Lao Shin 7th title win

The dude is a 7 time 170 lbs champ, do i really need to add anything else? Well i will anyway. Being a 7 time champ in any org is ridiculous, has it ever happened before? Nope. The likelihood of it happening in a top three org is even less likely.

Truth said, none of the title reigns were very long, almost similar to those of a WWE/wrestling organisation, however that does not take anything away from the fact that Lao has had a modern era 3 1/2 year run, most of which at the top of the orgs 170 lbs ratings. I would also argue that our 170 lbs division was also the deepest or at least one of our deepest divisions. For god sake, the dude is 41y old and has just won the title!

His days are probably numbered now, but the dude is still breaking records. An all time top 4-5 fighter for GAMMA all time.

2019 has gone by and it was another great year for the GAMMA.

In terms of the MMA Tycoon world, the game has never been in a better position from the point of view of top level organization. This is the first time in the history of the game that we have 5-6 PPV level organization. It even forced Mike (the admin) to add a new 92k arena in Tokyo, to balance out the demand for arena space.

This was also the first year we had the official "Super fight league", where all the top organizations participate in super fights. This was the season 1 final table:

Claymore Elite Combat = 39 Points

Global Association of MMA™ = 27 Points

Synchronicity = 20 Points

Pulse Fighting Championship = 14 Points

Empyrian = 11 Points

Pride = 4 Point

GAMMA was active in the super fights and we had some good wins, the the truth is that the results were less than stellar (especially during the summer months), so 2nd place was about as good as we deserved.

This was also the best year in GAMMA history in terms of total fighters hitting the #1 spot, we had a total of 3:

2019-03-16 Edward Kenway (253483)

2019-05-18 Pablo Maraçon (269807)

We also had several fighters reach top 10 status during the year as well:

2019-06-22 Pat Verbeek (266187) #2

2019-10-25 Bunt Jernit (289440) #2

2019-05-11 Diarmuid Curry (290234) #4

2019-10-05 Dao Sonnen (273645) #4

2019-03-30 Tyler Wrexham (301173) #5

2019-12-07 Foot Fungus (302783) #5

2019-02-23 FannyPack SissyPants (275388) #7

This year we also reinstated the GAMMA development league, which is the 3rd tier of the GAMMA pyramid structure: http://www.mmatycoon.com/orgpublic.php?oid=5665

All in all, this was a very sold year, with plenty of new records being broken. Keep up the good work guys!

GAMMA: Bubba Gumption HOF induction

Managed by Trippin Balls, 31-19 in GAMMA. He is a former 265+ champ with 13 total title fights. He also held the GAMMA Rookie affiliate title and has a total of 19 FON bonuses.

In 2018 he became the GAMMA fighter of the year winner and has been ranked as high as #2 in game. Upon retirement he had 202 points, which is the 6th highest of all time among GAMMA fighters, 32 points from those are due to his extensive career in our affiliates.

Bubba has had some massive fights, his biggest wins over former title winners or contenders are against Sunray Spike, Thorbjorn Heimendahl, David Tua, Diarmuid Curry, Gerbert Bryant, Hennan Hoyce, Brandon Simmons, Hennan Hoyce, Mitzi Glozman, Charles DaCoca, Arthur Curry, Luis Torres, Sebastiaan Rutten.

This induction also moves Trippin Balls up the all time rankings, he is now in the top 17. This is his first fighter in the Hall of Fame.

Greatest of all time list

I have made some adjustments to the all time greatest list. I have factored in the following criteria:
GAMMA Fighter of the year #1 - 25 points
GAMMA Fighter of the year #2 - 18 points
GAMMA Fighter of the year #3 - 15 points
GAME Fighter of the Year - 25 points
GAME Division Fighter of the year - 15 points
In game ranking:
Highest rank - #1 25 points
Highest rank - #2 18 points
Highest rank - #3 15 points
Highest rank - #4 12 points
Highest rank - #5 10 points
Highest rank - #6 8 points
Highest rank - #7 6 points
Highest rank - #8 4 points
Highest rank - #9 2 points
Highest rank - #10 1 points
Reminder, the other points are accumulated with this formula:
1 FON Award 1 Per Loss 2 Per draw 3 Per title / Super fight 4 Per win
The idea is to favor fighters who not only showed consistency and had success in the org, but also competed at the highest level, winning awards etc. This can help fighters who had shorter, but more dominant runs move up the rankings.
Here is the new list after the changes (This does not include active fighters). This is only fighters in our Hall of Fame:

I would like to congratulate Foot Fungus for hitting the #1 spot in the rankings. He achieved this after beating both Tomomi Tsuruta and Alphonzo Mirage in super fights.

Foot is currently on a 7 fight winning streak and is one of Grumpy Bastard's (Who is an all time GAMMA great and Hall of Fame member) personal developed fighters. We wish Foot a successful run at the top.

This is the 9th fighter in our history to hit the #1 spot.

I am proud to announce that GAMMA and it's fighters / managers won several awards this year. Here are our winners:

Breakthrough Manager: Action Jackson

Action Jackson whooped ass all year, he also had one of the most dominant runs as a champ with Curry in 2019, so it was fully deserved.

170lb Fighter of the Year- Dao Sonnen

Dao also won the 185lbs fighter of the year in 2018, this is the first time a fighter has won 2 awards in the game! He also won it in 2 different divisions, i doubt that will ever be done.

Org of the Year- GAMMA

GAMMA won the org of the year for 3 years in a row. Something never achieved in the game before.

Several awards were removed without any reason this year, so there was significantly fewer awards to compete for. One of those awards removed was the CEO of the year, we had multiple wins in that category. Maybe next year we will see a comeback of some of the awards.

Dope! Is that really true about Sonnen? Of course it is.

Sonnen has his eye on the 205lb division this year...... (just kidding). Actually he has always wanted to properly establish himself as the greatest all time middleweight at Gamma. I know he has looked sketchy of late, but assure any suckas thinking Sonnen has had it, will likely have to eat those words. Sincerely, Sonnen's losses came at a time during some personal issues (reckless sliders) and inadequate management (not studying fights) which has intern had a knock-on effects to the entire camp. Sonnen has analysed all his fights and has gone back to the drawing board (reset my sliders) redefined himself. Sonnen's recent failures have been to largely due to mis-management as there have been clear routes to victory. Sonnen and I have come up with an entirely new game plan for this year and although it looks unlikely he will stay under my management and his future is uncertain, his next fights can still define his legacy.

Sonnen could still establish himself as the GSP of MmaTycoon. One last run at the gauntlet I think....to die possibly. It's never been about rank for Sonnen. It's ALWAYS and only ever been about hammering, unless it's nailing. If so, then it's against the best of the best.. I think he still has at least one or two vendettas to settle? I think he has a couple of banging fights still left in him~ hopefully against the greatest opposition.

David Brent

Felt rusty, out of shape and underskilled, but still kept my promise to all fans.
I'm an entertainer!

Brent Throws a clean left jab. Brent Twirls his body and connects with a Spinning Back Fist that connects flush with Dolla's chin!

Dolla crumbles to the ground and Brent follows up with some unanswered strikes. It's all over!! Nice standup skills displayed by Brent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:43 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). David Brent!

Basten Sodergren Fought in GAMMA from 2015-10-17 till 2019-10-12. Basically we can already stop there. He is the first fighter ever to spend his whole career in GAMMA.

His 39-17-1 GAMMA record is solid, but besides 9 fight win streak, which led to a title shot and loss. He did not have massive success in title or super fights. He was however always around the top of the roster, beating most, but losing to the very best. His main success was his consistency, usually in the top 5-6 of the division over a 4 year streak.
His big wins were over Cheik Imbula, Big Guns, Matt Quin, Michael Cole, Scotty Bennet. All of which were champs at some point within GAMMA.
He is ranked #17 among fighters with 178 ranking points. This is the most impressive accumulation of points among fighters who never won the title. The only other fighter to not win the title and with more points is Frank Sinatra (49637). He had 199 points in total.

I think Farbo made it top 10 for the first time 2018-12-15, well at least that is what i have in my notes.

Holy shit. You could be right, I thought he did in 2019 too, but you took notes, so you're probably right dude.

Cheers popart.

David Brent

Brent lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Sidious at a distance.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/knockdown.gif
Brent lands a big uppercut and Sidious crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Sidious looks OK. Brent waves Sidious back to his feet!
http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/fight/rocked.gif
Sidious is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brent throws a quick head kick that knocks Sidious silly! This fight is all over! What a finish! Brent is up on the cage, taking in the applause from the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). David Brent!
After the fight, David Brent was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

I am proud to announce the induction of current GAMMA manager Runt . (108617), to our Hall of Fame! Runt is ranked #31 in the all time manager list (he is actually higher, simply we have not done a stats update since October), with over 80 professional fights to his GAMMA career. He is just one of 12 active GAMMA managers in the HOF.

To his name he has 16 title fights and 3 super fights, Which is a top 22 all time. His most recognizable star and future HOF inductee is Bunt Jermit who was the 145lbs champ until recently. You could argue that Bunt is the best 145/155lbs fighter of all time, it is up for debate, depending on when he retires himself.

Currently Runt stands with 279 ranking points. By the next update i expect him to shoot up the rankings and join the top 20 all time.

Once again i congratulate Runt for his feat and thank him for his contribution to the organization.

David Brent

One of my biggest challenges so far coming up in a few hours.
Win or loss, I'll make sure to give it my all.
Would be fun to add another KO to my record, but going to be a tricky one.

Either way, who can complain when they gave it their all, so that's what I'm aiming for, 100% dedication.

It was a historical year and especially weekend of GAMMA manager and Hall of Famer, Grumpy Bastard (102643). Grumpy broke several records already this year.

#1 He became a Tycoon Hall of Fame manager this year after he hit the #1 spot.
#2 He became the only manager in our history to have 2 fighters hit the #1 spot in one year (and it is just April), when both 2020-01-30 Foot Fungus (302783) #1, 2020-02-15 Snot Slurper (302792), hit the #1 spots.
But this weekend he broke 3 more records!
#3 He became the first manager in our history to win 2 belts in one weekend, when William Spud and Crotch Grabber won the titles.
#4 He became the only manager to hold 4 belts at one tile. The other 2 title holders being Foot Fungus and Joy Rones.
#5 The last event headlined by Crotch Grabber is the highest ranking GAMMA event in history with a rating of 986.15.
Congratulations to Grumpy for his achievements!
