Dave's Prediction: Henry Collins via Decision

You were saying? :P

Nah jk, props to Collins for coming to fight but he was never going to beat Madruga on the feet. Good fight nonetheless and I'm looking forward to see how Otavio develops in the future: now @ 4-0 with all four wins coming via straight knockout - could well turn into one of my most promising prospects

Sergio Diaz took part in a documentary about MMA. He was selected because the documentary makers valued his expert opinion, as a true student of the game. He was paid $1000 for his time and in the process got his face plastered over TV stations nationwide.

Sergio "Chico Malo" Diaz (285000)

I talked about that puta who beat me in SFU and how after i win the belt i am gonna make that puta pay for talkin' all that smack. Orale!

On the night of the 28th, we welcome the highest ranked fighter to have ever entered the SFU cage. He spent years fighting on The Island before becoming a champion in a Las Vegas based organisation. Making the move to London, He is the "Cheeky One", he is Roger Machado. Add into the mix another TWO title fights and we have ourselves another fantastic SFU fight card. It's a rematch at Light Heavyweight. It's anyone's title at Featherweight. More on that later. And it is all brought to you by SFU's hardworking owner Mr. Cambridge and new SFU Assistant Manager Mr. Frankham. Buckle up folks, we have SFU legends. SFU rookies. SFU contenders and future champions all in one card. This is StrikeForce Union #12. This is where you need to be on the 28th May. THIS. Is our fight card:
Roger Machado vs Otocanin Zmija
Paddy Ward vs Lucia Gracie
Dmitry Boitsov vs Peter Larsson
Bob Brody vs Sergio Diaz
Jimmy Riddle vs Jackson Teller
Fedor Hunt vs Davie Joyce
Anony Mous vs Jose Hernandez
Your Name Here vs Jacob Frye
Marlo Stanfield vs Karol Biernat
Noam Nystrom vs Tomas Silva
Rankings are correct as at the time of writing.
#4 Noam Nystrom (MMA 1-2-0 , SFU 1-0-0) vs #10 Tomas Silva (MMA 1-3-0 , SFU 0-2-0) | Featherweight Division
Call it controversy. Call it the elephant in the room. Call it whatever you prefer, but there is certainly a number of SFU fans that believe Noam Nystrom is unlucky to see the fighter he just beat, get a shot at the title tonight. Even the challenger himself Sergio Diaz said as much. Let's rewind. At the magnificent SFU #10 event, Noam Nystrom defeated Sergio Diaz via a unanimous decision. Every judge said he won every round. It was a great fight where Nystrom was devastating in the clinch with elbows and knees. How, then, does the loser of that fight Diaz find himself fighting for the Featherweight title tonight, instead of Nystrom? We looked to clear the air with a statement from the Nystrom camp:
"Look I was a bit pissed at first because I should have had that title fight next. But I understand my record doesn't look too pretty at the moment. So I'll just have to beat all the bums in this division until they can't deny me my shot! I'm the best 145'er in SFU at the moment and I believe I can beat anyone in the SFU 145lb division....."
We're not going to disagree with him. Nystrom is certainly capable of challenging for the title at some point. As for his opponent, Tomas Silva entered StrikeForce Union on a high, immediately challenging for the title himself. He lost that fight and then lost his next fight against the aforementioned Sergio Diaz. It was a difficult run and it doesn't get any easier here for "Tiger". There have been some suggestions that Silva is better suited as a kickboxer rather than with us in MMA. His second round knockout of Virgil Mccarthy proved that he has the capability however. Throughout his career, he has connected on 60% of head punches thrown and is just as successful with his takedowns. He's certainly not a one trick pony and Nystrom will have to be at his best to get the win and remain undefeated at 145lbs.
Dave's Prediction: Noam Nystrom via Decision
#3 Marlo Stanfield (MMA 5-0-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs #7 Karol Biernat (MMA 5-2-0 , SFU 0-1-0) | Lightweight Division
Round 1 KO. That is the promise made by the undefeated Marlo Stanfield. That is what Karol Biernat finds himself up against. Biernat found out quickly the difference in quality between StrikeForce Union and the Quick Fight Championship. After riding a five win streak from QFC into his SFU debut, he lost via submission in the second round. It was a good close fight and maybe overeagerness got the better of "The Phenomenal" teenager from Poland. Make no doubt about it, Biernat belongs in StrikeForce Union. He deserves to be fighting the best. He will get the opportunity to do so here. Enter Marlo Stanfield. Whereas some fighters win. Other fighters dominate. Stanfield is of the latter variety. We have seen fighters win five from five fights. We have even seen fighters with all five wins via first round knockouts. But have we seen such a fighter win FOUR yes FOUR KO of the Night awards? We have now. Stanfield was tearing up the competition at his previous organisation. He's made it perfectly clear his ambition, to travel, fight and win all over the world. He has given us every reason to believe he can do exactly that. For however long he is with us here at SrtikeForce Union, it will be a pleasure to see Marlo fight. Karol Biernat will be hoping he's not another statistic in Stanfield's quest of world domination. Of course, that's easier said than done.
Dave's Prediction: Marlo Stanfield via KO
#6 Your Name Here (MMA 2-2-0 , SFU 2-0-0) vs #7 Jacob Frye (MMA 2-2-0 , SFU 2-1-0) | Welterweight Division
Two twenty year olds that are well on their way to becoming great fighters. They have chosen to fight when others have chosen to hide. Much like Metta World Peace of basketball fame, Your Name Here had chosen to change his name by deed poll. That's not the only change that the man from the Marhsall Islands has undergone. This will be his first fight under new and experienced manager Ruphus Duphus. It won't however, be his first fight against Jacob Frye. The two met at SFU #9 with Here (then called Roger Jackson) coming out with the victory to make it two wins in two in SFU. The gameplan was perfect. Jacob Frye is a wonderful boxer and can mix it up with his competent muay thai skills. But it remains to be seen what he can do once the fight is on the ground. It wasn't the desired outcome he wanted following his move to 170lbs but we know of many fighters at 185lbs that were glad to see the back of him. Why? Because he is a dangerous opponent for anybody. Your Name Here knows that. We're not sure if his new manager knows that.
Dave's Prediction: Your Name Here via Submission
#10 Anony Mous (MMA 1-0-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs Jose Hernandez (MMA 4-7-0 , SFU 1-4-0) | Welterweight Division
Here since the very beginning, it's the "Womanizer" Jose Hernandez up against SFU newcomer Anony "Unknown" Mous. Mous' MMA debut was unbelievable. If you have the time, go and watch that fight. Spoilers ahead! Mous clearly lost the first round. He got rocked badly in the second round and had a severe cut to deal with from there on out. Down two rounds he needed a finish and he got it. When? With just one second to spare. One second people. With just a second left on the clock he got an Americana submission and the victory. That is heart. That is something we love to see here at StrikeForce Union. We also like loyalty. Which Jose Hernandez has in abundance. He had a great win at our first event SFU #1 but four losses since has seen him drop out of the rankings. A win here is not out of his reach and could see Hernandez jump back into the rankings.
Dave's Prediction: Jose Hernandez via Decision
#3 Fedor Hunt (MMA 2-2-0 , SFU 1-0-0) vs #5 Davie Joyce (MMA 1-5-0 , SFU 0-2-0) | Super Heavyweight Division
Fedor Hunt entered SFU on the grandest stage of them all at SFU #10 and lived up to the hype with a first round submission of Len Clothwell. Out of Davie Joyce's five losses, four of them have come via submission. He will face the prospect of being submitted again here. The teenager from Dublin, Ireland likes to keep busy but up to this point it hasn't been paying off when it comes to results in the cage. His two SFU losses both came against arguably the best fighter in SFU in Marcus Pereira. After the loss at SFU #5, Joyce opted to try his hand at Quick Fight Championship twice, losing both fights. This will be his return to SFU action and we will see whether his decision to fight in QFC will pay dividends. After all, experience is very important in fighting. Both of these fighters are great all-rounders and true mixed martial artists. But only one of them will have the knowledge of how to use these skills successfully. When is the right time to shoot? Can I establish the jab? Is my opponent stronger or weaker on his back? Skills are necessary. But knowledge is power. And the fighter that has all the answers is the fighter that will get his hand raised at the end of this fight.
Dave's Prediction: Davie Joyce via Decision
#3 Jimmy Riddle (MMA 6-1-0 , SFU 3-1-0) vs #5 Jackson Teller(MMA 7-1-0 , SFU 2-1-0) | Heavyweight Division
There is a lot in common with these two fighters, the most noticeable being that their sole loss came to the same opponent, current Heavyweight champion Dustin Kruger. Both Riddle and Teller didn't make it out of the first round in their respective fights. This is a match-up that makes a lot of sense. For one fighter, it's a chance to put himself back into title contention. For the defeated, it's a slippery slope in what is an extremely competitive division. We think Jackson Teller has a slight advantage in this one. Having previously had the chance to sit down with the man and talk, I believe the man from Charming is one of the most determined fighters on the roster. He bounced back from that Kruger loss with a devastating and impressive first round knockout of perennial contender, Grizzly Adams Jr. Teller is not going away. He's here to stay. Of course Jimmy Riddle has actually held the belt and has experience as a champion. But perhaps most importantly Jimmy Riddle has what every fighter should have. A Plan B. Whereas Teller has little to no ground game, Jimmy Riddle has submitted opponents before and is sure to submit many more. Yes he's only a blue belt. But sometimes that can make all the difference. This one has Fight of the Night award written all over it.
Dave's Prediction: Jackson Teller via KO
#C Bob Brody (MMA 4-1-0 , SFU 1-0-0) vs #5 Sergio Diaz (MMA 5-2-0 , SFU 1-1-0) | Featherweight Division
Da Raw Dawg Hippy Hoppa. That's what they call Bob Brody on the street. This is a baaaad man. A lot of people believed he didn't deserve his title shot since he didn't make weight for the fight before that. Nobody told him to his face though. Regardless of whether he deserved it or not, Bob Brody took full advantage of the opportunity presented to him. He picked up the Sub of the Night on his way to becoming the new Featherweight champion. Now the onus is on Sergio Diaz. He has his own critics now and will be looking to silence them by picking up the title here. There are a lot of contenders in the Featherweight division, all capable of reaching the top. If Bob Brody pulls off the win here, he will send a message to the rest of the division. This is Brody's division. And all of the contenders better get in line to get picked off one-by-one. Now if Diaz wins, we have ourselves a very interesting rematch between Nystrom and Diaz. It's going to be very interesting either way. A dominant champion. Or a free-for-all. This division is one of the most open in the organisation, Whoever can put an end to that can dominate will be a star in the making. Is that Bob Brody? Is it Sergio Diaz? Is it the next title challenger? We will go a long way in finding out tonight. Don't miss this fight.
Dave's Prediction: Bob Brody via Submission
#C Dmitry Boitsov (MMA 4-0-0 , SFU 4-0-0) vs #5 Peter Larsson (MMA 5-1-0 , SFU 3-1-0) | Light Heavyweight Division
Been there. Done that. Got the first round submission. They could be the very thoughts of champion Dmitry Boitsov but he would be a fool to underestimate Peter Larsson in this rematch. No doubt he deserved the win. But there's also no doubt Larsson should be respected. A different gameplan could lead to a different result, such is the greatness of both of these fighters. Somebody had to lose last time round, such is the nature of the fight game. Somebody had to lose their undefeated record. Unfortunately for Larsson, it was his record that took the hit. Fortunately for Larsson, he immediately has the chance to get revenge. Dmitry "Boets" Boitsov is one of a number of SFU champions that have cleaned out their division or at the very least, beaten all that seemed like capable challengers at the time. It's for this reason that SFU has brought in some of the best fighters from around the world. Fighters like Mike Stanley and Ivan Tarasov whose paths will surely cross Boitsov's at some point in their SFU careers. A true champion will relish the stronger opponents. Bigger fights means bigger money after all. It will be interesting to see how the old wave and new wave of SFU fighters compete. But remember, Peter Larsson is not a footnote. He's one win away from being the new. Light Heavyweight Champion of the World. We can fantasize about future match-ups. But Dmitry Boitsov cannot look past the man from Sweden. He packs one hell of a punch. Just ask his list of victims.
Dave's Prediction: Dmitry Boitsov via Submission
#3 Paddy Ward (MMA 7-1-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs #5 Lucia Gracie (MMA 9-10-0 , SFU 0-0-0) | Heavyweight Division
Part of the new wave of SFU talent bursting onto the scene, we welcome Paddy Ward of Ireland and Lucia Gracie of Brazil. These two fighters know each other very well. The Gracie family currently has five fighters being managed by Harriet Marshall. Paddy Ward knocked out one of them in Eduardo Gracie. But lost to the very man he fights here, Lucia Gracie. That was Ward's sole loss. And he has the chance to redeem himself here at SFU #12. We asked Paddy just what it would mean to him if he wins this fight and whether this time, it's personal but they declined to comment. Regardless, this is going to be explosive.
Dave's Prediction: Paddy Ward via Decision
#3 Roger Machado (MMA 15-4-0 , SFU 0-0-0) vs #5 Octocanin Zmija (MMA 11-4-0 , SFU 0-0-0) | Heavyweight Division
There is a long history here that reads like a daytime soap opera. But with more violence. Once upon a time, there was an organisation in London named Solitude. That is where these two heavyweights first came to battle. With only one loss each, it looked like Zmija was on his way to a decisive victory until the last round when Machado got the submission off his back. 1-0 Machado. It was a great fight and a Sub of the Night winner so fans were more than happy to see the immediate rematch. Next fight. It was one round each going into the final round but this time Zmija did enough to pick up the close victory on the cards. 1-1 in the series. Months went by and it looked like a trilogy was not going to happen until both fighters signed with the Slaughterhouse FC organisation. This time the stakes were higher. Not only were they fighting to decide who was the better fighter once and for all. Now they had the Super Heavyweight title to fight for. Machado started the fight very well getting the counter takedown. Unfortunately for the Brazilian, he was also cut. And it was that cut that came back to haunt him when the referee stopped the fight late in the second round. Much to Machado's dismay. Being the warrior that he is, I'm sure he would have liked to have continue the fight. So there you have it. As we enter this fourth installment of Machado vs. Zmija, it's the man from Barbados that leads the head-to-head. Yet so many questions remain. Just like any good story, there is a twist in the tale. There paths have been crossing for years and now, for the first time ever leading into one of their fights, the fighters have the same manager in Ben Frankham. Roll the credits. Play the theme song. But before we think about the drama that's to come, these two fighters have 26 wins between them. And 25 finishes. If you have been paying close attention, that one time the fight went to the cards? Was Machado vs. Zmija II. For however long this fight lasts, this is going to be another battle in a long standing war between two of the best.
Dave's Prediction: Roger Machado via Submission

StrikeForce Union #14 Manchu vs McDonagh

Hello my friends and welcome to the illustrious Hard Knocks arena here in jolly old England for a night of fights that are sure to leave the fans as breathless as the London skyline or a boot from a Brixton hooligan. Many great fighters have come through the graffiti covered doors of the Hard Knocks and this card is sure to include a few more to look out for in the future. With that said let’s get to the introductions.

Jose "Womanizer" Hernandez vs Jacob Frye

Our first fight of the evening is well its unfortunate. Jose Hernandez has totally checked out of his fighting career. He isn’t training despite having plenty of money to get into a top tier gym and his morale is at an all-time low, despite pulling off a slick guillotine choke from the bottom on Anony Mous in his last fight at SFU 12. Jacob Frye is a very good stand up fighter training out of the Fallen Warriors gym, who hit a run of tough luck in his last two fights and was quickly tapped twice by Your Name Here both by Kimura. He doesn’t seem to have done much to shore up his ground game still only a white belt. The men are evenly matched in the wrestling department but frankly Jacob wants to fight and Jose wants a paycheck.

Prediction: Jacob by KO

Akheem "The Raging Lion" Flynn vs Saad AbdUllah

Akheem Flynn is a very well rounded fighter who is a ground game specialist, holding a brown belt in BJJ. He hasn’t fought since November of last year dropping his first fight via decision to a strong wrestler who smothered him. Since then he has worked extensively learning his craft and rounding out his game. Saad is another well rounded fighter bringing all the tools a martial artist needs to go where ever the fight might take him. He took his first fight in the QFC taking a smothering decision with his powerful takedowns and ground and pound. Saad probably cannot repeat that performance against the better BJJ practitioner. Saad has a slight edge in Muay Thai so look for him to keep this fight on the feet against the crafty brown belt and throw leg kicks to try and slow Akheem’s takedowns. But can he do it? I doubt it.

Prediction: Akheem by submission

Your Name Here vs John Winkle

Your Name Here as I have already mentioned is a great 1st round fighter going 3-0 in the SFU with 2 submissions and a KO. He is unbeaten since taking on a new manager and is working his way up the ranks very quickly and one wonders how much longer before he gets his shot at welterweight king Otavio Madruga. But standing in his way is BJJ brown belt John Winkle coming off a QFC win via TKO the ground fighter has proven himself to be more than a one trick pony. His other 3 wins came from his nasty BJJ game. He returns to SFU having fought at 5 of it’s first 6 events going 3-2 with 3 submissions but has shown a tendency to be chinny, getting taken out twice with strikes. Your Name is better everywhere but the BJJ game combine that with Winkle’s questionable chin and this looks like a shoe in for KO of the night.

Prediction: Your Name by KO

Juan "Revolution" Salazar vs Stevie "The Hassler" Hitchcock

This fight is a rematch of SFU 11 which saw Salazar take Hitchcock out very quickly taking him down and pounding him out in less than a minute with his world class wrestling he is also a BJJ purple belt and is no slouch at shrugging off submission attempts. Hitchcock is a stand up fighter who looks to use his clinch work and flashy head kicks to wear down and KO his opponents, but the real questions about this fight are has Hitchcock had enough time to work on his takedown defense? Can he land an early shot and force Salazar to respect his power? My guess is probably not.

Predictions: Salazar by TKO

Pekka Pera vs Bill Grady

Pekka Pera is an excellent striker coming off a decision win in his first QFC fight, a fight in which he was taken down repeatedly by his opponent but Pera was able to stall out a superior grappler and light him up when the ref stood them up. He also used his strong wrestling in the clinch to tie up and beat down his opponent in the latter rounds. Stand in his way is grappler Bill Grady having gone 1-1 in the SFU he comes into this fight hoping secure a winning record and a name for himself. Coming off a slick arm bar finish over Tom Campbell this Jiu-Jistu player’s guard is no joke. As with most striker vs grappler matches it all comes down to who controls where this fight happens. That said Pera is a noticeably better wrestler and has already showed his clinch proficiency. That is most likely where this fight happens, and where this fight ends.

Prediction: Pera by TKO

Steve "Snake" Lucas vs Tom "The Crusher" Campbell

Steve Lucas might go down as the biggest waste of potential in the SFU this is a guy once the cream of the crop in this org with a hardnosed toughness found very rarely, but his two wars with Angus Bryant seem to take a heavy toll on him despite earning fight of the night honors. All of his wins are via submission and is on a three fight win streak since leaving the org but he doesn’t seem to be training for his return fight, and as we all know resting on your laurels in MMA is a great way to end up hospitalized. Tom Campbell is a former RFA champion whose skilled boxing and improving ground game aim to take him to the top of another (better) org. But his first step into the big leagues saw him stumble against Bill Grady. He hopes to get back to his winning ways against a sitting duck. He does it and does it BIG.

Prediction: Campbell by KO

Norman "Crash" Crowley vs Crusher "Destroyer" Breaker

Norman Crowley is a great all-rounder whose only career loss coming via submission to his older brother Darren. Hard to hold that against him, who here hasn’t gotten smacked around by an older sibling? But after that he rebounded and schooled the more powerful Nemanja Vidienko in the clinch proving that technique can overcome athleticism. He will probably look to do the same to career journeyman Crusher Breaker. A veteran of 25 fights with all his wins coming by way of submission and helping to write the history of this org. Who could forget his epic 4 fights with Spike Reaper and the way they traded submissions like boxers trading punches? Great fights. But time comes for us all and time comes a bit quicker for those getting hit in the face for a living. I’m pulling for the old man and he’s the got skill to take anyone out if it hits the floor, the wrestling’s a dead heat as well. Every fighter thinks they got one fight left in him, let’s hope Breaker can prove it and ride off into the sunset on a W.

Prediction: Breaker by submission

Spike "Grim" Reaper Vs Bruce "Chow down" Ringo

Well, speak of the devil, or Reaper, I guess. Spike is another veteran who had a rough run going 1-5 in the SFU despite his aforementioned series with Breaker, the man has had enough. Time to hang em’ up while you still have your wits. He’s a ground fighter but his body is so beaten it’s a wonder this was even sanctioned. Not only due to Reaper’s mileage but his opponent is looking like a monster. Bruce Ringo has no fights but his coaches at the Pro Pain gym couldn’t stop talking about this guy lighting up great fighters in Muay Thai sparring as well as his commitment to rounding out his game for the future. A future which looks as bright as anyone’s at light heavyweight.

Prediction: Ringo won’t fear the Reaper.

Marcus "Gordura" Pereira vs "Fat" Joe Johnson

This super heavyweight title fight feature damn near 600lbs of fat muscle and skills. As well as being two of the most hilariously self-deprecating fighters in the company these guys can really throw that weight around well. This is a rematch of a fight which saw Pereira repeatedly pull guard and use that purple belt to it’s fullest extent getting the tap mid-way through the fight. On an incredible 8 fight unbeaten streak nobody seems to have any answer for this man’s massive strength or undeniable ground skills. But Joe Johnson has got to find a way to keep this fight standing. He’s got a big advantage on the feet and has been working hard to improve his submission grappling which earned him a guillotine victory over Len Clothwell in his last fight. Johnson is the more well-rounded guy, but this fight is about as predictable as throwing two 300lb giants into a cage, locking the door and seeing who comes out coherent.

Prediction: Pereira by submission

James "Lurcher" Quinn Mcdonagh vs Ling "The Dragon" Manchu

Our main event of the evening is going to be a showcase fight for Mcdonagh. Ling is a very experienced veteran of over 30 fights most of which he lost and lost quickly. When he heard the news he had to fight Mcdonagh he immediately passed out, and then pooped his pants before downing a bottle of scotch and reexamining his life choices. He’s got no hope here. But at the very least we get to watch this awesome prospect go in and style on an utterly overmatched opponent. If there was ever a time for Mcdonagh to pull out a 540 tornado kick or Rolling Thunder this would be the fight to do it.

Prediction: “Lurcher” adds a few more minutes to his highlight reel

"I've been here since day one. SFU #1.Then again at SFU #2. Then again at SFU #3. I love this organisation. It looks like Van Ness doesn't love the idea of fighting me. You scared boy? Is it the four fight win streak or is it this "I'm gonna fucking murder you" face that has you scared? Accept the fight. Accept the inevitable loss."

Welcome friends to SFU #15 It’s going to be a big night with 2 belts on the line in the Bantam and featherweight divisions and tons of up and coming prospects looking to throw their hats in the ring for future title shots. So let’s kick this off with a bang.

Sergio "Chico Malo" Diaz vs Noam Nystrom

How many cards have you ever seen kick off with a title fight? Champion Sergio Diaz is coming off a beautiful submission win against the always dangerous Bob Brody earning him fight of the night honors. This ground fighter is one of the slickest submission artists in the SFU submitting the brown belt in a fight many felt he didn’t deserve but he did what champions do and stepped up in the biggest moment of his career. His opponent Noam Nystrom is another world class ground fighter who focuses more on his wrestling and clinch work to grind his opponents down with smothering pressure. This is a rematch of SFU 10 which saw Nystrom do just that and I think he can do it again.

Prediction: Nystrom by decision

Tyson Clarkson vs Mike Stanley

Clarkson is a well-rounded Muay Thai fighter who uses consistent pressure to wear his opponents down and is making his debut here in the SFU after going undefeated in 3 QFC fights. Unfortunately for him he is badly out of shape and will gas early. Mike Stanley is aside from being an all-around better fighter with not a single one of his fights leaving the first round makes his SFU debut as well. He was lobbed a softball here and he is going to knock Clarkson out of the park.

Prediction Stanley by KO

Bo Jones vs Luke "Sky" Walker

Bo Jones is the lineal LACA heavyweight champion who decided to jump ship and try to find a bit better competition he in the SFU. His acrobatic kicks are really something to behold and holds a purple belt for when it hits the ground. Welcoming into the SFU is fellow new comer Luke "Sky" Walker. Walker is an excellent wrestler who’s on a long string of ground and pound TKOs. He also possesses a solid chin but has been KOed twice in his career. This is a striker vs grappler match and Luke has the far superior wrestling, I expect him to look for the takedown early.

Prediction: Skywalker by TKO

Demi "Half" God vs Connor "Immortal" MacLeod

Demi God has looked like anything but in his career so far going just 1-3 despite his exceptional boxing and granite chin. He is coming in from the very prestigious Immortals org and is making his debut here against the very well rounded Connor "Immortal" MacLeod. MacLeod is making his professional debut here so not really much to say about him other than he can deal with the fight anywhere it may need to go. MacLeod is a brown belt so look for him to take the fight to the ground and try and take the striker out of his element.

Prediction: Toss up

Ivan Tarasov vs Peter Larsson

Ivan Tarasov is a former HFC champion who’s beautiful BJJ tore through that org with Kimura after arm bar before he hit a skid and got TKOed. All his wins come by way of quick submission and he’s going to need to get this fight to the ground because Peter Larsson is a bad bad man. His incredible stand up skills cannot be overstated. His nasty boxing centric attack has seen him destroy everyone not named Dmitry Boitsov. He can be tapped but he has really top class wrestling and takedown defense. He’s got better wrestling than Tarasov and he probably takes him out on the feet in our likely fight of the night.

Prediction: Larsson by KO

Nigel "Dark Destroyer" Benn Jr vs Nemanja "The Serbian Murderer" Vidienko

Nigel Benn Jr is as you boxing fans might know a world champion caliber fighter with his hands and has worked quite hard to adapt his game to MMA. He makes his SFU debut too broke to afford a gym to train in. Truly rock bottom for Mr. Benn, who desperately needs some cash to continue his career. Nemanja "The Serbian Murderer" Vidienko welcomes him to the cage coming off a lop sided decision loss in his last fight. This BJJ purple belt will look to take this to the ground as fast as possible and smother the superior striker. He got better wrestling and should be able to pull it off.

Prediction: Vidienko by decision

Remus Sala vs Troy Palmer

This fight for the bantam weight title should be an absolute barn burner featuring two of the most exciting fighters in the SFU. Remus Sala is an excellent wrestler whose hellish clinch game has been too much for his overmatched opponents. The undefeated champion also possesses great boxing and very respectable Muay Thai. Standing across from him is the challenger Troy Palmer. Troy can go tit for tat with our champion bringing his own hardware from the Immortal org. He has been on a very similar run through that org clinching and elbowing his way through every man put in front of him. This is going to be a brutal inside war in all likelihood, that said Sala is the better outside fighter if he feels like getting cute in there but the biggest factor is Palmer is traveling from Vegas and the jet lag, could affect his cardio. Sala is not the guy to come in against at less than 100%.

Prediction: Sala by TKO

Brent "Double B" Banger vs Nino Brown

Brent Banger is a severely depressed man with decent skills but is mentally weak despite his great boxing. His heart just isn’t in this despite his undefeated record. Nino Brown is going to run a grappling clinic on him anywhere this goes with his superior wrestling and heavy hands.

Prediction: Brown by TKO

Gabriel FalleN vs "The British Bulldog" Neo DiCaprio

Gabriel Fallen is a seriously slick boxer with good wrestling hoping to make a splash in the 135lb weight class. His KO power and smooth technique has seen him finish all but one opponent who beat him via Arm triangle. This is good news for DiCaprio who is one of the more talented submission specialists in the division. He has tapped all but one of his opponents. He also possesses good boxing but he can throw that in the slop bucket for this fight as Gabriel is a class above with his hands. He’s a bit better wrestler too and he had better be ready to sprawl because if DiCaprio get him down this fight will end quickly.

Prediction: Fallen BY KO

Big Tow vs Otocanin VS "Zmija I Borba" Zmija

In our main event of the evening we have two very skilled big men with impeccable wrestling credentials and excellent submission games. Big Tow comes to the SFU as a veteran of 20 fights. He likes to use his incredible wrestling and heavy hands to smash his opponents into the ground with merciless efficiency. He doesn’t really need to load up with his ground and pound to do big damage. Zmija is very similar except he prefers to put his brown belt to work in relentlessly hunting for submissions in between his strikes. He’s coming off a dominating TKO victory over the very tough Roger Machado. He slashed the big man open like BJ Penn did to Joe Stevenson all those years ago. It was a blood bath. Zmija probably has the advantage standing up and can tag Big Tow with his superior boxing but this is going to be a grinding wrestling match probably with more than a little blood.

Prediction: Zmija by TKO
