205lbs : Nasko Stefanov vs Connor MacLeod

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14710907653764.gif vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32w5.jpg

Age: 24 Age: 25

Height: 190 cm Height: 189 cm

Weight: 210 lbs Weight: 212 lbs

Record: 9-7-0 (LWLLW) Record: 6-4-0 (LWWWL)

Pre:

Following his KO (Strikes) loss to top contender Valentin Skovgaard at the StrikeForce Union #48 show in February of 2017 Connor MacLeod resolved to improve significantly in the gym before emerging back onto the scene announcing his debut at Aspire MMA and calling out Nasko Stefanov claiming the two had words at the Glastonbury festival earlier in the year and he had always wanted to "Show him the meaning of Decimation", getting his wish the bout was signed with Nasko's approval commenting "This Scottish guy's about to get brexited if you know what I mean mate".

Fight:

Sprawling well to avoid MacLeods initial takedown attempt and utilising some world class balance to avoid a follow-up double-leg attempt Stefanov seemed the stronger of the two fighters as he forced MacLeod into the clinch but failing to land a jab was caught by the third attempt taking the fight into Stefanov's half guard, pressing the assault MacLeod attempted a series of submission attempts that Stefanov despite his tricky position defended well to survive the onslaught but it was clear MacLeod had been the more successful of the two in the first round securing the nod from the judges despite his clear frustration at having failed to finish Stefanov with no less than fifteen unique submission attempts.

Stefanov blocks a body kick and tries to move the fight into the clinch but MacLeod is having none of it moving out of range easily avoiding an uppercut from Stefanov in the process, wanting to return the fight to the ground MacLeod shot in for a takedown but Stefanov sprawled well and fired back with an overhand right that failed to land, stuffing another two takedown attempts Stefanov once again tried and failed to move the fight into the clinch as MacLeod circled away briefly before shooting in for another series of failed takedown attempts that had left the Scotish native visibly tired as Stefanov ceased the opportunity to finally force the fight into the clinch and set about a course to destruction as he systematically dismantled MacLeods mid-section delivering devastating body shots and blood drawing uppercuts that left no doubt that Stefanov had taken the right in the eyes of the judges.

As the cut man finished up with MacLeod his corner made him aware he needed to take the fight to the ground and finish Stefanov, determined to succeed MacLeod repeatedly tried to force the takedown until he finally countered a failed body shot that had taken Stefanov off-balance into a nice double leg and proceeded to once again look for the submission to no avail as Stefanov once again looked to control the action against multiple warnings from the referee as the action stalled leading to an eventual standup. In the closing seconds of the bout Stefanov looked good landing vicious shots that seemed to hurt MacLeod but never looked like finishing him, closing out the round for Stefanov.

Winner - Nasko Stefanov by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 32%

170lbs : Dave Infamous vs Marcus Browne

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/18/18w18.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25b10.jpg

Age: 21 Age: 30

Height: 176 cm Height: 182 cm

Weight: 174 lbs Weight: 183 lbs

Record: 3-1-0 (WLWW-) Record: 10-6-0 (WLLLL)

Pre:

Following his first round cerebral triangle submission victory over Silvan Wiltord at Just Bleed 30 during his Aspire MMA debut Dave "Destruction" Infamous fighting out of the Sweet gym based in New York is looking to build upon his early success by defeating his opponent veteran journeyman Marcus Browne in impressive fashion but Browne known for his exceptional striking ability is likely to take Infamous to task with 10 (T)KO victories to his record and a wealth of experience to fall back on.

Fight:

A wild body shot failed to land for Browne who really seems to be looking for a power shot in the early goings as he easily deflects Infamous's takedown attempt circling back to the center and using his height advantage to stay out of Infamous's effective striking range as Infamous continues to move forward Browne is able to land a nice overhand right, narrowly avoiding a big left from Infamous and returning fire with a pattering of stiff looking jabs it was clear to see the blood spewing from Infamous's forehead with the referee giving it a second look as Browne missed with a body shot and circled away.

Infamous ducking down and throwing a massive hook to the body but Browne is able to avoid it as Infamous landed a jab before charging forward with a failed takedown attempt that left Infamous looking visibly frustrated, the crowd now on its feet cheered Browne as he smashed his opponent with a massive overhand right and continued to press the attack with Infamous now throwing wildly but inflicting limited damage due to his lack of accuracy. Scoring another crisp jab to Infamous's forehead opening the gash across his head further it was clear to see Infamous was now having some issues with his vision as Browne dropped a shoulder and threw a monstrous uppercut that cracked Infamous hard and I'm pretty sure he never saw coming as he crumbled to the canvas putting an end to this one via TKO.

Winner - Marcus Browne by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 58%

170lbs : Noah Jaccard vs Sebastol Ceomo

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25w5.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/41/41a7.jpg

Age: 24 Age: 23

Height: 179 cm Height: 187 cm

Weight: 183 lbs Weight: 176 lbs

Record: 7-5-0 (WLLWL) Record: 2-1-0 (WLW--)

Pre:

Making his Aspire MMA long time Primal Fear veteran Noah Jaccard possess world-class Muay Thai and a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown belt backed up with lethal ground and pound that has seen many of his opponents crumpled before him, but some have raised questions in regards to his physical fitness and his ability to win if an opponent manages to weather the early storm and this is a perception Jaccard will be eager to dispell as he takes on cardio machine Sebastol Ceomo fresh of his Just Bleed 30 TKO (Strikes) victory over Maynard Keenan.

Fight:

Out the gate Ceomo was eager to take this fight into the clinch forcing Jaccard up against the cage and scoring with a nice hook to the head while Jaccard worked hard to control the action in the face of Ceomo's impressive physical strength, securing under hooks and avoiding Jaccards initial retaliation well Ceomo was able to pick up points with some stiff looking body shots that left Jaccard squirming to break free, surprising Ceomo slipping a big right hand and responding with a hook of his own Jaccard created an opportunity to escape the clinch creating enough space to land a big three punch combination that excited the live audience but Ceomo quickly responded with a nice clean hook that sent Jaccard to one knee cutting him in the process as Jaccard scrambled back to his feet still visibly shaken.

Working well to avoid as much incoming damage as possible Jaccard scored with a series of jabs to the head and defended Ceomo's onslaught of leg strikes well until Ceomo faked a strike to close the distance and dragged Jaccard to the ground momentarily before Jacaard who had spent weeks drilling escapes managed to pop directly back to his feet and waded forward with a massive combination flurry that failed to land, sensing Jaccards increased aggressiveness Ceomo once again instigated a clinch pulling Jacaard in tight to see out the round, a very close round indeed.

A clash of legs there as Ceomo blocks a low kick, followed by a striking exchange that Ceomo's seemed to get the better of utilising his notable reach advantage. Jaccard is tackled into the cage by Ceomo who lands a series of nice uppercuts that snapped the head of Jaccard backwards as Ceomo continued to apply pressure scoring numerous significant strikes over the course of the round and once again securing a takedown to towards the end firmly getting the nod from the judges as the round came to a close.

Cracking Jaccard's ribs with a nice hook Ceomo moved in close and landed a devastating high kick followed up with an overhand right that stumbled Jaccard allowing Ceomo the opportunity to drive a takedown into side control, Ceomo content to control he action. The audience in attendance watched patiently as Ceomo attempted to setup both a guillotine and a kimura but Jaccard defended well closing out the round once again for Ceomo.

Winner - Sebastol Ceomo by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 56%

Thoughts from the CEO:
Hello all, first of all I would like to apologise for having not posted the weekly rankings on the 15th as they were scheduled to be posted, this is the first time I have ever failed to do something I had previously told you guy's I would do and that in of itself is a break in my contract with you the managers and I want to apologise for that, I have been fairly sick over the last week and it's really taken it's toll, I hope to be back to full swing as soon as possible but outside of the write ups I'm otherwise unavailable for a few more days while I rest up from the comfort of my bedroom, I expect at this point given the double shot shows we have this week and the next that our rankings will see significant movement and ultimately I think we will end up moving towards a monthly rankings update as opposed to a weekly one, with that said I will for certain update the rankings no later than the 23rd of May and again on the 1st of June for what will be the first of the monthly updates going forward.
Aspire Nutrition continues to do extremely well having moved up in the world nutrition rankings to the #2 position just behind Humanoid Nutrition and just above the great Sully's Bar & Grill for our very first time this week, when we first started playing this game and got together these are companies we genuinely no pun intended aspired to emulate, Joe Lang of Sully's, in particular, is responsible for a fair portion of our success having always been on hand to give top quality advice and words of encouragement and without that support we would not be in this position right now so I want to take a moment to thank Joe for having our back despite us been the new kid in school that wasn't very cool and had a dream to enter his space of business, a legitimately great guy who has really taken care of us, thank you, Joe.
Another shout out to Raichu Kong of the Pit Bull Hotel and Casino who has started to run odds for our show's at his reputable bookies based out of New York city, you can go right over and bet on Aspire events, Bushido, GAMT and Madness MMA cards right now! thanks again Raichu for doing this, I used to host them up at Aspire Casino but it was honestly just another job that took more time than it really should and I really want to thank for Raichu taking that off my hands without me even asking, it's greatly appreciated.

Record: 10-0-2 (WWWWW) Record: 7-1-1 (WWWWD)
Pre:
Dominate champion Riff McGee has knocked out his last three opponents without mercy and has world-class ground skills to back it up, truly the very best competitor in his ID range at 155lbs fighting out of The Six Musketeers alliance McGee stands amongst the biggest stars in the Aspire promotion and is hotly tipped as a potential coach for the rumoured upcoming Aspire NXT television show that will feature hungry young amateur competitors learning from the very best Aspire has to offer in order to earn a spot on the roster. His challenger the Revolution XC 145lbs champion Xi "BoxeR" Lim made his Aspire debut defeating Ramon Escobar Chavez via unanimous decision at Just Bleed 35 in impressive fashion decimating Chavez in each and every round and establishing himself as a true main event talent deserving of a champion vs champion.
Fight:
Lim keeping McGee at bay while testing the waters early with a nice jab but McGee is quick to retaliate with a thudding series of inside leg kicks that leave Lim visibly in pain, McGee continuing to press forward took a stiff shot to the head by a big left hand followed by a nasty looking uppercut by Lim that sent the champion stumbling back towards the cage. Lim takes a hook to the side of the head as he tries to close the distance before eventually securing the clinch pressing McGee to the side of the cage.
Defending well McGee looked to force the separation but Lim held dominance and continued to strike for McGee mid-section with mixed success, another massive uppercut landing jolting McGee's head back had the audience on it's feet in anticipation as Lim looked impressive taking the fight to the champion and picking up significant points with the judges but seemed to tire somewhat towards the end of the round when McGee finally managed to break free of the clinch and returned to landing lethal leg strikes that really punished Lim for his gains, overall I would say Xi Lim took the round and the judges seem to agree, but the damage to Lim's legs is real and may play a factor going forward.
Failing to land a body shot Lim took an outside leg kick counter from McGee who easily deflected an incoming clinch attempt as he continued to break down the foundations of Lim's now brutalised inside leg, noticeably hobbling at this point Lim tried to maintain his defenses as McGee connected with a series of strikes to the head that left the challenger both rocked and cut under his right eye. Recovering his senses quickly Lim scored with a nice hook to the body that forced McGee to back up and take stock of his situation before once again returning to his policy of leg strike decimation forcing Lim to press the fight back into the clinch if only to avoid giving McGee the distance he needed to continue his torrent of punishment.
Outperforming the champion inside the clinch Lim was able to establish dominance pressuring McGee with a barrage of hooks to the body that left the champion gasping for air and struggling to escape the position as the crowd in attendance cheered the efforts of both men. Breaking the clinch in the final seconds of the round before landing a nice body kick it was McGee who narrowly avoided defeat as a powerful looking head kick by Lim swooped past, missing only by millimetres. McGee most likely picked up the nod this round.
Words have been exchanged in the corner of McGee and he looks determined to come out with furious intent this round as he lands a jab Lim's head and pushes forward with a follow-up left hand staggering Lim onto his back foot, Lim with a nice cross before ducking down and swinging with a left-right combination that failed to find it's target, McGee quick to counter with a solid looking uppercut that forced Lim into retreat. Stalking down his opponent McGee closed off all the escapes and pounced forward with a furious combination of punches, uppercuts and crosses smashing Lim's face clearly shaking the challenge who dug deep and swung a mighty head kick that again failed to land with McGee making him pay landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
McGee continues to pick his moments against a now almost immobile Lim who's legs have been to hell and back in this fighter as McGee connects with a jab that is called into question by some in attendance as Lim appeared to be squinting from his left eye as if to suggest he was poked, accidentally or not McGee showed no mercy moving to swarm him with a barrage of strikes, Lim is backing up but McGee catches him with a final right hook that drops him! Lim covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! McGee Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!
Winner - Riff McGee by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 73%

Tung Fo made his Aspire debut in a shocking first round KO (Head Kick) loss to current 205lbs number one contender Mikael Brophy at Just Bleed 34, looking to get back to winning form he was quick to accept a fight against long time Aspire veteran Philo "Cowboy" Beddo fresh off his decision loss to Cleon Wright at Just Bleed 33, Beddo will be looking to avoid Tung Fo's notable ground skills with Tung Fo having picked up seven straight submission victory's to kickstart his career but with questions raised about his chin against top level competitors Beddo will look to use his explosive knockout power to finish this one early.
Fight:
Beddo lands a nice left hand as Fo shoots in for a takedown attempt easily avoided with a side step, undeterred Fo rallied himself for another charge but failed to get his man as Beddo makes him pay landing a massive hook to the body before once again moving out of range, Fo convinced his best chances are to take this to the ground at all costs pushed himself to once again shoot in for a double-leg but Beddo scored with a nice punch to the body followed up with a swift hook for Fo's troubles.
Fo now breathing heavily as Beddo scored with a thudding leg kick that drew a gasp from the live audience, pressing forward Beddo landed a 1-2 combination and forced Fo back to the cage before following up with a solid lead hook to the liver, catching Fo above the right eye with a swift jab to finish off the motion leaving Fo cut wide open. Relentless Beddo landed a three punch combination that clearly hurt Fo who continued to back away from the action trying to recover his composure but Beddo pressed the assault landing a pointed jab that left Fo rocked, wobbling all over the place Beddo Beddo cracks Fo with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Fo tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Beddo pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Fo is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Helsinki Fighting League 170lbs champion James Darren fresh of his Submission (Strikes) victory over Darren Burns at Revolution XC 16 makes his Aspire debut following a string of (T)KO win's to his name "Paper Moon" stands as one of the most dangerous fighters in his ID range at 170lbs, stepping into the cage with him direct off the back of two ICON TKO(Strikes) victories is Otavio Madruga a dutch native fighting out of The Disciple's alliance with truly exceptional skills across the board and a litany of KO win's to his name should make this one of the most exciting bouts of the night.
Fight:
Following a failed body kick by Darren it was Madruga who landed a nice counter right hand to the body before following up with a leg strike that adhered a warning from the referee due to how close to the genital area it landed, a nice cross by Madruga seemed to stall Darren momentarily before an audible call from his corner resulted in a nice uppercut that gave Madruga cause for concern. Connecting with a series of nice body shots Madruga looked good as fans in attendance gave it up for the fighters and Madruga followed up with a lovely jab that went straight through a gap in Darren's hands and stunned him with a nice body shot that seemed to take the air right out of his lungs before moving swiftly out of range to seek another target of opportunity.
Darren wanting to remove some of Madruga's mobility began a campaign against his opponent's legs instigating lethal strikes to the inside thighs and utilising his jab to maintain a solid distance in which to continue his assault, Madruga cautious of the painful leg strikes remained defensive trying to use his significant reach advantage to paw shots followed up by stiff rights whenever an opportunity presented itself while Darren continued to score well with his punishing low kicks.
Using good footwork to dance in quickly and land a heavy right hand across Madruga's forehead Darren left his opponent wide open and bloody as he stepped up his pace landing a series of nice strikes and narrowly avoiding much in the way of retribution, despite looking solid towards the end of the round and Madruga's nasty looking gash its arguably Madruga still took the first round on account of his brutality early on.
Faking a jab before landing with a nice hook Madruga set the tone for the second round having spent the last minute been patched up by his cut-man in the corner and deciding to go for broke pressing the attack against Darren launching a massive head kick that failed to land but quickly following up wth a crisp jab and a counter straight left hand right down the middle that sent Darren hurtling backwards towards the cage as Madruga shuffled to his left behind two crisp jabs and stinging right hand-left hook combo that left Darren dazed.
Showing great striking defense Darren avoided more than half of the incoming big shots while returning fire consistently with pressing body shots that kept Madruga's energy reserves to a minimum with Darren once again increasing his intensity towards the end of the round regaining the dominant striking prowess and stunning Madruga with a barrage of body strikes that left the big dutchman in serious danger but once again Madruga who had landed the majority of the significant strikes in the earlier part of the round who weathered the storm to secure the nod from the judges.
The third and final round played out much the same as the second with Madruga displaying slightly more consistent dominance and Darren fading somewhat towards the end instead of his traditional late-round comeback resulting in a clear unanimous decision victory for the rising star Otavio Madruga.
Winner - Otavio Madruga by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 63%

155lbs : Johnny Vegas vs Peter Redfield

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/20/20w9.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14691297211490.jpg

Age: 21 Age: 24

Height: 173 cm Height: 172 cm

Weight: 161 lbs Weight: 163 lbs

Record: 6-0-0 (WWWWW) Record: 10-8-0 (WWWLW)

Pre:

When Johnny Vegas defeated former 155lbs champion Billy Bolek via majority decision at Just Bleed 34 the fan's took notice of his undefeated prospect fighting out of the Convited Inc alliance with limitless potential, his opponent tonight "The Crimson Killer" Peter Redfield a veteran journeyman who made his Aspire debut knocking out the "King" Marlo Stanfield in the very first round made an instant impact with fan's online voting for Redfield as the most popular choice to face Vegas next.

Fight:

A nice cross from Vegas lands putting Redfield on the back foot as Vegas follows up with a chopping redwood leg kick that took the feet from under Redfield who immediately sprung back up before Vegas could follow him to the ground, frustrated Redfield pushed forward with a series of wild strikes that Vegas used excellent footwork to avoid before firing off with a lethal leg strike that visibly hurt Redfield. Another massive leg strike lands for Vegas as Redfield fails to land a head kick rebuttal leaving him open to Vegas's clinch attempt forcing Redfield's back against the cage.

Inside the clinch Vegas went to work on controlling the position initially with Redfield cracking his opponent with a nice body shots and pulling in tight to prevent Vegas landing any big shots as Vegas continued to miss the mark with his strikes allowing Redfield to ride out the position scoring nice shots to the body forcing Vegas to switch it up and aim lower with his assault. Now successfully finding his grove Vegas stepped it up another notch piling the pressure on Redfield with a relentless barrage of stiff inside shots to the head and body, Redfield in a moment of frustration flung Vegas back against the cage and unloaded with a series of significant strikes of his own but overall its fair to say Vegas's later round aggression increased did enough to secure him the nod with the judges landing a particularly nasty combination of uppercuts towards the end of the round that had the live audience on its feet in anticipation of a finish.

Straight out for the second round Vegas scored a nice right hand as Redfield fired back with a stiff right hand of his own before moving out of range only to be caught by the edge of a floating cross by Vegas who found himself stunned as Redfield failed to retreat and instead pushed forward into his opponent instigating a clinch of his own with Vegas sideways against the cage in a really precarious position. Redfield looking to take advantage of his dominant position threw a number of wild power shots that seemed to hit more of the cage than Vegas but occasionally hitting his target to great effect as Vegas worked to improve his position turning into his opponent and resuming his defensive posture before pressing with retaliatory strikes of his own leveling the battle the field.

As the round continued and the violent exchange within the clinch continued it seemed Redfield was quickly becoming exhausted while Vegas continued to step up his pace delivering intense body shots that left Redfield considering an escape from the clinch as he defended as best he could the torrent of incoming strikes, ultimately second the second round for Vegas who remained unrelenting in his assault.

Vegas lunging in for a big uppercut that skims Redfields chin to kick things off for third and final round with Vegas comfortably winning the points game so far Redfield knew he had to do something impressive to pull a win out of the bag rushing his opponent towards the cage as Vegas used cat like reflexes to avoid the danger and turn in against the now pressed against the cage face first Peter Redfield, striking a turned opponent to the back of the shoulders as Redfield swiftly turned into his opponent to assume a more defensive position Vegas scored well with the judges early putting Redfield at a significant points disadvantage, never really showing the power to test Vegas's chin during the remainder of the round it's fair to say Redfield stepped up his aggression and took the fight to Vegas actually getting the better of the clinch for the majority of the round and coming from behind to secure what most fan's consider to be a round for Redfield, however, the damage of the earlier rounds had already been done granting a decision victory for Johnny Vegas who showed tremendous resolve to bring home the victory tonight.

Winner - Johnny Vegas by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 76%

Weight: 187 lbs Weight: 184 lbs

Record: 11-2-0 (WWWLW) Record: 5-2-0 (WWWLW)

Pre:

With three straight victories to his name Silent Bob continues to rise the ranks of 185lbs but is still looking for a big win over an established star to catapult him into the main spotlight, enter Ajax Aquila Corvus a mainstay star for the now defunct Primal Fear promotion who is known for his gruelling fighting style designed to grind out decision victories while systematically picking his opponents apart. A win in this bout has the potential to push Silent Bob to the next level and it will be interesting to see if he has the fortitude force the issue.

Fight:

Both fighters exchanging leg strikes in the early goings with Aquila momentarily dropping his hands and receiving a big strike to the jaw for his troubles before out of range, Aquila looking to feint a couple more leg strikes finally landing with the third attempt visibly hurting Bob in the process, Bob pushing forward faking a right and throwing a good leg kick right into thigh that had to hurt Aquila. Both men throwing wild strikes but now much is landing much to the displeasure of the audience who encourage both fighters to focus up.

Bob manages to buckle Aquila's knee momentarily with another nice leg strike and then ducks a massive overhand right and circles away as Aquila now looks to close down the distance sensing the danger of a continued exchange with Bob. Proving to be the more aggressive of the two fighters Bob continued to press the assault landing a relentless stream of leg kicks that left Aquila in agony picking up serious points with the judges as Aquila was forced to retreat in defense, however, Bob risked a serious point deduction as he managed to catch Aquila square in the groin area with an illegal strike who immediately apologised profusely while Aquila took his time to restart the bout allowing critical time for his legs to rest up. As the bout continued Bob's systematic destruction of Aquila's foundations left no doubt he had secured the round.

Considerably more aggressive in the second round Aquila pushed forward looking to score with some nice jabs but Bob managed to make every move forward costly as he continued to batter Aquila's inside legs, Aquila doing fantastically to survive the onslaught defending well against as many strikes as he could was rewarded for his patience as fortune presented Bobs chin wide in the air as Aquila landed a massive uppercut that instantly rocked Bob taking from under him his feet as he staggered around the cage struggling to come to terms with the shock of the situation, trying for a desperate spinning back kick Bob found himself off-balance as Aquila ceased upon his moment to land grievous strikes to Bob's head wounding him greatly as Aquila pressed forward with a massive overhand right that land and connecting with a looping left that left Bob clearly dazed, piling on the pressure with a left-right and another left! Bob is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Former Aspire 265lbs champion "Kenshi" Sendou Kitano once considered one of the brightest prospects in the promotion hit a stumbling block back in February 2017 at Just Bleed 24 when Huell Babineaux unceremoniously stripped him of his title with a KO (Punch) finish that left Kitano stunned, determined to get back into the cage as soon as possible some questioned his decision to accept a fight against top competitor James Quinn Mcdonagh so soon after leading to a TKO (Punches) loss at Just Bleed 27 that had many pundits write-off Kitano who was rumored to be dealing with several injuries due to a heavy training camp going into the fight. Returning to his roots training Kenjutsu at the base of the Japanese mountain Fuji in the lead up to his three round war decision victory over Bubba Dee at Just Bleed 31 silenced many of his doubters but tonight he faces another colossal challenge in the form of 9-2-0 James Daniel "The Bass" Kennamer a talented all-rounder who's only defeats come in the form of an early career submission loss and a KO (Head Kick) loss to Huell Babineux for the title at Just Bleed 27.

Fight:

Kennamer reacting slow to an opening shot to the body does not look himself today as Sendou easily rag-dolls him against the cage and delivers a barrage of strikes that seemed to go undefended calling the attentions of the referee who seemed to be considering stopping the fight right there, clearly cut across his forehead as a result of the opening barrage Kennamer stumbled around as Sendou continued to bring the pain striking Kennamer with a massive shot to the temple that knocked and rocked him before following up with a finishing uppercut that left Kennamer motionless on the ground.

Winner - Sendou Kitano by way KO (Punch) : Fight Rating 100%

145lbs : Kuroda Atsushii vs Andre Soares

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14557927187789.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/22/22w26.jpg

Age: 23 Age: 27

Height: 172 cm Height: 174 cm

Weight: 144 lbs Weight: 155 lbs

Record: 2-3-0 (WWLLL) Record: 11-7-0 (WLLWW)

Pre:

Veteran journeyman Andre Soares made his impactful Aspire debut at Just Bleed 34 with an impressive TKO (Slam) victory over Carlos Francisco Modesto quickly establishing himself as one to watch at 145lbs, his opponent tonight "Emperor" Kuroda Atsushii coming off the back of two straight victories by decision will have one eye on tonight's main event having publicly commented on his disdain for Xi Lim and his desire for a rematch but Kuroda will need to continue his rise towards the top of 145lbs rankings if he wants to make that dream a reality.

Fight:

Soares starts things off catching Atsushii off guard with a successful takedown attempt pushing him up against the cage and goes to work on improving his position to secure a submission but Atsushii no stranger to the ground game is preventing him from getting anything solid as he fails to secure a guillotine. Following a lull in the action the referee is forced to stand the men back up with Soares stooping low to avoid an incoming strike before lunging in with a big uppercut that landed flush on Atsushii's chin, responding quickly with a series of stiff inside leg kicks Soares was forced to move out of range and recompose himself before coming back in with Atsushii pawing off the attempt with a jab to the head before circling away.

Using his impressive speed advantage to stay one step ahead of Soares it was Atsushii who landed the majority of significant strikes for the remainder of the round with Soares taking a number of solid shots to the chin and failing to once again secure multiple takedown attempts leaving Soares visibly tired as the round came to a close for Atsushii.

Coming out for the second Atsushii landed a straight punch to the body and followed up with a nice hook to the side of his opponents head forcing Soares to drop down and drive through a powerful successful takedown attempt but failed to pass into half guard as Atsushii kept the movement going and defended well before securing a butterfly guard sweep into the top position, now from the bottom Soares looked once again to isolate a body part, this time an arm for a triangle but Atsushii abused the position to step over and pass to the side giving him a much more dominate position as Soares scrambled to recover. Soares failing to improve his position and Atsushii content to control lead to a referee standup that was immediately nullified by Soares who dived in and secured another takedown that was again reversed as both men jockeyed for position closing out a close round.

Soares knowing a finish might well be needed pressed his assault out the gate for the third round pushing Atsushii directly to the cage and securing up a clinch that Atsushii quickly broke following instructions from his corner but Soares determined as ever continued to chase down Atsushii for the remainder of the round successfully closing the distance and securing the clinch before landing a few strikes in the limited time available before Atsushii would break free, circle away and land some big counter strikes of his own, the main difference between these two men was very evident as Soares looked exhausted unable to summon the strength required to implement his clearly effective gameplan allowing Atsushii to pick his opponent off with numerous significant strikes that scored well with the judges while avoiding the dangers of Soares's clinch.

Winner - Kuroda Atsushii by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 55%

145lbs : Jack Rackham vs Kilo Jackson

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/40/40w40.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/42/42b12.jpg

Age: 24 Age: 24

Height: 170 cm Height: 180 cm

Weight: 145 lbs Weight: 140 lbs

Record: 5-2-0 (LWWLW) Record: 11-9-0 (LLWLL)

Pre:

Jack Rackham lost his debut bout via decision to Taran Chula at Just Bleed 34 and will be looking at his opponent tonight Kilo Jackson as a way to restore momentum and get back to winning ways having previously gone 4-1-0 in the StrikeForce Union promotion, Kilo "The Coke Dealer" Jackson well known for his battles in the now defunct Primal Fear promotion lost his debut effort against former title challenger Derui Pake at Just Bleed 34 via TKO (Strikes) having previously picked up a TKO (Kick & Punches) loss to main eventer Blake Green putting his chin in doubt, no doubt looking to prove his naysayers wrong Kilo is said to be fully focused on dispatching Rackham decisively.

Fight:

Rackham wasting no time in going after Jackson's legs laying in a thudding slap to the inside leg that left Jackson stumbling backwards, responding with a wild body shot that lands on target stalling Rackham who tried to fire back with a hook but was nicely countered by Jackson's swift uppercut. Rackham looks to be trying to deliver a big show but has switched levels feinting in and is now trying to force a takedown but Jackson is defending well circling away from danger, Jackson with a nice head-body combination as he moves in to close the distance securing the clinch from the dominant position.

Jackson landing a left hand that snap's Rackham head backwards before following up with a nasty inside head shot as Rackham continues to work aggressively to improve his position against the relentless clinch-based offence of Jackson who seemed to be getting the better of the situation despite moments of pure brilliance from Rackham such as lifting Jackson off his feet and rag-dolling him into the cage before exploding with a nice combination that left Jackson stunned and the audience cheering Rackham's name, but overall Rackham despite defending well found himself in an uncomfortable position with a dangerous Muay Thai competitor who made the best of it securing the round for Jackson.

Wanting to change his fortunes Rackham set about returning to his original gameplan utilising devastating leg strikes to immobilise his opponent while Jackson continued to try and close the distance and return the fight to the clinch Rackham used his speed to avoid the situation and while throwing a counter strike to the body Jackson found himself caught off-balance by Rackham's successful drive through takedown into guard. The events on the ground were short-lived as the referee was forced to stand the men back up almost immediately due to a lack of action with Rackham content to control his opponent with all his weight looking sap as much energy as possible with the action, quickly after been stood up Rackham landed a nice cross but was paid back in full by Jackson who cracked him with a nice right hand that drew the applause of the crowd.

Pushing for another takedown Rackham successfully landed in Jackson's guard but quickly Jackson was able to scramble a reversal into the top position as Rackham looked to protect against any incoming strikes before bucking up whiles keeping hold of a body lock managing to reverse the position once more into the top slot closing out the round for Rackham.

Rackham trying for a takedown to open the third round finds himself stuffed and launched against the side of the cage while Jackson unloaded with some big shots that had the referee considering calling the fight but Rackham managed to fire back with a series of strikes that failed to land yet showed he was still in the fight as he circled away from Jackson's attempt to push the fight into the clinch and landed a nice two punch combination that opened Jackson up.

Eventually following a series of stiff strikes as Jackson stalked down his opponent the clinch was finally found with Rackham pressed against the side of the cage as Jackson unleashed a torrent of pain much to the approval of the live audience landing several significant big rights that picked up well with the judges and put Rackham in danger in several occasions but excellent striking defense and a rock solid chin allowed Rackham to survive the onslaught.

Winner - Kilo Jackson by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 61%

265lbs : Lucio Francisco Carmo vs Marcus Ware

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14932048002581.png vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/4/4b21.jpg

Age: 23 Age: 22

Height: 193 cm Height: 196 cm

Weight: 287 lbs Weight: 266 lbs

Record: 1-0-0 (W----) Record: 1-0-0 (W----)

Pre:

Marcu Ware looked impressive in his KO (Punch) debut victory over Kevin Rush at Just Bleed 34 dominating his opponent in just twenty-four seconds of the very first round, his opponent Lucio Francisco Carmo having made a good showing of himself defeating Sydney Amazon via TKO (Strikes) at Just Bleed 32 following a Submission (RNC) loss to the same man during the TWGC amateur tournament will be feeling vindicated and was said to be ready to take on anyone in the division, with two of the most exciting heavyweight prospects facing off this one is set to be exciting to say the least as anticipation for this fight is high amongst the Aspire fanbase.

Fight:

Ware failing to land with his opening flurry is forced to close down Carmo in order to land a nice cross right on the button as Carmo attempts to dip low and drive a takedown attempt that fails to land. Ware smiles as he lands a big shot to Carmo and follows up with a nice defensive sprawl. Carmo landing a nice straight to the body forces Ware to keep his distance as Carmo charges forward landing a massive uppercut that bounces Ware off the cage and back into range but Ware is able to narrowly avoid a combination barrage and circle back to the outside.

The fans in attendance are giving it up for both fighters as Carmo continues to push forward blocking a jab before shooting in with a takedown that drives Ware directly up against the cage, Ware managing to secure under hooks prevents the fight going to the ground but takes a left-right combination from Carmo for his trouble and is dropped by a big left hand from Carmo rocking Wares as Carmo jumps to mount Ware reigning down big elbows that thankfully for Ware seemed to fail to land. Carmo pressing the action looked for an americana submission but Ware somehow managed to survive with Carmo finishing out the round from the dominant position.

Coming out for the second round Ware looked more defensive allowing Carmo to lead the action with a number of strikes that Wares avoided easily before one finally slipped through and caught Ware directly on the button as Ware's hands dropped momentarily. Ware sizes up Carmo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight down the middle as the fighters began to trade in the middle of the cage with Ware getting the better of the exchange for the majority of the round with Carmo visibly bloody following a cut to his left cheek. The round came to a close with Carmo finally securing a lovely double leg takedown in the final seconds, most likely a nod for Ware this time.

Aggressive out the gate for the third round Carmo landed a stiff jab to the head and Ware responded with a lunging uppercut that skimmed his opponents chin before landing a big right hand that sent Carmo crashing to the mat as Ware stood waving him back to his feet to the applause of the audience, landing a massive uppercut out of nowhere! Carmo falls backwards - clearly groggy! Ware dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!

Winner - Marcus Ware by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 68%

145lbs : Rollo Gracie vs Misha Collins

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/10/10w14.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/35/35w24.jpg

Age: 32 Age: 25

Height: 171 cm Height: 167 cm

Weight: 154 lbs Weight: 148 lbs

Record: 15-3-2 (WWWLW) Record: 12-6-0 (WWLLL)

Pre:

Strikeforce Union 145lbs champion Rollo Gracie has blazed a trail of destruction utilising his Brazilian Jiu Jitsu heritage to his advantage with fourteen submission victories to his name having never been stopped in 20 professional bouts and an impressive amateur TWGC record that saw him take TWGC 8's 145lbs championship, fresh of his convincing decision victory over Steve Barover, Rollo made the jump to Aspire MMA following a chance meeting with CEO Adam Holland at the premiere of the hit MMA-Comedy movie "Here Comes the DOOM!!!" staring MMATycoon legend Jigoro Kane.

When the two men found themselves seated next to each other, Holland is said to have asked Gracie "So I see you are enjoying the movie a lot pal, how would you feel about been up there yourself" to which Gracie responded "Is that something you can make happen?" and the rest is history... Gracie recently spotted on the plot of Hollyweird Studio's where preparations for the upcoming Aspire produced MMA movie "Never Back Up" Gracie is set to star alongside former world P4P #1 fighter Helix "Black Heart" Cabrera currently on a hiatus from active competition.

In what has become just another in a string of moves designed by Aspire MMA in partnership with Hollyweird Studio's to increase the exposure of MMA to mainstream audiences pairing active competitors with legends of the sport, many within the industry are concerned giving active fighters movie roles could lead to unnecessary distraction and have raised questions about the ongoing financial involvement of Hollyweird Studio's in the MMA landscape, some speculating that it is responsible for the dramatic increase in production values at recent Aspire shows.

His opponent tonight Misha "The Angel of Death" Collins is said to have no distractions basing himself out of the small town outside of Porto Allegre, Rio de Janeiro and focused on honing his talents ahead of biggest career challenge to date coming off the back of two straight victories most recently via majority decision against Michail Podolski at Just Bleed 32.

Fight:

Gracie missing with a looping left to start things off here in the main event with Collins looking to secure a takedown early that is easily swatted away, responding quickly Gracie drives in and grabs Collins left leg but quick to push down on Gracies head and hop out of the situation Collins continues to defend well as Gracie fails to enforce his will on the situation and is forced to change his strategy instigating a clinch leaning up against Collins pressed against the cage stalling the action while he considered his options. Collins turning into his opponent takes a stiff shot to the head before firing back with a hook to the side of Gracies head, both fighters working to secure underhooks as Gracie broke the clinch and re-instigated it to jocky to maintain positional dominance, Collins continues to try and land some knees here but Gracie is defending well, Collins is trying to trip Gracie who hops around trying to free himself from the action but persistent Collins gets his man to the ground and begins throwing strikes from the top position, landing numerous big shots as he postures up reigning down devastating hammer fists and big elbows keeping the downed Gracie in serious danger for the remainder of the round.

Coming out for the second round Gracie wasted no time moving in for the clinch but Collins pushes off and keeps moving, sprawling well to avoid a double leg Gracie tried to exploit the situation to move into the clinch but was once again thwarted by Collins who pushed off and circled back for another failed takedown attempt clearly drawing deep from his energy reserves for little pay off, Gracie ducks an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face before shooting in and securing a takedown into Collins's half guard, again content to control the action. Collins able to secure full guard but failing to complete a scissor sweep that Gracie defended well before attempting a guillotine submission that left Collins concerned. Keeping up the pressure Gracie continued to smother his opponent while looking to secure a kimuara submission that at one point looked like it was tight in but Collins's did well to survive, clearly securing the nod from the judges for Gracie in this second round ground show-case.

Collins closes the distance to open up the third round looking for a takedown but Gracie simply circles away and slips under a jab, taking a body punch but pushing forward regardless Gracie shoots in and secures a beautiful takedown into half guard, once again smoothing the life out of his opponent who looked to sinch up a guillotine but found himself unsuccessful against the superior BJJ of Gracie who managed to advance into side control much to the frustrations of Collins. Following a brief scramble, Collins somehow managed to roll into the top position but was quickly unseated by Gracie who used a failed elbow strike's momentum to negotiate himself back into the dominance position, once again now in side control.

Collins reaches up around Gracie's neck trying to control. But Gracie takes advantage instantly and he's locked on an arm triangle! Big trouble for Collins! Oh that looks nasty! A human being's head is not meant to turn that color! Collins is out! He's gone limp! The ref steps in to break the fighters up and Gracie celebrates the victory with the fans!

Winner - Rollo Gracie by way Submission (Arm Triangle) : Fight Rating 42%

205lbs : Alejandro Scott vs Gerrald James

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14366146262833.png vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/26/26w1.jpg

Age: 22 Age: 33

Height: 191 cm Height: 185 cm

Weight: 212 lbs Weight: 206 lbs

Record: 7-3-0 (WWLWW) Record: 16-6-0 (WWLLW)

Pre:

Champion Alejandro Scott comes off a long layoff having not competed since February 2017 in a division that has progressed significantly since Scott defeated Thoreaux AssKicken at Just Bleed 25 for the title via TKO (Punches), speculation as to why the champion had taken such a long hiatus was rife on internet message boards, the Helsinki-based Californian native will want to silence his critics and firmly establish himself as the man to beat at 205lbs when he faces off against long time Highland Games veteran Gerald "Booger" James fresh of his recent decision victory over Darth Sidious at Just Bleed 33.

With Mikael Brophy looming on the horizon for whoever leaves victorious tonight there has never been a more exciting time for the 205lbs division with a line of top competitors including Thomas Peterson, Rauta Kansleri and Valentine Skovgaard all having legitimate cases for title contention in a division that has been held up somewhat over the last few months things are about to come to a head.

Fight:

James throws a hard body shot that just misses allowing Scott to force him back against the cage instigating the clinch, Scott immediately trys to pull guard but James defends well as Scott scrambled back to his feet, James preventing a stiff looking body shot from Scott and firing back with a nice head shot that seemed to stall Scott who instinctually returned to trying to pull guard, again unsuccessfully. Scott pressed the action against the cage preventing James from getting the effective striking distance he needed while landing a series of short snapping uppercuts that delivered real punishment to the challenger, creating some distance pushing off James and landing a mighty uppercut it was evidence James had been cut under his chin, perhaps an omen for Scott to aim for as James finally escaped the clinch and circled back to more optimal distance.

Connecting with a multitude of significant shots the champion continued to punish James with his world-class striking ability with James aiming his focus of retaliation against Scott with crippling leg strikes

that towards the end of the round had significantly slowed Scott's advance but the damage done to James was clear and the judges had no issue giving Scott the nod for the first round as a result.

Wanting to avoid the pitfalls of the first round James circled to avoid Scott's opening advance towards the clinch as we start things off for the second round, James throwing his leg strike like a baseball bat into the meat of Scott's leg continuing the brutalisation he had started in the previous round James continued to pick his shots while displaying excellent striking defense deflecting many of the big shots Scott was delivering as penance, finally forcing the fight against the cage and into the clinch Scott fell back on his original gameplan trying to pull guard to the ground but James was having none of it stepping up his intensity to dig deep into Scott's ribs and midsection with furious intent sapping the life out of the champion. Scott bravely weathering the storm before unloading with a series of significant strikes that left James dazed began to find his groove in the second round lunging in with big shots that left James in series trouble once again securing the round for Scott in the eyes of the judges.

Working on the cut in James corner legendary cut-man Mickey Goldmill can be heard yelling instructions to James as he leaves his corner to return to the battlefield and it seems to have done the trick as James looks like a new man as Scott who had initially instigated a clinch before James quickly put an end to them plans escaping the situation and landing a number of damaging shots to Scott putting the champion firmly on the defensive. Connecting with a clean right hook sending Scott down to a knee before following up with a nice jab-straight right combination as Scott scrambled back to his feet the audience in attendance was now on it's feet in delight as James took the fight the champion in an all out striking battle that James seemed to get the better of and would eventually take the nod from the judges to secure the round.

As we enter the championship round James corner continues to work on the cut he sustained earlier in the fight, it's been giving him some issues and Scott feeling the pressure may look to exploit it going forward, James hitting a nice cross as Scott defends a leg strike well and throws a massive uppercut that failed to land, slipping in close and landing a stinging hook before moving out of range Scott looked ready to throw down with both fighters exchanging significant strikes during an exciting period of action that saw Scott seemingly exhausted struggle to maintain his earlier dominance, James overall seemed to get the better of the round picking up important points by remaining continuously active and mobile while Scott had begun to feel the pain of his foundational destruction at the hands of James brutal leg strikes earlier in the fight, tired and beaten up Scott showed the heart of the champion to make this round close but James most likely got the nod from the judges on this one.

Following a nice leg strike Scott pushes the fight directly into the clinch and looks to pick up points firing off a number of body shots that James defended well before once again trying to pull guard and landing flat on his back, tonight has not been his night when it comes to pulling guard. Scrambling back to his feet quickly Scott looked to slow the action but James continued to look for vicious inside leg kicks, returning in kind Scott landed a kick to seemed to go off course and land in the genital area of James leading to a stop in the action while he recovered, it looked entirely accidental but the crowd isn't happy.

Recovered and ready to continue James pressed the action landing more brutal leg strikes forcing Scott to once again rush forward and instigate the clinch as a defensive measure but James having none of it pushed off and circled away, failing to land a leg strike Scott countered with a lovely strike straight down the middle that stunned James but a wild uppercut failed to reach its target as James instinctively used great head movement to narrowly avoid the strike, exhausted Scott took a series of stiff strikes that left him now staggering around the cage limping on his tenderised foundations as James picked his shots staying out of danger of Scott's big counter strikes and doing enough to secure the victory from the judges.

Following the fight James took the microphone and had this to say "Yo Brophy, to be the man you have got to beat the man, and I'm the fucking man now, what of it? come get some".

Winner - Gerrald James by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 71%

Height: 190 cm Height: 192 cm

Weight: 215 lbs Weight: 223 lbs

Record: 8-2-1 (WLLWW) Record: 11-5-0 (WLWLW)

Pre:

Former 205lbs champion Thoreaux AssKicken is one of the promotion's most recognisable faces having dominated the division since its inception with his explosive guts & glory finishing style that has left him fondly in the hearts of the Aspire fanbase, coming off a recent Submission (Guillotine) victory over Adlet Mayer at Just Bleed 32 it looks like AssKicken is on track to return to the very top of the division.

His opponent Shawn "Gravex" McLean, an elite level boxer from Essex, England with ten (T)KO victories this name, fighting out of The Corporation alliance and possessing an impressive Muay Thai background has recently acquired his purple belt in BJJ and will look to keep the fight standing at any cost as he is expected to come out swinging in his Aspire debut against the the AssKicken.

Fight:

McLean keeping his lands low takes a shot to the head by AssKicken that leaves his corner screaming instructions his way to sure up his defences, responding well McLean switched levels and landed a nice hook to the body before finding himself bum rushed into the clinch by AssKicken who forces him against the cage only to receive a brutal body shot that left AssKicken momentarily stunned allowing McLean to use all his might to force AssKicken stumbling backwards as McLean circled away. Defending well against AssKicken's strikes, McLean retaliated with a cracking right hand but remained ever cautious over-committing against AssKicken who continued to look for a path to the ground.

Countering a poor cross that failed to miss AssKicken landed a nice right hand on McLean's jaw before closing the distance to clinch up and immediately shift all his weight into a nice trip takedown landing in half guard, McLean wanting to advance his position tried to gain full guard but AssKicken prevents the movement by controlling a leg, AssKicken now looking for a submission but McLean is keeping active to avoid it and eventually secures full guard ensuring a lull in action that forced the referee to reset the fighters to the standing position. McLean scores with a nice three punch combination that leaves blood spilling out of the right eye of AssKicken who responds with a stiff jab os his own to McLean, finishing off the round with a nasty cross to McLean and securing the round at least in the eyes of the judges for AssKicken.

McLean scores with a nice head shot to start things off in the second round and stuns AssKicken with a nice body shot before stepping back out of range, AssKicken returning fire with a lovely straight right counter both men moved in close to exchange but a poor cross that missed its target by AssKicken would lead to a counter left and right by McLean that seemed to leave AssKicken squinting from his left eye. Perhaps he got a poke in that previous exchange. McLean shows no mercy and swarms him with a barrage of strikes! AssKicken is backing up but McLean catches him with a final right hook that drops him! AssKicken covers up and the referee steps in to end the fight! McLean Jumps to his feet and flashes his guns to the crowd. Oh yeah, baby! How'd you like them apples?!

Age: 27 Age: 30

Height: 174 cm Height: 177 cm

Weight: 157 lbs Weight: 142 lbs

Record: 9-4-0 (WLWWL) Record: 16-7-0 (WLWWL)

Pre:

Former Dissolution FC 145lbs champion Johny Vargas makes his Aspire debut following an impressive TKO (Strikes) victory over Matthew Jones at DFC Fight Night 3/18, known for his strong amateur wrestling background having drilled extensively at the Rooster Coop based out of Las Vegas this native of Tijuana, Mexico looks set to make an impact in what is now one of the most stacked division's at Aspire MMA.

Fighting out of Iqaluit, Canada his opponent "Arctic Frost" Issumatar Tariaksuq a veteran of the Revolution XC promotion having featured on their very first show winning via TKO (Cut) against Walton Kunz and going on to have an overall record of 7-4-0 in the promotion facing off against some of the more dangerous competitors in the division during his time will be looking to make Vargas pay for every inch with his gruelling decision grinder style aimed at picking body parts to pieces and shredding the resolve of his victims, at fifteen years of age Tariaksuq show's no sign of slowing down as he makes the jump to Aspire MMA.

Fight:

Tariaksuq scores with the left hand and follows up with a nice head kick that lands flush before finishing off the combination with a stiff jab that left Vargas aware he was in for a fight, stooping low to attempt a takedown Vargas failed to hit the mark and was made to pay by a nasty hook to the body by Tariaksuq who moved quickly out of range avoiding a wild series of combinations from Vargas that seemed to have the power of the world behind them, Vargas again with a crazy combination that looked like it could knock and elephant out but had failed to land by a country mile as Tariaksuq continued to use his speed to stay one step ahead of his opponent.

Height: 176 cm Height: 172 cm

Weight: 167 lbs Weight: 161 lbs

Record: 9-3-0 (WWWWL) Record: 4-1-0 (WWLWW)

Pre:

StrikeForce Union 155lbs champion Kai Yamaguchi upon hearing of the contract negotiations between his buddy Rollo Gracie and Aspire MMA made note of his soon to be expired contract and made a phone call to Gracie sounding out the kind of numbers he was negotiating for, upon hearing about the included movie deal and the vision for the promotion outlined by CEO Adam Holland it was clear to Kai that he needed to make the jump, thankfully Gracie was on-set with Holland at the time and simply passed the phone over and arrangements where made to fly Kai into Hollyweird Studio's later that day leading to a multi-fight deal been signed and Kai taking a guest star appearance in the "Never Back Up" production. Content with his role in the movie and with increased exposure of the blitz media tour that followed Kai requested and received his first opponent.

"The Northern Wolf" Pekko Wannanen fresh of his victory against Brandon Lee via TKO (Strikes) at Just Bleed 32 was all too eager to step-up to the challenge of fighting the StrikeForce Union champion having knocked out all of his professional MMA opponents with exception to Lee Sanq Seok who beat him with a surprise Submission (RNC) at Helsinki Fighting League: 44 back in December of 2016, having since acquired his purple belt and honing his already impressive wrestling base ontop of his evident KO power Pekko is considered one of the most dangerous prospects at 155lbs.

Fight:

Yamaguchi delivers a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of Wannanen's thigh and follows up with another slapping strike to the inside leg before landing a decent hook and scoring with a pointed jab, Wannanen wanting to reduce the incoming damage closed in the distance to secure the clinch and received a stiff inside uppercut from Yamaguchi who displayed fantastic striking defense to avoid several brutal body shots by Wannanen but failed to avoid a nasty looking elbow to the head. Responding to the pressure Yamaguchi fired back with a nice right and pushed Wannanen back against the cage before unloading with a devastating body punch that seemed to take the air right out Wannanen's lungs forcing Wannanen to circle away escaping the clinch.

Back under the pressure of an impressive series of leg strikes by Yamaguchi. Wannanen taking a lot of stiff shots during this period but managing to keep his composure and strong defensive positioning to reduce the toll its taking on him, firing back with strikes of oppertunity whenever possible. Yamaguchi now clearly getting the better of the standup battle as Wannanen is forced to fake an overhand right and move right back into the clinch, controling the action as best he can Wannanen managed to survive the round with Yamaguchi picking up a clear nod from the judges.

Out for the second Yamaguchi digs a good body shot into Wannanen's rib cage as Wannanen responds by faking a leg strike and cracking Yamaguchi in his bread basket as both men begin to brawl it out with Wannanen seemingly getting the better of the early exchange and Yamaguchi forcing the issue as he closed distance to engage a clinch, Wannanen stepping up his intensity looked to break Yamaguchi's control and weight in with some heavy shots but was well defended by Yamaguchi who used the close range to prevent additional damage before pushing off and landing a massive uppercut but failing to land a monstrous head kick to follow and receiving a big right hand from Wannanen for his troubles. Wannanen continuing to show impressive striking on the outside managed to firmly secure the round in the eye's of the judges.

Visibly exhausted coming out for the third Wannanen defended well to survive the third and final round but never looked as dangerous as he had in the previous round with Yamaguchi able to grind down his opponent with stiff body shots and a grueling positional battle in the clinch that left Wannanen open to decimation on the outside towards the end of the round, picking up vital points and securing the fight by unanimous decision for Yamaguchi.

Yusuke looks to be waiting on a big counter strike as David continues to push the pace throwing but not always hitting his target with some stiff looking shots. David dips to his left and cracks Yusuke with a nasty uppercut before following up with a two-punch combination that received the cheers of the audience, another overhand left by David who now looked to incorporate leg strikes into the mix but Yusuke defending well slapped it away before slipping under a jab and countering with a stiff body shot.

Yusuke is closing down his opponent looking to force a clinch but he's going to have to hurt David to get it who remains extremely mobile, Yusuke clobbering David with an overhand right that had the live audience gasping at the horrendous noise it made rushed forward and secured the clinch pushing David against the cage but David used his impressive strength to force a break. Yusuke is warned by the referee to keep his fist closed as he slapped his opponent as David fakes an overhand right and shoots in for a successful takedown.

On the ground, Yusuke throws his legs up looking for a submission but David is aware and defends well, Yusuke looking to isolate a limb or gain a choke manages to grab the omoplata putting David in some discomfort momentarily before using his excellent ground skills to escape. Firing down a couple of shots on Yusuke the referee warned both men to stay active as David passed into side control to close out the round for Elijah David.

Pre:

"The Hitman" Glen Taylor has struggled in his last two encounters suffering TKO loss's to Adam Baranowski at Just Bleed 24 and Reno Rawlings at Just Bleed 28 and will know that his 2-3-0 Aspire record will need to improve if he hopes to carve out a name for himself in the deeply stacked 155lbs division, his Affe "Ice Cold" Vanhanen making his Aspire Debut is a former DFC 155lbs champion coming off two straight losses of his own, firstly against the current Dignity 155lbs champion Noam Nystrom via TKO (Cut) at Revolution XC 15 and a Submission (Kimuara) loss to top contender Khabib Nurmagomedov at Revolution XC 17 and will be looking to turn his fortunes around tonight.

Fight:

Vanhanen instigates the clinch early but fails to make it count as Taylor delivers a big right hand forcing Vanhanen to break from the position, circling round Vanhanen threw a loose overhand right and drove a double leg takedown successfully down to the mat, Taylor defending well from a series of shows reigned down from the top position, Vanhanen looking to advance his position but is quickly thrown off balance by Taylor's scissor sweep and has lost the top position, now on the bottom Vanhanen is looking to escape but Taylor seemed to be in firm control of the situation until Vanhanen bucked up and managed to score a nice reversal of his own securing once again the top position. Vanhanen throwing elbow bombs missed with the last in a series of strikes allowing Taylor to use the momentum to once again secure top position and set about advancing his position but Vanhanen does well to stall the action. Following a referee standup, Taylor was able to close out the round with some nice shots taking the round on points.

Straight back into the clinch for Vanhanen kicking off the second round but curiously Vanhanen seem's to want out just as quickly as he entered as Taylor lands some stiff shots from close range once again forcing Vanhanen to break the position and seek his fortunes on the outside. Vanhanen displaying some solid footwork as he positions himself to strike with a heavy handed right but Taylor seems to be getting the better of the overall standup using his natural intelligence to close down the cage and isolate Vanhanen's movements with precision strikes. A low kick from Vanhanen lands where it shouldn't have right in the gentile area bringing about a halt to the action as Taylor recovers.

Resuming the action Vanhanen looked to bum rush Taylor with a series of wild strikes but Taylor uses good footwork to avoid the assault and strikes with a powerful jab to Vanhanen's jaw that left him cut and bleeding, following up with a nice combination and a barrage of jabs to close the distance Taylor cracked Vanhanen right on the jaw with a heavy hand that left Vanhanen rocked and many in attendance expecting a finish but Vanhanen showed great heart to stay in the fight closing out the round again for a dominant Taylor.

Learning his lesson from the earlier rounds Vanhanen decided to stay on the outside and try to turn the fight into more of a boxing match but Taylor stayed ever dangerous having done significant damage to Vanhanen in the preceding rounds and Vanhanen never looked like getting the better of the situation resulting in a unanimous decision victory for Glen Taylor.

Fight:

A jab from Idowu to spark things off as Wilder returns fire with a shot that cracked his opponent's skull hard and left Idowu stumbling back into the cage, quick to press the attack Wilder moved in close but Idowu stooping low to avoid danger lunged upwards with a nice uppercut that landed flush. Idowu looking for the takedown but Wilder sprawls well to defend and lands a swift cross to the head of Idowu for his trouble, Idowu throwing some nice combinations but Wilder us using great footwork to avoid any real danger.

Following a standup by the referee during a lull in the action Wilder managed to connect with a series of big shots that picked up well with the judges score cards.

Coming out for the second round Idowu wasted no time in securing the takedown but was abruptly thrown aside as Wilder returned to his feet, seemingly the more aggressive of the fighters Idowu pressed in close and threw a big right hand that missed its target allowing Wilder to counter with a big right of his own, the following melee had Idowu swinging for the fences as Wilder counter punched himself to the attentions of the judges with Idowu desperate to secure a takedown in the face of the danger but seriously depleting his energy reserves with every failed attempt. Rocking Idowu with a decent hook late into the second round Wilder stepped up his intensity and pushed for a Huge head kick that put Idowu out on his feet! Wilder rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Idowu is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Idowu is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Thoughts from the CEO:

In this week's thoughts from the CEO I can only talk about one subject, perhaps it should not be on the table in a fictional MMA world but it is the only thought in my mind this week and for that I apologise to our international readers who may not be familiar with the subject.

I want to send out my heartfelt support and condolences to the victims, the victims families and friends, the people of the city of Manchester and indeed the entire nation of England in what has been the most horrific of terror attacks on the 22nd of May 2017 at the Manchester Arena.

I have found myself reflecting a lot this week on what really matters in life, what is worth fighting for, who is to blame and more than anything else my admiration for the strength the people of Manchester and indeed the entire nation has shown in support and unity against such acts of abhorrent senseless violence, in this darkest of times we are reminded of the decency that exists within our common humanity for each other as a community and the pride I feel as a British citizen in seeing my people come together like this.

I won't get political, this isn't the place. I just felt it was important to document how I felt at this time, as a reminder to myself in the future when I read all of this back never to forget the people lost on this day and the way it made us all feel, because we will use this feeling to power us forward against terror even in the coldest of hours.

Thank you all for the continued support, Adam.

Moscow, Russia's own Alexei "Zamo´k" Chernokov picked up a stunning TKO (Strikes) victory over top contender Rodney Smith in the final seconds of the very first round, catapulting him into the upper echelons of the 155lbs division and securing his first Aspire Magazine cover in May of 2017 with an impressive shot taken cage side of Chernokov reigning down devastation upon Smith. Happy to accept his next opponent Chernokov made it known he's comfortable going to the ground with Pain but questioned if Pain had the fortitude to stand and bang or not, only time will tell.

Pain responding well dropping back for a leg but fails to secure his target as Chernokov continues to try to improve his position sinching his legs around Pains neck looking for a triangle, unsuccessful in his attempt Chernokov used his momentum to gain the top position. Pain again looking for the submission but settles for a sweep into top position, both men display fantastic BJJ as the round came to a close with Pain most likely getting the nod.

Out for the second round Pain catches Chernokov with a nice straight right and maintains good distance avoiding an incoming body shot before switching levels and securing a takedown, failing to secure a deep set kimura due to Chernokov's explosive strength who ended up in the dominant position holding side-control as a result it was Chernokov who managed to score a number of notable ground and pound strikes picking up well with the judges before eventually been swept by Pain in a beautiful display of BJJ. Chernokov continues to pickup points here following a nice reversal and a series of thudding ground and pound strikes that left him way ahead with the judges closing out the second round with a clear nod for Chernokov.

As the third round unfolded Chernokov managed to keep the fight standing avoiding Pain's attempts to take the fight to the ground and scoring well with the judges picking up the majority of the points in the standing exchanges that dominated the first three minutes of the round, intent on enforcing his desire upon Chernokov it was Pain who dug deep to secure a double leg takedown and closed out the round from the top position as Chernokov looked for a submission from the bottom, successfully managing to limit the damage Pain was able to inflict and most likely securing the nod from the judges.

In a surprising turn of event's the judges shocked the fan's in attendance by announcing a majority draw 29:29, 29:29, 28:29 in a result that will very likely see these two back in the cage at the earliest opportunity to establish a definitive winner. Some have speculated that Vova "Shoumen" Klimov's two successive losses against top-flight competition since his Aspire MMA debut have failed to hurt his popularity with the fan's due to his exciting style and unquantifiable natural charisma, perhaps this is the case or perhaps it is the well-documented charity work "Shoumen" is known for that keep's him in such good standing with the fan's, whatever the case it's clear Vova is still a big time main event draw with years of dominate success under his belt in the Hardcore FC behind him, inspite of all of this he will undoubtedly be hungry for a victory.

Ikka "Runtu" Runnisto a former Helsinki Fighting League 205lbs champion before making the drop to 185lbs at the end of 2016 made his Aspire MMA debut at Just Bleed 35 in much-hyped decision war against Reuben Kincaid. Looking to get back to winning form he was reported in a recent addition of Aspire Magazine to be in the process of finding a new gym where he can focus on his striking ability and return to his early career (T)KO dominance, rumours around the MMA online community have suggested Legendary striking coach Leonidas Katsaros who is known to have worked with P4P #1 Kajun Puno has been linked with Runnisto of late leading fan's online to expect big things from the Lappeenranta, Finland native.

Fight:

Runnisto avoids an incoming strike from Klimov with some solid head movement before trading strikes, Klimov seem's to be getting the better of the exchange with Runnisto looking to close the distance and secure the clinch, engaged in a battle for position against the cage it's clear Runnisto is looking to secure a takedown or pull guard but Klimov is defending well and breaks the clinch before landing a nice right that left Runnisto cut wide open, faking high and shooting in Runnisto narrowly missed a takedown attempt as Klimov continued to test his opponent's chin with stiff shots.

Runnisto with another failed takedown attempt as Klimov counters with a heavy hand and a series of big lefts that leave the audience in applause however while soaking in the adoration of the audience Klimov was caught napping as Runnisto secured a takedown into guard, Klimov used his veteran experience to escape the position and immediately return to his feet but is visibly shaken that the attempt was successful at all. Runnisto now seeming to get the better of the standup exchange as he pressed forward to instigate the clinch, Klimov landing a nasty uppercut that made his opponent think twice but never the less pushing forward Runnisto secured the clinch pressing Klimov against the cage, looking again for the takedown as Klimov defended well and managed to once again escape the position, closing out the round Runnisto scored well with the judges landing several notable strikes leaving this opening round very close, but Klimov most likely tipped it due to his earlier exploits.

Out for the second Klimov lands a nice hook to the side of the head of Runnisto that left his victim's ears ringing but failed to capitalise with a series of shots that failed to land as Runnisto backed out of range, with another failed takedown to his list Runnisto looked exhausted at this point with Klimov continuing to defend well while landing stiff shots to the side of Runnisto's head as he charged in for yet another failed takedown attempt. Poor footwork there from Runnisto see's him in a bit of a tangle as Klimov scores with a decent uppercut right on the sweet spot that left Runnisto rocked, another major hook to the body left Runnisto gasping for air as Klimov piled on the pressure. Klimov steps in with a hook that catches Runnisto right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Klimov follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Runnisto looks absolutely devastated.

205lbs: Rauta Kansleri vs Valentin Skovgaard

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14920270881924.gif vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/13/13w17.jpg

Age: 24 Age: 24

Height: 192 cm Height: 187 cm

Weight: 211 lbs Weight: 210 lbs

Record: 12-4-0 (WLWLW) Record: 11-2-0 (WWWWL)

Pre:

When asked who the brightest star currently rising in Aspire MMA was during an interview with Good Morning TV last week Aspire CEO Adam Holland was quick to mention Valentin Skovgaard who he suggested received almost as much fan mail as 145lbs champion Riff McGee, arguably the biggest star in the promotion. Much of Skovgaard's success comes from his explosive finishing style and a natural badass aura that surrounds the 187 cm dane, his opponent tonight fresh off a decisive victory over Darth Sidious at Just Bleed 37 is former Primal Fear 205lbs champion Rauta Kansleri a man known for his hang-and-bang fighting style that can test even the greatest of fighters confidence, at 192 cm he towers amongst the giants of the 205lbs division.

Fight:

Looking strong from the get go Kansleri pummeled Skovgaard's right eye socket with some serious power leaving Skovgaard visibly hurt before firing back with a counter big right hand that connected. Kansleri driving forwards lifted Skovgaard momentarily off the canvas and pushed him against the cage but with both men displaying world class striking defense neither was able to take out-right advantage of the position, Kansleri breaking the position landed a series nice right hands that left Skovgaard dazed as Kansleri continued to unload with numerous strikes to the body that took the air from lungs of the young prospect. Kansleri seemingly getting the better of the fight early on before Skovgaard's corner yelling instructions lead to Skovgaard switching his focus and targeting some powerful shots of his own to Kansleri's mid-section.

Kansleri dipping down to score a nice jab and a thudding leg strike that really made a noise, peppering his opponent with head punches Kansleri pressed the action but looks exhausted from having unloaded so much so early allowing Skovgaard to crack him with a big right hand that sent him crashing to the floor blood gushing out of his face in a shocking moment that left the arena on its feet as Skovgaard waved the punch drunk Kansleri to his feet. The round ended with Skovgaard now noticeably more aggressive taking Kansleri to task but despite the excitement of the end of the round it's clear Kansleri did enough to pickup the nod this round at least on paper.

Skovgaard looking increasingly cautious as we begin the second round knowing he has the power to finish Kansleri but is finding himself outclassed when it comes to point scoring as Kansleri continued to pile the pressure on displaying excellent footwork to dart in and out of range landing numerous less powerful yet all the same connecting strikes that continued to sit with the judges favourably, Skovgaard landing a monstrous uppercut towards the end of the round was one of the few times the fight looked like coming to a finish with most fan's finding themselves a little disappointed with Skovgaards lack of aggression given the deficit of points he faced as the second round drew to a close for a clear dominate Kansleri who having recovered his senses showed his class.

Out for the third round any doubt left in the minds of the live attendance were quickly put to rest as Skovgaard landed a stiff mid-kick before backing up Kansleri rushing forward as Kansleri backs away from a small jab... but Skovgaard lunges forward with a huge superman punch! Kansleri crumples to the ground as his mouthpiece is sent flying! Skovgaard with a spectacular finish!

Following the fight Skovgaard stated in his post-fight interview "I did not come here to score points tonight, I came here to finish and that's what I did, I say to my fans, skål !!!!"

Winner - Valentin Skovgaard by way KO (Superman Punch) : Fight Rating 73%

185lbs: Bjarni Agnarsson vs Casper Timmermans

Height: 185 cm Height: 187 cm

Weight: 191 lbs Weight: 187 lbs

Record: 10-4-0 (LWWWW) Record: 7-1-0 (LWWWW)

Pre:

Casper Timmermans stands as one of the longest reigning champion in Aspire history having secured the 185lbs title from Aksel Stenger back in December of 2016 and going on to defeat William Wallace, Ken Womack, Kimbo Spice and Vova Klimov in successive title defenses before finally been defeated by current champion Harry Winston at Just Bleed 36, many have speculated Casper Timmermans is a lock for the Aspire Hall of Fame inductions set for the end of the summer, however Timmermans has made it known he's far from done and has every intention of clawing his way back to the title at all costs, his first run on the ladder will be tonight's challenger fresh of his Aspire MMA debut loss to Spank Crank at Just Bleed 36, former StrikeForce Union 185lbs champion Bjarni Agnarsson.

Fight:

Agnarsson looks to be seeking a counter strike policy in this fight with Timmermans clearly the more aggressive of the two pressing forward looking to instigate a clinch but Agnarsson swats it away and continues to looking for a big shot as both men cautiously respect each others striking ability with little landing in the opening minute of the round, finally Timmermans seems to have found his grove and starts delivering thudding inside leg kicks to Agnarsson that quickly seemed to take effect slowing down the normally lighting quick prospect, missing with a lunging right hand Timmermans takes a lovely shot to the body as Agnarsson smiles and circles away from the latest attempt to drive the fight into the clinch.

Timmermans fakes a right hand and throws a good leg kick to Agnarsson's thighs that echoed around the arena causing the fans in attendance to gasp in horror as Agnarsson gutted out the pain to deliver a series of nice body strikes, Agnarsson avoids a head kick well and lands a nice jab but receives a nice cross to the side of his head for his trouble as Timmermans uses the opportunity to finally force him back against the cage and proceeds to unload numerous significant strikes that have the fans in attendance on their feet in anticipation of a finish, Agnarsson struggling to defend as the referee watched closely warning him he would call the fight if he didn't step up his defense, surprisingly Timmermans corner called for him to break the clinch and he obliged allowing Agnarsson air to breath.

Agnarsson with a nice pitter patter jab to the forehead before checking a leg kick bone-on-bone, Timmermans feinting to close the distance but Agnarsson is staying clear of the clinch at all costs, Timmermans cracking his opponent with a nice shot to the head as the round draws to a close clearly in the favour of the former champion.

Agnarsson looking increasingly aggressive as they come out for the second round pressing forward but missing with a body kick it was Timmermans with a combination of nice straight punches that left Agnarsson feeling the pain, both men exchanging blows with Timmermans catching Agnarsson's nose with enough power to make him bleed before throwing a lazy looking head kick that left Timmermans staggering backwards and Agnarsson picking up a lovely counter strike with significant power that definitely hurt Timmermans, more cautiously now Timmermans looked to pick his moments as the crowd encouraged both fighters to get stuck in.

Timmermans landing a nice uppercut that bounced Agnarsson off the cage and back into range but Agnarsson quick to respond with a monstrous uppercut of his own that left Timmermans in trouble as Agnarsson followed up with a stiff leg strike, sensing the danger of his situation Timmermans dug deep, landing a furious big head kick that sent Agnarsson tumbling to the canvas. Waving his clearly rocked opponent back to his feet, Timmermans throws a monster overhand right that drops Agnarsson! Timmermans follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Winner - Casper Timermans by way TKO (Strikes) : Fight Rating 58%

Pre:

Bouncing back immediately following his Armbar Submission loss to current 170lbs champion Ramon Gracie at Just Bleed 30 it was former 170lbs champion Dum Debble scoring a third round TKO (Strikes) victory over top contender Andy Fitzgerald that let the world know he was not to be forgotten, his opponent tonight Heribert Bosch of Trier, Germany a decision grinder of StrikeForce Union fame holds a victory over current Aspire 185lbs champion Harry Winston and was quick to remind reporters of this fact in the May edition of the Aspire Magazine stating "When I climb to the top of 170lbs, hell I could even move up to 185lbs and become a two division champion".

When asked to comment on the situation Harry Winston indicated he was just focused on his current fight and no-sold the entire Bosch situation for the moment, but looked physically annoyed by the reminder of his defeat at the hands of the German giving way to online speculation and hype for a potential future bout between the two.

Fight:

Bosch cracks a nice hook into Debble's ribs as Debble returns fire with a stiff jab to his opponent's nose, Bosch looking to land a leg kick but fails to land as Debble counters with another stiff shot, Bosch is looking to clinch but the former champion is having none of it. Both men enter into an exchange in the center with wild strikes from Debble failing to land and precision shots from Bosch picking up well with the judges, Debble continues to set the pace pushing forward looking to land a fatal blow but Bosch remains active connecting with well-placed strikes before weaving out of Debble's optimal range ultimately getting the better of the first round.

Bosch went on to have a solid 10:9 round in both the second and the third round with Debble never really seeming himself the entire fight despite his earlier aggression, Bosch content to keep his victim at bay with lethal leg strikes both to the body and the inside leg while displaying elite levels of striking defense to leave Debble often looking out of place as he wildly struck the air seeking the ever elusive Bosch.

145lbs: Don Gotti vs Michael Kristian

Height: 175 cm Height: 167 cm

Weight: 152 lbs Weight: 153 lbs

Record: 8-4-1 (LWLLD) Record: 11-3-1 (LWWWW)

Pre:

StrikeForce Union legend Michael Kristian made his Aspire debut as the reigning StrikeForce Union 145lbs champion facing off against Aspire MMA 145lbs champion Riff McGee in what was one of the most anticipated bouts in Aspire History, unfortunately for Kristian what was supposed to be his coronation at the top of the food chain was cut short as Riff McGee delivered a KO (Punch) defeat mid-way into the very first round leaving the audience in attendance in awe of what they had seen, determined to shake it off and return to active competition as soon as possible Kristian drove down to the Aspire MMA offices the day following the fight to demand he be booked as soon as possible and was given none other than the Bronx own Don Gotti in response, Gotti known to be dangerous on the ground failed to grasp victory from Takeshi Hashimoto at Just Bleed 36 and just as eager as Kristian to turn his fortunes around wasted no time in accepting the challenge stating that he believed his superior ground technique would be key to victory.

Fight:

As the bell rang Gotti wasted no time in tracking down his opponent and securing a takedown as his very first action in the fight, caught off guard Kristian stayed active underneath looking to improve his position as Gotti looked for a quick submission, Kristian displaying great defensive BJJ was able to maintain wrist control and avoid a series of follow-up strikes frustrating Gotti in the process, Kristian showing excellent defensive grappling here as he manages to reverse his fortunes somewhat and secure full guard,

Shuffling towards the side of the cage Kristian is looking to use the friction to push his way up and return to his feet but Gotti drags him back down and goes to work on heat seeking a submission, Gotti maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Kristian could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Gotti has cracked it and Kristian is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Gotti!

Winner - Don Gotti by way Submission (Kimura) : Fight Rating 25%

155lbs: Heng Jiang vs Billy Bolek

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/6/6w21.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14844302577091.jpg

Height: 174 cm Height: 176 cm

Record: 10-7-0 (WLLLL) Record: 9-5-0 (LWLWW)

Pre:

Making his impressive KO (Punch) Aspire debut victory over Adam Baranowski in the closing seconds of the very first round at Just Bleed 34 it looked like the once heavily touted prospect from Beijing, China was once again rising as Heng Jiang, now 25 years old with 17 professional bouts to his name was finally blooming into the fighters people always hoped he would become. Blessed with the finest training money can buy at the Aspire Academy out of Los Angeles it's clear to see Jiang has made leaps and bounds in his development over the last few months, can he parlay this into a string of successive victories? the pressure is on as his opponent former 155lbs champion Billy "Big" Bolek steps forward to find out following his frustrating majority decision loss to Johnny Vegas at Just Bleed 34.

Fight:

Straight out the gate Jiang rushed forward and forced his opponent into the clinch before delivering a solid knee to the head that left the former champion Billy Bolek cut wide open and looking dazed, a series of knees to the body insured Bolek stayed on the defensive, looking to escape the position Bolek defends a takedown attempt and fires back with a nice shot to the side of Jiang's head, Jiang fires back with a shot of his own before trying again to drag Bolek to the mat but using his veteran knowledge Bolek uses the cage to his advantage to avoid the attempt, a nice head shot from Bolek that is responded too by Jiang firing off a crisp knee to the head really showing his dominance in the clinch today.

Bolek finally manages to create some space and push off from the side of the cage, landing a nice right hand in the process. Jiang looked to stalk his opponent down as he changed levels and rushed in for a successful takedown directly into side control, Bolek is in all kinds of trouble now as Jiang positioned himself for the submission smothering his opponent who by now was slippy covered in his own blood.

Jiang is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Bolek is trying to escape and Jiang transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Bolek is forced to tap! Nice work there by Jiang! Very nice indeed!

Winner - Heng Jiang by way Submission (Armbar) : Fight Rating 54%

170lbs: Brannigan Steele vs Winslow Berhardt

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/23/23w9.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/17/17w3.jpg

Age: 24 Age: 24

Height: 178 cm Height: 175 cm

Weight: 180 lbs Weight: 167 lbs

Record: 6-3-1 (DWWLL) Record: 8-5-3 (DWLWD)

Pre:

As the judges worked on their scorecards following the Just Bleed 37 fight between Brannigan Steele and Winslow Berhardt something did not sit right with the decision to call the fight a draw with many speculating Winslow had done more than enough to secure the fight, to end any doubt Aspire CEO Adam Holland was quick to enter the cage as the decision was announced and take to the microphone to announce to the live audience "We will be seeing this one again folks, and soon."

Fight:

Steele with a nice jab to the head to start things off, Berhardt is quick to respond with a nice head and body combination before pushing the fight into the clinch and landing a big left again to the head but is caught off-balance as Steele secures a trip takedown into half guard, now on the ground Steele uses his position to slip a series of brutal elbows and hammer fists down on Berhardt's face much to the applause of the live audience in attendance. Berhardt looking to improve his position is pressed against the mesh of the cage but is deflecting some of Steele's offensive ability by holding his head tight to his chest, perhaps looking for a submission.

Berhardt is working for an escape here, hooking one of Steele's legs he's managed to sneak out and take Steele's back!, Berhardt returning some of the earlier punishment now landing hammer fists to the side of Steele's head with the referee paying close attention the legality of the strikes Steele is in all kinds of trouble now as he tries to turn into his opponent but Berhardt continues to reign down punishment, as the action continues both men jocky for position with a nice reversal leading Berhardt into an unfavourable position that he quickly used his excellent escape drill technique to elusively slip out and return to his feet. Berhardt now standing seemed to get the better of the striking war lighting Steele up for much of the final minute of the round but as the seconds ticked down Steele once again secured a takedown, ending the round postured up landing strikes as he desired upon Berhardt, a close round to say the least.

Starting things off for the second round Steele's shows excellent footwork to initially avoid a body shot but ducking under a wild hook Berhardt is able to finally find his target delivering a powerful shot to the gut before trying to move in for the clinch but Steele avoided it circling away, failing to secure a takedown Steele is looking somewhat frustrated but commits to a stiff looking jab to the right eye that leaves Berhardt bleeding. An all out war in the center of the cage now as both men tradesignificantt strikes with Berhardt seemingly getting the better of the action as Steele's counter strike policy fails to pay off and Steele is once again forced to deflect Berhardt's attempt to take the fight into the clinch, this tim, however, Steele is able to drive thru picking up Berhardt in the process and slaming him to the mat securing the takedown and once again closing out the round postured upwards reigning down strikes, Berhardt most likely did enough early to secure this one.

Berhardt continued to score well as the third and final round remained standing and Steele looking exhausted did his best to maintain his defensive posture limiting the damage Berhardt was able to do while always looking for the big counter shot that sadly never came, Berhardt picking up the win by unanimous decision as a result.

Winner - Winslow Berhardt by way Unanimous Decision : Fight Rating 66%

185lbs: Holy Angel vs Khunbish Borjigin

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/12/12b3.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14573576063102.jpg

Age: 23 Age: 23

Height: 191 cm Height: 186 cm

Weight: 195 lbs Weight: 194 lbs

Record: 2-2-0 (LWWL-) Record: 5-2-0 (LWWWW)

Pre:

Khubish Borjigin was on a path of destruction picking up five straight victory's before meeting Ajax Aquila Corvus at Just Bleed 34 and finding himself on the wrong end of a decision, ready to return to battle the Mongolian samurii warrior will have to dig deep as he goes to battle with Holy "War" Angel a rugged competitor with a record of 2-2-0 and a proven track record of delivering devestating strikes, with both men coming off a recent decision loss you can be sure they will be leaving nothing to chance in this one.

Fight:

Borjigin lands a really nice looking cross with significant power behind it but Angel barely seemed to register it, following up with a series of strikes Borjigin is able to land most but is unable to stop Angel who pushed forward into the melee to briefly instigate the clinch but was thrown aside as Borjigin connected with a crisp hook before breaking the position and circling back to the center of the mat, an exciting period to start off the bout with the live audience giving it up for the fighters as they begin to exchange shot for shot in the center of the cage.

As the round unfolded Borjigin began to press an agenda of leg strikes aimed at removing Angels mobility and notable KO ability via his powerful kicks, scoring well with the judges Borjigin continued his assault with a string of powerful jabs that kept Angel off-balance as he moved in tight to deliver a monstrous shot to the liver but a wild low kick from Angel has gone astray and lead the judge to call a break in the action while Borjigin recovers from what seems to be a shot to the gentiles.

Recovered and back to the fray Borjigin landed a nice right hand before pressing a nice body kick but Angel was able to slip an incoming jab and make Borjigin pay for the action with a right uppercut to the button that staggered Borjigin in his tracks, forced to take a more defensive stance having been hurt by the powerful strike Angel had delivered it was clear to see Borjigin was going to force the clinch, severely reducing Angel's optimal striking distance, landing well inside the clinch Angels head was snapped backwards by a big right hand as Angel returned fire with a blind hook that connected with the side of Borjigin's head before pushing off and breaking the clinch, Angel showing some impressive striking defense as the round closes out but Borjigin had clearly done enough to pickup the points in the very first round.

Coming out for the second round, Angel with a furious leg strike that seemed like a baseball bat direct to the meat of Borjigin's inside leg before summoning his strength to force his opponent back against the cage and into the clinch, a nice short uppercut connects from Angel as Borjigin continues to stay close frustrating Angel who continues to battle for position trying to create space, another series of strikes lands for Angel before Borjigin decides to escape the position and the fight returns to the center. Angel seem's to be getting the better of the standup war here having really stepped up his game in the second round but seem's ineffective in the clinch with Borjigin always able to out position him removing Angel's dangerous range advantage in the process.

Borjigin's corner shout instructions as the Mongolian menace respond weaving body punches and kicks into the mix before connecting with a big hook to the side of Angels head, feinting a straight left to the body and then turning around with a flashy spinning backfist that connected with Angel's jaw rocking him for all to see, Oh Angel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Both fighters circling slowly here as the pace drops. Hopefully one of them does someth.. OOOHHHH!!!! Borjigin throws an absolute beast of a head kick! Angel is done! He's out cold, twisted and contorted up against the cage! Wow!

I have three guys over here now, all beasts. Rickson Moura, a jiu jitsu champion and submission expert, will be snapping bones in the light heavyweight division. Odin Thorsen has already been here, waiting patiently for the opportunity to separate someone's head from their body in the heavyweight division. And Kami Kazi is a Japanese Muay Thai phenom and a savage all around striker who will soon be terrorizing the middleweight division. I've already got a spot cleared at Savage Empire for three belts. I can't wait to fight you guys!

Breaking reports coming out of the Aspire MMA headquarters in Brentwood Heights, Los Angeles suggest a large private investment has been made resulting in a 49% stock acquisition, an unnamed source within the Hollyweird Studio's suggest the investor behind the purchase is none other than Hollyweird movie producer and former MMA mogul Shiv Redux.

Most famed for his success as the CEO of the former Blitzkrieg Fighting Championships, once the crown jewel of the MMA world, the legendary promotion ceased operating and Shiv found himself following a life long passion for creating movies. Founding the Hollyweird production company shortly thereafter, never quite losing the MMA itch he was keen to bring the sport into the mainstream and having finally hit across what he himself has been quoted as saying "it's the magic formula, we put a famous dude with a none famous dude and we create two famous dudes!" it came as little surprise to anyone when Hollyweird announced a partnership with leading 280k ID organisation Aspire MMA recently but this move would seem to be a signficant commitment that takes that relationship to the next level.

http://www.hollywoodoracle.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/hollyweird-2.png

Hollyweird Studios

Since the original partnership was announced, Hollyweird Studio has produced several movies co-starring Aspire MMA fighters alongside legends of the greater MMA universe bringing the sport into the mainstream to critical acclaim with such hit's as MMA-Comedy, "Here Comes the Doom!!!" starting Legend Jigoro Kane, co-staring 155lbs champion Bonerz McGee and an ensemble cast of some of Hollyweird's most famous movie cross-over comedians such as Billy Murphy, Dave Jalapeno and Hollyweird A-List star Brad Skit.

Following up on the success of the first release Hollyweird Studio's found success with the inspirational fighters tale "Never Back Up" staring 145lbs Rollo Gracie alongside former P4P #1 fighter Helix "Black Heart" Cabrera scoring an Oscar nomination for best sports based film and best movie soundtrack.

With several other blockbusters rumoured to be in the works including "The Beetle King" an ancient Egyptian adventure set to star former 185lbs champion Casper Timmermans and at least three other planned productions, questions have been raised within the MMA community about the impact of outside investment into the promotion from Hollyweird with insiders suggesting production values would increase significantly with signs that the promotion is ready to make the jump to PPV with CEO Adam Holland spotted outside of the the HBO headquarters in New York City following what inside sources quoted as been "intense negotiations" just last week and promotional material leaked from Tokyo, Japan suggesting the companies intentions to run the 42,000 seat Tokyo Bowl for what has been termed a "special show".

http://i1194.photobucket.com/albums/aa369/ZombieDani/Dignity-Fighting-Championship_zpsv1biccev.gif

Perhaps the most shocking revelation is that Aspire MMA has today confirmed it has acquired it's biggest competition Dignity Fighting Championships out of Amsterdam run by CEO Mark Harrington with a roster merger underway with immediate effect, steeped in history and an established credibility within the sport as a great organisation many of the 280K ID's best have called Dignity! home, following Aspire MMA's recent acquisition of Revolution XC some have raised concerns about a developing monopoly with some inside sources suggesting some fighters are unhappy and feel their negotiating position has been delivered a blow by the recent moves.

Talks of a "fighters union" and "fighters compensation" where said to be rife amongst the roster at the first annual Aspire Family BBQ held in Orange County this past weekend organised by the Aspire Wife's Association with top contender Primal Fear 205lbs champion "The Forsaken" Mikael Brophy said to be amongst the most vocal on the matter just week's ahead of his champion vs champion title bout with newly crowned Gerrald James at Just Bleed 44 on the 10th of June 2017.

Friends close to Brophy have let slip that he is far from happy with his current contract situation having demanded Metalica play him down the isle at his next fight with the appearance still yet to be announced by the promotion and a suggestion that a deal to place Brophy in a film with his childhood hero "Fast" Eddie Clark seemingly falling through due to financial issues, tensions continue to rise.

More on this story as it develops.

It is with great pride that I announce to you the purchase and acquisition of the Dignity! fighting championship's based out of Amsterdam, operated by CEO Mark Harrington it has gone from strength to strength establishing itself firmly as one of the premier 280k+ ID organisations in the game and we could not be more excited to bring the talent they have established into the fold as we stand on the precipice of our jump to PPV. I would like to thank Shiv and the staff over at Hollyweird Studio's who continue to fund the expansion of the Aspire Brand into the mainstream and ask all of our fighters to remain vigilant as a number of short-notice cards are likely to spring up following the completion of the already in motion roster influx as a result of the purchase.
In addition we are currently experimenting with running a slow burning "kayfabe" storyline centered around the contractual status of a number of top stars in the light of the Hollyweird Studio's investment into the company and ongoing movie production based around our rosters top talent, this is 100% for entertainment purposes and mainly for the handful of people who might of picked up the nuggets of information slotted into some of the write-ups over the last couple of weeks. It will continue over the summer to it's conclusion, if for any reason anyone would like to opt-out of been written into the storyline that's 100% fine just let me know, otherwise you might just find yourself tied up in the fun at some point.

Coming off a loss to former 170lbs champion Dum Debble via TKO (Strikes) at Just Bleed 35 on the 29th of April 2017 former Revolution XC 185lbs champion Andy Fitzgerald made popular by rampant success during Season 5 of The Island has never shied away from fighting the very best and that's exactly what he's going up against in former Aspire 170lbs champion Ramon Gracie, famed for his legendary submission skills and brutal execution, Gracie is coming off a difficult title loss against co-main eventer Jed Knight following a five round decision war that left Gracie with his second career loss, determined to rebound in quick succession Gracie was all too happy to accept this short notice bout with a message to his fans that he was "On the road back to the gold".
Fight:
Fitzgerald swings with a big left but fails to land as he narrowly avoids a clinch instigation by Gracie who wants to reduce Fitzgerald's significant reach advantage and take this one to the ground early, defending well Fitzgerald continues to circle away but continues to fail to land as a low-kick finds nothing but air, Gracie looking to catch his opponent off-balance attempts a takedown but Fitzgerald continues to defend well.
Gracie checking a nasty looking leg kick as Fitzgerald keep's on the pressure throwing out the jab seeking a destination while trying to keep Gracie at bay but a failed body shot has given Gracie the moment he has waited on as he storms forward forcing the clinch against the side of the cage before successfully pulling guard putting Fitzgerald in a world of trouble, Fitzgerald making the most of his situation postures up and look's for an opportunity to lace his opponent with some well-placed ground and pound but Gracie is seeking to improve his position with a sweep, no wait! Gracie is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Fitzgerald has his hands clasped together but Gracie extends and breaks Fitzgerald's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Gracie.
Following the fight Gracie took to the microphone and had this to say "I work hard each and every time to make sure the fans to be entertained, I think I'm a pretty entertaining guy what do you think?" the live audience cheered in support as Gracie continued "Yeah man that's what I'm talking about, listen I want my title back and then I want to take this entire sport to the next level, I want to show the world that BJJ is the very best base a fighter can have and hell I want a movie if everyone else is getting one, what's up with that Holland?" the cameras turned to CEO Adam Holland in the front row sat next to new signing Dignity 155lbs champion Mitch Miletich who seemed to be pleased by the crowds reaction and nodded in approval. Gracie took to the microphone once more to close with "You going to make that happen? alright, we will see fan's, take care and ill see you all next time folks".

Pre:
Undefeated Jed Knight became the Aspire 170lbs champion following his debut against Ramon Gracie at Just Bleed 38, having previously picked up the Revolution XC championship via TKO (Strikes) against Marty Robbins at Revolution XC 20 this double champion seemed unstoppable having finished the majority of his opponents and never once looking close to defeat during his career Jed "Jedi" Knights stands as one of the absolute best in the ID range having defeated the great Ramon Gracie in a five round war that saw Jed take arguably four of the five rounds comfortably, big things are expected from Jed as merchandise stores at the arena report a significant up-take in Jedi themed apparel at live events since his title victory at Just Bleed 38 and a Star Wars parody film already in the pre-development stages at Hollyweird Studio it's safe to say the company has a significant investment in the ongoing rise of Jed Knight.
Looking to put the breaks to this meteoric rise is Six Musketeers top prospect Alessandro Orsini, having picked up a six-fight win streak since he made the drop to 170lbs back in August of 2016 and a history of exciting finishes to his name Orsini has been touted as one to watch for some time, with no movie on the horizon to take his attentions some have suggested we may be looking at the next Aspire 170lbs champion, only time will tell.
Fight:
Boom, Orsini take's one right to the body as Knight follow's up with a straight right hand that catches the big Italian off guard as Knight continues to press a stinging combination that leaves Orsini trickling blood from his right eye as a result, resetting his feet Orsini manages to get back into the fight avoiding some big strikes from Knight and returning fire with a big right that cracked Knight drawing the applause of the crowd before rushing forward to instigate a clinch.
Working aggressively Orsini pressed his significant strength advantage to control the action as he landed big uppercuts but Knight staying busy delivering a stiff short right hand to the inside keeps Orsini thinking as Knight continues to try and free himself from the underhook control of Orsini, successfully breaking the clinch Knight pushes off and circles away before been hit with a stiff jab as Orsini continues to pile on the pressure chasing down a now back peddling Knight who has received a number of big shots! Ouch, it looks like a stray low kick from Knight has hit Orsini's gentile area and the referee has called time while he recovers.
Back into the action now with Orsini quick to instigate a brief clinch but Knight responds by breaking at the first opportunity and scoring with a lovely left-right counter as Orsini fails to secure a takedown, overall Orsini looked good for the remainder of the round but Knight kept him on his toes landing thunderous leg strikes and body shots that clearly took a toll on Orsini, but it's fair to say Orsini will take the nod from the judges on this one so far.
Out for the second round and Knight is looking significantly more aggressive connecting with a series of strikes that left Orsini digging deep to retaliate with a massive right that stalled Knight's progress momentarily, landing an impressive overhand right the audience cheered Orsini forward as Knight shot back with a stiff jab that found its way between Orsini's defenses. Listening to his corner Orsini delivered a great uppercut followed by another crisp jab before daring out of range. Pressing Knight with a flurry of low kicks that left a nasty thudding sound Knight was forced to go for broke as he darted forward delivering a massive head kick that missed allowing him to slip and fall before quickly scrambling back to his feet to regain his composure, sensing now was the time Orsini loaded up for big counter strike and delivered a straight right on the button that left Knight rocked.
Despite been rocked Knight showed the heart of a champion trading wildly with Orsini with a devestating combination but still lost on his feet acting on instinct alone Knight was unable to avoid a massive overhand right that left him reeling from the blow, Orsini followed up with more punches and Knight is out cold! This one is all over!

Pre:
Mads Nordskov has delivered nothing but greatness since his debut at Just Bleed 26 with an impressive decision victory over main-stay Albert DeSalvo before going on to finish top prospect Yuki Shojo via TKO(Strikes) at Just Bleed 29 and decimate Svensk Triacylglycerol via KO(Punch) at Just Bleed 38, a consistent performer with only one career loss to his name during a five-round war with Takeo Nagasaki via decision at StrikeForce Union 40, it's safe to say Mads Nordskov is likely to achieve big things as he continues to develop, but can he handle the big boys?
Tobias Marshall a grizzled veteran of The Island season 5 at thirty-one years old stands as one of the elder statesmen of the 145lbs division with a wealth of past experience to draw upon and a truly lethal skill set in of itself with world-class level boxing and an exceptional wrestling base following an early second round Submission(Strikes) victory against Aspire MMA legend Tyrone The Crack Head upon his debut at Just Bleed 36, it is clear to see this will be Mads Nordskov's biggest test to date.
Fight:
In what turned out to be a surprising three round decimation Mads Nordskov stood dominate across all three rounds delivering a quality of striking accuracy rare for the division while keeping the action pressed at all times much to the appreciation of the fans in attendance who enjoyed the lively bout as Marshall did his best to keep the young lion at bay but was simply outclassed at every turn leading to a 27:30, 27:30, 27:30 decision for Mads Nordskov who will undoubtedly find his next opponent a significant step up in competition as a result.
Following the fight Tobias Marshall took to the microphone and said "I just wasn't feeling it tonight, I'm sorry I let you all down, the kids just so fast I don't even know what this means now, I need to get back to the gym and watch the tape and figure out how we go from here, damn."

145lbs: Michail Podolski vs Takeshi Hashimoto

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/34/34b8.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/33/33w3.jpg

Age: 23 Age: 24

Height: 168 cm Height: 158 cm

Weight: 148 lbs Weight: 142 lbs

Record: 6-1-0 (WLWWW) Record: 8-3-0 (WWWWL)

Pre:

Long time Aspire MMA roster member Takeshi Hashimoto has been with the promotion since his debut at Just Bleed 3 way back in September of 2016 and has gone on to have a fantastic career spanning eight fights at the organisation, currently on a four fight decision victory win streak following his most recent conquest of Don Gotti at Just Bleed 36, Hashimoto looks set to make a jump to the next level as he takes on 145lbs bad boy "xXx" Michail Podolski. Podolski holding a record of five wins the majority by (T)KO with only a single loss to former BRFC 135lbs champion Misha "The Angel of Death" Collins at Just Bleed 32 via majority decision to his name, considered to be the most lethal striker in the division Podolski looks to climb the mountain once again following his KO(Punch) victory over top contender Carlos Ortega at Just Bleed 37.

Fight:

Podolski lands a nice jab to the midsection and starts chopping away at Hashimoto's legs to start things off, Hashimoto slips a straight right by Podolski as he patiently waits for the counter dipping down and securing a single leg into guard, strangely Hashimoto having successfully taken the fight to the ground stood himself up and allowed Podolski to find his feet before again shooting in and scoring a takedown direct into side-control, Hashimoto with some ground and pound but not much is landing as Podolski defends well looking to improve his position but Hashimoto seem's happy to lay and pray for the most part leading to a referee standup, Podolski closes out the round by stepping up his aggression and pushing forward with a series of beautiful strikes that left Hashimoto in a world of trouble, connecting with a stiff combination that clearly hurt Hashimoto forcing him to put all his weight behind a drive-thru takedown attempt closing out the round with Hashimoto in the dominate position but perhaps not ahead on the judges score cards.

Out for the second Podolski scores with a nice jab an follows up with a stiff inside leg kick but Hashimoto uses the motion to carry forward a nice double leg that left Podolski scrambling unsuccessfully to get back to his feet as Hashimoto quickly established a controlling mount and failing to land a number of elbow strikes before again strangely standing up allowing Podolski to find his feet before once again shooting in for another successful takedown attempt, it's clear Hashimoto has the ability to take this fight to the ground when he desires but lacks the ambition to take advantage of the position once he secures it, the pattern continues for the remainder of the round in what might prove to be a sound strategy as Hashimoto undoubtedly picking up the nod from the judges this time out.

Out for the third and final round as Podolski misses with a body shot as Hashimoto is clearly out of range, closing the distance Hashimoto strikes back with a counter takedown that fails to find it's target as Podolski misses with a badly timed uppercut. Podolski pressing the action catches Hashimoto right on the nose with a solid jab that left Hashimoto clearly rocked. Hashimoto leaves his chin hanging out and Podolski seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Hashimoto crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

145lbs: Balbus Michael vs Lamar Allen

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/13954918807232.png vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32b26.jpg

Age: 26 Age: 24

Height: 178 cm Height: 170 cm

Weight: 150 lbs Weight: 152 lbs

Record: 12-6-0 (WLWWW) Record: 8-1-0 (WWLWW)

Pre:

Lamar Allen made his Aspire MMA debut with a Submission(Triangle Choke) victory over Satoru Takada at Just Bleed 37 earning a submission of the night bonus in the process, having picked up only a single loss in his career to date against current Rebirth 155lbs champion Michael Carter at ICON Fight Night 11 back in February of 2017 and a two fight win streak in his favour following that encounter it's fair to say "The Baller" Lamar Allen has all the tools to be a success at Aspire MMA but his competition tonight is of the highest caliber. Veteran "The Bully" Balbus Michael makes his Aspire Debut having previously represented the OMEGA organisation following his majority decision victory over Ahsan Hamed at OMEGA 33, at 26 years old with a well-rounded high calibre skill set this Oradea native based out of New York is likely to be Lamar Allens toughest test to date.

Fight:

Michael immediately stalks down his opponent and clinches up but Allen looks for a takedown from the position but fails to pull guard as Michael scores with a stiff leg strikes before re-enforcing his desire by pressing Allen deeper into the cage laying all his weight into the action as he aimed to strike Allen's mid-section, Allen defending the incoming strikes well tried again to pull guard but Michael was able to continue to stuff the attempts seriously costing Allen vital energy. Landing a nice left hand that snapped Allen's head backwards before adopting a Thai clinch and attempting a big knee to the head but it failed to land, pressed up against the cage Allen continued to look for ways to pull guard before finally succeeding following a failed uppercut by Michael.

Securing the fight to the ground Allen immediately looked to isolate an arm for a kimura but Michael defended well, not deterred Allen continued to seek out his submission while trying to improve his position but the referee was forced to war both fighters not to hold onto the side of the cage as Michael continued to control the action preventing Allen from sweeping and pushing down on Allen's thigh successfully passing into half guard. Allen defending well prevents Michael from passing the guard but eventually, Michael decided to step up his aggressiveness and look for a submission finish of his own, Allen is looking to regain full guard. He's left an arm up in the air though and Michael has latched onto it... Big trouble! Michael pivots for an armbar - it's in tight and it Allen is tapping in no time flat! Great counter grappling there from Michael!

Winner - Balbus Michael by way Submission (Armbar) : Fight Rating 28%

265lbs: Umberto Reem vs Bubba Dee

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32b14.jpg vs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14528219849906.png

Age: 24 Age: 24

Height: 194 cm Height: 197 cm

Weight: 241 lbs Weight: 270 lbs

Record: 10-5-1 (WLWLW) Record: 9-4-0 (WLLWL)

Pre:

At just twenty-four years old with seventeen profeshional bouts to his name Umberto "Uber Dream" Reem is lightyears ahead of his contemparys when it comes to raw experiance, with the classic solid wrestling base and world-class striking ability Reem is known for his ability to win by devesting (T)KO given the oppertunity and will be looking to make an instant impact against Aspire MMA mainstay Bubba Dee. Dee having been with Aspire MMA since December of 2016 has had a mixed career with three decision losses and two (T)KO victorys to his name finding his most recent success against Theodore Thundercunt at Just Bleed 38 securing a KO (Punch) victory and the KO of the night bonus.

Fight:

Dee looking strong in the early goings as he moved in landing wild body shots that put Reem on the backfoot, following a brief clinch the fighters exchanged blows with Dee getting the better of the early standup landing three stiff shots to close the encounter that seemed to really hurt Reem with Dee pushing his opponent directly into the cage repeatedly before landing a couple of shots and again moving out of range staying very active and setting a high pace of action in the first round, looking extremely good Dee continues to pressure his opponent who seem's to be swinging all too wildly and failing to hit the majority of his strikes. A solid jab to the face has left Bubba Dee with a wide gash across the side of his mouth with blood now pouring out, the referee is taking a real good look at that and may consider stopping the fight but Dee insists on continuing despite clearly been in pain as both fighters continue to exchange in and outside the clinch with Reem making it a point now to use his body to smear blood from the cut across Dee's face with every blow. Snapping Dee's head backwards with a series of shots that left the audience on its feet it looks like Reem is back in this fight as the round comes to a close and Dee's corner leap to treat his cuts.

Rushing out for the second Dee is trying to show no pain or fear as he fails to land a combination of strikes that are largely blocked by Reem, countering with a powerful looking uppercut that stalled Dee it looks like Reem is definitely getting the better of the standup now, picking his shots against a clearly disoriented Bubba Dee as shot after shot lands in the cut area bursting blood out across Reem's chest as he continues to open the wound with big shots, the fans in attendance are giving it up as Reem lands a stiff jab that has Dee clearly rocked but Reem fails to capitalise as Dee rides out a clinch to survive the round.

More of the same for the third round as Dee valiantly fights on while the damage is clearly done and Reem continuing to pick his moments inflicts the maximum amount of damage possible forcing the referee to call a stop to the action as Bubba Dee's cut is absolutely horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters. The referee calls the doctor in to look at Bubba Dee's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Winner - Umberto Reem by way TKO(Cut) : Fight Rating 63%

Weight: 168 lbs Weight: 168 lbs

Record: 7-5-0 (WWWLW) Record: 6-1-0 (WLWWW)

Pre:

Steaphan Beattie is on a three-fight win streak picking up a decision victory over Satoru Takada at Primal 60 Nclear before debuting at Just Bleed 33 picking up a KO(Punch) win over Kid Cudi and a stunning victory over Joe Baily at Just Bleed 37 via KO(Superman Punch) that stands out as one of the best finishes on what was an impressive night of MMA, his opponent experienced well-rounded striker Alexander Nevsky is Moscow's finest fighting out of the Russian Top Team Elite and coming off the back of an exciting TKO(Strike) victory over Elijah David at Just Bleed 29, this one's set to be a war with both men determined to rise to the top of the 155lbs rankings.

Fight:

Beattie stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes before lunging in with an uppercut that landed flush but Nevsky shoots back instantly with a nasty sounding low kick that hit Beattie directly in the genitals instigating a five-minute recovery period and a severe warning from the referee for Nevsky. Back underway Nevsky takes a solid right to the chin as he closes the distance and finds himself hit with another jab as Beattie circles away, moving back in to instigate a clinch Beattie takes a big uppercut from Nevsky but still manages to secure the position with Nevsky immediately looking to land some big knees but failing to land on target as Beattie looks to land some stiff body shots while controlling the position. Fairly even in the clinch, as both fighters continue to trade blow for blow with Beattie a slight edge drawing out the round to a close.

Out for the second Nevsky faked a couple low kicks before connecting with the third, Beattie with a nice jab as he avoids Nevsky's attempt to take the fight into the clinch but fails to pull the trigger on a big counter that looked like it had potential, Nevsky picking up solid points with the judges scoring numerous significant strikes throughout the round but the real action picked up towards the end of the second minute when Beattie missing a body shot took a nice crisp hook to the side of his head and prompted Beattie to dig deep and launch a massive uppercut that left Nevsky rocked and Beatie holding the dominant position in the clinch, despite the big shot, recovering his senses in record speed Nevsky seemed to get the better of the trade in the clinch finishing the round with a big right to the body of Beattie and despite been rocked picking up the nod from the judges.

Out for the third and final round Beattie made no mistake about it, he wants to clinch and finish this fight but Nevsky defends well as Beattie continues to apply pressure eventually securing the clinch and going to town with with short sharp shots that sent Nevsky's head snapping backwards, focusing his shots to the head trying to secure a finish but Nevsky gutted out the round looking for a big counter that never seemed to come closing things out by Unanimous decision for Steaphan Beattie in a very competitive bout.

Weight: 193 lbs Weight: 195 lbs

Record: 8-3-0 (WWWLL) Record: 3-1-0 (WWLW-)

Pre:

Kiovani Aro is on a three-fight win streak following his debut at Aspire MMA with an impressive decision victory over former champion Aksel Stenger at Just Bleed 27, a solid TKO(Strikes) victory Kimbo Spice at Just Bleed 32 and a unanimous decision victory over Ronnie Rolla at Just Bleed 37, his opponent tonight is John "The Hangman" Ruth fighting out of the LOD Gym of Gods in Las Vegas holding two straight victories via finish and deadly BJJ background having recently acquired his black-belt to compliment his already solid ground game.

Fight:

Kiovani confidently sailed to victory following a three-round decimation of John Ruth that left state athletic commissions lobbying questions with Aspire MMA regarding the health checks put in place for competitive fighters with insiders suggesting Ruth was in no fit state to be competing at all tonight, his camp is staying very quiet on the matter with Aspire CEO Adam Holland quoted as saying "We check these guys in for the weight in's and after that we have no say in what they do, some of these guys they do things to revitalise after the draining process of making weight that I really don't agree with it, it hurts their performance and its determinantal to their health, we will be looking into this, its going to be fixed don't you worry".

When asked about John "The Hangman" Ruth's future at 185lbs the CEO had this to say "Listen the kids 23, he or his team made a mistake today and it costs him, he wasn't able to fight the way we have all seen him fight in the past and he got dominated as a result, Kiovani Aro is a top level competitor and he isn't messing about in their, Ruth picked up two great victories at 185lbs against Harry Duncan and Ralph Machio and I'm sure he will be great again in the future but we need to go back and look at this fight and find out what went wrong, it's like he had no aggression at all".

Pre:

Albert DeSalvo has done it all, debuting with a stunning Submission(Kimura) victory over Santa Blaze at Just Bleed 1 and going on to secure the 145lbs title from Vassily Solomin using his trademark Kimura finish its fair to say DeSalvo is one of the main contributing factors to the early success of the promotion but has found himself having mixed success in recent times picking up back-to-back decision loss's against Mads Nordskov and Hoss Moody before securing his first submission victory since January 2017 finishing Maurice Smith with a deadly Submission(Arm Triangle) at Just Bleed 36, his opponent Satoru "Satorumaru" Takada is an explosive striker known for his impressive pace and conditioning that will look to put his Submission(Triangle Choke) loss to Lamar Allen at Just Bleed 37 firmly behind him as he looks to get back on a path to success.

Fight:

In a fight that proved unpopular with fan's as Satoru Takada comfortably dominated all three rounds against a long time Aspire MMA veteran Albert DeSalvo with little in the way of exciting action as both men played a deeply cautious strategy resulting in the distinctive displeasure of the audience who when polled on site by Aspire Magazine rated this bout the worst in recent memory.

145lbs: Tyrone The Crack Head vs Svensk Triacylglycerol

Height: 150 cm Height: 150 cm

Weight: 140 lbs Weight: 142 lbs

Record: 12-8-0 (LLWLW) Record: 4-2-0 (LWLWW)

Pre:

Legendary Tyrone The Crack Head was part of the movement that first attracted fans to the Just Bleed events during the founding day's of the promotion with his hysterical youtube video's promoting the fighters in a mockumentary style format, since then he has gone on to become of the promotions most trusted warriors always ready to fight "the next big thing" as a true gate-keeper of the 145lbs division, his opponent Svensk Triacylglycerol finds himself in a must-win scenario following his recent loss to Mads Nordskov via KO(Punch) at Just Bleed 38 and his contract set to expire following the bout with The Crack head, does he stay? does he go? let's find out.

Fight:

Working from the outside Triacylglycerol looked to land a number of big shots to TTCH but failed to land as TTCH uses his unusually long legs to strike at will against the meat of Triacylglycerol's right leg, faking with a right and throwing stiff kicks to the right thigh of Triacylglycerol before forcing the fight into the clinch it's fair to say this quickly became a one-sided affair with TTCH dominating with vicious knees and smothering his opponent who gasped for air at every opportunity, TTCH dominating the round despite Triacylglycerol's last-ditch takedown succeeding to close things out.

The second round followed much the same as the first with TTCH getting the best of the standup with flashes of brilliance from Triacylglycerol who seemed out of sorts for the majority of the round but managed to muster up a series of nice counters that kept TTCH thinking, but perhaps Triacylglycerol insistence on trying to drag the fight to the ground much to the expense of vital energy was his main tactical goof as TTCH continued to pick apart Triacylglycerol's final reserves allowing him to land a massive counter head kick that dropped Triacylglycerol to the mat leaving him rocked in the process before scrambling back to his feet and receiving yet another head kick by The Crack Head - that's a beauty! Triacylglycerol is out but he's somehow still standing... he's going... going... gone. Like a drunk walking down the middle of the road, the inevitable face plant follows and the delayed knockout arrives. Even The Crack Head can't help but laugh at the bizarre end to this one!

Winner - Tyrone The Crack Head by way KO(Head Kick) : Fight Rating 60%

Betting: Aspire Casino

Thoughts from the CEO:

Firstly I would like to apologise to all the managers who had fighters on this card, I have made it my goal to never fail to review an event, I do the preparation work for these events ahead of time and as such all the storyline elements and pre-fight banter is ready to go usually by the mid-week, I sit down to write the rest of the card usually about 1 am post-show GMT and as I did this week the horrific attack on London following the Manchester attack took place and I honestly found myself up until 4 am following the breaking news in a state of shock.

These, specifically the ones in London are locations I frequent, events such as the one in Manchester are similar to events my family have attended recently and it's brings the reality of the situation very close to home as we wake up today to find out friends of friends, family members of friends and good people of our nation and others of every creed and domination are amongst the victims and I have found it impossible to focus on finishing the task ahead of me, I'm sat watching the Manchester benefit concert on my second screen as I write this knowing that the best way to show terrorists of any kind they cannot break us is to continue as normal but alas I must apologise, I'm unable to complete the review this week.

If I spoke to you today and was a little uncertain in my reply, if I was short with you at all, I apologise sincerely and deeply. With that said, in a desire to not have this event go un-documented in its entirety I offer you the work as it stands and hopes you can forgive me for failing to deliver this one time.

I would also like to take a moment to thank all of the people who have created 25-year-old fighters for our fledgling Aspire Island organisation operating out of The Island this season, we hope to bring you the same great experience you have come to know here at Aspire MMA with our team lead by JB90 and Jack Hendry of the Aspire Alliance heading up the project, you may also notice we have opened up the Aspire Academy CT training facility on The Island and we encourage you to join us as we look to expand its capability to ensure you have the very best training to make a success of the season.

"Mikael"

Part 1 of a 5 part special documentary

Mikael has always been a strange individual. Stories of his upbringing have been varied, with some claiming his face is actually a mask made out of another person’s face, while others claim he was inspired by now infamous managers. The truth is that Mikael was simply a normal child (Or was he?), but his actions inside of an MMA cage bring intrigue to his very character.

Entering TUF

We begin this documentary with Mikael already being a touted prospect in the MMA world, with his record currently standing at 6-0. He is scheduled to compete in the upcoming TUF tournament, where he is an upper favourite for the tournament. 3 KO’s, 2 Submissions and 1 Decision show him to be a diverse fighter, but his sparring partners in the gym claim he has devastating power, and his killer instinct is such that sometimes he doesn’t understand when to stop in the sparring sessions.

We enter the arena where the official drafts for the TUF tournament will be taking place. Mikael enters the building alongside his manager Grant Brophy and his training partner Dog The Multi Hunter, who is competing in the 155lbs section of the tournament. They take their appropriate places, while tournament organiser The C Bomb stands at the podium with the two coaches, Mr Wolf and Marky Mark occupying seats on either side.

Mr Wolf is the first coach to pick from the drafting pool, as he selects Isaac Rainbow Killer, an alliance mate of Mikael while they all applaud as Isaac takes the red shirt signifying Team Wolf. Marky Mark follows up by choosing David Yung, a popular move with Yung’s manager Joe Lang being a well-respected manager in the MMA scene.

Mr Wolf makes his way to the podium to announce his first selection from the 205lbs division. The whole audience is waiting in suspense, with a number of names available to pick from. Wolf approaches the microphone and says “Team Wolf’s number one pick from the Light Heavyweight section is…...Mikael Brophy!”

Mikael stands up to applause from the audience, departs his seating and stands on the stage, holding his shirt up knowing he is viewed upon as the man to beat of the division.

We rejoin Mikael the next day as they are due to find out the first matchup of the tournament. I asked him what his thoughts were and he claimed he wanted to be first up so he could get his win out of the way and focus on training.

First Challenge

We make our way back into the arena, but this time Mikael and Dog are up on the stage as I stay with his management team. Marky Mark is introduced back onto the stage, as he prepares to make the announcement everyone has been waiting on…

Marky Mark: The time has come to announce the first fight. Our coaching staff have been analysing the fighters diligently and we have now come up with a solution to get the party started. We’ll be starting with the Light Heavyweights…

An audible noise comes from the audience with excitement about the potential matchups.

MM: Representing Team Marky will be the man who has talent in areas other people don't even have areas, the one and only Akoni Gray!

Gray makes his way to the photography section, and he stands awaiting his opponent

MM: And his opponent from Team Wolf to be mauled will be….their #1 pick Mikael Brophy!

Mikael stands up and calmly approaches Gray on the stage. While not showing any emotion, both men had an aura of confidence about them, with neither giving an inch to their opponent.

When it came time for the fight, Gray was slow out of the blocks, while Mikael was out to dominate early. While he rocked Gray in the second round, he was unable to put him down for good, but coasted to a Unanimous Decision victory.

The Long Awaited Brawl

Next up in his way was Anthony Castillo, who had just defeated Shawn McLean to qualify for the finals. There was a lot of bad blood between the two, with Mikael previously labelling Castillo as “Over-sparred and Over-rated”. Castillo meanwhile was not one to keep quiet as he lambasted Mikael throughout the season. On the lead up to the fight, both men admitted a mutual respect for each other, but reaffirmed their assessments that they were the best fighter in the tournament.

Come fight time, it was a one sided affair. Castillo opened up a cut on Mikael early, before trying to tie him up in the clinch for some time. Mikael broke the clinch each time shortly after it was instigated, and it was from range he really dealt the damage. He was combining his head punches with both punches and kicks to the body in order to wear down the heavier Castillo, and it was a body kick that gassed Castillo, leaving him as a sitting duck. Shortly afterwards, he was rocked by an uppercut, before being put down mercifully with a KO that put Castillo to sleep instantly.

The Silver Lining in Defeat

Moving on to the finals, Mikael would face Alejandro Scott, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt who also had an aptitude for Boxing. There wasn’t much build up to the fight, with both fighters dedicating their time almost exclusively to the gym.

The first round of the fight went much like the rest of the tournament had, with Mikael dominating the striking exchanges while Scott was struggling. Mikael went back to his corner visibly fresher than Scott was. The beginning of the second round was much the same, before Scott switched game plan and instigated the clinch. While he got hit a couple of times by Mikael, he would pull guard, looking to use is Black Belt to effect against Mikael’s Purple Belt. He would manage to escape and take Mikael’s back, and from there was able to lock in the Rear Naked Choke for the victory. Mikael had suffered his first loss as a fighter, but he took comfort in the fact he was still the most dangerous striker in the 280k range for Light Heavyweights around.

We caught up with Mikael following the fight and asked him what his plans were now. All he replied with was….

I’ll be back soon

Before leaving the arena……

“Mikael”

Part 2 of a 5 part special

We resume the documentary where Mikael has just come back from a training trip in Thailand, and we are waiting to greet him at the airport.

This is the first time you see our documentarist, world-renowned Eugene Jarecki, on the camera as he goes has a sit down with Mikael for the first time. All following entries will be written from his first person perspective.

http://i.imgur.com/9OplIDv.jpg

EJ: So Mikael, last time I saw you was at the end of the TUF tournament, which didn’t end how you had hoped, but you were upbeat about the future. Can you tell us what you have done since that night?

MB: It was a tough loss, especially considering many people were hoping on me to win the bout, but you can’t allow losses to hold you back in your career. If I had spent the time being mad and annoyed about it, I would simply be letting time pass me by that I could use on something productive. The next morning after the fight, I immediately flew out to Thailand. I could have gone to my gym and worked on my regular routine, but I wanted to really add to my skillset so I went and trained with some of the best Thai fighters in the world, and I will freely admit I got my ass kicked out there. But I can say now that I am already a lot better than I was on the night of the TUF finale. It was literally a routine of eating, training and sleeping over there and that’s the mentality I needed to get myself back into the winning mentality.

EJ: You mentioned on the phone before coming back that you were initially planning on an extended break out there but had to come back due to contract offers from various organisations that wished to sign you. What do you know about that right now?

MB: I don’t know the specifics. I actually wanted my manager to look through the contracts and sign whichever one he thought was best for me but he insisted I have an input into it. There were a few orgs that seemed interesting and he was gonna let me stay out there but apparently there is an offer that I need to be there to discuss.

EJ: I think we can safely assume whichever org you sign with, the title is the immediate focus?

MB: You can be damn sure of that hah. Anyway, the boss man will be expecting us back soon so we better head.

A Welcome Return

We arrive at a gym known as Scorpion MMA located in London. During the journey to the gym I discussed many things with him, including details about his childhood and upbringing. He asked all the info I learn be kept confidential, but I can say there is a lot more to the man than meets the eye.

We arrive in the facility to see numerous fighters at work in the gym, a mixture of fighters from Grant Brophy’s and Caleb Smith’s management. I am asked to remain outside while they discuss their business, but I take in the detail of the gym which appears to be a very high standard. A short time later, I notice both Grant and Mikael smiling broadly in the office as Grant gets off the phone. They exit the office and inform me that we will be moving again.

Another trip to the airport, and they inform me that they have mine, as well as the rest of the documentary team’s, tickets for the flight….To New York.

Due to the fact we were informed we would not be maintaining much sleep during our adventures, I tactically took the time on the flight to sleep as much as I could.

When I woke up, it was 5:30pm New York time, and we are 10 minutes away from landing. We are rushed through security as it seems they were informed of our impending arrival. Straight into a limo and off we go again. We pull up to the Hard Knocks arena and then it dawned on me why we are here.

Primal 43 is taking place in the arena, and in fact is due to finish any minute now. We enter the arena, the main event just finishing up which saw Pierre St. Georges defeat Rocket Bob Frankels. St. Georges had just finished up his post-fight interview….yet nobody was moving from the arena. Primal CEO Peel Steel (Now known as Marcus Crassus) stood in the centre of the cage, and took to the microphone to address his audience.

PS: Good evening ladies and gentlemen, wherever you may be in the audience. After a great night of action, I am delighted to make one final announcement to end the night.

At this point, Mikael, wearing a hooded top and mask that covered his face, started walking towards the cage, and we followed instantly.

PS: Following some speculation on whether Primal could sign any new names to the organisation, I am officially delighted to be able to welcome to you all, the newest addition to the Primal roster, and the return of a face you will all be familiar with.

Mikael enters the cage, takes off the mask and removes his hooded top to greet the audience. An eruption of excitement breaks through the crowd as Mikael shakes hands with Peel. The contract of employment is brought forward, and Mikael promptly signs it. For another night, Mikael is the star of the show.

A Dominant Return

Fast forward now, and we are cageside at the Credit Card Centre in New York City, waiting Mikael’s return to the Primal cage. Due to his preparation for the fight, Mikael said he did not wish to be distracted, and asked that we not maintain the intense focus of his day to day routine. We were allowed brief glimpses and discussions with him and his team, but we respect his privacy and dedication to training.

Across from him was his opponent, Ryosuke Sato, a former Primal champion who was undergoing his first fight under new management. While he would have been hoping for more success under new management, it was not to be. Mikael battered him with strikes, before knocking him down and rocking him with a thunderous head kick. He got up, and in his dazed state attempted to move directly towards Mikael, who promptly ended the fight with a perfectly timed right hook. Mikael was back, and looking more dangerous than ever.

An important note for later is that 3 other Light Heavyweight bouts were on the same card, with victories for Sumbu Kalambayo, a man Mikael previously defeated, Malcolm Merlin, and Bua Khao (Now known as Rauta Kansleri) who defeated Silva Zoldyck (an alliance mate of Mikael’s) to become the new champion.

The Rematch

Mikael was booked for another fight a short time later, this one being a rematch against Sumbu Kalambayo, with Malcolm Merlin taking on Bua Khao for the title on the same card. Their first fight ended with Mikael scoring a KO 44 seconds into the 2nd round, a win that extended the brief rivalry between Grant Brophy’s roster and Rocco Mediate which had been brewing over a few fights.

We are cageside again once more for the bout, and despite getting Cut open in the first round, Mikael dominated the fight once more, scoring with his strikes to score easily for the first round. He came out noting that Sumbu was tiring, and went to work on getting the finish. A jab finds its way through and you can see Sumbu on wobbly legs now. He throws a right hand out of desperation, but Mikael avoids it and he returns himself with a hook that drops Sumbu, and he dives into side control to continue throwing strikes before the referee pulls him away, scoring him another (T)KO in his career. He called for the title after the bout while mentioning his thanks to his fans, and the crowd responded accordingly considering the entertainment he was giving them with each fight. He had a seat reserved next to us for the sole purpose of watching the title bout between Khao and Merlin. Following the bout, which saw Merlin become the new champion following a hard fought battle, Mikael mentioned to me how Merlin looked really tough out there and that he was looking forward to testing his chin himself.

The Championship Challenge

Following the event, it was made official by Primal Management. On the 25th January 2017, Merlin vs Brophy was for the championship.

Due to the overwhelming scheduling of training and media appearances, we didn’t talk to Mikael until the night of the fight, but we did record a public meeting he had with legendary band Metallica, who granted him their blessing to use their music for his walkout song. Mikael mentioned how similar lead James Hetfield from the band had to his manager’s good friend John Hetfield, along with their similar last names.

We were in our usual spot cage side, this time in the Liberty Dome. The lights went out, and Metallica’s I Disappear came on the sound system and the arena went crazy. Mikael walked down to the cage, and as he stepped in with all of the lights on him, he looked like a genuine star. As his opponent Merlin made his entrance, there was wild cheers for him also. An unusual experience, with Mikael usually being the fan favourite but Merlin negating that edge himself.

That wouldn’t matter however, with Mikael dominating Merlin in the opening round. In what seems to be a must have experience for a Mikael fight, he was cut open in the opening round, but managed to open up a cut on Merlin himself. He clearly won the opening round, but Merlin didn’t look tired anymore than Mikael did himself. The second round began, and Merlin landed a punch, but failed with a body kick which saw Mikael counter with a right hand to the head. He followed up with another punch which rocked Merlin. He landed another right hand which saw Merlin stumble to the ground. Mikael followed up with more punishment which again forced the referee to stop the bout, as Mikael become the new Primal Light Heavyweight champion.

It was a long time coming for Mikael, and arguably could have happened already had he not entered TUF, but the wait made the occasion all the more sweeter. When asked post fight who he wished to defend the title against next, Mikael called out Bua Khao, the only man who won on the night he redebuted that he had yet to defeat. It was set for the 3rd March, and Mikael returned to training.

A Farewell Performance

There was controversy in the build up to the bout, with Khao parting ways with his manager Agent Dee, and signed with the then #1 ranked manager David Brent. Concerns over their strategy for the bout arose from the Brophy camp, with them not knowing what to expect from new management. The day of the fight arose however, and those concerns were erased. A close couple of rounds opened the bout, with both fighters feeling each other out. Near the end of the 3rd round however, and Mikael rocked Khao, now known as Rauta Kansleri, with a right hand which also knocked him down. Another overhand right, and Khao was out. The referee stopped the fight, and Mikael had defended his title once more.

Following the bout, Primal announced it was closing, and Mikael told us he would be considering his options before committing elsewhere.
