SyFi Weekend Preview

Welcome to another hopefully exciting and action packed with 3 title fights highlighting the Weekend Cards, so let's start of with those:

155 Xavier Merlin vs. Jorghino Marcelo

It is the first title defense for Xavier Merlin, who won the vacant title via Submission vs. Evan Page. Merlin is a submission artist, that has improved a lot since joining Sydney Fights, all 3 of his last fights were 1st Round Sub Wins, but brown belt Marcelo should be a tough test, he has 5 wins in a row, all by (guess it) 1st Round submissions, he avenged a early career loss, when beating Bob Madden in the Qualifier. On paper perhaps Merlin should look to use his stand up skill, but with these two ground specialists also being good wrestlers and their takedown skills, I don't see this fight in the stand up, both will have to show their best on the ground, and then we'll see.

205 Mister McNasty vs. Melvin Comeau

McNasty is one of those long time champs, that hardly show any weaknesses, however making his 5th defense he faces a fighter, that gave him lots of trouble, entering the 5th round Comeau, likely ahead on points looked like a squashed mouse with blood all over him, and well, during that 5th round the ref listened to the doctors and Comeau was facing a loss by a cut. Mc Nasty winning all other SyFi fights by TKO and KO by Strikes or Punches perhaps escaped one that night, and now the two will meet again, tactics adjusted, both with a convincing win afterwards, we are set for a tough challenge. Comeau, who beat Carnera by KO after only a bit of 2 rounds, is ready to take the title, can he?

185 Wayne Benning vs. Joey Hatton

This is a due to some regulations shortened title fight, whatever the SyFi officials did, both fighters agreed and the title is on the line in a 3 rounder. Benning , making his first defense is off to the races, after he win the 185 belt in his 2nd attempt from long time champ Big Asznee, Benning TKOed him in Round 2 of their 2nd fight, after being submitted in his first try. 3 wins later he got his 2nd shot and did far better. Now he faces Joey Hatton, a well rounded fighter with bad ass ground skills and used to long time fights. Hatton lost to Asznee in his first shot at the title by Decision in a close fight, he is 3-1 at SyFi and has beaten Ciro di Marzio to get another shot at the belt. While a ground fighter by design, his Boxing isn't bad either, so the chances are there, if he can stand with Benning and take him to the ground to get his game going.

The other Big Fights of the Weekend:

Fridays Main and Co-main Event:

Fridays Card is highlighted by 205 battles of rather young faces at SFC, Pablo Spezziale entering his 4th SFC fight faces Ivan Dmitrievich, entering his 3rd SFC fight, Spezziale after beating Lars Hard and Blake Phoenix faced Champion McNasty in his last fight, he will look to rebound from the loss on Friday. Dmitrievich rocked SyFi with Big KO of Unknown Combatant and Kurt Wagner, he looks destined to continue this performances and KO Spezziale.

In the Co Main Event Heimo Vesa makes his SFC debut, but the 6-1 veteran fought succeful at EFA before, Hector Hegoma joined SFC shortly, but his debut against Dai Zexi was not succesful, as he was submitted, the MuayTHai Specialist will look to rebound here, as many saw him as a new force at 205.

The Main Card has fierce 265 battles with former title challengers Bill Shorton facing Mark Borrego, a fighter he Koed earlier in his career, while Gykoshu Fujimoto faces unbeaten Isaac Arthur, who at 7-0 likely faces the toughest test in his career, as Fujimoto has an unimpressive 5-3 record, but with losses against top Ranked Piano, Kona and Barkley.

The rest of the card is filled with 265+ fights highlighted by Super Talent Bwana Mkubwa, who is on a 4 fight win streak, and may soon challenge for the title.

Saturdays card has an interesting Co-Main Event former Champ and just recently dethroned Big Asznee faces Ciro di Marzio, recently beaten by Joey Hatton, the veterans will look to rebound in a chance to make another run at the title.

The Main card sees Ross Warring and Edgar Avestiyan in a battle at 170, Warring had a succesful debut at SyFi, beating Grigorian, a countryman of Arvestiyan. Arvestiyan still unbeaten fought Julmu to a draw, and took a lengthy training break afterwards, so should be fresh and full of energy now.

Bann Harrow one of the hottest talents at 205 faces Ferguson jr, and on his 4 fight win streak a high favourite.

Watch out for 3-0 Santos and 2-0 Bull Mfer, as these talents will perhaps be some of the hottest fighters at SyFi, and may make a march to the top in their respective classes.

Sunday:

Being highlighted by the 2 title fights, we jump straight to the Main Card on Sunday, and there we have 2 145 fights. Akimbo Spice will face Kento Gban Bus in a strange ready to retire fight, after his loss to Sitsongrit in early June, Spice was ready to retire, but, after beating Fiyero Lermontov in an upset, SyFi officials convinced him to do one more, making a weight cut, and facing someone who recently beat a stablemate of Akimbo. Gbus beat Valdez by TKO in his recent fight, while Valdez stepped down to 135, Gbus got Spice in a revenge fight, let's see, what happens, if Spice wins, he could make a 145 title run based on his recent training camp.

Gbus and Spice, to top that off, faced each other at SyFi 4, when Spice won a Decision in his debut as Petchuang Sitsongrit, so guys, is this drama?

Logan Lord faces John Mills, Mills at 4-2 fresh of EFL, Lord has already one loss at SyFi, to the russian guy with the strange name, well, both fighters will look to get a run going from here.

The undercard sees some veteran faces ready to get it going.

So folks tune in this Weekend for SyFi fighting, as we will be blasting all over Sydney. Go shop at Forge Clothing in Montreal, and look at prime training in Sydney with Dohertys Gym and Combat Team being ready to welcome SFC fighters.

[6–2–1]

"I would like to say thank you to Kento Ban Gbus for another hard fought three rounder, the man is a true warrior. With this draw, I'm officially announcing my retirement from fighting. I'd like to thank my management, my camp Castlemore and my fans for believing in me even through turbulent times. As for what's next for Akimbo, I'll take a week off to go back home in Freeport, Bahamas and after that a new start as the assistant striking coach in Castlemore."

SyFi – Weekend Recap

Well perhaps we have come to the end of one of the most exciting weekends in SyFi history, that may have opened up many storylines to come, 3 title changes and lots of surprise ending highlighted the week, but let's go step by step.

Friday:

Pablo Spezziale gave us a highlight KO, the former title challenger, rebounded nicely from his title loss to Mister Mc Nasty, facing Ivan Dmitrievich, on a 2 fight win streak since joining SFC, he wasted no time. Opening the bout, both fighters seemed clear happy with a standup battle, but when Dmitrievich got cut quickly, Spezziale upped the pace, he rocked the Russian, and a few seconds later it was all over. Spezziale in the mean time signed a new SFC contract, and is likely set for another title run.

In the Co-Main Event Heimo Vesa, a veteran EFA fighter, made his SyFi debut a good one. He sent home Hector Hagoma with a flurry of punches and a TKO win. Hagoma now lost both his SysFi fights, and as we heard changed his management. Vesa has made it clear, that he is a force to reckon with, and a great signing by SyFi Management.

The Main Card, also saw wins by SFC corner figures at 265, Bill Shorton rebounded nicely from his title fight loss, by a TKO win over Mark Borrego. While Gyokusho Fujimoto faced unbeaten Isaac Arthur, and fought bravely and dominant for a Decision win, as Arthur was beaten for the first time.

Jeff Messer suprisingly won a rematch with Bwana Mkubwa, while DeAngelo Montogomery got a SFC debut win at 265+.

Fight of the night: Gyukosho Fujimoto vs Isaac Arthur

KO of the night: Petr Antonovich

Sub of the night: no Sub win

Saturday:

Once again the 155 title was a prize not to be defended. Xavier Merlin in his first title defense, after winning the vacant title against Evan Page, Merlin stepped into the cage with Jorghino Marcelo, a dangerous Brazilian BJJ artist. It was obvious the fight had to0 end up on the ground, as both man have their strengths their. While Merlin fought a nice first round, in which he threatend the Brazilian, Round 2 was all Marcelos a quick takedown followed by a round of sub attempts took it's toll, and attempt No. 4 a deep Kimura did the job. Marcelo won the title, let's see, if he'll be able to defend the hottest potatoe in SFC.

The CO Main Event saw 2 top contenders at 185, Big Asznee recently loosing his belt to Benning facing Di Marzio, recently beaten by Hatton, 2 fighters, facing off for the tiltle on Sunday. Well, on Saturday, di Marzio was perhaps not the better fighter for most of the fight, but there, when it counted,. Asznee, who took the fight to the ground, dominated 2 rounds , but couldn't apply the deadly submission we used to see from him. Di Marzio took advanatege of that, and stormed out for Round 3, landing a TKO win over the former champ.

The Main Card had wins for Ross Warring at 170, and Bann Harrow at 205, both fighters looked commanding, and got 2nd Round TKO wins.

Other action saw highly talented 205 fighter Bull Mfer stay unbeaten, and 265 talent Billy Two by Two make an impressive debut.

Fight of the night: Fiyero Lermontov vs Arnar Agnarsson

KO of the night: Barry Crocker

Sub of the night: Jackie Duncan

Sunday:

With two title fights on the menu, everyone expected a SyFi card with two succesful defenses, both champs came in as odds-on favourites, and presented their belts with Prime.

But it came different. Mister McNasty defending his 205 belt for the 5th time, faced a fighter he just beat a few weeks ago with his dominant clinch game by TKO via a cut, well, Melvin Comeau was prepared this time, doing everything to avoid the clinch over 5 rounds. After a grueling battle, that saw blood drippin from the contenders eye, this tactic fully worked. Comeau was not cut until Round 4, and most of the time left the clinch unharmed, in the End the judges made a 50:45 verdict, all rounds to the new Champ Melvin Comeau.

At 185 things looked a bit different, Wayne Benning just claimed the prize he longed for that long, beating former Champ Big Aznee by TKO, a fighter that submitted tonights Challenger Hatton before. Hatton obviously needed the fight to get to the ground, as Benning is a tough ass boxer. Benning so began very agressive dominating Hatton, but after less than a minute that backfired, Hatton used a missed right hand, taking the fight to the ground. Benning looked lost, and Hattons 2nd sub attempt worked, to make Hatton the new Champ. Talks of a rematch because of the short nature of the fight immediatly began after the celebration.

The Main Card saw 2 145 battles, Akimbo Spice asked for a revenge match with Kento Ban Gbus, after he beat his stablemate Valdez, and as the romours of a near by retirement by Spice made the round, the SFC management was in. It turned out to be a cracker, a back and forth fight of the night over 3 rounds, make it tough for the judges. With no clear verdict it was a draw, unsatisfactionary for most, but a well earned good bye Fight for Spice. In other action John Mills made a succesful SyFi debut beating Logan Lord by Split Decision. The undercard provided a sensational TKO win in Round 3 by Journeyman TJ Goodard, and Verneri Ahma stayed unbeaten at 155, showing a lot of class.

Fight of the night: Akimbo Spice vs Kento Ban Gbus

KO of the night: TJ Goodard

Sub of the night: Swagga Beats

Weekend Preview

So folks the weekend is close, and while Europe is hit by a Heat Wave, the Australian Winter is heated up by some big Sydney Fight Cards. 2 Titles will be on the line this weekend, the 135 and the 170 belt, and looking at the Weekend, before we'll start with this 2 fights. The big news during the week was the signing of 265 superstar Milton Friedman, a NJMMA veteran, who fought some big battles there and never got a title shot, the 295 p4p ranked fighter will face 265 star Rick Piano on August 18th, all contracts are signed for likely the biggest fight happening at SFC till to date.

Plus at 155 with his win on the Wednesday Card Bernardo de Barros secured a shot at champ Jorghino Marcelo, who'll make his first defense against the veteran Brazilian. But now off to the Preview:

Saturday:

135 Daichi Kishimoto vs. Yodsawan Sitsongrit

Daichi Kishimoto is one of the most profilic figures at SFC, the 2 weight class champ holds the belts at 135 and 145, and makes his 9th appearance at SFC, his 8th title fight, and 4th defense of the 135 title. For an Organisation with such a short history as SFC, this is a huge resume. But perhaps this will make his toughest task till today, he faces Yodsawan from the Sitsongrit Camp, an impressive Muay Thai Specialist on a 6 fight win streak. Looking at common opponents, both fought Dieselnoi Pramuk and BrainFog, Kishimoto at the beginning of his SFC career, Yodsawan in his recent fights, and while Kishimoto submitted both in the first round, Yodsawan got a last second KO win against Brain Fog and a Decision win over Dieselnoi. That sums it up, while Kishimoto will look to take the fight on the ground and submit his opponent, Yodsawan will look for a stand up battle and a longer fight to get his strengths going. No Prediction here, but a great fight to look forward to.

Sunday:

170 Gideon Navarro vs. Roy Whittaker

Gideon Navarro makes his 3rd title defense, and so far he was cruising through opponents, all of his title fights eneded in Round 1, and all by submission, but to show his allround strength, his 2 wins prior were TKO wins in impressive fashion. But on Sunday he'll face his biggest challenge, Roy Whitaker is 6-0, and not only an impressive Boxer as his 2 KO and 4 TKO wins show, but he also holds a good allround game. His last fight against Jahani Pulmu took him to Round 3 for the first time, so let's see, how this sets up, Navarro looked untouchable so far, Whitaker is a good bet to change that.

So after looking at the two title fights let's go day-by-day:

Friday:

The Main Event sees former 185 Bumfights/IUF Champ Dan Gee make his seconds appaerance at SyFi, being 10-1 shows a lot of form, he beat Sammy Kilbach by Decision in his SyFi debut on a WeINSyd Card. So now on to the Main Card, the wrestler sports lots of quality, but will face a great talent in 19yr old Zedidah Goldberg. While less experienced, the 5-1 fighter has 5 1st Round KO wins showing his KO Power, where he seems to have a clear advantage, let's see, if the better wrestling and more experience can lead Gee to success.

In the Co Main Event at 170 Steve Collins and Kevin Daughtrey face in a fight, that likely will see the winner get another title shot. Both are unbeaten except for title fights, where Collins lost to Navarro, while Daughtrey lost to both 170 Champs Johnson and Navarro. Expect a classic stlyle battle between Boxer Collins and Muay Thai Fighter Daugthrey, who is the likely favourite based on previous showings.

The Main Card also sees the SFC debut of Ayn Rand facing Sammy Killbach, and at 205 unbeaten Jamison Cassidy facing 5-1 Krit Leekpai, both are top notch fighters, that want to build win streaks to qualify for a title fight in SFCs deepest weight class. Also at 185 unbeaten Michael Colluci faces ranked Wagner Resende. In the talent spotlight 3-0 Mosi Kondo tries to go for 4 in a row against veteran Chris Snoky.

Saturday:

While the Main Event is a title fight, the CO-Main Event sees a revenge fight at 265, unbeaten Jason Harris, a veteran slugger, faces Rivo Riita, a fighter, he faced in his SFC debut, and won by an impressive Superman Punch early in Round 1. While this fight may determine the future of Harris at SFC, as the Org Owner may try to push the unbeaten towards facing the stronger looking youngsters a top the division, Riita is looking for revenge. Riita(5-2) had 2 impressive submission wins since the battle with Harris, and for sure should have great chances, if he can survive an early flury of punches, and take the fight to the ground.

The Main card holds Sanka Coffies SFC debut at 135, he'll face veteran Gary Dema, Coffie lost in NJMMAs 135 tournament, and won two more fights in the New York Organization, where he left to face Sydney opposition. Let's see how the talent transitions, in other action Hokuto Akira faces Robb Stark at 155, and Angel Childress faces Peter Steel at 265, with both fighters looking to rebound from tough losses.

At 135 the undercard has a big fight, as 3-0 Paulie Greene tries to stay unbeaten vs. Veteran Brain Fog(7-3), who is fighting under new management for the first time, showing the depth of the card.

Talent spotlight goes to 2-1-1 Yormoza Built, who faces a youngster in Alfie Lazzie, who already has 10 fights of experience.

Sunday:

With the title fight at 170, the Co Main Event is at 265+, seeing former Champion Monglolian Muslim in his rebound affair since loosing the title back to Arn Anderson, and to make it more dramatic, he faces his brother Ole Anderson. Ole (5-4) has struggled a lot since loosing to his brother in a brother fight, going 2-3, since then, he lost recently to Jim Bob McDonald, who will be the next challenger for his brother next week. Ole a submission fighter has trouble to absorb punches, and his chin is a weak spot, showing in 2 TKO and a KO loss, Muslim at 9-3 will try to utilize that, and look to keep the fight standing, to not fall and be submitted, as he was by Arn Anderson in there rematch.

On the Main Card, the 265+ battle between Matt Wills and Jason Imbert is a top. Wills, (7-2) lost to Arn Anderson just like the 2 previous fighters, but he got 2 impressive sub wins later, and now is looking to get back to the top again. He faces Jason Imbert, at 4-3 a fighter in need of building a streak, and in need of a victory.

Other action sees Akira Harada face Phani Julmu at 170, and while Harada stopped a 2 fight loosing streak in his recent fight with a win over Putem the Nightmare, Julmu looks to stop going on a loosing streak himself, after drawing with Arvestiyan, he lost to Roy Whitaker, who fights for the title in the Main Event.

From here the card drops off a bit, but look for Ariel at Night and Alvye Kulina produce a good one in the opener.

It is a great org. Hopefully, it will stay around for the foreseeable future.

I'm sure it will. Unfortunately I was at the end of its id range when I came into the game with my first 25 year olds so had a tough time staying competitive. The lower id project fighters here are starting to get tough now. Might be back one day if I ever manage to claw my way forward in the line for good FA:s.

Weekend Recap

So folks, another huge fight weekend in Sydney came to a close on Sunday, due to private reasons this recap is a bit late, and will likely be a bit shorter, but the fight scheduling for the 3 weeks in advance events is on track, so only a slight delay in actions this week. But with 2 title changes the weekend is all worth being recaped.

Friday:

The Main Event not only delivered the two highest rated fighters on the card, but also the Fight of the Night, as Dan Gee took Zedidah Goldberg into the cage. Dan Gee, a young Canadian with tons of talent, had trouble finding the pace in his 2nd SFC fight, and so Goldberg got Round 1, but with the start of Round 2 the fight changed, Gee applied the clinch and fought through his tactic, landing a 3rd Round TKO against a disappointed and batted Goldberg. Gee may make the move to Top Contendership soon at 185.

In the Co—Main Event Kevin Daughtrey showed his strength and his will to get back to another title fight sooner than many expected. Daughtrey got Collins basically with the first punch, and after 10 seconds the fight was over. Daugthrey didn't deny his ambitions to go after the champ again, but he had to wait for Sundays fights to get confirmation.

Highlights of the Main Card saw wins by Ayn Rand at 185, and Jamison Cassidy remained unbeaten at 205, where he can soon look for a Top 5 spot.Likewise Michel Colluci and Mosi Kondo remained unbeaten.

Fight of the night: Dan Gee vs Zedidiah Goldberg

KO of the night: Kevin Daughtrey

Sub of the night: Ayn Rand

Saturday:

The 135 title fight took everyone by storm, Yodsawan Sitsongrit didn't want to be another victim of Daichi Kishimoto, and it quickly showed he wasn't. Kichimoto confidently entered the cage, and like always wanted to move the fight quickly to the ground. However Yodsawan turned him down multiple times, and hit with precious shots, after a couple minutes, the fight moved to the clinch, and there again Daichi was denied his takedown attempts. And then with less than a minute to go, Yodsawan started raining punches, the ref stepped in, and the title changed. Yodsawan celebrated his title win, while Kishimoto found nice words, at least the English words were nice. Let's see if the two career paths cross again.

In the Co Main Event Jason Haris beat Rivo Riita again, as in the first fight Harris was quick to strike, and after only 52 seconds a precise KO Punch ended the fight. After the fight is was known, that Haris will switch to the 265+ division, where he sees his chances higher than at 265.

The Main Card saw a sucessful SFC debut of Sanka Coffie, who beat veteran Gary Dema.

Also Hokotu Akira celebrated a nice win with a 2nd round KO, and announced his switch to the 145 division. Further down the Card Brain Fog got a 2nd Round Submission in his first SFC fight. Today it was announced, that Brain Fog is in contract talks about being the first challenger for Yodsawan.

Fight of the night: Sanka Coffie vs Gary Dema

KO of the night: Peter Steel

Sub of the night: Brain Fog

Sunday:

Another title change brought the Weekend to a close in a Main Event, that may stand for the ages, or perhaps till these two will meet again. Gideon Navarro and Roy Whittaker fought an intense battle, that showed both fighters class. With big punches and variable tactics, both seemed already half way down in the first Round, a wild fight slowed a bit in the 2nd, as Navarro took control in the clinch. Then in the 3rd Round Roy Whittaker was able to get out of the clinch multiple times, and then hit the big shots, to force a stoppage. SFC officials confirmed, that they started talks about a rematch with both fighters.

The Co-Main Event saw Ole Anderson beat former Champ Mongolian Muslim at 265+, Muslim looked out of shape, and was submitted in Round 2. However Matt Wills took the crowd and the 265+ rankings by storm, as he beat Jason Imbert, and made it clear he wanted a shot at the title again.

Other highlights saw Akira Harada win at 170, and Jean Ponce at 205.

Fight of the night: Roy Whitaker vs Gideon Navarro

KO of the night: Muswell Hill

Sub of the night: Jackson Avery

Weekend Preview

SFC usually never disappoints, but with only 1 belt on the line this weekend, it looks a bit slower than usual, well the only title fight happens Sunday, and is in the 265+ division, so let's look at this first:

265+ Arn Anderson v Jim Bob McDonald

It is a revenge fight, as so many tend to happen over the last few weeks, with youngsters developing more talent, and hunting down some veterans, here we have the classic Oldie vs. Youngester Scenario. Arn Anderson, heads into his 8th title fight at SFC, and has only lost once, when he was TKOd by Mongolian Muslim, a defeat he avenged just a couple weeks later. Now his opponent tonight Jim Bob McDonald he faced in May, and it was a rather easy submission win. However Jim Bob since then focused much more on his career, and has 3 easy 1st Round TKO wins since then. His most recent coming over Arns brother Ole Anderson. With this said, it seems a question of tactics, can Arn get the Takedown, or will he like his brother be smothered by some Big Punches from the Youngster this time, well, watch it on Sunday.

The other fights of the Weekend:

Friday:

Main Event:

205 Blake Phoenix v Mujahid Jackson

Phoenix at 2-1 in Sydney Fights comes in here after being succesful over Costa Ionnaou, a fighter he now has beaten twice. Jackson (6-2) is 2-2 in SyFi fights, beating Dukey Tots recently, he is a veteran, that relies on his ground game, but also sports some boxing. Phoenix looks to be the far better all rounder, and with his experience from the NYFN Tournament, is a safe pick, when betting.

Co Main Event:

185 Man Itizer v Chief Stalker

A fight of two veterans co-headlines the card, Man Itizer is a Muay Thai fighter, that with a win in his last fight broke a 3 fight loosing streak, he will try to build on that, his opponent Chief Stalker is almost a pure Boxer, that scored impressive KO wins in his last 2 fights, but had trouble gettin settled at SFC. With this fight both try to fight there way into the rankings, and can get special attention.

The Main Card sees two interesting 205 fighters, when Boogie Rollins (on a 3 fight win streak) faces Isiah Cooley, on a 2 fight win streak himself. Both had some trouble early in their career, but now seem to have turned it around, on paper, and based on strengths of opponents Cooley looks the light favourite. At 265+ Voshon Daniels and Cat Fhin face each other in a rematch, first time around Fhin beat Daniels by Decision. Both are SFC veterans, who never shy away of a fight, let's see, who keeps building their SFC resumee.

In the Undercard look for Belgian Thomas Bolleke, making his 2nd SFC appearance, facing Steven Urkel in his SyFi debut.

Saturday:

No title fights on a Saturday card is an exception, but the card holds 2 265 battles with some veteran SFC fighters.

Main Event:

265 Sergey Korotkiy v Mika Allu

Korotkiy and Allu both struggled, when having break out fights against top opponents, so now they'll fight each other for a chance to step up towards contendership again. Korotkiy got 3 impressive wins before falling to Barkley, a famous man for hanging 2 rounds with Piano. Since then the wrestler beat Steve Harpik, and looks to build on that. Mika Allu is almost a carbon copy, after 2 easy wins, he lost to Travis Dillon, by TKO, after that he TKOd Rosario Fusco, who we just saw win on Wednesday. Allu is the much better all-rounder, and looks a safer bet, but may not always be best prepared.

Co Main Event:

265 Stefan Harpik v Itzhak Weinstein

Harpik and Weinstein are at different levels of their career, but could steal some unusual attention here, Harpik is a ground fighter, on a 2 fight loosing streak, beaten by Childress and Korotkiy. Weinstein has 3 wins in a row, after loosing at NJMMA and to Korotkiy in his first 2 fights. Weinstein despite this 3 fight win streak underwent a Management Change recently, which may influence his training, as he had to switch camps. However, his stand up advantage looks too huge to overcome.

The Main Card sees Kurt Wagner face Evan Dryll at 205, Wagner recently struggled, coming in on a 2 fight loosing streak, and at 5-4 surely needs a win here, Dryll on the other hand has had a shaky career so far, being 4-3 he always struggled to get a win streak going.

At 170 Thor Odinson faces Roy Jones Gracie, Odinson has already beaten Gracie, in a fight, that was such spectacular, that SFC officials put it on the card again. Both fighters earned Fight of the Night honours for a special 3 round decision, that saw Odinson deny 19 takedown attempts by Gracie. Since then both have gone 2-1 and are on 2 fight win streaks, it should be a good one.

Watch out for Clay Frazier(205) and Hip Hop(265) in the undercard, both are 3-0 at SyFi, and are safe picks to enter the rankings soon.

Sunday:

As mentioned and previewed, the title fight is the Main Event,

Co-Main Event:

155 Chakrii Weecharangsan v Deklek Sitsongrit

Hmm well, don't ask me to repeat the names, Chakrii, is 5-0 at SyFi, but so far has gone a very protected way , his challenges get tougher every time, last time out Robb Stark took him the distance for a first time, but Chakrii responded nice, and won the decision, now he faces the rest in well- travelled Deklek. Deklek has now fought in 3 Orgs, undergone a manager change, and faced the toughest opposition, he comes in on a 2 fight loosing streak, but those came to Akimbo Spice and Bernardo de Barros, that shows he's not afraid to accept challenges.

On the Main Card, at 145 5-1 Zieske faces 6-2 Santana, Zieske is tipped by many to be a future champion, he won all his 5 SyFi fights, and 4 of them by submission. Remi Dacourt was first to go the distance with him, in Santana he faces a fighter, who took his first defeat in a title fight with Jazz Clementine, and then had a great 2 fight engagement with Cyborg, splitting the fights, now he seems destined to give Zieske a tough challenge. At 155 Nazim Bardakci faces Murphy Brown, with both fighters struggling recently, while Bardakci is 1-2, Brown comes in on a 3 fight loosing streak, this shows both fighters need a win to remain competitive and secure new contracts.

On the undercard, look for 2-0 Billy Jack at 170, one of the hottest talent at SyFi, he still fights with long training periods and is carefully build. With Jack Anville he faces a 6-6 veteran, that may give him a tough test.

So now, let's head over to Sydney for this weekends fights.

Ricky Warner

[The set of MMAAddict.com can be seen as the intro music fades in, showing Ricky Warner seated at his well appointed mahogany desk. The camera swings around and comes in for a close-up]

Ricky Warner: Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Welcome to the MMAAddict.com MMA Vlog. Today we will be talking about some recent events going on over at my good friend Brunno Falcone's camp and how it affects the long term picture for not only Brunno and his camp, but also the organizations that he participates in.

The first thing I'd like to talk about is the recent roster changes over in the Falcone camp. Robert Bebe, a fighter that has been training with Falcone for quite some time, has been released. Robert Bebe, in fact, was the longest tenured fighter on the roster since Brunno's return to the fighter management scene. Bebe was a journeyman fighter with a 5-4 record his most recent fight, a loss against Jaro Lalla in the NJMMA organization. A fight which broke a three fight winning streak for Robert Bebe. Many thought that he was turning things around and then he was let go by Brunno Falcone. Bebe was unavailable for comment at the time of filming, but we did have a word with Brunno.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/manager_avatars/1358045672Brunno%20Falcone.jpg

Brunno Falcone: Tanks for havin' me on da show, Ricky. Robert was a good guy what I picked up from free agency. He was sportin' a 1-1 record from a QFC tournament he was in, and I picked him up and started trainin' him. His first fight wit me was against Pinched Nerve and Bebe was takin' it to him all fight. Wit tree seconds to go in da fight, Nerve manages to get da TKO. Deez tings happen. He went 4-1 in his next five fights and finally lost his last outing. Fact is Bebe is a journeyman fighter at best. He just wasn't improvin' like he should and we both decided dat when his contract was up dat he step away from da sport. He's a good guy and he gots heart, but he just ain't meant ta make it is dis here sport.

Ricky Warner: following this development, Peter Steel, with a 4-2 record was also let go by the Falcone camp. We caught up with Steel at a local pub to get his side of things.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/32/32w5.jpg

Peter Steel: Yeah, Brunno was always saying that I wasn't learning this stuff like I should be. Maybe he is right. I mean, I saw some of the other guys in the gym and how they were developing and was just blown away. Some of these 16 year olds Brunno recruited were becoming beasts and I was falling behind. I was doing pretty well in the competition, but as I stepped up in competition it was harder and harder to pull off wins. my three fight win streak got snapped by Mark Borrego, and frankly, if I was developing like some of my former stablemates I should have won that fight. But I didn't. I got my ass kicked. I took some of my frustrations out of Angel Childress in my last fight because I knew I would be retiring after that fight and I really wanted to go out on a high note. Boble, the owner of Sydney Fights, is a great guy and always had faith in me, but I didn't have faith in myself and that lack of confidence would have gotten me beat the Hell up in the higher levels of competition. I'll miss this, but I don't regret my decision to retire from the sport.

Ricky Warner: Speaking of young guns, Brunno has recruited two new fighters into his ranks. Gianni Castellana, a 16 year old that is training vigorously at Ikki Takeda's Colossus Gym, and Reinhard Stiglitz, a fresh-faced fighter also training at Colossus Gym and already entered into the Beefcake tournament. Reinhard was recruited just hours after Robert Bebe was terminated. Both of these young men declined comment and Brunno is all but mum on the subject as well, saying only that Gianni will be training relentlessly until he is 18 and legal to fight and Stiglitz is entering the tournament over at PhoQus.

Rumors swirl about yet another roster change over at the Falcone camp. There is talk that, after Voshon Daniel's next fight, that he too will be retiring. I asked Brunno about the validity of those claims and here is what he said.

Brunno Falcone: Yeah, Voshon ain't no spring chicken. And while he still could fight on for years ta come he decided dat he could be better served in anodder capacity. We talked about dis and since Logan Cook ain't none too pleased wit workin' as my personal assistant dat weez gonna let him go and have Voshon workin' wit me instead. Dat will leave me wit one more opening in my roster, so I may recruit one more project fighter. Who knows?

Ricky Warner: Well, there you have it, folks. That's all the time we have for now, but tune in as we go over the various upcoming fights this month. Have a great day and we'll see you next time.

Kurt Wagner: My fight with Evan Dryll will be my retirement fight win, lose, or draw. It will finish my contract here and I've had fun guys. But I've been offered a teaching/coaching position at Colossus Gym and I have decided to take it. My hats off to the 205 division. Keep it entertaining for me guys. I will be watching and will be in the corner on all of Sanka's fights as he will be one of my students.

Weekend Recap

It was a weekend, that saw Sydney Fights loose some spots in the Org Rankings, but as some cards lacked title fights, this was expected, however, the weekend was one to make some nice storylines and bring the Org forward overall.

And please note we have a new Merchandise Partner, make sure to do your shopping and laundry in Sydney at Combat Wombat, they will also sent out valuable sponsorships to our fighters, please make sure to accept their offers. Having a Merchandise Partner in Sydney is a valauble asset for the Org going forward.

Friday:

Blake Phoenix pushed his Sydney Fights record to 3-1, after falling to Pablo Spezziale and a long training break he prooves he is a man on a mission, Mujahid Jackson could never get into the fight, with Blake Phoenix making him miss almost all his attacks. At 4:40 the fight ended on a flurry of strikes, that led to a TKO win. Blake Phoenix will surely be asked to step it up in his next fight.

The Co-Main Event saw Man Itizer, win his 2nd fight in a row, the veteran needed less than 1 Round to comfortably put away Chief Stalker in a fight of veterans, Chief Stalker was badly cut, and never was in the fight, that ended on a TKO in less than 4 minutes.

Boogie Rollins upset Isiah Cooley, as he schooled the talented fighter in Ground and Pound, Cooley was a slight favourite based on his 2 recent wins, but Rollins applied his tactics wonderfully, and dominated the fight on the ground, Boogie Rollings is expected to be now ver short of moving into the 205 Power Rankings. Voshon Daniels won his final MMA fight, he got a revenge win against Cat Fhin, as a stand up battle ended in a TKO with a badly cut Cat Fhin. Sydney Org owner Boble Lineman made sure to congratulate Voshon Daniels on his great career at SFC, as the veteran has a 6-4 record, with all 10 fights being fought in Sydneys Prime Org.

In the undercard, Nils Ragnaar, got his 5th win in a row, and spotlight talent Thomas Bolleke got his 2nd SFC win.

Saturday:

Mika Allu won a strange fight against Sergey Korotkiy, as they went the distance, and Allu got awarded all 3 rounds. Allu now will look to secure a fight against one of the top Contenders, to perhaps prepare for a run at SyFi Champ Rick Piano. In tonights fight, Allu got his tactic through in Round 1 took Korrotkiy down, and fough his dominant Ground style, but couldn't submit him, in Round 2 and 3 Korotkiy denied all takedown attempts, keeping the fight standing, but to surprise all, Allu took on the battle hit with some tough shots and won comfortably on the scorecard.

In the Co Main Event, also at 265, Itzhak Weinstein looked not himself in the first couple of rounds, the huge favourite seemed to have been badly hungover, either from his lengthy trip or some other reasons, and was taken down in both rounds by Harpik, who looked on the way to a Decision win, when the tide turned. Weinstein connected with his kicks, and dropped Harpik to the floor twice, before a TKO win by a strike combination.

The Main Card saw Kurt Wagner win his final SFC fight, when he beat Evan Dryll, it is known, that Wagner is in the running for a coaches job, and the black belt likely fought his last battle in a cage, he was all over Evan Dryll, and showed his black belt skills with a great armbar submission.

Continuing his success, Thor Odinson denied Gracie again, as the two fought an almost look a like fight to their first encounter. Odinson frustrated Gracie by stuffing takedowns and won by decision. Odinson also showed his skills, when he couldn't deny a takedown, but bravely fought through the ground sequence.

Other action saw some great wins by talents like Nurmagabeeb, Hip Hop and Spencer Rubenstein, who looked like contenders, when bolstering their records with wins.

Sunday:

The big day was finally there, when the fighters hit the cage to fight for the heaviest title of them all, the SFC Superheavyweight title, Jim Bob McDonald came to the cage first, and looked in much better shape, than in his first match with Arn Anderson, who brought the belt to the cage minutes later. When they started it soon became clear, that it was McDonald to apply his tactics today, he brought the fight to the clinch and denied Anderson a few takedown attempts. Then his punches begin to hit hard, but it was an uppercut out of nowhere, that sent Anderson tumbling and the ref jumping in declaring the TKO and the new Champion. McDonald will now hold a title, that Anderson was so used to presenting, when fighting at SFC.

In the Co Main Event, unbeaten Chakrii Weesarangsan faced veteran Deklek Sitsongrit, and it was the older Thai, that showed his younger countryman, tthat he's the better stand up fighter, at least on that night. Deklek will move up in the 155 rankings, while Chakrii will have to go back to the drawing board.

On the Main Card Philip Zieske shows he is ready for a 145 title challenge, with the belt being held by Daishi Kishimoto it was clear, even a 6th win in a row will not be enough for an immediate challenge, but Zieske showed his class, when making sure, he submitted fellow ground fighter Marcos Santana in Round 2. Zieske showed his class, and an Armbar led to success.

Nazim Bardakci and Phillip Moore scored valuable wins at 155, both will be ranked, when the new rankings come out Monday, along with that Billy Jack stayed unbeaten, at 170.

Voshon "The Pain Train" Daniels

Ring Announcer: What a war! You avenged your loss today against Cat Fhin tonight and it was a slobberknocker! What's next for you?

Voshon: I'm going ta Disney World, baby! Whooo!!! Then, I'm sad to say, I'm hanging up the gloves. I love doin' this and I'm sure there's plenty of guys in here I can still KO, but this is it for me in the cage. [Voshon starts to tear up and get emotional] I love you guys [Gesturing to the crowd], You were what kept me going through all the ups and downs. The Pain Train done rolled up to the station for the last time, Baby! Whooo!

Ring Announcer: That's sad to hear. You've always been an entertaining character even if you weren't always winning. What will you do next?

All kidding aside, I am gonna be helping Mr. Falcone out with some stuff. Logan Cook is leaving for greener pastures as he quits as Personal Assistant. I'll be taking over in that roll. But I ain't done, see? I'm gonna be like Terry Tate, Office Linebacker. I'm gonna help whip this team into shape and improve win records and morale, baby! Yeah! The Pain Train just rolled up to Stark Slugger Society, Baby! And I'm bringing it!!! Whooo!!!

Ring Announcer: Well, there you have it folks. The Pain Train is leaving the station and chugging off into the sunset.

Voshon: Damn, baby! That was good.
