In 2014 we programmed a script that would look for fighters who had been waiting ages for a QFC, then make a dummy fighter to fight them, so they didn't have to keep waiting. It's only meant to happen very occasionally, as this is meant to be a P2P game, not a fighting bots game. However, I just thought it made more sense to clear out the waiting times in really obscure weights / locations, which don't get matched up often. My guess as to what's happening here is that the script tries to make a new fighter to match to someone but gets the weight slightly wrong (or something similar), so when the QFC script tries to match them, it doesn't work. So then the script makes the same fighter again... and again... and again... until someone real finally matches the fighter who's been waiting ages and then the script stops making new fighters to match them. It's been working without much issue since 2014, so it's just a couple of times that it's gone nuts like this. I have turned it off for now and will see what's up. It's a fricking complicated script though obviously as there's a lot going on in there. Anyway, apologies for the little secret and for it going wrong. It's certainly a possibility. It's just kinda weird if there's a magic QFC location where fighters from different places fight each other but then we have "real" locations for the non-QFC fights. Actually with the flights off, every event is at a magic event location (albeit one that has an actual city name) where fighters from different places fight each other. . . pretty much the same thing. Wouldn't have to even name the location by city or nation per se, just say that its taking place in the "QFC Arena", I'm sure everyone on Tycoon would go along with that and not have any problems with slightly suspending their disbelief. QFC fights would get matched quicker, and I might even think that some perhaps less densely populated regions of the game might thrive again as newcomers might not flee from places they just can't get fights. What about instead of searching for opponent in a specific city, it would search every city ? Lets say a fighter in London is already in the waiting for a QFC pool, and another fighter in Tokyo enters the pool. The fight is then booked at London. Maybe there could be checkbox option for people who don't want to "travel" to fight ? But which ever option is the easiest to code, is fine by me. I'm already used to flying out of town for QFC.
