Did a Preview on it for Fight Of The Week but figured just makes sense to post it in here. TOTT will be posted later on when I get home.

Kajun "Pinoy Savage" Puno vs "Le Graisseux" Obelix De Gaul

SYN HEAVWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

It’s a clash for the ages between two of the biggest names in the sport of MMA today as current EVO champion Kajun “Pinoy Savage” Puno , son of the legendary Fidel Puno, moves to Syn to challenge “Le Graisseux” Obelix De Gaul for the Syn Heavyweight championship.

Kajun Puno’s history as an MMA fighter is well documented by his manager Chris Karter. In a weight shift that would make Rumble Johnson proud, he began his career at 185lbs, competing in 8 fights as he compiled a 5-3 record. He would move from Insanity’s Middleweight division up to their Light Heavyweight division, but was largely disappointed with the results as he would go 1-2. He would finally make the shift to the weight class his legendary father is considered one of, if not the absolute, GOAT of. He instantly saw results, winning 2 fights in Insanity, one via Sub and KO a piece, before moving on to pastures new. He picked up 2 wins during his time at Vandemonium, and signed to Destiny FC. He continued his impressive run by winning 4 more fights as he won the Heavyweight championship. Destiny would be bought out by CFC, and Puno made the move over. Wins over Jean Paul Garcon and Samir Lemaitre showed he meant business. In the run up to his fight with Will Poole, it came to light that Poole had been taking TRT but was forced into taking the fight with Pinoy Savage without the aid of the illegal substance. The result was a 1:27 TKO victory for Puno. He would suffer the sole loss of his career as a Heavyweight to Jordi Joestar via Unanimous Decision. He would bounce back with big wins over Mase Force and Slade Traylor to earn a rematch with Joestar, this time for the EVO Heavyweight championship due to CFC merging into the org, and he defeated him via 4th round KO to become the champion. He has since defended the title successfully against Jean Paul Garcon and Bo Juggernaut and has not set his sights on the Syn Championship – A title that his father once held and made glorious. It will reflect a true rise for the second generation star, and rumours are circulating if he is successful that he may look to claim more titles from other top orgs.

Obelix De Gaul gets his second chance to win the first title of his career in this bout. He joined up with current manager Bear Stevenson when he was 8-4 in his career and just after cutting ties with G Wad. He won his final fight in LFC via Unanimous Decision before signing with Legacy. He compiled a 5-2 record in the org, bringing his career up to 14-7, before moving on to sign with Syn, who he has remained with ever since. After a poor start, going 1-5 in the org, he turned his fortunes around by moving up to Super Heavyweight and firing off 2 wins against some of the mid to lower card talent as well as a win prior to the move up in weight class. Upon fighting Mellow Mood, he was brought back down to earth with a first round KO loss. Victories over Scott Norton, Ji Lu and Randolph Turpin would earn him a title shot and a rematch with Mellow Mood. The result was much the same, a first round TKO loss. Since then, he has scored 3 highly impressive victories over Diego Bustamante, Randolph Turpin and Gunnar Steigelmann to earn a title match once more.

With the title becoming vacant following Gymer Alexandersson’s retirement, neither fighter can claim champion’s advantage. While De Gaul is considered the home favourite, I feel Puno is on form too much for De Gaul to stop him effectively. He’ll be looking to use his experience in order to get the win, while Puno will be looking to use his savagery and his manager’s advice to tear through for the win.

Prediction: Pinoy Savage to win via (T)KO in Round 2

Thanks for the preview. Great prediction by the way, you nailed it.

De Gaul is holding his hands too far apart here. Puno throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! De Gaul is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:42 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kajun Puno!

ODG's chin will not last against a Puno, especially the eldest brother.

Kajun Puno will destroy anyone at HW right now in a 5 round fight.

War Puno! :winner:

Called it, Puno is going to have to be edged out by a accuracy beast with a granite chin in order to lose. I don't see it happening heavyweights easily.

Heads will roll. :rolling:
