Mike Tyson vs Roy Jone Jr Sept 12th

Mike Tyson pros: Bigger, stronger, more KO power, much more technically sound (especially defensively), much better chin, and has that wild dog mentality you need to have to be successful in combat sports. Even if you're beating Mike's ass, he will continue to go at you until you get him tf out of there.

Cons: 3 years older than Roy. Small height and reach disadvantage. Has been out of the ring for 15 years. 420.

RJJ pros: 3 years younger and less ring rust. Likely has kept himself in better overall shape than Mike, can't say for sure.

Cons: Technically sloppy (moves straight back to avoid punches, keeps his chin way up in the air and hands low. Sure a lot of that was by design to bait his opponents into opening up and getting countered, but he can't do that anymore.

His reflexes are too far gone to support an unorthodox, athleticism based style. Chin, chin, chinny, and that's chinny at light heavyweight. Wtf is he going to do when he gets caught by hard hitting, elite, natural heavyweight.

And lastly, RJJ is a frontrunner with no dog in him whatsoever. I watched Tarver take his soul at press conferences before the first fight and in the ring. You get punked at press conferences, you have no dog in you whatsoever.

I think Tyson rapes him, even with the 12 oz. gloves they'll be wearing.

Guys, its an exhibition for charity and no blood will be drawn or the fight will be automatically called off.

They will dance and clown around and throw some light punches and entertain the crowd as best they can for a short amount of time.

There are no judges, and they are both smart enough now to know they want to get paid, not get hurt.

Everyone is gonna be so disappointed if they are actually expecting some sort of fight.

Fair enough, but you stick sharks in a fish tank and ask them not to eat anything - see where that goes lol.

Having said that, I know that Tyson hates competing and boxing, he hates everything that it made him.

So yeah i see an exhibition in shadow boxing coming up.

I don't believe this one bit. He reminds me a lot of George Foreman: both were terrible human beings at one time and both have since become very decent, likable people. But I've seen blood lust (not exaggerating here) in both of their eyes in recent interviews when talking about certain fights and fighters. Watching Foreman talk about Ken Norton was like seeing a wolf looking up from a meal with blood dripping from the teeth. And Mike was damn near frothing at the mouth when asked about Donovan Ruddock. Admittedly, Mike will let his dark side poke through every once in awhile and regret it soon after. The beast that made them elite fighters never leaves, imo.

Easier to sell podcasts and grills when you have a happy face.

Can't stand Rogan, so no.

Don't get me wrong man, I believe Mike is a much better person than he was in the past. I also believe he wants to be even better than he is now, but I would also bet a small fortune that the raving lunatic is still inside there. I also believe under the right circumstances Mike would gladly show that side to you.

Is it for charity or are they getting paid? And if they are getting paid, do either of them even need the money or is this pure ego?

I wish I was as sure as you that no one is getting hurt. As crooked as boxing is, I wouldn't be certain of anything at all. Could be a friendly dust up, or it could be a war with egos involved. I ain't paying for it either way.

Cus damato has him hypnotised at 16 years old and the hypnotist was telling him he was a killer...a 16!!!

His story is tragic man - he was moulded into the baddest man on the planet from a young age and its haunted him ever since.

The income from the fight will go to charity but the endorsements are huge and they will most likely get that and a probably both got a huge chunk of change from some filthy rich promoter.

I think everyone is basing this off of Roys post heavyweight chin. We're talking prime for prime here. I don't know that anyone runs through Jones punches that easy and lays him down. Tyson was great but he did struggle with guys in spots and got frustrated easy. I don't know that i see him missing too many punches without it letting mess with him. Not saying Jones wins, but its definitely not the slaughter you guys are envisioning. Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones

I've been a boxing fan my whole life since I was a child. The one thing I can tell you for sure is that neither one of these guys is taking it easy on anyone. They have to agree to that kind of stuff to have the athletic commission allow the fight. Once that bell rings that's all going out the window. Roy Jones vs Mike Tyson Online

You think Roy is going to go easy on a guy that he knows hits hard enough to take his life? Mike Tyson is not going easy on anyone. He only knows how to fight one way.

After watching that shit show of an exhibition, I'm curious if anyone still thinks Roy would have won if they were both in their primes. Heck, I'm fairly certain even 2002 Tyson demolishes a prime Roy Jones at heavyweight.

Roy fought like a bitch, even for an exhibition bout.

It was entertainment, I guess. Sorta. Idk.
