SP ICON 2.0: Ground Zero Preview and Predictions:

Prelims:

Dark Dark vs Brock Marciano:

A fight between heavyweights to kick off the card, but this will not be traditional heavyweight slug off. Brock Marciano; despite being TKO’d in his last fight, has proved to be a very decent wrestler, and considering the rumours about Dark Dark’s lack of training, that should be more than enough in this fight.

Brock Marciano via Unanimous Decision

Maurice Von Fenwa vs Requis Von Fenwa:

A fight between two guys, who are cousins/brothers and are out of the same management stable, there will be some heavy leather thrown in this fight. Manager Grant Brophy will be watching on intensely; as he ruthlessly forced these relatives to slug it out. One of these guys will stay under his management, whilst one of them may leave, based on performance of course. On paper they are very evenly matched and it may come down to whose chin cracks first, but I have to give the advantage to the lighter, faster Maurice on this occasion.

Maurice Von Fenwa via KO (Round 1)

Jay Lyu vs Johnny Ray:

A match in the Light Heavyweight Division, between a guy who lost to a Featherweight in his first fight (Jay Lyu) vs some other Light Heavyweight (Johnny Ray). Ironically, I favour Jay Lyu here, because he specialises in Muay Thai, whereas Ray is a jack of all trades, and those type of guys don’t tend to cut it in MMA Tycoon, I say Lyu gets a late finish.

Lyu via TKO (Round 3)

Ace Newbury vs Didier Leroy:

An undercard match between two guys who have a background in striking, I’ve heard Leroy has some mad power in his hands, but we haven’t seen it yet, because he hasn’t had a fight yet. Newbury showed he has some wrestling in his locker by taking his opponent down and dry-humping him on route to his first win. I think he does the same again, but this time I’m betting he submits the debutant.

Newbury via Submission (Round 1)

Main Card:

Anthony Johnson vs Duncan Macleod:

Here we have two debutants, one of them is known as an excellent amateur Brazilian Jiu Jitsu practitioner, a brown belt at 18 years old, while little is known about the other. Presumably Macleod can win this fight if it stays standing, as Johnson has no striking experience at all. That said, I think this makes Johnson more dangerous, I see him tying up with Macleod and relentlessly trying for the takedown or just pulling guard. I don’t think Macleod can stop this game plan, being a rookie himself, so I think a submission is inevitable here.

Anthony Johnson via Submission (Round 1)

Jim Dangle vs Josh Koscheck

So here we have another brown belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, welterweight Josh Koscheck, who got mauled on the ground in his first fight; however he was facing a Heavyweight in that fight, one who also has equally impressive grappling ability. I think he takes this against relative no hope Jim Dangle. Koscheck should have a slight edge on his feet to go along with the massive edge on the ground, I don’t see how he has a problem here.

Koscheck via Submission (Round 2)

Joey Karate vs Jonas Lofmark:

A typical striker vs grappler matchup, while Joey Karate has a background in Muay Thai, and I’m guessing… Karate, Lofmark was an outstanding wrestler in his home nation of Sweden, and at basic levels of that game, wrestling is known to win out over many other disciplines, sorry Karate, but I think you’re getting Fitched here.

Jonas Lofmark via Unanimous Decision

Light Heavyweight Championship – Vincent Cluster vs I Am Terrible

Two strong Light Heavyweights in a five round scrap; to crown the inaugural Light Heavyweight Champion for SP ICON 2.0. Vincent Cluster is a solid fighter, and he’s certainly tough. He showed his chin in his first fight when he battled his way to an awkward, clinch heavy decision win. I Am Terrible; despite his name, looks to be a very handy fighter, landing with vicious elbows in the clinch left one opponent too cut up to continue, and another tapping out on the floor due to them. Cluster will not be as easy to finish, but I still think terrible comes out on top here, it will just take him longer. Eventually Cluster’s chin will give out under those savage elbows.

I Am Terrible via TKO (Round 3)

MAIN EVENT:

Heavyweight Championship - Makanaakua Moliakalaniikeola vs Alton Maxin

So Altin squares off with the man who has the most unpronounceable name in all of sports. Altin is a decent wrestler, as he showed in his first fight with some mad lay and pray skills. He is the lighter man in this fighter and appears to have an extremely sturdy chin. The problem is, he showed all of this against a guy who wasn’t really a threat. In this fight; against Makanaakua; Altin will get messed up on the feet if he is unable to force a ground fight. It will be all about if he can get that takedown or not. I’m gonna say Altin has some trouble in the striking here, getting beaten up by a superior striker, however, once he gets it down, this is all him. Makanaakua; has no chance on the ground, so it’s all about if he can keep it standing long enough to score a knockout, because I don’t think the fight goes to decision. My money is on Altin, as we know what we’re getting with him, as he has had a fight already, he’ll wear him down on the ground and eventually snatch a submission.

Alton Maxin via Submission (Round 2)

SP ICON 2.0: The Next Chapter Preview & Predictions

Prelims:

Wally Markberg vs Monty Fernandez

Preview:

An opening fight between two guys who lost their MMA debuts, they will both be looking to rebound here. Monty Fernandez got schooled in a boring clinch-fest in his first fight, he wasn’t able to mount any offence; with his back against the cage the whole fight. Markberg was submitted in his first fight, however he did actually win two rounds quite convincingly, showing some good wrestling with takedowns and top control. This leads me to think Markberg will take this fight, although he also had very little offence from the ground, so I don’t believe it will be a finish, Markberg via lay and pray.

Wally Markberg via Unanimous Decision

Marvin Gaye vs Clubber Lang

Preview:

A fight in the Lightweight division; that whilst not featuring a particularly high quality of fighter, should be a fun scrap to watch. Marvin Gaye lost his first fight in a competitive decision, in which he showed he clearly favours the ground game, with no interest in striking at all. Clubber Lang was taken down and submitted in the first round, so he’ll be looking to keep this one standing, I’m hearing he’s a brawler with a bit of pop in his hands. This should be a back and forth fight, with Gaye’s takedowns and ground game giving Lang problems in the early going, but eventually, Gaye’s cowardice towards the striking game will catch up to him, he’ll get caught with a combination, he’ll go down and the referee will pull Lang off of him.

Clubber Lang via TKO (Round 2)

Cheech Gona vs Tiki McGee

Preview:

This middleweight matchup is quite simple. Tiki McGee has a background in wrestling; will want to get the takedown and ground and pound his opponents, doing very little else. Gona is a BJJ practitioner who has no route to victory other than forcing a ground fight and a submission. Gona’s BJJ is far more advanced than McGee’s, so a McGee takedown followed by a Submission from the guard of Gona seems to be the order of events here.

Cheech Gona via Submission (Round 1)

Brutus Leagatius vs Jeff Dahmer

Preview:

Two powerful Heavyweights who specialise in Muay Thai making their debut. It’s hard to predict because we know so little about either of them, I think it is a safe bet to say one of them wins by knockout. When you factor in that Leagatius is managed by Peel Steel, and Dahmer is managed by…. Some other guy, I think it is a safe bet to say that Leagatius wins by knockout, early.

Brutus Leagatius via KO (Round 1)

Grogory Damkratov vs Snoop Blue

Preview:

On paper it looks an evenly matched fight, but it is not likely to play out that way. Snoop Blue’s best hope of winning would seem to be takedowns and ground control; as he is the better wrestler, but a submission is unlikely. Damkratov is a substantially harder hitter, add to that that he is likely to be almost 30 pounds heavier on fight night and it doesn’t look so good for Blue. Blue may have some initial success embracing the grind, but it is only so long before he gets hit by the bigger man. Blue showed good heart coming back to win from being rocked in his last fight, but I think this time he will stay down.

Grogory Damkratov via TKO (Round 1)

Main Card:

Johnny Leopold vs Clarence Morrow

Preview:

A Heavyweight fight comes together here; between a jack of all trades in Clarence Morrow, and an excellent wrestler without much going for him in Johnny Leopold. I see Leopold getting the takedowns here, Morrow’s guard will be good enough to stay in the fight, but not good enough to finish or mount significant offence himself. Leopold wins via sloppy Wrestlefuck.

Johnny Leopold via Unanimous Decision

Mark Homicide vs Champions Fight

Preview:

A fight which is set to be a close scrap, Homicide is a better boxer, Fight should have an advantage in the clinch, Homicide’s wrestling is superior, but Fight should have more of a submission threat on the ground. All of these factors weighed up, two guys who have never fought before, I think we’ll be optimistic and say both guys get their licks in, during an entertaining scrap, with Homicide getting a slight edge due to a style a bit better suited for MMA.

Mark Homicide via Split Decision

Ury Dikunov vs Ryszard Nowak

Preview:

Two guys who’ve both tested the proverbial MMA waters with one fight under their belts. Dikonov finished his debut by winning in just under two minutes with some mean GNP, whereas Nowak got clocked in just over 30 seconds, turning his lights out. We haven’t seen a whole lot of either of these fighters, which makes it unpredictable. They are both grapplers primarily, so it could be a story of whoever gets the takedown and holds their opponent down. The only thing I can use to predict this is Nowak’s extremely negative reaction to being hit in his first fight, he was on Queer Street after one big shot. My money is on Dikonov eventually taking Nowak down, and landing a couple of shots to the dome, which will have Nowak covering up for dear life, and the referee scrambling to preserve Nowak’s safety.

Ury Dikunov via TKO (Round 2)

Hugo Freitas vs Joey Karate

Preview:

Joey Karate has to be disappointed, all that hype around his first MMA fight and he ended up lasting all of 1 minute 18 seconds in his debut, before succumbing to a simple, but brutally effective GNP strategy from hotshot wrestler Jonas Lofmark. The bad news for Karate is that his next opponent will be employing a similar, ground orientated game plan. The good news for Karate is that Hugo Freitas is 1. Making his debut and 2. Not as good of a wrestler as Lofmark. Freitas does not have the same amateur credentials as a stud like Lofmark, but apparently he wipes the floor with everyone in the gym at Cozad MMA Hilo, so he shouldn’t be underestimated. I think this will be Karate’s coming out party, as he steps back into the win column by beating a tough, rugged, but ultimately overmatched Hugo Freitas. Karate will use his superior striking to pick his opponent apart standing with footwork and kicks, he should also be able to stop enough takedowns to win a convincing decision.

Joey Karate via Unanimous Decision

Middleweight Championship – Happy Face vs Dominic Carter

Preview:

So here we have it; two guys, in their second ever MMA fight, fighting for a belt. Only on MMATycoon.com can we see such wonders and atrocities. Dominic Carter won a convincing decision in his first fight, showing some good grappling skills in the process. Not much has been seen of his striking game, but I’m sure we’ll see it in this fight, as Happy Face is a very good wrestler also. The worrying thing for Carter in this fight has to be the dynamite which appears to be in Face’s hands. In his first fight, face took his opponent down, quickly stacked the guard and unloaded with some vicious ground and pound. What’s even more concerning though, is that we are told by sources at Cozad MMA Los Angeles that Face’s greatest strength is boxing. This could spell trouble for Carter, and we could be forgiven for wondering if he has any advantages at all in this fight. These guys can both take each other down I believe, but Face has shown to be a more dominant force so far. I think they will have a close clinch/ground battle for the first round and a half. They will soon start to tire, and Face’s superior boxing will take over. A late flurry results in a knockout victory, and the inaugural Middleweight Champion now has the stupidest name in MMA Tycoon history.

Happy Face via TKO (Round 3)

Build up Preview and Predictions:

Prelims:

Vincent Cluster vs Alen Zalac

Preview:

Vincent Cluster is the better fighter here; he is the more well-rounded fighter and on paper wins the fight comfortably by leg kicking and clinching his way to a decision. Zalac has an excellent chin and a puncher’s chance. Cluster will not be finishing him. I’m gonna be bold and say Zalac cashes in on that puncher’s chance and scores a knockout victory here.

Alen Zalac via TKO (Round 2)

Steve Mayweather vs Oscar Gutierrez

Preview:

Both guys have had one fight and lost it. Mayweather was knocked cold in less than 30 seconds; whereas Gutierrez was subbed just inside the first frame. Judging that we have seen a bit Gutierrez’s game, he seems to be a half decent boxer and made his opponent bleed in the short time they were standing. Mayweather seems to have a weak chin judging on the fight we saw, so a coming out party and first round stoppage is on the way for Gutierrez.

Oscar Gutierrez via TKO (Round 1)

Ricky Anderson vs Billy Hope Jr

Preview:

A heavyweight fight between two boxers, so I think we can line up the third stoppage in a row on the card. Billy Hope Jr has more power and a better chin, so in a battle where they both come out swinging, Ricky Anderson’s chin is likely to give out first here.

Billy Hope Jr via KO (Round 1)

Titus Caecilius Rufus vs Archibald Knox

Preview:

An interesting one here, as submission specialist in Rufus goes up against vicious clinch wrestler Archibald Knox. Archibald Knox’s natural strategy seems to be to take guys to the ground and land strikes. We saw this in his first fight, but he changed this when he saw his opponent was throwing up submissions, and managed to beat him to a pulp inside the clinch. Going to the ground will not be smart here, as Caecilius is a high level brown belt and is excellent at throwing his hips up for submissions. You would think Knox’s manager Peel Steel will know this and try to avoid the ground game at all costs, this puts the emphasis on Rufus to try and force things to the ground, and we don’t know how good he is at doing that. Still I’m gonna go with the upset here, Knox beats the holy hell out of Rufus in the first round via his clinch game. Then in the second round he finds himself wrapped up in a submission on the ground.

Titus Caecilius Rufus via Submission (Round 2)

Main Card:

Hugh Janus Jr vs Antoine Griezmann

Preview:

A fight between two guys making their SP ICON debuts here. Antoine Griezmann has one professional MMA fight, he lost via submission. Hugh Janus Jr has also had one fight, he won via submissions. When you look at the discrepancy between their abilities on the ground, you have to think Hugh Janus Jr has a big advantage. History repeats itself here.

Hugh Janus Jr via Submission (Round 1)

Lightweight Championship - Grogory Damkratov vs Mr Noodle

Preview:

An excellent fight for the vacant Lightweight Championship between two of the better fighters since the reset of SP ICON. Grogory Damkratov is an excellent striker who has finished both his opponents in shockingly quick fashion. Noodle is a wrestler with terrific GNP and heart, who has beaten Marcelo Garcia, a brown belt in jiu jitsu in what was mostly a ground fight. This speaks volumes about how good Noodle’s top game is. Damkratov will not want to be on the bottom here. This is how I see it playing out. Damkratov rocks Noodle early, as he has done with his other opponents, only Noodle will survive the flurry, weather the storm and get the takedown to maintain top control for the remainder of the round. In round two, Noodle will get the takedown almost straight away, and Damkratov will feel the GNP that has been talked about in Noodle’s camp. Noodle eventually ends the fight with a flurry of GNP in that same round. It will be a shame for Damkratov but he will almost certainly be included in The Rumble on The Rocks Tournament, of which the winner will be granted a title shot.

Mr Noodle via TKO (Round 2)

Heavyweight Championship:

Alton Maxin © vs Brutus Leagatius

Preview:

A bout for the Heavyweight Championship between Alton Maxin and Brutus Leagatius. This is an unfortunate mismatch for the champ. His only chance is the takedown; Leagatius will not be taken down or held down easily. Maxin may survive the initial flurry, but Leagatius is a dangerous man, I think Maxin is going to sleep here.

Brutus Leagatius via KO (Round 1)

Joey Karate vs Evan Zoplias

Preview:

This Light Heavyweight battle somewhat resembles a battle of flashiness vs efficiency. Joey Karate has amassed quite a fan following in his first three fights, although we have not seen much of him, he has more fights than minutes inside the cage. He has shown lethal head kicks, no doubt a large part of his popularity. Win or lose here; his willingness to step up at short notice should see him get a place at the Rumble on The Rocks Tournament, whereas his opponent may need a win in order to participate. Don’t sleep on Zoplias here though, he is the first strong wrestler Karate has faced since he was mauled by Jonas Lofmark. Zoplias has a very capable clinch game, and he is a grinder with a good chin. He may be capable of digging an underhook; putting Karate’s back against the fence, and striking from close in. The criticism from his first fight was that he didn’t land anything meaningful from the clinch. I believe Karate will be able to land big strikes; Zoplias’ chin will hold up and he will be able to establish the clinch at times. Both men will have their moments, but Karate’s more significant shots will earn him the edge in a close encounter.

Joey Karate via Split Decision

Light Heavyweight Championship – Jonas Lofmark vs I am Terrible ©

Preview:

An anticipated Light Heavyweight matchup between the inaugural Light Heavyweight Champion, I am Terrible, and dominant wrestler Jonas Lofmark. I am Terrible has looked good so far with his imposing clinch game and devastating elbows; Lofmark will have to be careful getting on the inside, as those elbows are damaging. Jonas Lofmark is imposing himself though, and his domination of Anthony Johnson was a great showcase of his skills. He dominated a BJJ Brown Belt on the ground for the entire contest, even trying to submit Johnson at times. His top game is downright scary. On top of this, his hands are improving, he showed serious power when he knocked the granite chinned Johnson down in the first round of their fight. It will take a special mixed martial artist to stop the run Lofmark is on, and I do not think Terrible is that guy. I think Lofmark will use his unpredictability to freeze Terrible, he will then proceed to take him down, and give him a serious GNP beating, on the way to becoming the new Light Heavyweight Champion.

Jonas Lofmark via TKO (Round 1)

SP ICON 2.0: Strike Three Preview and Predictions:

Prelims:

Topper Harley vs Duncan Macleod

Preview:

Kicking off the card here is a bout in what is currently the most talent rich division in the org. Lots of Hard hitting Light Heavyweights, Joey Karate, Jonas Lofmark, Evan Zoplias, and then there’s these two… Topper Harley should have the advantage here, in a battle between two strikers, the better technical boxer should have a significant edge. That is, unless Macleod can land one of his savage head kicks. I don’t see it happening. Harley picks him apart to an eventual stoppage here.

Topper Harley via TKO (Round 1)

BJ Penn vs Didier Leroy

Preview:

A long awaited debut for BJ Penn, after a couple of declined fights and some much needed training time, he will finally step into the cage. It comes against a tough, in unspectacular foe in Didier Leroy. We haven’t seen a whole lot of Leroy, he has had a draw and he got stopped, so there is a lot of unknown about this fight. We can only go off what we know about Leroy and what we’ve heard about Penn. If this fight ends up on the ground, Penn is taking it, there is little doubt about it. However; I think Leroy is a better striker with relatively stubborn takedown defence. So it will be a gritty stand up battle, while Penn will have his moments, Leroy will do enough to take a win down the stretch here, but both men will still compete at Rumble on The Rocks, so Penn will get a chance to put it right.

Didier Leroy via Unanimous Decision

Emmanuel Goldstein vs Dylan Snow

Preview:

A debut for Emmanuel Goldstein in the Middleweight Division. A highly anticipated one for fans of the Parker Lewis Stable. Rumour has it, the Rebirth Lightweight Champion, Algernon Cadwallader wanted to corner Goldstein on his debut, but Chael Mir refused to let anybody from Rebirth in the building, due to the fierce rivalry growing between the two orgs. Anyways, back to the fight, Goldstein has an amateur kickboxing background, which should be enough in this fight. Dylan Snow’s first fight, whilst a clear decision win, was incredibly sloppy, I think Goldstein beats Snow to the punch, and Snow beats Goldstein to the floor.

Emmanuel Goldstein via TKO (Round 1)

Max Madwell vs George Tyson

Preview:

An interesting matchup in the Middleweight Division between Max Madwell and George Tyson. Tyson has showed he has good boxing and power in his first fight, however, he has also been outclassed in other aspects of MMA as shown in his second 2 fights. Madwell likes to box as well, however he can also grind in the clinch, which gives him the advantage of being the more well rounded fighter. It will depend on Madwell’s game plan; if he boxes with Tyson, he will likely get flat-lined, but if he can mix up his boxing with clinch and takedowns he might just cause his opponent some problems here. My prediction is a bit of a back and forth one, I think Tyson controls the early stages with his boxing, he might even land a big shot or two, but Madwell with weather the storm. Madwell will then engage in dirty boxing and try to score grinding takedowns along the fence. This will be just enough to win 2 out of 3 rounds in the end.

Max Madwell via Unanimous Decision

Anthony Johnson vs Quintus Octavian

Preview:

A typical striker vs grappler matchup, two fighters who will no doubt be looking to establish themselves at the top of the hierarchy at Rumble on The Rocks, a win here will give either fighter excellent momentum. Octavian is a debutant; and despite this, some in his close circle are saying he will be the man to beat Jonas Lofmark, and with his professional boxing background he should certainly be capable of making waves in MMA, will he beat Lofmark? Time will tell. Anthony Johnson will be looking to rebound from his own one sided beating at the hands of Lofmark. He showed excellent toughness, to take big shots, but will be disappointed not to have mounted more offence from the bottom in that fight. Here; he will need to be the aggressor in search of the takedown, as he is extremely unlikely to have any answer to Octavian’s hands. Equally, Octavian will know his takedown defence must be on point, he will have no answer to the brown belt’s submission skills on the mat. I’m gonna be a nuthugger/fanboy/bandwagoner here and side with the hype. Octavian has a great manager in Steel Peel, one capable of putting together a strategy strong enough to avoid the ground game of Johnson. I think Octavian fights a safe fight and picks him apart on the way to a clean sweep on the scorecards.

Quintus Octavian via Unanimous Decision

Main Card:

George Johnson vs Marcin Vanna

Preview:

A fight between striker and grappler, with Marcin Vanna the grappler; being thrust into the title shot conversation. It has been said that Vanna will be battling it out with Wally Markberg on this card to determine whose performance warrants a title shot more. With that said, Johnson is a bit of a sitting duck here, a striker with poor ground skills. It should be a formality for Vanna, who will establish his favourite position early, taking his opponents back and getting the tap to state his case.

Marcin Vanna via Submission (Round 1)

John Chester vs Oscar Stolt

Preview:

Another interesting fight here, a no.1 contender fight, where the winner will take on whoever emerges victorious from the main event on this card. I have been going back and forth with this fight, Stolt should be able to control the striking range at a distance, but we have only seen him in two fights, his last one was impressive, as his opponent tapped to strikes. However; he is facing a very good grappler in John Chester. Stolt is a slight favourite due to having the superior manager and the superior striking game. Stolt was taken down multiple times by Ronn Fuzzynuts Jr, who is a much lesser grappler than John Chester; and that is the deciding factor on my prediction, there is no getting away from it. If the fight hits the ground, it’s over for Stolt, I’m predicting it goes there; allowing Chester to pick up a slight upset, giving him a title shot, and sending Stolt into Rumble on The Rocks.

John Chester via Submission (Round 1)

Ury Dikunov vs Otto Dahl

Preview:

Another no.1 contender fight in the Heavyweight Division between GNP specialist Ury Dikunov, and powerful boxer Otto Dahl. Dikunov has been dominant so far, but faces a stiff challenge in Otto Dahl. My prediction here is a bit of a war, both men will have their moments in a close fight. Dikunov will get takedowns as per the gameplan for the fight, he may land some ground and pound, however I’m willing to predict that Otto Dahl’s defensive grappling ability and pace on the feet should be enough to sway the judges in his favour, it will not be easy though.

Otto Dahl via Unanimous Decision

Wally Markberg vs Jim Dangle

Preview:

Another fight set up in a WWE-esque manner, with Markberg and Marcin Vanna in a battle to have the more impressive performance and obtain a title shot. Thus Markberg will be expected to walk through Jim Dangle; which he will do, if he uses his wrestling ability to takedown and GNP his way to a victory. That being said; Markberg has not been doing this of late, with a tendency to rely on his punching power and getting into brawls on the feet. If he does this, it could allow Dangle a way in, as Dangle is powerful and has proved to be dangerous in the clinch. I think Markberg fights a smart fight and mixes it up taking Dangle down on route to a late finish with GNP.

Wally Markberg via TKO (Round 3)

Middleweight Championship – Mark Homicide vs Dominic Carter ©

Preview:

A potentially close fight for the Middleweight Championship. Dominic Carter brings the slow burn to the cage; a grinding wrestling and jiu jitsu style which has taken him to 2-0 so far. Homicide is also a good wrestler, but that’s not what he’s been using so far inside the octagon. He is an explosive, fast twitch athlete, and he has won 2 fights by throwing bombs and exploding with strikes. He is not the most technical striker, but he has a serious power advantage here, and I believe this will be a problem for Carter. Carter may get a takedown or two against the cage, however, Homicide has shown good ability to explode back to his feet. I see Homicide eventually exploding and catching Carter with some crazy strikes to take the belt.

Mark Homicide via KO (Round 1)

Jimmy "The Big Deal" Ryan

"Hey dudes, just got here from Fight Hard MMA. I showed up and trained hard for a tournament and finished all 6 of my opponents they gave me - most of which were first round KOs. Somehow I left with zero trophies, awards, and fight night bonuses - despite being the all time leader in wins, KOs and fights.

Anywho, I'm excited to join a legitimate organization and I look forward to getting myself some hardware ASAP.

I'll be watching every fight this weekend very closely.

Good luck, fellas!"

MAX MADWELL:

I joined this organisation with the hopes of becoming 170lbs champion but I had a great offer to fight at 185. Despite it not being my natural weight I say I'm doing pretty well. I plan on winning this tournament then moving to 170 and cleaning out that division. I hope to be a two weight world champion at some point and I feel Steel Penn is the best place I can do that.

Octavian" I'm easy the best challenge for the champ, I got chin, confidence, striking and a scary ass ground game. You can't be handing out title shots and overlooking my fight rating at 100%. That dude Ryan folded like a bitch, and some other bitch has been promised a shot, he can fight me for a title shot then his manager can sack his ass. Ryan was woeful."

"Disrespect and a meagre 2-1 record wont get you a title shot in this division. Scary ground game? Thought I saw you tapping a few fights ago. Wasn't that you? A win over me earns you a title shot and I love shutting ignorant people up. Come get it."

Octavian "Ryan you're a joke, disrespect my ass boy. You walked in with no fights in this org because your manager swaps spit with the org owner. Then against a ground guy with shit striking you get put to sleep. Get a win in this org then come back to me. Getting stiffed by a respectable boxer makes me think within 2 fights you'll have a new manager because you're chin is shite.

Now De Silva, hadn't heard of this dude but he looks like a 26 year old fighting style, sub spammer, ? cool , good luck with that. I got tools and I'll light him up on the feet then choke him out when he has to panic sub spam."

"Your pillow fists wont faze me at all, I've been in this game a lot longer than you and the only time you faced a guy who wasn't a white belt no with BJJ experience you tapped out. Better hope you train your boxing and pray you get a quick KO, because once I get a hold of you and drag you to the ground, I will make you cry."

MAX MADWELL:

So I'm finally at the weight I feel I can do my best work and I'm instantly given a title shot. Is that fair on the other 170 pounder fighters? Probably not but it's not in my control. All I can do is go out there and do my best against a very skilled champion. I can honestly say I am in the best shape of my life and this contest will show the best of me. I am a fan of the sport and I'm actually a fan of Vinku Intiaani and as a fan, I call this fight right down the middle. I feel it's whoever lands first but rest assured that I'll make sure that it's me. I hope for a great fight for the fans and I hope I walk away with that championship.

Monthly Fighter Rankings (February)

Introduction:

Hey guys; our big event of ROTR Finals is right around the corner, and we got a lot of other stuff going on this month too. I wanted to take this time to introduce a fighter ranking system; where I will be ranking the top five fighters in each division. The top fighter will always be the champion, and I will rank the other four based on hype; in-game ranking, record and recent competition. This is a new concept for the org, so I welcome any feedback to the formula with open arms. Generally if someone else’s fighter has a win over your fighter, they will be ranked above you, but obviously that depends on when that fight happened. So let’s get to it; I will give a brief summary of each division as I rank them, and I will be aiming to update them monthly and explaining any changes whilst I do so. The divisions will be in order of least and most enticing at this very moment in time.

Division no 5: Heavyweight

#1. Otto Dahl ©

#2. Heavy Rain

#3. Brutus Leagatius

#4. Ury Dikunov

#5. Billy Hope Jr

Summary:

Heavyweight is the least exciting division at the moment; due to a pure numbers game. There are some killers at the top, but beyond that the division is thin. We will be looking to strengthen the roster over the next few months, and an enticing title fight at PINNACLE will hopefully breathe new life back into the division.

Division No.4: Welterweight

#1. Vinku Intianni ©

#2. Max Madwell

#3. Alonzo Trotter

#4. Settakian Fett

#5. Wally Markberg

Summary:

Welterweight is a little unlucky to be here; but it is mainly due to the fact that a dominant champion has not yet been established to help build the division up. However; I have been working hard to strengthen the roster, and with some excellent potential matchups on the horizon, Welterweight is likely to be right at the top very soon.

Division no.3: Middleweight

#1. Oscar Stolt ©

#2. Archibald Knox

#3. John Chester

#4. Aaron Ward

#5. Hoyce Graciano

Summary:

The division could definitely be better and is in some dire need of depth. It beats Welterweight here on the value of a very credible champion in Oscar Stolt. Whoever wins the Rumble on The Rocks Final between Chester and Knox would make an excellent match up with Stolt at PINNACLE. However; I need to improve the division and am actively seeking new fighters to do so.

Division no.2: Lightweight

#1. Grogory Damkratov ©

#2. Froyo Hoyo

#3. Johnny Walker

#4. Mnadra Sheze

#5. Milorad Djapic

Summary:

The reason I like this division so much; is that whilst it’s still developing, it is extremely competitive. After Hoyo and the champ; the other three named in my five are pretty interchangeable, in addition to this, there’s a good case to be made for Ephram Urani making the list, he did not as he is coming off a loss, albeit a highly contested loss. The division also has a dominant champion, who is 5-0, and a challenger in Hoyo who is 6-0. The champ has his work cut out for him to keep the belt, and that’s gonna be the same for anyone who gets a hold of that belt in this division.

Division no.1: Light Heavyweight

#1. Jonas Lofmark ©

#2. Jimmy Ryan

#3. Pollo Tropical

#4. Anthony Johnson

#5. Quintus Octavian

Summary:

Where to even begin with this division? We have a champion in Lofmark who has helped build the division, and has proved dominant thus far. However; there are a whole wave of contenders coming up, every guy in the top 5 can beat any other guy in the top 5 on any given day. In addition to that; there’s guys who could make an argument for being included, such as Jiu Jitsu ace Joao Pedro De Silva or I am Terrible. There’s also a guy who not many guys are gonna wanna fight; and once he rises through the ranks, he could be a problem for everyone. That guy’s name is Charlie Hanagan; the ground wizard who is always improving, having started training at just 17 years of age. Watch this space because he will be a factor soon. This division has always been strong and it is still being added to with new signings; I don’t see any other division becoming stronger than this one anytime soon.

Quintus Octavian

"First up, apologies to my legion of fans for losing the tourney final. I say lost, I felt I won the fight, but the judges liked my opponents ineffective wrestling as he covered me like a wet blanket at every opportunity. Now, I could have lay there and waited for referee stand up and made the fight even more boring but I stayed active and attacked off my back against a superior BJJ and wrestler, yeh, he had a huge wrestling advantage, but fuck it, I fight anyone, I look to finish fights.

So this wet fish progresses to the final and a title shot against Lofmark. err well maybe not.

You see, Lofmark, KTFO Tropical, and has a wrestling advantage over JDS, and to be honest would beat the shit out JDS because Lofmark would roll with this dude and eat him up.

So, he gets offered the title fight, declines it!!! Says he's entering a grappling tourney. JDS is a pussy, his camp are pussies and check out his manager, make a note of this dude, pussy!

He enters tourneys that he doesn't want to complete as soon as his precious wrestling advantage isn't there, we all know a wrestling advantage is huge among young guys like us.

I fought JDS and gave away a huge wrestling deficit but this pussy JDS wont honour the tourney because Lofmark has a wrestling edge.

I fought JDS, Tropical didn't decline Lofmark because of the wrestling, Ryan faced Lofmark and gave up wrestling, so make what you want of this JDS and his camp, but those who know their shit now know

JDS and his manager are ducking pussies.

Finish the fucking tourney boy!"

Tourney is finished, I won it and got the trophy arsehole. I asked if I could join grappling tourney and as given permission from the org owner..

THE FIGHT OFFER WAS FOR 43 days away, I'm pretty positive I'll be able to make that date so stop crying Octavian, you sound stupider then Tito.

De Silva had your back for 18 minutes of the fight and you were purely defending, I landed 18 of 24 transitions on you, get lost.. you'll be retired in a fight or two more anyways.

BIG Announcement regarding champions and title defenses

Hey guys; you may remember a mail a couple of weeks back where I said that I was gonna add a new clause for champions with 5 defences or more. I am going to be implementing exactly what I said with a couple of extra conditions, so I’m gonna spell it out for everybody. If a fighter wins a championship and defends it five times, he will be offered a new 10k/10k/10k contract, with these numbers gradually increasing the more skilled the org becomes. The champ will be entitled to an immediate rematch if he were to lose the belt after this point, but must have at least 3 fights left on his contract to do so, I don’t want anybody running away with the belt. Finally, the champ will also be given 3 months of VIP; kindly offered by Steel Penn himself.

Everybody let me know what they think of this, as we have 2 champions who are already at 3 defences in Jonas Lofmark and Grogory Damkratov, so this could be a reality very soon.

Cheers for your loyalty and hard work as always

Rankings – March 2017

Hey guys! So I thought it was about time to update our rankings for March, now that we have had 2 events this month and everything has shaken itself up a bit. It will also be good to get a view of all the divisions before PINNACLE goes down on 25th and potentially turns the entire landscape of certain divisions on their head. So; as I did last month I will be giving the top 5 fighters in each division whilst ranking the divisions from worst to best. I will give a summary of what has changed in each division and will also be doing a focus on one fighter from each division, somebody who I think is at a pivotal moment at this time.

Division 5: Heavyweight

#1. Otto Dahl ©

#2. Heavy Rain

#3. Brutus Leagatius

#4. Jarome Patches

#5. Ury Dikunov

Summary: Heavyweight remains the least exciting division; mostly due to inactivity, there are not enough fighters of consistent quality to produce good matchups, which is why the rankings are almost exactly the same as last month. We are still looking to strengthen the roster, and we have a couple of new additions, but there is work still to be done.

Fighter in Focus: Jarome Patches (307435)

We will be focusing on Jarome Patches as our fighter in this division; mainly because he could be some of the new blood this division badly needs. He is a little younger than the 3 top guys; but he has a unique style that could make him a threat, as he is a wrestler with a very potent clinch game and power in his hands. He displaced Billy Hope Jr from these rankings with relative ease, and has made himself relevant. The main problem for him is that he won’t really get any litmus tests, he is likely to be fighting the sharks of the division soon as the division is so thin that there is nobody between him and them. It will be interesting to monitor his progress over the next couple of months, hopefully we can bring in some new names for him to actually fight!

Division 4: Middleweight

#1. Oscar Stolt ©

#2. Archibald Knox

#3. John Chester

#4. Aaron Ward

#5. Devon King

Summary: Another division in desperate need of some new faces; the only reason this is now ranked ahead of heavyweight is because their title fight is likely to be the main event of PINNACLE and it is an incredibly interesting fight. In fact if the fight is even slightly competitive; there will likely be a rematch, due to the fact that after Stolt and Knox, nobody else is that close to them. Aaron Ward is looking good recently; but he must get past John Chester, who has already beaten him to be taken seriously in the division. All in all; excellent top 2, but more bodies needed.

Fighter in Focus: Archibald Knox (303869)

Archibold Knox is at an important moment. He won the middleweight Rumble on The Rocks Tournament; starching all his opponents in the first round. He has never really been to deep waters; but the odds are he will end up there on March 25th, when he takes on the Middleweight Champion Oscar Stolt. The two appear to be evenly matched in most areas; and the key will lie in whether Knox can impose his signature clinch game. If he loses though; it puts him in an awkward situation from a matchmaking standpoint, having run through all the other contenders already. It will be interesting to see how the fascinating matchup unfolds.

Division 3: Lightweight

#1. Grogory Damkratov ©

#2. Froyo Hoyo

#3. Mnajdra Sheze

#4. Mateusz Biernat

#5. Ephram Urani

Summary: This division is gaining some serious steam at the moment; with multiple contenders rising up and a champion who is pretty dominant at the moment. But there are many skilled contenders coming up that are ready to take the belt. The level of skill in the division has been improving drastically; with a top 5 who can all feasibly beat each other on any given day.

Fighter in Focus: Grogory Damkratov (303845)

The champ is a very interesting case. He is out-skilled by many of the contenders in his division; but what sets him apart is his intangibles, he has an iron chin; excellent determination and a lot of power in his hands. He was dominated in his last fight by Milorad Djapic; a fighter who on paper is better than him in every area of MMA. However; he found it within himself to plant a huge shot on the challenger’s jaw just 7 minutes before the fight would have ended. Eventually it is likely that his lack of skill will catch up with him; especially if somebody wants to take him down and submit him i.e. Mnajdra Sheze. There are certainly threats to his belt; and he’s gonna have to work hard to keep it, starting with his next defence against the always formidable Froyo Hoyo.

Division 2: Welterweight

#1. Vinku Intianni ©

#2. Settakian Fett

#3. Wally Markberg

#4. Alonzo Trotter

#5. Trevor Lawson

Summary: This division continues to get more exciting all the time; with more quality added, and surprising results happening all the time. The champion has only had 3 professional fights; but he has still shown to be an extremely skilled fighter, and has starched his opponents. So with a compelling title matchup at PINNACLE; a super skilled top 5, and a couple of prospects in Kyle Robson and Austin Spies looking to get themselves into the mix. The thing that stands out about this division though is the quality of wrestling; there are many good wrestlers, including arguably the best wrestler in the org, Alonzo Trotter. This division is only getting better; don’t be surprised to see it ranked as the top division before too long.

Fighter in Focus: Wally Markberg (303318)

Wally Markberg is in a precarious position at this point; he is still putting slid wins together; but he lost his belt getting absolutely starched by the current champ. He is in a limbo of sorts now; waiting to fight Trevor Lawson, a tough unorthodox fighter, but nevertheless a fighter Markberg would enter as the favourite against. Markberg’s gift and his curse is his style; he has won by exciting knockouts, using his physical ability and knockout power to overwhelm his opponents. However; his most prominent technical advantage lies in his wrestling ability; and he has used this to dominate and beat opponents up in the clinch before, but he has not been able to implement takedowns and top control since his very first MMA fight, where he wound up getting submitted. His division is expanding and there are a lot of good fighters coming through; he will need to go back to his roots of takedowns and GNP if he wishes to stay at the top.

Division 1: Light Heavyweight

#1. Jonas Lofmark ©

#2. Jimmy Ryan

#3. Pollo Tropical

#4. Joao Pedro De Silva

#5. Anthony Johnson

Summary: The marquee division of the org remains in the top spot and deservedly so. The division is simply the most developed division in the org. It has a dominant champion with Jonas Lofmark; some really credible challengers with the likes of Tropical and Ryan vying for a rematch with Lofmark. That’s not to count out Joao Pedro De Silva; who is very capable of causing problems for Lofmark at PINNACLE. Also check out the young blood looking to take over the division; with Charley Hanagan and Albert Pulkinnen not names anybody will be wanting to draw in the near future.

Fighter in Focus: Pollo Tropical (301419)

Pollo Tropical suffered a loss to the champ just a month ago; however, he has been training well and his skills seem to be drastically improving. He was able to hold Quintus Octavian against the cage for 15 minutes. A fight which was supposed to be a war ended up being relatively one sided; and it was clear that Tropical was making huge improvements. He and Jimmy Ryan battle for the opportunity to fight for the title again; in a pivotal battle in which will ultimately decide who is the second best in the division. Ryan has big power and will be a big test for Tropical. The winner will fight for a title where the loser will face an uncertain future; it is one of the most important fights in the division right now.

Octavian "I'll whupp Stanns inside one round, then I'll whupp Ryan or Tropical, given how my ass hole management left me with the JDS fight plan for the Tropical fight. Fool couldn't finish the fight in the clinch, I proved I am nails tough to my manager, so it was a moral victory. So I'm back, I'm calling it, one round. Who next?"
