145 LBS SUPER SERIES PRE-EVENT PREVIEW

Fight 1: DJ Cannonier VS Dechlan Tomsett

Kicking us off for the night we will have DJ The Messenger Cannonier (3-3) taking on Dechlan Detonator Dec Tomsett (4-2) in what should be an exciting match up and potential fight of the night candidate!

The Messenger is always a pleasure to watch go to work inside the cage. He has won dominant decisions over Ryan Kelly, Ieuan Thomas and The Mass. DJ Cannonier can land a takedown from anywhere but also stuff any takedown thrown his way. This is an incredibly useful skill as Cannonier is an amazing boxer, beautifully technical with power in both hands. Itll be interesting to see what happens if DJ lands clean on Tomsetts chin.

Detonator Dec is a smart technical fighter, winning twice by submission out of his 4 wins. He can strike with the best of them and throw a submission up from anywhere at the same time. I think what will really help him against Cannonier is his granite chin and his ability to adapt to anything his opponent brings to the table. If this fighter ends up on his back Cannonier could be in for a world of hurt!

Milos Prediction - Dechlan Tomsett by Unanimous Decision, I believe Cannonier will start off strong but fade as soon as it leaves the first round and Tomsett has time to adapt and make his adjustments. Looking forward to a war!

Fight 2: Khazaev Magomedov VS Ieuan Thomas

In the second fight of the night we will see Khazaev Iron Magomedov (Debut) take on Ieuan Iron Thomas (2-4), this should be an absolute slugfest.

Khazaev Magomedov is a superb wrestler with a great work ethic and an endless gas tank. He will look to drag you to the mat and smash your face into the canvas at any given opportunity. An inside source from his training camp told us Khazaev has been working hard on his striking in order to showcase more than just his wrestling pedigree. Now that fills me with a lot of confidence that we are going to see fireworks come fight night!

Ieuan Thomas is an amazing Muay Thai fighter who knows his way around an arm bar. Itll be interesting to see if his BJJ can neutralise the wrestling of Khazaev. Ieuan has proven he has the gas tank to go the distance with both his wins being by decision. His chin is questionable at this current time given that his debut and second fight resulted in him suffering 2 knockout losses in under a minute each time! Hopefully hes learnt to keep that chin tucked in.

Milos prediction - Khazaev Magomedov via 2nd round TKO (GNP strikes). I believe that the wrestling will be too strong for Thomas and hell suffer at the hands of another strong powerful guy.

Fight 3: Denchailek Sitsongrit VS Declan Shearer

In our third bout of the evening Denchailek Sitsongrit (Debut) will take on Declan Hands of Stone Shearer (Debut) in what is guaranteed to be an absolute war!

Both men are strikers with Denchailek having a pedigree within Muay Thai while Declan is more of a balanced fighter having a broad understanding of both disciplines of boxing and Muay Thai. Declan appears to have stronger credentials in the case of grappling, boasting a blue belt in BJJ. Will this be a factor in the fight or will both men happily trade in the centre and give the crowd what they really want?

Milos predictions - I believe Declan Shearer will pull off a submission win in the first. I can see Sitsongrit getting some good striking in early but one way or another this fight will end up on the ground and I only see one outcome there.

Fight 4: Uri Romanov VS Laurence White

Next up we have Uri Terminator Romanov (4-2) taking on Laurence One Punch White (Debut) in a classic striker versus grappler match up!

The Terminator has been impressive to say the least within his MMA career, challenging twice for the title during his time with Empire MMA. Coincidentally his two title shots also appear to be his only losses. The Terminator has destroyed everyone else in his path, submitting the tough Raul Mendes in his debut before subsequently beating him in a dominant decision. Romanov also convincingly beat Javier Fernandez and Ryan Sampson on points throughout his Empire Career and looks to extend his winning streak come fight night.

One Punch is a prolific Muay Thai fighter who boasts a blue belt in BJJ. He holds an advantage over Romanov in both height and natural walk around weight which will prove to come in handy in all aspects of the fight. An inside source from Whites training camp had this to say Laurence has been working on his ground game hard all camp, Id estimate hes earned his purple belt through his hard work during this camp! Wow, could a ground war be on the cards?

Milos prediction - The Terminator by 1st round submission. The credentials are so unevenly matched on the ground and I can see Romanov dragging this one to the mat and wrapping White up.

Fight 5: Raul Mendes VS Jai Chang

In our co-main event Raul Unstoppable Mendes (4-6) takes on Jai Fury Cheng (1-0) in what should be an absolute war from start to finish!

Mendes has gathered so much experience over his time within the MMA world. He has beaten some class acts such as Ryan Kelly, DJ Cannonier and Joji Logavatu. After suffering a freak knockout loss to Joji Logavatu in the first round, Mendes got some much needed training in and came back and outclassed Logavatu over 3 rounds to show that it was merely a fluke. Mendes is tough, always up for a scrap and has power no matter which stage of the fight it is. Dont blink!

Cheng has only had one fight in his career but damn was it a good one! He dominated every aspect of the fight to gain a unanimous decision win over Francisco Villa, who could not come up with any answers to Chengs versatility and high work rate. Cheng is primarily a striker boasting some pretty impressive Muay Thai credentials but he can definitely grapple when he needs to and this will be needed to keep Mendes off him.

Milos predictions - Mendes by 3rd round TKO (GNP strikes). Mendes carries power even into the later rounds and he has a knack for breaking down his opponents.

Main Event: Artur The Tsar Barushki VS Matthew The Gladiator Rixon

In our main event of the evening we have Artur Barushki (1-3) taking on Matthew Rixon (1-0), this fight is set to be an absolute war.

Artur Barushki is currently on a losing streak but that is very deceiving. He is a very competent fighter who has power, toughness and endurance. He will definitely be looking to make a statement come fight night. It is rumoured Artur Barushki has been training several weeks before this fight even came to fruition. This just shows how hungry and ready we are going to see Barushki on fight night.

Matthew Rixon has just come off a dominant points win over Raul Mendes in his professional debut. He won all 3 rounds and showed no signs of slowing down at all. Rixon is a strong wrestler with great Muay Thai credentials, power in both legs and hands and an amazing double leg. He is amazing in every aspect of MMA. Hes physically smaller than Barushki but damn is this kid a power house. Rumour has it he suplexed a heavyweight last week.

Milos prediction - 3rd round TKO by Matthew Rixon. Barushki has been known to fade in the later rounds and Rixon will keep that same pace all night.

There you have it folks! See you all come fight night!
