1 Year anniversity leaves me with random thoughts

its official I've been here a year. A few things caught me by surprise when I first signed up for MMATycoon. 1) its a small community, very surprising to me at first, but after being here a year it makes sense as to why there is a small community. 2) We don't have enough help for new players and the currency in this game is all kinds of fucked up.. im sure there are managers with enough money in their safe to never have to buy VIP ever again with real money... 3) there are so many exploits! from QFC to company stuff..4) Most vet managers dont bother helping new players, and only continue to be selfish. 5) the game is very time consuming.. very boring stuff... however i keep coming back because the game really hits home for people like me that love managing teams, orgs..tycoon.. etc.

so this leaves me to think if I really want to keep doing this for years to come... Do I want to be like some vet managers and invest years of my life into this game? is it going to die out soon? (seems to be the current trend). Why don't more managers bother to help out new members and mentor them? (the QFC abuse of fighting bad builds is pretty boring) Why the fuck is every QFC fighter a MT clinch rapist or a ground specialist? is escapes nerf going to make the ground game OP? Why wont mike approve my avatar? (girl spitting water in the background)

Edit: also want to add. That I feel like the community cares more about keeping this game alive then the owner.

old players don't help new one's because old players are rarely logging on and even if they do they have a lot of their own monotonic shit to take care of. Basically they spent 10 minutes cancelling auto flights, setting up training, sliders, there's not much time left to write a poem about how hiddens work to a newbie.

I love helping new players. It's a confusing game with many pitfalls so I give advice where I see it's needed. I send cash to random players that are running short. I have a few mentees right now, and am always keen to help people who want to listen.

The only downside is I feel I'm helping to get people addicted!

I personally keep wanting to cut down... I've bought all the slots I'm allowed, I've won a few more. I love it whilst I'm on it, but god it takes up a lot of time. I know you don't need to spend hours a day checking sliders, tinkering with training, poring over the assistant page, reading random fights, but I do! I think I just want to win.

My latest fantasies are which five fighters could I cut down to. And would I regret discarding granite chinned potential stars of the future?

this has been said for years upon years and it hasnt yet -- players come and go just like any game, they get tired lose interest just like any game -- also like any game some stay and play forever -- 1 1/2 to 2 yrs in everyone saying game was done and dead wouldnt make it one more month -- that has been said over and over for over 7 yrs now -- to me only way it will die if is mike just closes it down

Well only way to really check is to look at the active members and check the activity on mmatycoon website. But then again that's between the owner.

Some people being overly dramatic here IMO.

You literally do not spend 10 minutes caceling auto flights, it's more like 30 seconds;

Older managers have been very helpful to me and I am willing to help new players all the time myself;

You could log in five minutes a day and be a top manager - have a PA for clothes, tweak training every now and then, look at scout page and set sliders. Even if you don't have a PA you could change possessions all at once it's really not that time consuming. the way I see it it's just something to reward the more careful players.

The game economy is hard to fix. When you "create" money that is not resultant of an economic activity that money loses value. that's how inflation happens - in times of economic crisis the government emits more currency which in turn diminishes the currency value so businessmen have got to raise the prices of their product. with prices going up, people buy less stuff so businessmen have got to raise the prices more. They buy stock for a price and sell for a higher price - their stock gains value just sitting down in the warehouse and they get so greedy with the added income they take advantage of the people's need and keep raising prices. That's what happens in MMA Tycoon. The currency has no value.

In a game like MMA Tycoon how will you enable new managers to play without "creating" money to get them started? Very difficult. Maybe the top managers and orgs should be "taxed", maybe money from game fees and sacked fighters should fund the new players but it is not an easy fix.

Also I'm sure Mike could be more present but as a recent new player I would also like to congratulate him for creating such a realistic, compelling game. as I understand he made comprehensive changes in game engine and training a few years ago and he makes more money from other sources so MMA Tycoon is just about in the right place in his hierarchy. Now it may be time to tweak more stuff and he has indicated this is due to happen - although announcing the willingness to make changes and setting a comission to discuss the problems ("the group") is a classic agenda denial tactic. you can't say he isn't smart!

I have played almost seven years full time. Honestly i dont even know why im playing this game anymore. Latest years majority of my fighters have been just doing nothing. I checked last week i had 6 out of 27 fighters signed into org.

I feel like problem with tycoon is same with all games. Game is already old and new players need to play years to catch up. In many games theres is some kind of resets that allow new players into game (like new expansions), but its kind of impossible to do in tycoon.

Im ready to give money if someone is interested to host some kind of great tournaments. Like u21 tournament was some years ago.

I still like it. Yes it is very time consuming so trying to keep my fighters under 15 active , maybe even lower as the Island is ending and I am gonna be building more projects that will just train.

I like winning and there are some very skilled managers out there so it is very hard. I like that about the game.

Some very valid points OP. Creation tournaments is where the fun is :)

I'm a relatively new manager I think about 7 months now maybe longer and I jumped at the opportunity to mentor when I was able to.

I love the game, I log in several times a day about maybe an hour each time just to ensure I help who I see needs help to reply to messages and to send out contracts ( I'm a recruiter for EPGH and love it).
