Ready for war. That's been the motto through entire camp.

Preparing for a fighter like Luatua - that sounds like a difficult task - who have you been training with to help emulate your opponent?

From outside of gym we brought in (Carl) Creel and (Victor) Creed. Similar styles and heavy hands.

I thought they were retired in the Bahamas. They're almost 50 years old

They are Super Heroes. Always in great shape.

Fight night is around the corner. How have you been preparing yourself this week for the fight?

Been working with Don (Marciano) and Leonidas (Katsaros). Doing a lot of conditioning with my old man (Fidel). Trying to keep six-pack.

That's a high quality coaching staff. Keeping a six-pack for the ladies, aye? - What's your favorite ab exercise?

The one that prepares you to eat body kicks from monster like Robbie Luatua.

Fair enough. One of his kicks would kill most men. He is a monster in the cage, how is he outside of combat?

Like Americans would say, he is cool. Laid back. Makes a funny (joke). Great person, better fighter. I expect tough fight.

Have you and Robbie spoke much since agreeing to fight?

Talk briefly at fight pressers but it's business. Train, focus, and fight. Plenty of time to be friends after punching each other in face.

What do you think your opponent's greatest strength is?

Very heavy hands. Big heart. Can step up in gut-check time. You can teach fighters kick and punch, but you can't teach heart.

Do you have to adjust your gameplan for that kind of thing?

I dunno. Changing gameplan is for manager. I punch with big power and gameplan later.

Wrestling and grappling seems to be your only clear cut advantage over Luatua. Will you try to add it to your strategy for this fight? It was your bread and butter early in your career but it seems you've been shying away from it in your recent fights, taking a stand and bang approach.

Prefer stand and bang. Give the fans what they want.

What are your predictions for this fight? How do you see it ending?

One of us will be knocked out by second round. Crowd will cheer. It will be fun.

When asked about the result of the fight and the lack of knockdowns and the knockout everybody expected:

"Manager screw up sliders? I dunno. I tried to get submission before end of fight because you never know what judges think. You can't finish everybody in this sport, and Robbie Luatua is tough guy, true fighter. We both landed hard shots in there and I am very happy with the victory."

On capturing his 3rd world title and unifying the Syn, EVO, and Ascension Heavyweight championship belts:

"Championship belts make fancy collection. Beating the best fighters and establishing yourself as top fighter in the world is much more important."

Regarding his future and what's next:
