a deranged fan. He would survive that and 3 action packed rounds with Foo to win a Unanimous Decision.

KO of the Night- Alexander Vermeer

Although it was a late stoppage, Vermeer’s domination of MLK Jr shouldn’t be taken away from. His uppercut that separated King from his conscious was one one the best of the year, and goes to show you that crazy will only get you so far.

Submission of the Night- Royal Pain

Don’t Call it a comeback, even though it technically was. Pain was getting pelted by Royce Disgracie’s striking until he got the fight to the ground and choked him out with a Rear Naked Choke.

Conclusion

A really balanced show, not as good as Revolution XC 1 but it had its moments. Most impressive was that all three Championship fights didn’t even go to the Championship rounds. A second successful show, and hopefully there will be more to follow.

" Ahhh...vaffanculo damn Count, he hit me like a truck, that was a hell of a fight, i thought i died in the cage, i left everything there and i cant train all week now.. he even dropped me, but guess what i am one of the many nephews of Rocky Marciano, i have the same blood in my veins, and when i got dropped, i came back more ruthless and relentless, i swarmed him like the best Rocky days and eventually won by decision.

Hats off to the Count, i mean he is still a damn Count but i really have to ate my own words and i underestimated him a lot, next time i will be better prepared, vaffanculo a tutti picciotti."

Revolution XC 3

Here it is, the most successful event under the Revolution XC banner.

4, Yes 4, Title fights, Featuring one of the best in the world Peter Potter taking on the Super Freaky Rick James, Elite striker Alexander Vermeer taking on Finland's favorite featherweight Pyry Kontio, Former Champion taking on Tapio Sammalkorpi in an unexpected 5 round non-title fight.

The Italian Stallion Rocco Antonio Siffredi defending his Middleweight Championship, Royal Pain looking to bring it to the highly controversial Nate Gonzalez, and the return of Elvis the Fighter, who will be looking to break his 3rd 2 fight losing streak.

Taking place in a sold out King’s Theatre in LA, Let's not sweat the small stuff and get to the Bone Breaking, Head Rocking, and Spin Cycling Action that only Revolution XC can provide.

Justin Sane vs Leandro Leite

Middleweight MMA Action

It took 5 tries, but Leite managed to get Sane to the ground and submit him with a first round Americana to improve his record to 5-3. Sane seemed to have the advantage on the feet, but he couldn’t handle the ground game, and his record fell to 3-2.

Royce Disgracie vs Nik Snow

Lightweight MMA Action

I don’t want to sound harsh, but Royce should either move down to featherweight or find an organization that allows for bantamweight. He might have looked alright earlier in the round, but Snow used his long legs to choke out Disgracie in the 2 round of their lightweight encounter.

Royce may have been competitive, but he was also a big favorite, since he’s a former champion. Snow was in his Second ever fight, but managed to pull out a big victory. Meanwhile, Royce will probably have some thinking to do about his now 10-4 record.

Martin Luther King Jr vs Issumater Tariaksuq

Featherweight MMA Action

The fall of the King continues, as Tariaksuq managed to scramble his brains more with a head kick and follow up strikes to end the contest in the first round. King managed 1 body punch, out of 5.

Issumater managed used an all kicking game, landing 32 lower kicks and 9 head kicks, including the one that ended it.

Tariaksuq, who has competed in all of Revolution XC’s self entitled events, now sits at 11-4, while King is now 9-4, having lost three fights in a row.

He still did his little speech at the end of the fight, I’ve almost lost all hope for that poor man.

Hop Sing Jung vs Rodney Smith

Featherweight MMA Action

Hop Sing Jung will have a lot of thinking to do. Elvis the fighter lost his third fight in a row for the first time, and he lost bad. After scoring a quick takedown, Smith locked in a simple but effective Guillotine choke. The tap came 18 seconds into round 1.

Smith isn’t a scrub, he’s a very well rounded product of the United Kingdom who is now 11-0. Even still, it’s a shame that the man known as Elvis the Fighter just doesn’t seem to be able to hang with the elite of the world anymore.

Congratulations to Rodney Smith, who seems to be the future of the featherweight division. As for the now 16-7 Jung, only time will tell where he goes from here.

Royal Pain vs Nate Gonzalez

Lightweight Championship Action

“COMPTON MOTHERFUCKER!!!” Screamed Gonzalez in his post interview after 5 rounds of action against Royal Pain, winning via unanimous decision with identical scorecards of 49-46.

Pain did his best work in round 2, where he got a takedown and attempted to submit the durable Compton native. The other rounds belonged to Gonzalez, who outstriked Pain on the feet and landed 4 out of 4 takedowns.

What’s next for these two? A rematch apparently, as these two are scheduled to fight again at the next event, Revolution XC 4.

The now 10-3 and 2 time lightweight champion Gonzalez will be looking to prove his win over Royal Pain wasn’t a fluke, and Pain, now 11-3, will be looking for revenge and his belt.

Rocco Antonio Saffredi vs Tapio Valo

Middleweight Championship Action

Winning a championship in mma is one thing, defending it is another. R.A.S. proved today that he’s a true champion, and he did it in emphatic fashion, smashing Tapio Valo with a big punch that Knocked out the Fin in 19 seconds of the second round.

Valo wasn’t an easy out, as he knocked down the Italian Stallion with a head kick in the first round and managed to cut Saffredi.

Valo didn’t get to repeat his success in round 2, and now sits at 13-4.

Saffredi meanwhile, will be looking to further cement his legacy in his next fight, whatever it may be, and improve his 12-1 record.

Jake Belcher vs Tapio Sammalkorpi

Welterweight MMA Action

I have no clue why this was 5 rounds. There wasn’t a title on the line and this wasn’t the main event. Belcher definitely didn’t mind, as he cruised to the first decision win of his MMA career.

Tapio didn’t present much of a challenge, even though he scored two takedowns. Belcher got more, 5, and rained down several ground and pound strikes throughout the 5 rounds.

Belcher, who now sits at 12-5, has one two in a row after his knockout loss to Rick James, and Sammalkorpi, now 15-8 has lost two in a row, including a his title match against Peter Potter.

On another interesting sidenote, Belcher has also competed at every event so far, and he’ll be fighting at Revolution XC 4 next.

Ukko Metso vs Gleb Zhegov

Middleweight MMA Action

In a fight that could have determined the next challenger to R.A.S.’s middleweight title, Ukko Metso proved without a shadow of a doubt that he should be next with a dominating performance over Gleb Zhegov.

Metso took Gleb down in both rounds and dominated with ground and pound, capping it off with a second round Kimura over the Russian Striker, who is now 12-3. At 14-.

Metso will definitely be looking to take out the reigning Middleweight champion in his next fight.

Alexander Vermeer vs Pyry Kontio

Featherweight Championship Action

Every second in a fight matters, whether it be the first second of round 1 or the last of round 5, every moment in their counts. Reigning and defending Champ Vermeer proved this wholeheartedly, as he ended the night of Finland’s favorite Featherweight in the last second of round 1 with a picture perfect spinning backfist.

It wasn’t easy, as Kontio managed to score 2 takedowns early, but wasn’t able to do much before the champ escaped. After missing his 11th takedown, Vermeer rocked him with a punch before following it up with a massive spinning backfist that put out Pyry’s light instantly.

Vermeer, who is now 16-3-1 with 1nc, remains the only Featherweight Champion in Revolution XC history, but he might have his hands full if he encounters one Rodney Smith.

Kontio’s record falls to 12-4.

Peter Potter vs Rick James

Welterweight Championship Action

I had two predictions heading into this. Either Potter would coast to an easy stoppage, or James would score an early technical knockout, only to fail his post fight drug test due to cocaine.

I ended up being half right, as Rick James Fucked Potter’s couch in the first round of a wild fight. Potter would try his best to clinch up with James, but James would have none of it and get out before any real damage could be done.

A left, a right, an uppercut, and a freaking spinning backfist would put Potter on his ass, but somehow didn’t knock him out, though James made sure to end it with follow up strikes to put away Potter.

Where do these two go from here? Well James, now 19-5, hasn’t seemed to fail his drug test as he will be facing Don Julio Cesar Chavez at Revolution XC 4, and on that same card, Potter, now 14-3, will be fighting Jake Belcher in a rematch from a championship fight from the Island combat days.

Post Fight Bonuses

Fight of the Night- Rick James vs Peter Potter

It might have been only 1:13 seconds, but it was a wild 1:13 seconds, as the crowd was on it’s feet for the whole fight up until James street fighter like combo ended Potter’s night and his championship reign.

Knockout of the Night- Alexander Vermeer

Not even a contest. Vermeer’s last second Spinning backfist knockout of Pyry Kontio might have been the best knockout of 2016, and shows the world that the Netherland’s born striker is one of the best in the world.

Submission of the Night- Rodney Smith

He was 10-0 coming into the fight, but still an underdog going into a fight with one of South Korea’s favorite sons. 18 seconds later and Smith might be on his way to a title fight with the aforementioned Vermeer.

A simple Guillotine choke after giving up a takedown was all Smith needed to end the night of Hop Sing Jung and net him a $5000 bonus.

Conclusion

There’s no question why this was the best event that Revolution XC 3 was our best event.

Big finishes, huge upsets, and the championship homecoming of one of the most controversial and talked about fighters on the planet.

Revolution XC will see you next time on August 13 at Revolution XC 4, and who knows, we may just outshine ourselves again.

Here we are in wonderful Los Angeles, Revolution XC 4 is packed from the start to beginning, featuring 5 world championship fights, you can best believe I will not be missing out on this one. Jay has been doing a great job with this company, it is one of the hottest fight companies in LA producing some of the best fights I have seen. Revolution XC 4 will be taking place at King Theatre, August 13th, 2016. Buy your tickets now while they last!

The Main Event will feature a bout in the Welterweight division one of the most popular fighters today will be looking to get back on track since he lost his title against Rick James, Peter Potter (14-3) will be taking on Jake Belcher (12-5) both of these men are so exciting, I don't know about you guys, but I see this fight basically crowning your number one contender for the Welterweight title. Jake is on an amazing 2 fight winning streak, he said if he wins on fight night he wants the title shot. Jake has a wonderful background in wrestling and a purple belt in BJJ. He does damage when he gets you down, 11 of his 12 wins have came by TKO. He wants to win this fight and move on and challenge for the title. He hopes he doesn't get slept again by Potter. Peter said he doesn't give a shit about what this scrub Belcher says or what he wants to do, he went on to say that he beat his ass so bad the first time he has no clue why he's even here today. He will be looking to knock him out, and moving on to fight the winner of the Welterweight title fight.
My prediction: Peter Potter will once again knockout Jake Belcher, my guess is in the first round.

:excl:
The Co Main will feature the Welterweight Championship, The champion Rick James (19-5) will be looking to retain his title against Don Julio Cesar Chavez (11-4) Man do these guys have a history between each other. The last time these men squared off it was in The Island Season 5 and man what a fight it was. Nothing but fireworks until Rick secured the win in the 3rd round by KO and won the whole damn thing. Everyone has been wanting to see the rematch since the fight happened and finally the fans are going to get what they want but this time, it'll be for the RXC Welterweight Championship of the world. Don has said that he just got caught in their first fight but he felt like he was winning it just got tired in the 3rd and paid the price for it, he is looking forward to proving that he is the better man. We also caught up with Rick and he had some words also, he said that what happened wasn't a fluke and he will prove that he is indeed the better man, he will be looking for the KO within the first round.
My prediction: This is a tough one, but going on the past history I think I would have to give it to James by KO within the first or second round.

:excl:
The King of the Heavyweight Division Papa Shango (12-3) will be looking to defend his title against Theodore Thundercunt (14-4) This is one of the best rivalries I have seen as both of these men are 1-1 between them. These guys know where each others buttons are as they have both finished each other. So this is the true test the have both matured and grown so much since the last time the fought, the last time they fought Thundercunt won the fight by TKO in the 3rd round. They have a lot of respect for one another and know they have to play this one safe, one mistake and this one is all over folks. Can Papa Shango defend his title and win the trilogy? Or will Thundercunt tkae the thrown of the Heavyweight division and the bragging rights? A lot to lose, and a hell of a lot to gain.
My prediction: I see Theodore Thundercunt winning the fight by KO in the 2nd round.

:excl:
The Featherweight Championship will also be on the line as the champion Alexander Vermeer (16-3-1) will be looking to test his hands against Issumatar Tariaksuq (11-4) both of these guys are excellent at what they do, you can argue that Issumatar doesn't do much in the cage as 7 of his 11 wins have come by decision but to me that shows a lot of skill, he can take you down and just wear you down till you can't breathe anymore and just give up, he legit breaks people, and just grinds them out until he gets the victory. Alex doesn't seem to be worried one bit for this upcoming match up, he said he will be coming in and looking for the finish early! His speed has looked phenomenal inside his camp and I just think this is the best we've ever seen him prepare for a fight it will be so exciting to see these guys fight on Saturday.
My prediction: I see Alexander coming in and showing off his hand speed a little bit, backing up Issumatar with the left jab, Issumatar shoots for the takedown and gets stuffed, Alex will then KO him inside the first.

:excl:
The Lightweight Championship will be defended as Nate Gonzalez (10-3) will also look to defend his title for the first time against Royal Pain (11-3) who is looking to come and take his title back, Royal lost the title to Gonzalez in a 5 round war by Unanimous Decision, Royal was not happy when he heard the judges scorecard he instantly demanded a rematch and said that Nate got lucky and he should have never won. Both of these guys are excellent all around fighters who do damage in side the cage. I'm really looking forward to this rematch ladies and gentleman, Nate has been posting training videos all over social media and man he looks scary, he really looks like he's been training to get that knockout on fight night.
My prediction: I've watched their last fight over and over now, Pain was so close to getting a submission in their last fight, I think if he can get the fight down, he will secure the sub and get the W, but on the other hand, if he doesn't get him down I see Nate getting the knock out within the 2nd round.

Moving on to the Middleweight Division, Andy Fitzgerald (10-3) will be facing Carlos Newton (10-6) who has a win over Fitzgerald and 2 wins over the current champion Rick James. However Newton is currently on a two fight losing streak he will be looking to snap come fight night. Newton is a brown belt in BJJ and man does he put it to use inside the cage, all 10 of his wins have come by submission he will be looking to put it to use on Andy once again on Saturday. Andy admitted that he made a lot of mistakes in their last fight, he slipped up and let him grab him and he just couldn't get out of gear. He has been training non stop to avenge this loss and once again get back on track to the title.

My prediction: I think Carlos Newton will snap his losing streak, take Andy down and submit him within the 3rd round. You just can't deny the mans submission skills and the fact that he also already holds a win over Andy. Either way this will be a great fight for the fans.

:excl:
Moving on to a fan favorite division as the Light Heavyweight Championship is on the line! The champion Kaleva Vettenranta (12-4) will be looking to defend his title against Kyle Long (12-6) This has been a highly anticipated rematch as the last time these men squared off was for the vacant championship, and Kaleva made quick work of Kyle as he secured a submission inside the first round to get the win. Long was devastated for a while but he got back inside the gym and started working on his BJJ and his escapes to prepare for this fight. Kaleva says he is not sure how the fight will play out, he is prepared for any situation, but he sees another submission in the future.
My prediction: Tough one to call, I'm excited for this rematch myself, but I think it will play out the same way as last time, I just don't think Kyle had enough time to prepare.

The last two fights on the card will be going back to the Featherweight Division. First up, we have Pyry Kontio (12-4) going up against Hop Sing Jung (16-7) You can bet your ass this fight will end up on the ground as soon as the bell rings. These men have fought in past and Pyry actually caught him with some strikes and ended up finishing the fight, but both of these guys have a highly decorated JJ background and most of their wins are by submission Hop Sing knows the mistakes he made in the last fight and he now knows what he has to do to avenge the loss. How do you guys see this fight going? Will Kontio do it again against Jung? Or will we see Jung take the W and set up a future trilogy.

My prediction: I honestly hope Hop Sing Jung gets the win to make the record 1-1 between these guys so we can see the third fight, it's always special when he got guys with these types of backgrounds it just makes a exciting fight to watch, so I think Jung will get the fight on the ground and secure the sub.

Kicking off the card we have two Amazing Featherweight prospects stepping into the cage on Saturday as undefeated fighter Rodney Smith (11-0) will be looking to make it 12-0 against Martin Luther King Jr (9-4) Smith has his eye on the prize and that his the Featherweight championship, we are sure a win over Martin will earn him a shot at the gold, but first he has to get in there and do just that, MLK is no push over, every time he steps in there he is looking to put on a fight for the fans that they wont forget. All 9 of his fights have come by submission, but both of these men have a purple belt in BJJ and Smith also loves to take his opponents down and get the sub, as 8 out of his 11 fights have come by submission. Smith said he is working to develop his skills all around, he doesn't want to be a one trick pony, he wants to be able to adapt to any situation that is put in front of him. Who do you guys have on this fight? Will MLK pull off the upset and put a stop to Smith's hype train? Or will Rodney move on to 12-0 and challenge for the Championship? Find out this Saturday!

My prediction: I honestly think Smith is the better fighter out of the two, so well rounded and just a monster when he's in the cage. I see him winning this fight by 1st round Submission

Don't forget to buy your tickets now as this fight is just days away! You cannot miss this one guys. This card will be the talk of the MMA community for months! So come out and see us for RXC 4 at King Theatre, August 13th, 2016.

Revolution XC 4

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1470876865rxc4.png

Question, How does Revolution XC follow up it’s most successful event to date? The answer is simple, bring in a card with 5, F@$#ING 5, Championship encounters, a main event featuring a returning champion looking to reclaim his throne, Elvis the Fighter looking for revenge and one of the best featherweight prospects in mixed martial arts today.

Without further ado, let’s get to the arm breaking, head spinning, and endurance testing action that only Revolution XC can provide!

Rodney Smith vs Martin Luther King Jr

Featherweight MMA Action

It really speaks to the quality of this fight card that this fight, featuring one of the next big things in Smith, is the curtain jerker for this event. Though that might have more to do with King than anything else. I can’t be too mean, King did the best that he’s done for a while, landing body shots and not getting finished at all. On the other hand, Rodney proved why he’s one of the guys to watch by dominating in every aspect of the fight, taking home unanimous 30-27 scorecards. Smith now sits at 12-0, while Martin now has to deal with a record of 9-5. At least his head didn’t get as messed up as previously.

Zui Quan Tso vs Troy Lancaster

Heavyweight MMA Action

Clinches galore helped Lancaster bring down Tso in this heavyweight contest by round 2, and he did it with a takedown and a multitude of elbows. Tso barely did anything, this fight was all troy from start to finish. Afterwards, Troy hyped himself to the crowd, showing a natural charisma on top of a 23-15-2 record. Zui is now 10-5.

Andy Fitzgerald vs Carlos Newton

Middleweight MMA Action

Another one sided fight in the books, this time with Fitzgerald snapping a two fight skid with strikes against the cage set off by a short shot in the clinch. Even coming out to Bootylicious by Destiny’s Child didn’t help Newton, as he failed to do anything in this fight besides get hit and fell to 10-7. Now 11-3, Fitzgerald might still have a ways to go before he can have a rematch with RAS for the Middleweight Championship.

Nate Gonzalez vs Royal Pain

Lightweight Championship Action

I guess it wasn’t a fluke. Gonzalez, right after regaining his championship, proved that he’s the real deal with a convincing Unanimous Decision victory over Royal Pain. The scorecards read 49-46, 49-47, and 48-47.

It was definitely a closer match than before, with Pain doing his best work on the ground where he attempted 14 submissions and kept squirming into better positions, but Gonzalez brought that extra something in the cage, especially with his standup and perfect 4 takedowns.

Pain, now 11-4, will need to regroup before he can even think of getting another shot at the belt.

Gonzalez, now 11-3, will be seen sooner than later after an interesting next fight…

Pyry Kontio vs Hop Sing Jung

Featherweight MMA Action

There’s almost something magical about breaking a losing streak, especially after so many decide to write you off. Jung was on a three fight losing streak and has now has seemingly got his mojo back with a quick 1st round submission over Finland’s (formerly) favorite featherweight.

Kontio started off strong with a quick takedown but soon regretted his decision when Elvis the Fighter immediately threw up a triangle and a tap out occurred soon afterwards.

Kontio, now 12-5 after this fight and a knockout loss to Alexander Vermeer, now sits on the outside looking in.

Jung’s next opponent has come as a surprise, as he will be facing Nate Gonzalez in a title fight come Revolution XC 5.

Whether the 17-7 Korean superstar deserves it or not, it should be an excellent fight for fans.

Kaleva Vettenranta vs Kyle Long

Light Heavyweight Championship Action

This rubber match is a quick, clear, and showed that our organization needs more Light Heavyweights. Vettenranta put an exclamation mark in his third encounter with Long by use of a 34 second armbar.

Long, now 12-7, might not have to wait that long for a fourth match, as he is one of only 8 Light Heavyweights we have on the roster. If you have a light heavyweight you’d like to see compete in our organization, PM either me or Jay Tycoon for a contract and one day, you might get to go into the cage with our 13-4 reigning and defending champion.

Alexander Vermeer vs Issumater Tariaksuq

Featherweight Championship Action

I’ll admit, I saw this fight as fuel to the Vermeer hype bus, I believed that Tariaksuq was out of his league here going against the only champion in Revolution XC’s history, And

I didn’t believe that Issu had the standup skills to out strike a guy

who could and a perfect spinning backfist.

I ate my words by the end of this.

Through 5 rounds of true championship action, These two beat the hell out of each other, Vermeer was landing punches, but Issu brought in an insane kicking game. I say insane because he threw nothing but kicks.

No Joke, Tariaksuq kicked the $hit out of Vermeer, as if he owned him money.

I’m not sure how much cash Vermeer gave out, but the he lost something more valuable in his title and now sits at 16-4-1 with 1nc.

Tariaksuq now has to deal with being the second Featherweight Champion in RXC, but with his 12-4 record, he’ll no doubt be up for the test.

Papa Shango vs Theodore Thunderc%&*

Heavyweight Championship Action

I’m not saying Theo’s last name, but thankfully I won’t have to for a while after Shango ended this rubber match going 2-1 over his offensive opponent.

For a while, it seemed like Theo would cruise to a victory since he was throwing and more importantly landing more than his cursed rival, but he got caught in Shango’s spell, AKA a left hand and follow up punches in the third round, retaining the gold around his waist.

Now 13-3, Shango will be looking to follow up this impressive performance in his next fight.

Theo is now 14-5 and I still refuse to say his last name.

Rick James vs Don Julio Cesar Chavez

Welterweight Championship Action

It wasn’t quite Charlie Murphy wailing in his legs, but Rick James got served by Don Julio in just 42 seconds of round 1 in what was a crazy brawl, very similar to their first encounter.

Four strikes were all that was needed for Chavez would win his first Championship in Mixed Martial Arts and improve his record to 12-4.

Rick James is 19-6, but after all his crazy fights, he’ll definitely have a spot on Revolution XC’s roster for years to come.

Honestly, I was so surprised by the outcome that I don’t even have a random cocaine joke for this review.

Peter Potter vs Jake Belcher

Welterweight MMA Action

Wins are nice, but you don’t know what you’re truly made of until you encounter a loss. Potter rebounded from his third loss in his career with a near perfect demolition of Belcher in the main event of the evening.

The ref might have been slow, it wouldn’t have affected the performance all that much. Belcher’s modest two fight streak was ended and he now sits at 12-6.

Potter, now 15-3, will definitely be looking for another title shot, this time against Don Julio Cesar Chavez.

However, Chavez seems to be avoiding the fight at all costs, Interesting.

Fight of the Night- Issumater Tariaksuq vs Alexander Vermeer

This was a great fight. Issu kicked the hell out of Vermeer but Alexander also got his own pops off. Ultimately, Tariaksuq would be victorious after 5 rounds and become the second champion in RXC’s Featherweight division.

Knockout of the Night- Don Julio Cesar Chavez

A new champ was crowned in 42 seconds as DJCC rocked Rick James with a massive overhand right and follow up strikes to seal the deal.

Submission of the Night- Kaleva Vettenranta

What better way to go 2-1 over a rival then with a 34 second armbar victory. Kyle Long found out the hard way that going to the ground with Vettenranta is a bad idea and paid the price.

Conclusion

Revolution XC just keeps getting better and more interesting as these events go on.

Turn in next time where we’ll attempt to sell out University Park with a super fight between Controversy Magnet Nate Gonzalez and Elvis the Fighter Hop Sing Jung.

I know where I’ll be on August 23, where will you be?

You better get the record straight. I already smashed potter in the tourney, then potter avoided me for 2 straight fights instead of defending his title against the man that just beat him. I finally get my taste of the gold and he wants a title shot in 1 week? After all the waiting I had to do? Fine, I'll fight potter in 1 week, in 1 year, in the street, in the ring, anytime, anywhere. He's a pretty boy coward.

You better check your facts before you write that kind of shit about me again. Where I'm from people get smacked for running they mouths about something they know nothing about.

This amazing card is given to you by Jay Tycoon, and features ten fights, including three title fights!

The opening fight is in the Middleweight division featuring Kaedo Neal and Jerry Smith.

Kaedo comes in with an four win streak, and has only four fights in his career.

He has the ability to end a fight in the first round, and has proven this in every fight he has been in.

Kaedo will adapt to the fight, fighting against weaknesses that his opponent.

has He can either fight with his takedowns or through his punches.

Jerry come sing with one fight, which he won by decision. Jerry seems to have cardio to last many rounds. Jerry has better stats in Boxing than Kaedo. Both of these fighters will give it all in this fight!

The second fight is in the Middleweight division featuring Konor “0Y King” McGregor and Igz Kincald.

Konor comes in with impressive counter takedowns that have proved lethal in many of his fights.

If you allow Konor too control from the ground, he can end the fight if you cannot defend him well. Igz on the other hand is on an 2 win streak, of his two fight career.

Igz has won both of his fights through some sort of submission. It seems like he has superior submissions, and if latched will prove lethal. But overall the ground game goes too Konor.

The third fight is in the Middleweight division featuring Blue Kandle and Vito “Gangster” Scaletta.

Blue comes into this fight with an four win streak of his four career fights.

He has used his superior boxing skills too overwhelm his opponents, and knock them down in the first round. His power can prove to be very overwhelming in and fight.

Vito comes in with an fight of the night reward, which was an badass fight to say the least. Vito has superior boxing skills, which will be a key factor in the fight. No matter who wins this fight expect an knockout!

The fourth fight is in the Middleweight division featuring Fernando Luiz and Katsu “Katana” Kazuhiro.

Fernando comes in with one KO/ fight of the night award. He has wonderful boxing and strong Brazilian jiu jitsu. Fernando has seen lot during his time as a fighter, and can fight almost anyone. He is an very aggressive fighter and can catch his opponents off guard during fights.

Katsu this Japanese fighter guru comes in with an fight of the night, and two sub of the night awards. Katsu is an ground expert and has proven he can prove to be slippery, showing his reversal talents.

The fifth fight is in the Lightweight division featuring Pyry Kontio and Walton Kunz.

Pyry comes in with many battles in his career and has many awards.

Pyry has amazing ground defense and will not be easily tapped out. But the worst place to be if you are facing him is standing where he is the most dangerous and powerful.

Walton comes in with a lot of battles and war scars. Its not very good that he is on an three fight loss which is not good for any fighter. Walton has very powerful takedowns, which is the first step to him causing his opponent to tap.

The sixth fight is for the Light Heavyweight title featuring the champion Kaleva Vetterranta and the challenger Gleb Zheglov.

Kaleva is the champ for an reason and he has proved it with one successful tile defense. Kaleva rarely leaves the first round as his wrestling piles drives most of his opponents into submission.

Kaleva also likes to use the clinch, and perform a lot of dirty boxing. Gleb comes in as the challenger and is on an two loss streak.

Gleb prefers that the fight stays standing where he is the most dominating, and powerful. So if the fight either stays on the ground or stays standing will prove who wins it.

The seventh fight is for the Welterweight title between the champion Nate “Cholo” Gangsta” Gonzalez and the challenger Hop Sing “Hyun Ae” Jung.

Nate is known throughout buzz and is an known as an shit talker. But this kid has proven he can back it up and this was made clear when he became champion.

Nate comes in with an three win streak and it’s helpful to an fighters confidence. Nate has an great chin and he comes in with an warriors spirit.

He can prove to be lethal on the ground with marvelous takedowns, and control.

Hop comes in as the challenger and seems the calmer fighter of the two. If Hop can prove to the fans he can win over Nate’s constant chatter he could win.

But Hop does come in with more experience fighting in championship matches, as he was an multi champion before.

The eight fight is in the Middleweight division featuring Ukko Metso and Andy Fitzgerald.

Ukko comes in with two losses already too Andy, and he is hoping to win this one against him. Ukko is an great ground artist, but his troubles for beating Andy is his inability to keep him on the ground and thug getting himself knocked out.

Andy comes in with an clear advantage with his power and his past fights verse Ukko. If Andy keeps the pace the same as the other fights, he will win this fight again.

The ninth fight and co main event is in the Super Heavyweight division featuring Papa Shango and Afonso Cabral.

Papa Shango comes in as the champion, but this fight is not for the Super Heavyweight title. Papa comes in with an two win streak, which is great for an fighter's confidence.

One of these fights was an title defense as well.

Papa has shown to be an crazed fighter with his boxing and is known to win by KO.

Papa is not an opponent to be messed with and waiting is the worse option in defeating this giant.

Afonso comes in with an four win streak and is looking for an future title shot, if he wins this I’m guessing. Afonso also comes in with the ability to throw bombs as well.

He has superior cardio, but I doubt this fight goes more than a round, as both fighters will be looking to win by knockout for sure.

The tenth fight and main event for the evening is for the Middleweight title between the champion

Don Julio Cesar Chavez and the challenger “Pretty Peter Potter.

Don comes into this fight after winning the title versus Rick James in the first round, in court two seconds.

Fans were shocked at the brutal beating Don pulled out, and he is hoping it goes like that again.

But of course title fights are rarely that easy and he has an get challenger that he will be facing.

Don has proven an powerhouse with powerful and accurate strikes that can knockout anyone if landed.

The challenger Peter comes in with an loss versus Don in the last time they meet, but it was not on the same scale as it is in this fight.

Peter also is an brawler and has proven this with every fight ending in the first round.

No matter the outcome somebody will be laying on the mat unconscious.

This is gonna be an great fight can’t wait to see it!

Revolution XC 5

King of Smack!

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1467693133oQSOo.png

Before I go on with the review, I would like to apologize to Don Julio Cesar Chavez. In my review for Revolution XC 4, I implied that Chavez might be actively avoiding a fight with Peter Potter. This was stupid on my part. I hate it when media outlets try to twist the facts to make a story that gets more internet traffic, and I should have been a more honest reviewer, and I should have done more research into what was going on.

MMA is a brutal sport, and it requires a certain level of bravery in order to get into a cage with another grown man, or woman I don’t judge, who wants to hurt you in order to make money.

Fighters deserve more respect than they seem to get, and I'm going to try to provide fair and balanced reviews from now on to show my respect. Whether you’re 100-0 or 0-100, Mixed Martial Artists are the toughest people in sports, you got to give credit to people who are willing to have an occupation where they are guaranteed to be hurt.

Enough of me though, let’s get on to the event, which took place in front of 13,381 people who got to witness 3 title fights, including Don Julio Cesar Chavez looking to go 2-0 over former champ Peter Potter, Dominate Light-Heavyweight Champion Kaleva Vettenranta taking on Gleb Zheglov, and perhaps most anticipated (and unexpected), Nate Gonzalez, representing Compton and all alterations of the F-word, taking on “Elvis the Fighter” himself, Hop Sing Jung.

Is that it, HELL NO! We’ve got Heavyweight Champion Papa Shango going up to Super-Heavyweight for a super fight with Alfonso Cabral, and a #1 Contender’s fight between Ukko Metso and Andy Fitzgerald in the Middleweight division. Without further ado, let’s get to the windpipe crushing, strike central highlights, and comeback kid moments that can only be found in Revolution XC!

Kaedo Neal vs Jerry Smith

Middleweight MMA Action

Kaedo Neal is under the same management team as the Gonzalez brothers and Kid Kudi, a great, if controversial group of friends to have. However, at only 18 years old and now 5-0 after an impressive second round TKO, Neal is a prospect on the rise, and might be a headlining act sooner than later. As for Smith, he did alright, landing more strikes even getting a couple of takedowns against Neal. However, Kaedo hit harder and when it mattered, finishing Smith off in the second round. The Australian falls to 1-1.

Konor McGregor vs Igz Kincaid

Welterweight MMA Action

Dang, this is why it’s not not a good idea to go to the ground with a brown belt in BJJ. A McGregor takedown was followed up soon afterwards with a beautiful armbar by Kincaid, who is 3-0 in his career so far. McGregor goes back to the drawing board with a record of 2-2, essentially being on the .500 mark.

Blue Kandle vs Vito Scaletta

Welterweight MMA Action

After a fight of the night victory against Count Foo, Scaletta continued his winning ways with a first round TKO of Blue in the first round with only 4 seconds left on the clock. Scaletta dominated in both the clinch and in the stand up, as he battered his wax inspired (even I’m not sure what I just typed), opponent with strikes until he could take no more. Scaletta is now 7-1, an impressive record, while Kandle suffers his first loss after going 4-0 in his previous fights.

Fernando Ruiz vs Katsu Kazuhiro

Welterweight MMA Action

Katsu Kazuhiro is apparently a descendant of an actual samurai family. I won’t front, that’s pretty badass. Too bad it didn’t help him in this fight. Other than some minor clinch work, this was all stand up for the whole 1:37. It ended with a brutal uppercut from Ruiz that separated Katsi from his conscience and dropped him to 5-3. Fernando is now 8-2 and the Rio de Janeiro native seemed comfortable in his RXC debut.

Pyry Kontio vs Walton Kunz

Featherweight MMA Action

This ended up being a lot closer than I expected. While Kontio ultimately ended up victorious, Kunz had a competitive first round in which he actually reversed position and got on top of Kontio. However, Finland’s Favorite Featherweight (That’s my personal nickname for him shut up) brought the hammer into round two with dominant ground and pound. Kunz’s record in now 9-7 while Pyry earned another chance at the Featherweight championship. His record sits at 13-5 after a two fight losing streak.

Kavela Vettenranta vs Gleb Zheglov

Light-Heavyweight Championship Fight

Vettenranta might be the most dominant champion in our entire organization. He’s got the skills to pay the bills in a division that can’t seem to keep up. He savaged Zheglov, who fought and lost to Ukko Metso in a middleweight fight previously, with a takedown and a Kimura that forced a tap out in 1:38 of round 1. Zheglov, now 12-4, will stay at Light-Heavyweight for a little while longer while Kavela, who sits at 14-4, awaits his next defense. One can hope the next person he fights will put up at least a bit of a struggle.

Nate Gonzalez vs Hop Sing Jung

Lightweight Championship Fight

Oh let the controversy begin. The highly anticipated Championship encounter ended in a questionable decision in favor of Jung. The clinch was where Jung seemed most comfortable, as he held up Gonzalez up close several times. However, Gonzalez landed significantly more strikes and even got a takedown. However, Jung, now 18-7 won via unanimous decision, getting scorecards of 48-47 and 2 50-45 scorecards. Thank God these two are having a rematch soon, because Gonzalez, who is 11-4, needs a shot at redemption.

Ukko Metso vs Andy Fitzgerald

Middleweight MMA Action

Dang, what a fight and what a beatdown from Fitzgerald. Andy earned a title shot in dominant way by beating down Metso in near perfect fashion. And when I say perfect, I mean he only missed 1 combo. Everything else was a homerun shot and the fact that Metso managed to go into a third round is quite impressive. He didn’t last long, as the finish came 5 seconds into round 3 after dropping Ukko with a left hook and follow up ground and pound. Metso, after 2 straight wins, is now 14-4. Fitzgerald will be looking for revenge against current champion Rocco Antonio Saffredi, and he’ll be bringing a 12-3 record into their third encounter.

Papa Shango vs Alfonso Cabral

Super-Heavyweight Super Fight

That’s right folks, we got a superfight on our hands, as heavyweight champion took on Alfonso Cabral in the co-main event of the evening. Cabral would make the master of the Shango Tango regret his decision within a round. He dominated the clinch game and punched Shango until he ultimately wilted under the pressure, bringing his record to 20-3. Shango didn’t lose his belt, but his record is now 13-4.

Don Julio Cesar Chavez vs Peter Potter

Welterweight Title Fight

40 seconds. That was the time it took for Chavez to pull guard, lock in a triangle, and force the former champ Potter to tap out. 40 seconds. Honestly I’m still in shock. I expected a close, back and forth fight, but Chavez showed his championship savvy and proved that his position as one of the best in the world. Don Julio’s record now sits at 13-4, while Potter will look to rebound from this loss and improve his 15-4 record. Still in shock from this.

Post Fight Bonuses

Fight of the Night- Andy Fitzgerald vs Ukko Metso

This wasn’t really a typical fight of the night. Most would hear that and think of two dudes whaling on each other and not worrying about damage. In this case, Fitzgerald wailed on Metso while not being concerned with the damage he was causing. Props to Ukko for remaining standing, but this was all Andy.

Knockout of the Night-Vito Scaletta

I got a good feeling with this Scaletta kid. He’s 2-0 in RXC and 2-0 with post fight bonuses. Both indicate that Vito has the potential to be a major player in this sport. His extinguishing of the previously undefeated Blue Kandle is an additional good sign.

Submission of the Night-Don Julio Cesar Chavez

40 seconds. I’m still lost on that. Chavez proved to be a true champion with a first round triangle choke submission over former champion Peter Potter in the main event of the night.

Conclusion

RXC might not have sold out University Park, but 13,381 attendance ain’t nothing to sneeze at. There were surprise finishes, controversial outcomes, and a look into the future of the sport. If you enjoyed King of Smack, then you’ll look forward to RXC 6, where Issumater Tariaksuq will defend his featherweight championship against Pyry Kontio and in the Main event (as of this writing time) Hop Sing Jung will defend the Lightweight championship against the man he just “beat” for the title in Nate Gonzalez. I can’t wait for that fight, and a week (or however long a week in MMA Tycoon time is) has never felt so long.

Revolution XC 5

King of Smack!

MMA is a brutal sport, and it requires a certain level of bravery in order to get into a cage with another grown man, or woman I dont judge, who wants to hurt you in order to make money.

Fighters deserve more respect than they seem to get, and I'm going to try to provide fair and balanced reviews from now on to show my respect. Whether youre 100-0 or 0-100, Mixed Martial Artists are the toughest people in sports, you got to give credit to people who are willing to have an occupation where they are guaranteed to be hurt.

Enough of me though, lets get on to the event, which took place in front of 13,381 people who got to witness 3 title fights, including Don Julio Cesar Chavez looking to go 2-0 over former champ Peter Potter, Dominate Light-Heavyweight Champion Kaleva Vettenranta taking on Gleb Zheglov, and perhaps most anticipated (and unexpected), Nate Gonzalez, representing Compton and all alterations of the F-word, taking on Elvis the Fighter himself, Hop Sing Jung.

Is that it, HELL NO! Weve got Heavyweight Champion Papa Shango going up to Super-Heavyweight for a super fight with Alfonso Cabral, and a #1 Contenders fight between Ukko Metso and Andy Fitzgerald in the Middleweight division. Without further ado, lets get to the windpipe crushing, strike central highlights, and comeback kid moments that can only be found in Revolution XC!

Dang, this is why its not not a good idea to go to the ground with a brown belt in BJJ.

Scaletta dominated in both the clinch and in the stand up, as he battered his wax inspired (even Im not sure what I just typed), opponent with strikes until he could take no more. Tycoon Talk

with guest

Derrick "Pretty Boy" King

JT- hello Derrick welcome to tycoon talk

DK- Thanks for having me Jay. Excited to be here!

JT- You just signed to RXC you are booked on a upcoming card.
what do you think of the org so far?

DK- So far I have enjoyed my stay here in the ORG and the professionalism that you guys have showed me.

I hope to cause a lot of movement here and prove how good of an fighter I am.

JT-How do you think the other fighters match up with the fighters you have fought in other orgs?

DK- I think I have an great chance of causing myself to quickly move up the rankings here in Revolution XC.

I know that there are warriors I have too face too get through to get too where I want to be but I think I have the skills to do it.

I have already fought in two title matches where I was not at the top of my game and was too cocky.

I have tasted gold but know I want it for myself.

JT-how do you see your debut in RXC going? what do you think are your keys to victory?

DK-I think that my debut versus Alberto will be an knockout victory in the first round.

I just think that he has weaknesses that I have seen over my countless hours spent looking at his last two fights.

But of course no fight is easy and I won’t let him take me down.

JT-where are you training at for the fight?

DK-I am currently training here at Roosters Coop in Las Vegas.

This gym is where I feel most comfortable and they bring the anger and aggression out of me everyday.

I am starting to take my career serious and am starting to actually workout.

In the past I did not workout because I was partying way too hard.

To be honest I still need too work on that, but it’s hard to stay focused when girls are jumping on this chiseled man.

I started this new regiment where I have to run 2 miles everyday wearing an breathing machine that causes breathing harder.

I’m ready to fucking dominate!

JT-MR.King is there anything you want to add sir?

DK-I have a few things I wanted to add Jay.

The asshole who owned Casino Fight Nights left his ORG and left us fighters looking for a new place to stay and that was fucking ridiculous.

I am glad to find my new home here!

Also Issumator you better kiss that belt and snuggle it close, because soon you will be giving it to me!

ICON Fight NIGHT 1

ROCO's Review

No folks, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. We got a new event name going on and now ICON Fight NIGHT is here to entertain.

We got big names on the main card and up and comers on the lower card, with the highlight being a rematch to the most controversial fight of the year between “Elvis The Fighter” Hop Sing Jung and Nate “Cholo Gangster” Gonzalez with the Lightweight Championship on the line.

In the co-main event, literal ass kicker Issumater Tariaksuq will look to defend his newly won Featherweight Belt on the line against Finland’s Favorite Featherweight Pyry Kontio.

Veteran Jake Belcher will look to stop the hype train of 2 time National Jr Olympic Pistol & Rifle competition gold medalist Marty Robbins, and Former Champion Peter Potter looks to get back on track after a devastating loss to Don Julio Cesar Chavez.

Without further ado, let’s get to the Prospect Rising, Jaw Dropping, Championship Caliber action that only Revolution XC can provide.

Arturo “Bad Boy” Vidal vs Saif “Fatty” Swaleh

Light-Heavyweight MMA Action

Our first fight of the night featured the debuts of two Light-Heavyweight prospects, and true be told, it wasn’t that interesting. Vidal controlled the clinch with elbows and Swaleh was most active in the striking department, where he hit the air more than his opponent.

Vidal could be one to watch, as our Light-heavyweight Division is getting bigger. I don’t see anyone taking out Vettenranta in a long while, but it is nice to see the future grow before our eyes. Saif’s pro debut could have gone worse, but starting out on a loss still has to sting. Vidal can be happy to keep his undefeated 5-0 record alive.

“Pretty” Peter Potter vs Tapio Sammalkorpi

Welterweight MMA Action

This took me completely by surprise. Potter, one of the most popular fighters on our roster, fought second on the card.

This must have lit a fire underneath him, as he once again took Sammalkorpi behind the woodshed, this time in round 2.

Tapio had early success with two takedowns, but didn’t do much besides that.

Potter meanwhile dominated the clinch, once again scoring perfect hits that wilted Tapio to a TKO finish before the 3 minute mark of round 2.

Now 16-4, Potter probably has his eyes set on revenge against the champion Chavez, while Sammalkorpi is now on a 4 fight losing streak. At 15-9, he’s going to have to do something about the predicament he’s in.

Jose Blanco vs Lamar “The Baller” Allen

Featherweight MMA Action

Looking at Blanco’s fighter pic during this fight is an interesting experience in of itself. Too bad profile pics don’t win fights. Lamar and Blanco traded strikes for a while before Allen rocked Jose with a big right hand. This led to what thought was the best moment of the fight when Blanco literally slapped Allen in the face. Seconds later he was on his ass after another big right hand.

A third right from Allen was all she wrote, as he won his third pro fight via TKO. Blanco, who had just lost his pro debut, argued with the stoppage, but falling over after standing back up isn’t a good way to in that argument.

Tony “No” Love vs Gunnar Tromp

Middleweight MMA Action

Well, I guess Tony asked for it, as Gunnar showed him “No Love” by taking him down and choking him out before the round ended. This was expected to be a striking affair, but Tromp played it smart with a couple of takedowns that changed the fights trajectory. The Iceland native now sits at 4-1, while Love’s record is 1-1.

Vincent DeFarina vs Bill “Blood” Brown

Light-Heavyweight MMA Action

Holy Shit! Brown must have gone to the “Homer Simpson School of Defense” because Vincent beat the Crap out of him the cage. Whether in the clinch or on the feet, DeFarina turned Brown into really hard Pinata. Here’s the weird part though, Brown won. Brown got a takedown, and even after getting reversed, he attempted submission after submission until he got an armbar locked in that had Vincent screaming in pain and tapping. Brown is now 4-1 and I don’t know if there’s A tougher person on the roster. DeFarina is now 1-1.

Kyle Long vs “The Great White” Chandinho Silva

Heavyweight MMA Action

Despite a massive height and weight advantage, Silva couldn’t capitalize on his chance against Long, who took out the massive South African in the second round. A close first round was followed up by Long scoring huge punches in the second round, dropping Silva twice to take him out within close to a minute. Long, fresh off two losses to Vettenranta, is now 13-7 and Might be looking to make a run at Heavyweight. Silva is now 4-1, but he still has time to find success in RXC.

Blanco Russo vs Zui Quan “Drunken Fist” Tso

Heavyweight MMA Action

This went as expected, as Tso made quick work of Russo within the 2 minute mark. Blanco was completely ineffective, and Tso TKO’d him with huge punches. Now 11-5, Zui rebounded nicely from his loss to Troy Lancaster. Russo’s record is below .500, at 4-5.

Marty “Big Iron” Robbins vs Jake “The Talent” Belcher

Welterweight MMA Action

Marty Robbins has all the potential to be a star in Mixed Martial Arts.

He might not have won tonight, but the fact that he probably would have won a decision had Belcher not finished him in the third round is astonishing. Robbins dominated on the feet, scoring big punch combinations.

Belcher fought by way of insanity, by which I mean he did the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Belcher attempted 43 takedowns.

43! He scored 5. It ultimately didn’t matter, as he finished off Robbins with ground and pound from the mount. His record now sits at 13-6. Robbins showed great striking and takedown defense, and I truly believe that he’ll be back before too long. We all lose at some point, and It’s always good to get it out of the way early.

“Arctic Frost” Issumater Tariaksuq vs Pyry Kontio

Featherweight Championship Fight

Tariaksuq is like the ultimate one trick pony. You know that going into a fight he’s going to try to kick your head off, but no matter how much you prepare, it’s still a difficult task.

Case in point, Pyry Kontio started strong with a takedown, but the end was written at 17 seconds of round two with a head kick that rocked him and follow up punches that sealed the deal.

Tariaksuq’s record now sits at 13-4, and this performance solidifies him as a champion in RXC. Finland’s Favorite Featherweight will be looking to rebound next time he gets into the cage and improve his 13-6 record.

Hop Sing “Hyun Ae” Jung vs Nate “Cholo Gangsta” Gonzalez

Lightweight Title Fight

The first time these two fought it was one of the most controversial fights of all time, now both had questions to answer.

Could Jung legitimately beat Nate?

Could Gonzalez finish Hop Sing before the final bell sounded?

Unfortunately for the Compton native, he couldn’t finish Jung tonight and once again lost via decision. Unlike last time, I truly feel like Jung won this one.

His clinch game was still on point, and most importantly, he scored big takedowns and attempted 17 submissions.

Nate definitely landed more strikes, but Jung reached into his championship heart and scored a big, and unanimous win.

“Elvis the Fighter” is now 19-7, and his opponent now sits at 11-5.

Gonzalez showed class afterwards on Buzz by congratulating Jung, though he did do it in a very Nate way. Never change Gonzalez Bros, never change.

Post Fight Bonuses

Fight of the Night-Hop Sing Jung vs Nate Gonzalez

The sheer hype that went into this fight was enough to help it score this bonus. While I don’t personally agree with the award, I can’t doubt that in South Korea there are probably still people dancing and celebrating in the Streets.

Knockout of the Night-Peter Potter

Sheer Perfection. Potter showed up tonight in a big way by dismantling Tapio Sammalkorpi with strikes until he couldn’t go on. “Pretty” is a damn good description was the performance seen tonight.

Submission of the Night-Bill Brown

Mad Props to Bill tonight, who got the beating of his life but still managed to score a big armbar victory against Vincent DeFranca. $5000 dollars will definitely dull the pain from the beating he received.

Conclusion

In front of a sold out Venice Beach, Jung and Tariaksuq proved themselves to be true champions.

We also saw the emergence of several future contenders, especially in the form of Marty Robbins, who might have lost tonight but showed more in defeat then most people show in victory.

I can’t wait for the next event, and I especially can’t wait for Revolution Island, which I will be hosting.

Don’t worry people who have enjoyed my style of writing (at least I hope you have), unless told other wise by Mr.Jay Tycoon himself, I’ll still continue to write reviews for Revolution XC events.

See you folks later, when Revolution 911 comes around.

That event will have 3 Championship fights, including Don Julio Cesar Chavez against surprise challenger Fernando Luiz, Rocco Antonio Saffredi looking to defend his belt again against Andy Fitzgerald, and most interestingly, Papa Shango taking on Light-Heavyweight Champion Kaleva Vettenranta in a Heavyweight Championship Super Fight!

These events can’t come soon enough.
