D
I'm not looking for "inside information," or trying to base my strategy off of yours, or anything like that. I'm simply curious what some of the philosophies are out there about what size you want your fight org to be. As mine approaches 90 fighters, I realize I don't want to get a hell of a lot bigger. At least not any time soon. I can see myself hitting 100 in the next few days and then really slowing down my recruitment efforts. 150 is a conceivable goal for several weeks from now, but as I philosophize now, I dont think I want an org of 200. I just don't see the advantage. I can see myself hovering around 150, tweezing off the guys who aren't gonna make it, working hard to retain good fighters [and good managers, frankly] and giving a handful of up-and-comers a shot as the 0-3 and 1-3 guys are not renewed. Feel free to chime in, if you'd like.
dushira
I'm just stating out so I can't help you. I don't plan on becoming very big though, 100-120 looks like the max I could handle. Time will tell.
LanceTempleton
The Ufc had 200 fighters and couldnt handle it.

Time will tell. Well, like I said, I'm not looking for help or advice. I was just looking to philosophize with other owners. I already have a pretty good idea of what I'd like to do. Guest
I think I will stick to around 100 fighters or so. I think I will slowly get my events to only have 6-8 fights and weekly, I have said I am more than happy to stay as a feeder org for a while and get new fighters a place to make money. I will be someones WEC to their UFC.

Guest
Im prob going to be around 150 as well......my recruiting has already subsided and I want the best talent....Im about where you are as far as not renewing the fighters that arent performing and paying my guys who are worth it. I usually am not the highest paid at the beginning becuase I feel like you should earn the money......

I usually am not the highest paid at the beginning becuase I feel like you should earn the money...... too bad everyone doesnt feel that way. There are a lot of managers who seem to want 300-400/show for their 0-0 or 1-0 fighter. I stick to a 150 150 250 method normally for beginners
Guest
I would be glad with 100 fighters. I don't need more. I feel it would go perfectly with just 60 fighters as well. I'm only at 34 fighters now and have a hard time finding new fighters.

Guest
people need to make more 145 fighters, it's an exciting class, with hardly any guys, in Vegas at least

Guest
CFC is sitting at around 140 right now and I haven't been recruiting new fighters for over a week. An ideal number I feel is in the vicinity of 150. I can see the merit of having up to 175 depending on the particular situation of your fighter roster with injuries, energy levels, manager desires to see their fighters competing more or less frequently, etc. At this point, my plan is to hover in the 140-155 area. CFC is at the point now that I don't sign 0-0 fighters unless they personally message me asking for a contract.
D
I'm at a similar point as you [although I'm much younger as an org]. I'm finding that, having only been in existence for about 3 weeks and with a 90-man roster, it's counter-productive to be still be aggressively scouting and signing guys. I need to focus my $$ now on getting a good bunch of well-produced and properly advertised events. I'm sure once I get some $$ from my two upcoming planned & paid for & booked events, I'll gradually seek fighters again, but I think I'm in a bit of a moratorium stage right now. Guest
that is a good plan, I try and pay for at least 3 events in advance right away
WhisperingDeath
I would ideally like to run two events a week with about 110-120 fighters. But Synchronicity is showing that if promotions don't grow their rosters and hold events more frequently we'll have all our best talent signed away by those who do. So I'm running more events now to keep up with the competition. Soon Mike will be instituting a system to reduce ticket sales the more events you have a week. I'd love for it to have 2 events a week be the best option but if more or less is the optimal setting then I'll run that many events. PRIDE is here to be the best promotion in MMATycoon, so whatever the game decides is the most proffitable strategy is the strategy I'm going to use. Sync. couldve signed every breathing fighter under the sun of Vegas but didnt. the other promotions picked up a lot of fighters thanks to Sync. - out of fairness, knowing whats coming and because we achieved our goal of "catching up" - holding back. 2-3 quality events a week is the way to go for us, its the same strategy the other top-leagues use. i like to see a fighter-cap implemented soon also. something not too low, but so that someone with a lot of time on his hands cant sign 1000 fighters around the world and hold dozens of events per week. i know its coming (right? ), so its all good . Yeah, I think it would be good to have a cap or a limitation. I hop the game starts counting in game weeks, so every week is equivilant to 3. Since the fighters age that way. They should grow that way and fight that way. Also, I think they should make you declare a subsection of your region to officially hold your show in each event, and if there are a ton of show in that section bigger companies would steal sales away from lower competitors. So also you can't overexpose your company, for instance, you hold a show in northern Cali every 3 weeks to a month and your overexposed, noone cares to come. So you have to mix it up. Plus it gives orgs ways to put eachother under.
