McGregor retiring

I think it's a way to avoid Nate Diaz, let's be honest Nate Diaz is an aweful match up for him the guy is bigger than him almost two weight class up, has the best cardio with his brother and has incredible chin. If a rematch happen only 3-4 months after the first fight there is no way he has enough time to adjust and beat him.

It is pretty clear to him he can't fight in 170 lbs and will struggle in 155lbs. He is champ in 145lbs so he can only fall down and he has hard time to make weight at this weight. Even if he win vs nate diaz people will remind the first loss and find stuff to say, imagine if he win via decision because let's be honest if he win it's most likely via decision then people will say "he didn't finish diaz and diaz finished hm in the first fight" lose/lose situation.

So his coaches probably recognized this and told him to avoid the fight, add to the fact his friends killed a guy and he probably don't have the will to fight.

Now let' talk about conor coaches if they lose twice against Diaz most likely they get fired and lose ton of money, so they probably urged conor to avoid the fight, the only stuff i don't get is why they take the fight in the first place.

It is a bit dissapointing but I can't really knock a fighter for setting their own terms I wish more could/did. Hopefully the ufc will start to look at avoiding short term plugs and actually put some effort into pushing more fighters.

Wonder what blood pressure Dana is rocking right now.

Somehow I think this is a way for Conor to get out of his contract and seperate himself from the UFC and go out on his own, like frank Shamrock did back the day by retiring. However they changed contracts so that couldn't happen, but I wonder if conor's latest contract doesn't have an escape hole in it, HMMM.

If there was someone who could break the UFC stranglehold on MMA it would be McGregor, I am going to assume that Conors contract expires in 4/5 years or somewhere around then and by then he will be completely forgotten about. Dana is a man who can hold a grudge, and I'd like to think that the UFC would keep McGregor in the contract until it expires (they done the same to Randy if memory serves me right). Conor shouldn't have signed the contract if he didn't like it, and like a grown up he can deal with the consequences. The UFC prolly see this as the perfect time to show Conor who is in charge, since the UFC 200 event will basically sell itself due to it being the 200th event.

While people are talking about GSP etc, I doubt he ever comes back, not for this event anyway. I however think Browne v Cain gets pulled or should i say Browne gets pulled and Jon Jones fights Cain at UFC 200. The other thing that I completely love about this is that Nate Diaz must have the UFC by the short and curlys. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out also, I mean Conor was the money fight for him, unless he still gets that same money. It would be rather funny to see Nate Diaz retire on 4/20 anyway.

Honestly , I think some top guys who make far from the money Conor makes must be thinking ' what a bastard! ' now.

All that dudes cares about is money.

He has awesome skills and can be a superstar for years, but instead wants to see more and more money and make it rain ...

These guys are prizefighters by definition. They fight for money...the adoration of fans isn't going to pay for their family and future generations to come.
