sabaton
I was wondering how many people might be starting a 350k org soon once we hit that ID number? And I wanted to know if there were any Grappling orgs? I have a couple of guys who can no longer do MMA but haven't seen any specifically advertised grappling orgs. thanks! Alfred
I was about to suggest this one http://www.mmatycoon.com/orgpublic.php?oid=5616 but I see they closed up a moth or so ago.

BuffMinion
A grappling org with all weight classes open is very much in need.
sabaton
A grappling org with all weight classes open is very much in need. How much does w/c matter in grappling? I know the differences with striking. Is there a big difference grappling?
Monsieur.Camara
How much does w/c matter in grappling? I know the differences with striking. Is there a big difference grappling? yeah the speed advantage of lighter classes is still OP compared to strength maybe do 3 semi-open classes: 135 to 155 / 170 to 185 / 205 and up ?

I didn't realize speed affected the ground game. I thought Subs primary stat was flexibility. How does speed affect you on the ground? More moves or easier moves? BlakePhoenix
Personally I'd love to see a 350k+ KT org also.

How does speed affect you on the ground? More moves or easier moves? For some reason lighter fighters frequently go all Aoki flying ninja on heavier dudes. I would try to separate the divisions as much as possible. Maybe 135&145 into one, 155, 170, 185, 205, etc. An active org owner can easily send contract offers for a different weight division if a guy needs to move to a new one. It would be cool to see (all orgs) grappling orgs with a non-exclusive clause option. I think it would help keep it open. I think frequent tournament structure is the way to run grappling orgs. Possibly KT too. I.E. 4, 8, or 16 man tournaments. Grand Prize's vary. Find sponsors (clothing, nutrition, org) to fund them and possibly let them name it outright or add creative twist to tournament name. Convicted Grappling 4-Man Grand Prix CK's 420 Grapplebash (annual 4/20 event) a single fight event where the big prize is 420k awarded to submission of the night. Winner can be determined by a public forum poll voting on submission of the night. You'd have 20 grapplers trying to get submissions on that card. Grapplefest 1.0 (2.0, 3.0, etc) brought to you by Sully's Bar & Grill Maybe make tournaments based on the cities you host them in and run them annually. Jan LA, Feb LV, Mar NY, Apr Hilo, May Montreal, and that wraps up North American Grappling Tour (NAGT). Next up is EUGT (London, Helsinki, Amsterdam). Provide customized trophies for tournament 1st, 2nd, 3rd awards. But might be better to get the fighters signed and lined up for the tourney before running events. A lot of the grapplers will jump up and down divisions. You can also add super fights or super cards and just run it on a 1 fight basis to mix it up. It doesn't always have to be a tournament. I think trying to run a grappling org identical to mma org is not best blueprint for success at this stage of game. Tournaments are the way to go. You can run two 4-man tournaments simultaneously on same card. One 16-man tournament on a single card. Or split a 32-man tournament between two cards. You can host a variety of tournaments and different style of events to keep shit fresh. A 1 fight contract for a Alliance vs Alliance or team vs team event, maybe you lure two highly ranked p4p mma fighters into a super fight grappling match (askren vs bullough style) and you would benefit from the popularity they carry over. You can run ID grappling tournaments. Options man. Doesn't take a fuck ton of effort. Just a little bit of public advertising and messaging the right people in-game. A lot of us have a ton of cash and nothing worth doing with it.
BuffMinion
How much does w/c matter in grappling? I know the differences with striking. Is there a big difference grappling? Their is a lot of lay & pray when it comes to the top tier grappling matches. A lot of the high-level guys won't attempt a single submission the whole match. They'll be more than happy to secure a dominant top position & sit there. Unlike with MMA & KT in the game, the bigger guy in grappling has the advantage mechanically. Energy loss during a match is not a factor. The heavier you are, the easier it is to just hold & control top position. The smaller you are, the harder it is to get out of the control of a bigger fighter. My energy loss theory isn't concrete but my reasoning for thinking this is true is because after the match you'll stay at the same energy you came in with. For example, I have a guy who I built exclusively to be a grappler who can cut to 135 lbs has Elite++ physicals, Elite+ BJJ & Wrestling, & Elite+ Subs, Transitions, & DG. He still will get wrestle fucked by heavier guys & he's had these stats for awhile. He is 1-0 at BW, 4-1 at FW, 4-5 at WW, & 0-2 at OW. You could definitely chalk that up to bad sliders (of which i'm not perfect but no slouch either) but I think size plays a big factor especially with how the grappling meta is.

I used to run an org and one of the funnest parts was watching the careers of some of the guys. If I ran a tournament it would be one of those long ones where everyone fights everyone else. But I have a gym so Mike needs to hurry up and allow managers to run 2 companies =D

Alfred
I'd be interested in putting some grappling tournaments on. Not quite sure how to go about it though or what kind of actual demand there is for it but we'll see. Do fighters still pick up injuries and cuts in grappling matches? I have completely opposite results. Guys will dominate heavier dudes but lose to smaller ones. Off top of my head Kajun Puno. Beat HW but all TWGC losses except 1 we're iirc vs true MW-LHW fighters. Maybe it's bad luck. Hard telling.

The structure is entirely different IRL than say the UFC or another org with rankings (outside of seeding format).
Alfred
No. I don't think lose energy either. So could potentially knock out a whole tournament in a week? Event every other day?
Monsieur.Camara
for grappling tourneys is defo the way to go. Humble and I ran 2 very succesful seasons of LACC until he had to sell the org: http://www.mmatycoon.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=61945 RISE is still very active and holding the 325k fort

I can't see an 8 man grappling tournament doing anything but lose money without other fights on the card.
Monsieur.Camara
We had a division dedicated to grappling (265+) and yes we lost money every single event lol The point of the division was never to make money but to keep grappling alive at 325k Like Karter said, some managers just have too much money. We never asked for money to keep the org afloat but no doubt if we did wealthy managers would have stepped up and contributed.

Aside from tournaments in a "regular" org, would a grappling only org work? Or even a grappling + KT combo org As for tournaments, I personally prefer longer ones. 8 man single elimination creation tourney is a lot of luck. The problem with longer tournies, though, is people dropping out. I could definitely see running a 20 man tourney where everyone fights everyone else before moving on to an elimination style setup. Alfred
I'm going to run some grappling tournaments. Just simple 16 or 8 man ones to figure out how this works. I'll put the sign up in the tournament sub section

I'll put the sign up in the tournament sub section Creation, ID limited or open ID? I have 2 older fighters who aren't good for MMA anymore. I'll also be making a bunch of 350k fighters. If you did creation, depending on when you ran it and how many duds I have to drop, I might be able to join, but creation style isn't my favorite type of tourney. Should have been more specific. These will be open ID for existing grapplers I guess.
