Alfred
Alliance World Championship - Post Tournament Analysis http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/1537597161edited.JPG The GBU Record: 11-19 Predicted Finish: 4th Actual Finish: 6th Performance: D- The GBU were composed of three experienced, former number one managers and two newer and less prolific managers. Two of those elite managers were borrowed from LOD who shamefully were unable to put forward a team of their own. First impressions of their team would be that the elite managers would be guiding the lesser experienced ones and that they would stand a good chance of making it into the play-offs at the very least. Unfortunately for them things didn’t work out quite that way with two of the elite managers putting in some shockingly poor performances over the course of the group stage which ultimately cost them a place in the play-offs. The biggest disappointment however was that the play-offs never got to see the best fighter at 205lbs Zane Alexander but then this was never about the individual but rather the team. This tournament will no doubt go down as a disappointing one for The GBU but we don’t doubt we will see them return one day. 135lbs Name: Randy “Retread” Rutherford Record: 1-5 Predicted Group Finish: 7th Actual Group Finish: 7th Performance: E + Finished as predicted - Struggled in 135lbs division - Four fight losing streak - Finished bottom of group 155lbs Name: Stig “The Transporter” Statham Record: 3-3 Predicted Group Finish: 6th Actual Group Finish: 4th Performance: D+ + Finished two place above predicted - All three losses by first round finish 170lbs Name: Quanah “Comanche Moon” Parker Record: 1-6 Predicted Group Finish: 2nd Actual Group Finish: 7th Performance: F - Finished far below predicted place - Horrendous contribution from team captain - Finished bottom of 170lbs division - Five out of six losses by first round finish - Six fight losing streak 205lbs Name: Zane “The Bedtime Story” Alexander Record: 5-1 Predicted Group Finish: 1st Actual Group Finish: 1st Performance: A + MVP for The GBU alliance + Arguably best light-heavyweight in tournament + Five fight win streak + All five victories by finish + Finished top of 205lbs group + Met group expectations - Disappointing not to see him go further. After all was said and done, Cromulent Doom performed admirably and even managed to take home some nice little scalps from the big boys here and there. Alfred
Alliance World Championship - Post Tournament Analysis http://mmatycoon.com/images/1524564257EvilEmpireLogo.gif Evil Empire Evil Empire Record: 15-25 Predicted Finish: 5th Actual Finish: 4th Performance: C+ Evil Empire were par the course for this tournament and finished roughly about where you would have expected. Filled with managers never to have quite hit the big time, their performances reflected just that as they picked off the more vulnerable prey whilst struggling against the more elite competition involved. They did well to reach the play-offs and whilst completely outmatched in their semi-final showdown against The Stepdads, they gave FinnFighters a real scare in the third place match up and pushed them all the way to the final match. Overall not a bad run but a lot of improvement necessary to catch up with the other big alliances 135lb Name: Evil Empire Record: 5-3 Predicted Group Finish: 4th Actual Group Finish: 3rd Performance: B + Finished above predicted place + Good points contribution for his alliance in group stage + Got a win in the 3rd place match up for his alliance + MVP for Evil Empire alliance - Finished in all three loses 155lbs Name: Garth “Baby Yoda” Wader Record: 4-4 Predicted Group Finish: 5th Actual Group Finish: 5th Performance: C- + Met predicted finish spot + Got a win in 3rd place match up for his alliance - Disappointing overall performance from alliance team captain - Finished in all four losses 170lbs Name: Willy Do Record: 3-5 Predicted Group Finish: 4th Actual Group Finish: 5th Performance: D+ + Decent contribution during group stage - Finished below predicted spot - Disappointing in the play-offs - Three fight losing streak at one point 205lbs Name: Finn Vernon Record: 0-8 Predicted Group Finish: 5th Actual Group Finish: 7th Performance: F - Eight fight losing streak - Finished in all but one fight - Finished two places below predicted spot - Finished last in group 265lbs Name: “Big” Dick Glover Record: 3-5 Predicted Group Finish: 6th Actual Group Finish: 4th Performance: D+ + Finished two places above predicted spot + Decent points contributor in group stage - All five losses by finish - Disappointing performance in play-offs - Most useless granite chin ever
Alfred
Alliance World Championship - Post Tournament Analysis http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/1267303006FF.jpg FinnFighters FinnFighters Record: 22-18 Predicted Finish: 3rd Actual Finish: 3rd Performance: B- The grizzled veterans of the north and MMATycoon’s oldest active alliance the FinnFighters. Not easy to assess their performance as whilst they finished as predicted, you get the feeling that they could have and should have done a little better in places. Still, a third place finish and a good run in the group stage, especially in the first few weeks. They did their best to keep up with The Stepdads there and were well ahead of YABAI for the majority of it. Easily the biggest disappointment for them will be their 4-1 defeat at the hands of YABAI in the semi-finals which lead to a tougher than expected match with Evil Empire for third place. Overall a good run for them and it was good to see them in action after all these years. 135lbs Name: Urho “Permafrost” Viikate Record: 2-6 Predicted Group Finish: 2nd Actual Group Finish: 5th Performance: D- + Finish win over Humors - Poor performance in Group stage - Disappointing in play-offs - Finished well below expected position - Four fight losing streak - All six losses by finish 155lbs Name: Digi Box Record: 4-4 Predicted Group Finish: 1st Actual Group Finish: 3rd Performance: C + Decent performance in Group stage + Three out of four victories by finish - Terribly performance as team captain in play-offs - Lost in both semi-final & final - Finished two place below expected 170lbs Name: Jesse Ristinen Record: 5-3 Predicted Group Finish: 3rd Actual Group Finish: 3rd Performance: B + Decent performance in group stage + Good points earner for his alliance + Met expectations in group stage + Won in play-off finals - Two out of three losses by finish 205lbs Name: Kake Randelin Record: 6-2 Predicted Group Finish: 4th Actual Group Finish: 3rd Performance: A- + Finished above predicted place in group + Four fight win streak + Good early start in group stage + Five out of six victories by finish + Superb performance in play-offs + Won in both semi-final & final + Never finished + MVP for FinnFighter alliance - Performance dropped during last rounds of group - Two fight losing streak 265lbs Name: Markku Innanen Record: 5-3 Predicted Group Finish: 1st Actual Group Finish: 3rd Performance: B + Good early start to group stage + Three fight win streak + Victory in 3rd place match - Finished two places below predicted - Lost in play-off semi-final against previously defeated opponent - All three losses by finish
Alfred
Alliance World Championship - Post Tournament Analysis http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/1542546360The_Stepdads.png The Stepdads The Stepdads Record: 30-8 Predicted Finish: 2nd Actual Finish: 2nd Performance: A- Packed full of talent, The Stepdads were always going to be one of the teams in the final and though predicted a second place finish, after their domination in the group stages, it really could be considered a shock that they didn’t win it. Finishing seventeen points ahead of closest rivals FinnFighters, The Stepdads had only lost a handful of times at that point and only added to that with their 5-0 trouncing of Evil Empire in the semi-finals. If the tournament was purely a league format then I doubt many would argue that The Stepdads wouldn’t be champions but it wasn’t. The play-off format has always served as the great equalisers and with all the added pressure that comes with single elimination,it is down to those taking part to rise to the occasion. Unfortunately for them, a couple of their team were surely lacking in their grand finale against YABAI and it cost them dear. Silver for The Stepdads on this occasion 135lbs Name: “Marauding” Markus Haland Record: 5-3 Predicted Group Finish: 3rd Actual Group Finish: 2nd Performance: B + Finished above predicated place + All five wins by finish + Four fight win streak - All three losses by finish - Lost in alliance finals 155lbs Name: Chubby Funster Record: 6-2 Predicted Group Finish: 3rd Actual Group Finish: 2nd Performance: A- + Finished one above predicted place + Superb performance in play-offs. Alfred
Alliance World Championship - Post Tournament Analysis http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/1563834408yabai-gold.jpg YABAI Record: 24-14 Predicted Finish: 1st Actual Finish: 1st Performance: A YABAI, an absolute powerhouse of current meta talent and predicted to be the champions of the tournament before it even began. Filled with former and current number one managers, YABAI were bafflingly mediocre over the course of the early group stages and it took them a long time to get going. Finishing a massive twenty-one points behind group leaders The Stepdads at the end of the group stage and taking only third place four points behind FinnFighters. YABAI’s biggest problem was a couple of under-performing stars and it was a big wonder how this would effect them going into the play-offs. A stunning 4-1 thrashing of the FinnFighters in the semi-final gave us a flash of their brilliance and some hope that they could make a competitive finale against The Stepdads who had just defeated Evil Empire 5-0. In the end, YABAI’s talent shone through and they were able to get the win 3-2. A giant snowball that started small but continued to gain more and more momentum as the tournament drew on and now crowned best alliance in the MMATycoon 2020. Congrats to YABAI. 135lbs Name: “The Drunk Monk” Shu Fang Tzeng Record: 7-1 Predicted Group Finish: 1st Actual Group Finish: 1st Performance: A + Met expectations in group + Finished top of group + Superb points contributor in group + Superb performance in play-offs + Six fight win streak + All seven wins by submission + MVP for YABAI alliance 155lbs Name: Maximus “Snakebite” Furioto Record: 6-2 Predicted Group Finish: 4th Actual Group Finish: 1st Performance: A- + Far exceeded group expectations + Great points contributor for alliance during group stage + Five fight win streak achieved + Five out of six wins by finish - Lost by finish in alliance finals 170lbs Name: Diego Diaz Record: 6-2 Predicted Group Finish: 5th Actual Group Finish: 2nd Performance: A- + Far exceeded group expectations + Great performance in play-offs + Good points contributor in group stage + All six victories by submission 205lbs Name: Gerhard “And Finish Hard” Smakatron Record: 3-5 Predicted Group Finish: 2nd Actual Group Finish: 5th Performance: D+ + Victory in the alliance finals + All three victories by finish - Finished well below expected position - Poor contribution during group stage - Poor overall performance from team captain - Four out of five losses by finish 265lbs Name: Francisco Baroza Record: 2-6 Predicted Group Finish: 2nd Actual Group Finish: 7th Performance: D- + Win in play-off semi-finals - Finished well below predicted spot - Finished bottom of group - Extremely poor contribution during group - All six losses by finish
Monsieur.Camara
Thank you Albert, great analysis and on point. Meh this was not the tourney to test a new build for me. Should have stuck with the cookies for such an experienced field. I wish I had 2-3 testing fighter slots. Really had bad luck with my guy`s hiddens and messed up his build. My biggest pride is that the team stuck together and finished together. Scotty even agreed to stay at GBU so we are very blessed and very active in the alliance chat and helping each other. Wwe were happy to borrow the shark for the tourney and we had no drama even though I sucked the entire tourny. Thanks again, we had a blast ! Monsieur.Camara
Hope we can do this again, maybe even get more interested alliances to participate next time. Congrats To all the members of Yabai If this was to be done again today GBU would be again, a HUGE favorite to win it. Just absolute domination this month in Division 1 http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/1537597161edited.JPG We match really well manager vs manager against the wieners of season 1 YABAI , Season 2 we would summon Master Grumpy to lead us borrowed from LOD (if they again chose to not participate). Shark too if he is still game. Like The Guardians would be really good to see if they merge w another good alliance to make a team. Buff and John are always on top of their game and The Rat knows his shit no doubt. Having said that I don`t see anyone other than Alfred running this and he is currently busy with that MASSIVE kt so we shall patiently await and just keep getting better and better It was such an honour participating on this, I know I went 0-6 but I wold like to think that if I had been able to TASTE with 2-3 fighter slots I easily go 6-0 against that exact same oposition. Alas, we must wait a bit and see
