Wolf
I think to make more people start using the smack talking threads, there should be some reward for using them such as an increase in popularity. Obviously we don't want to make it so you can post never ending smack talk and get a bunch of popularity, but there should be something to encourage to use it. Thoughts?

Obviously we don't want to make it so you can post never ending smack talk and get a bunch of popularity, but there should be something to encourage to use it. Thoughts? There was talk of something like this before but figuring out how to do it without people spamming it. I think something like being able to link a particular fight in a post, with a small percentage being added to the hype+pop from winning. Example: My fighter (Fighter A) is fighting Fighter B. I post something linked to the fight, hyping up my fighter. If my fighter wins, he gets a small percentage boost to his hype + pop, something maybe between 2-10%, nothing too big that makes it ridiculous, nothing too small that people think no point. Could maybe have it so the more +1 you get, the higher the percentage, with a cap on it so people don't just spam it. Would be great to see a lot more smack talk, since the orgs with the best smack talk are the most fun to be a part of.
Guest
I disagree with implementing popularity boosts. I like using the Smack Talk threads, but I don't blame guys who are not into role playing and simply want to train and fight. They should not be penalized for not enjoying that aspect of the game. If an org owner runs tournaments, title eliminators, and other exciting fights, then gets good previews and reviews made up, the smack talk will stay alive, but you aren't going to get active smack talk from simply booking fights. If you make fights special and get your fighters excited, they will talk smack.
Widing
It should be easier the twitter thing Mike mentioned in the next improvements topic, should be focused on and should get done ASAP. One thing I'd like is to get a PM everytime someone mentions you in a post, like "TheWolf mentioned you in a post, click here to read it". Because sometimes people talk smack about you and you notice it months later.
Guest
to decrease spamming in this matter if its ever implicated, you could take a hype pop hit if you trash talk and lose, it would make fighters second guess talking trash, and also be a set hype pop gain, for instance one set hype/pop gain to the winner per fight regardless how many post were made
Scooby
If people take a hype hit if they trash talk and lose then they won't trash talk lol,I hope the twitter feed thing will allow it to work out to gain pop because while ppl just want to fight and train that's fine and dandy but us who DO trash talk, writeups and newsletters weekly for 3 people to read aren't getting much of anything aside from personal satisfaction in doing it,no org hype,no fighter hype,JUST MISSING CHUNKS OF TIME OUT OF OUR DAY... I'm not mad,but my family watches me typing essays on the computer for the betterment of this community and we aren't even sure it gets read,I know many other writers feel this way,we even talked about the tycoon times in chat. I hope the twitter system is the first step towards rewarding us. If all of us writers became "fight and train" guys how much fun would this game be?
Stu_Pidasol
At the end of the day you do smack talk threads for your own enjoyment - if others read and enjoy that's an added bonus.
Guest
The twitter update should increase smacktalk even more. Pop boosts, hmmm... maybe:/
Guest
if connor mcgregor loses he will take a hype hit based off his trash talking, or gain if he wins, as long as theres that chance for gain i dont see why everyone would need to be scared of a little hype loss, i mean that is the whole point of trash talking anyway
Guest
michael bispings trash talking towards fighters and him losing is probably the main reason hes not as popular as he would be if he didnt trash talk so much....look at wandi too
Guest
A lot of the time when I trash talk I realise my fighter's the underdog and will probably lose, I'm not gonna bother if I then get punished for trying to get my fighter some attention within the org. We need more people smack talking and bringing in any kind of punishment is not the way to go.
Guest
This would be a good idea using Buzz and would be easier to implement since a fighter can buzz on his own, sorta speaking. I would not base it off the fighters buzz alone though, I would base it mainly off of how much a fighter is mentioned and/or #hash tagged by others. bjornmma1
I would love to see that as I don't only like smacktalking with my own fighters, but also like reading the smacktalk between other fighters. It would be great to see some sort of popularity boost, but I don't know if it would be easy to implement and keep from getting abused.
