#849300 Update

Posted by EzekelRAGE on 13 February 2018 - 01:18 PM

I agree that strikers have had an advantage for too long in regards to the grapplers vs strikers argument.

If the two skills added even things out more for grapplers vs strikers, shouldnt really be a problem. Especially if he will let ppl redistribute points. The two skills may help mike with balancing things out more as well. Especially if the skill cap isnt raised and ground guys wont be too dependant on the new skills to be successful. That should about even the skills needed to be trained for both types.

This is a really good point, you should not be allowed to reach elite MT with abysmal knees and elbows. The primary skills should cap depending on what level the secondaries that are associated with that primary are at.

I second this

Seems Mike may be ok with implementing something like that.

2. Primaries just being a summary of secondaries. I think it's an equally valid concept to what we have now but can you imagine what stink people would kick off if you got rid of primaries? You'd have to remove sparring all together imo. Plus what about people who want to have good MT but don't want to throw elbows? They just end up with worse MT? I tell you what, you guys propose that :D

Going back to Duphus' post here.  Idk what to do with sparring.

What are you guys thoughts on how to split the secondaries for the primaries?

I think we could go back to what I tried to do with the knowledge thing. And also maybe adjust what skill values mean what for primaries alone. Making them a little more generalized?

Below is a chart of what the new system would look like using secondaries for your primaries.  The main secondaries for each primary would count 100% towards the total of the primary. Ones that aren't main but still count towards the primary would only count like 50% or 66%. So only half the points you gained in punches would count towards MT.

*I know I probably got a few seondaries wrong for what primary they under, just a rough draft.

Couple of example builds and how they would be read under the new system

So, on creation you can have a guy with Sensational boxing right off the bat.

These are just rough estimates of how I think it can be broken down. Obviously more categories can be added to give your opponent a clearer view of what your fighter does, or they can just look at your fights? It may be better to just have all new categories for the various ranges for primaries. For example for boxing, since it's guaranteed ppl will have remarkable/wonderful minimum for them, you can just have 0-200 pts be Amateur boxer instead of a range goin from mediocre to sensational.

Random thoughts:

Also what would you do with primary points upon creation? Just add that extra 100 or so points to secondary point pool?

Doing it this way would mean a lot less sparing for some fighters maybe? Idk how many sessions ppl spend sparring.

This would mess with the cap as well since you would just be counting the points towards the cap double.

This would help ground fighters a bit? Takedowns should be a little easier to get if its wondi wrestling/sens tkd d vs sens/elite wrestlin/sense takedowns?

I need a clear answer: what will happen to a fighter who's physicals are already above that new cap? he will lose that time he spent to train those physicals or those points will be moved to his other skills/redistribute in some way?

Its in post 347 here.

A fighter with a high aptitude for boxing could train to a high level in boxing more easily than a fighter with low aptitude for boxing

I like this last part. Wrote something like that a long time ago.

Pure Disciplines
Boxing Specialist +30% faster training in boxing and it's directly related secondaries (Punches/Striking D)
Muay Thai Specialist +30% faster training in muay thai and it's directly related secondaries (Kicks/Elbows/Knees/Clinch)
Wrestling Specialist +30% faster training in wrestling and it's directly related secondaries (Takedowns/Takedown Defense/Ground and Pound)
BJJ Specialist +30% faster training in bjj and it's directly related secondaries (Subs/Trans/Defensive Grappling/Escapes)
Fitness Specialist +30% faster training in physicals (Agility/Flex/Speed/Strength/Conditioning/Balance)

Dual Disciplines (Im just gonna list the %, you can look above for what it affects)
Boxing/Muay Thai +15%
Wrestling/BJJ +15%
Boxing/Wrestling +15%
Boxing/BJJ +15%
Muay Thai/Wrestling +15%
Muay Thai/BJJ +15%

It can give ppl an incentive to create different builds. Thinking it over more, you could probably take away around 5-10% from the standup disciplines or increase the training for ground related training?

You could sort of treat it like the fighter creation thing is treated to increase fighters in some cities. Where making a guy in rio or w/e you get a bigger money bonus here, you would get a bigger one for creating a ground guy? Idk, probably too complicated.

#727723 Slower learners: Should they be kept or released?

Posted by EzekelRAGE on 26 December 2015 - 11:21 PM

With the cap implemented, I don't think slow learners are the instasacks they used to be. If he has decent hiddens (and not stupidly slow), give him a shot. With a cap in place in the game, it would just take your guy a bit longer to reach the "finish line" stat wise.. If this was when there was no cap, then you would be at a bigger disadvantage. Probably make him a striker, since he wouldn't need to train as many things or go the KT route, which would maybe soften the blow as well.

Great work again Rage :)

Just a little point, Troid is 62nd global, not 79th..although that event was today that boosted it.

I don't mean to offend you though, I can only imagine how much work you put into doing this every week

No worries, fixed.

One org leaves the Evil Empire, but HMFL comes back along with Evil Empire St. Petersburg joining.

With the above mentioned, that made some new entries for the top ten fighters.

#559493 How long have you been here and why?

Posted by EzekelRAGE on 30 May 2014 - 02:51 PM

Been here for over 4 years. I stay because it's a fun game, nice bang for your buck, decent community. You can set various goals for yourself like being #1 manager

or org owner and stuff like that. Also the flexibility. You can spend as much or as little time on the the game as you want.
