Groundwork commentary (TKO/KO or sub)

admin

Recommended Posts

Please submit your ground moves which end in a TKO/KO or submission in this thread. Read the commentary guidelines thread before submitting your entries. Thanks.

Notes

- Don't mention cuts in your commentary. Cuts are worked out seperately from this type of commentary.

- Please keep it relatively simple. Don't mix in serveral reversals, two missed submissions and then a KO or something like that. It just gets a bit too confusing. Try and keep it down to about 3 lines max, when you're typing it into the forum box.

- Tactics. Someone can set to do no strikes at all but try submissions. So, try not to mix in strikes and subs from the same guy. Having said that, you can do a submission counter to strikes, so one guy can strike and the other guy can counter sub him. Basically you can counter sub anything apart from a sub.

- Winner is always the aggressor on the ground for T(KO)s. There can be counter sub though.

Format e.g.

Start position: ~ in guard on top.

Commentary text: ~ smacks ^ with a big elbow and knocks him out. How exciting.

Winner: ~ (aggressor)

Winning move text: KO (GnP) or KO (Punch)

Start position- ~ on bottom in guard

^ gets caught with his hands on the mat, allowing ~ to swivel his hips 180 degrees and lock on an omoplata. ^ is trying to roll over to his back to relieve the pressure on his left arm, but ~ is controlling his body and pressing his entangled arm to the breaking point. ^ taps the 1-2-3 symphony!

End: Submission omoplata

Start position- ~ on top in side control

~ threads his right arm through ^ left and grasps his own left bicep behind ^ head to secure a Brabo Choke. Oooo it's tight. The mat isn't exactly a tempur posturepedic, but ^ goes to sleep anyway!

End: Submission brabo choke

You forgot about Rampage vs. Arona in PRIDE. Arona was the aggressor with trying to land a triangle choke. Rampage counter with a powerbomb.

Some of these subs are never actually seen in the mma world, and for good reason. when you get the mount position, in mma, you can strike! a couple of bombs are a lot easier to throw than a complex sub.

Back in TUF when frank mir was coaching, his bjj guy tried to throw the gogoplata (if im not misake) but let it go for strikes and a simpler choke. It's nice that you're trying to include some of the lesser used submissions into the game, but they're lesser used for a reason.

Wow aren't you the ignorant one. You can win with a counter move.

Other examples: Fedor vs. Arlovski.

- Winner is always the aggressor on the ground for T(KO)s. There can be counter sub though.

Last try.

Last try.

If the admin has a problem with it then let him deal with it. Don't try to be a internet tough guy here on the forums.

Attempting to explain something to you = trying to be a though guy. Actually that's also the way I saw it.

Actually you got it mixed up. I was trying to explain something to you and you said "nobody cares". In my book that's you trying to be the tough guy and attacking me first.
