  1. A fighter who chooses muay thai would probably want to work on knees and elbows to keep with that base, but a person who has no intention of ever using a single session towards those stats would want to choose kickboxing. Purely a change in text only. It would be up to the player to actually make their fighter use that style. If later, Mike wanted to give them some weight, he could tip the percentages on SHIG to make that fighter choose moves relevant to their base more frequently, which would encourage players to actually train the stats that matter in their selected primary. I'm absolutely okay with these kinds of changes. Not everything needs to transform the mechanics of the game to be enjoyable :-)
  2. This topic is brought up often and everyone always has the same reasons for not doing it. For me, personally, it's a role playing game above all else. It wouldn't complicate things or require a complete overhaul to allow us to choose different aesthetics for the same primaries. For example, you can allow people to simply choose judo instead of wrestling. karate or kickboxing instead of muay thai, sambo instead of jiu jitsu, etc... Of course, boxing would probably not have an alternative. The stats affected by the primary would not change, but the player would be able to set their sliders and training around their fighters chosen bases. VERY simple fix for those of us who enjoy RP.
  3. Razin just did the unthinkable by beating Chance The Rapper in less than 2 minutes! Good fight my friend. It was very intimidating on paper and if I didn't end you early, you'd have ended me. When is the next round?
  4. Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Stepan Razin! Truly the most well rounded fighter on the Island, Stepan Razin hopes to avenge his most humiliating loss against the undefeated #1 heavyweight king, General Tso. It's been a very long road, and he's faced a lot of great opponents to get here. Will he take the gold? Or will he once again fall to the power of one of the most dangerous men to ever fight on the island? "What does it mean to beat Tso? To me, it means everything... The last 6 months I fight, I fight hard. I could never be champion because I couldn't best Tso. This is my chance at win, at redemption, at glory. I am Russian, we never back down, we are not pussy. Am I frightened? A little bit, will I walk into cage and fight anyway? Will I give it my best? Yes, I will. And I believe I can beat Tso. " Ladies and Gentleman, I give you, THE MAIN EVENT OF THE SEASON! Stepan Razin http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13902789074352.jpg VS http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13887359184285.jpg General Tso
  5. THE HEAVYWEIGHT SEMI-FINALS ARE HERE! Ishi ihttp://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13938119272885.png vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13887359184285.jpg TSO RAZIN http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13902789074352.jpg vs http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32w17.jpg Ee good luck to everyone!
  6. I thought everything was great. Faster training or more starting points feels very unnecessary and like it might be motivated by people who didn't crack the top ten of their weight class. I also don't like the idea of increasing QFC rewards because there are people in the tournament who only fought QFC and passed legit participants in hype, taking their spot in the end season tourney. No one needs a super fighter on the island, that would take away from the fun.
  7. I remember having to cross my eyes to blur my vision so I couldn't see if there was an L or a W next to my fight before PbP was available. Sometimes I would cover the right side of the screen with something so I couldn't see how long the scroll bar was. I remember when the portal page looked like gay porn. I also remember when private gyms weren't a thing and it was like christmas when you found a 1on1 or 2on1 coach session for a stat you needed and money was hard to come by. This game has come so far in the last few years, I had a lot more I wanted to add but I'm sure there are some other tycooners who would like to chime in and remind us of the before times. We all like to complain, and it's great that the owner actually reads our posts, but sometimes it's nice to look at how much has been done to improve our experience, too. So whatcha got?
  8. I'm thinking something similar to the QFC or mentor system. Companies put out offers and get connected with fighters automatically instead of the old system of search and be ignored.
  9. just noticed none of my fighters are sponsored. I don't need money, but I really like to feel like I'm getting the most out of the game. Simple idea, a button for companies and/or fighters that sends a scout out to look for sponsorship deals. I don't have much more to offer than that. I feel like the community can fill in the blanks if this is something people want. Of course, people should still be allowed to sign with whomever they choose. But I think for those of us who don't have time to send messages out looking for deals, (and let's face it, sometimes messages get lost in the constant notifications) this would be a great addition.
  10. I at least expected a lot of negative votes. Everyone was surprisingly kind towards me this time around. Do we have a forum troll at the moment? IMaybe it's easier to get flamed if everyone is already agitated by someone else.
  11. But obviously. My assumption is wrong. My other k1 fighter is dominating with stats that are no when near braves. They are both around the same id. I think pbr had the best theory. My fighter cuts very easily which is why he tries to stay at a safe range. Edit. My other theory is he is just too battle scarred and his injuries are catching up.
  12. For everyone saying the thread is pointless. I learned some things thanks to a few good answers. A conversation about mechanics was at least acknowledged and no one got into a fight. I'd say this thread went fairly well. And anyone who isn't a total noob knows that I run out of weed at least once a month and RAGE over a loss publicly lol. About everyone having elite SD. That will happen when he's older but right now he's undeniably a fast learner and I focused entirely on defenses in hopes of creating an Anderson Silva type counter beast. There's no reason to assume he wouldn't have an advantage in that department against guys who aren't capped out.
  13. I gotta look over it again. I'm too busy throwing shit atm. Reading the fight. It felt like he barely missed and I missed everything. That last round he landed like 8 in a row. The last 3 fights have gone this way. Outside ofnmy fury at the situation. Is high strike defense worth building or can you sit at exceptional and be fine? You will have to excuse my emotional state. He is one of my first and best fighters and seeing him lose 4 in a row to high accuracy is just too much. Sacking him today by I need to study what went wrong first. Edit: basically. I promised myself if he lost again I'd sack him. One of my first and favorite fighters. Great build. Fast learner. Great chin and knock out power. Thought he would be a k1 champ. Then after a few counter wins he turned into a punching bag. I really thought speed and strike defense would be an important part of avoiding that. But yeah. Losing this fighter definitely has me very emotional. Some of us take this game too seriously for sure. Haha.
