Manager Rankings Error

GBK16

So... just a question because I don't actually know how it works, but why is GBK's competition rating -1.2 million away from the second worst competition rating? I know there's some algorithm and when you win your comp rating is worse because the competition gap difference or something. But anyways... just wondering if anyone knows how that system works and why such a drastic gap.

There's only one explanation... grants a can crusher obviously.

Seriously though I'd love to have the system explained as well it's random AF

or he still talks to Aaron daily....

Seriously, congrats Grant.

It says on my profile that my Average Opp Rank is in the 1100's or so. Mike can't figure out why this is abnormal (A number of other managers also have the same issue).

Last 20 opponent rankings = 212 , 32 , 256 , 164 , 760 , 322 , 360 , 71 , 222 , 368 , 1024 , 550 , 394 , 9 , 437 , 241 , 629 , 324 , 290 , 120.

From my last 20 opponents, the average rank comes to 339.25. The Comp Rating takes your current rank + Average opp rank into account, so the abnormality with the Average Opp Rank skews that formula horribly off.

Skewed Formula

Minus=My_Rating-Opponent_Rating

if Minus>=0

Divide=My_Rating/Opponent_Rating

if Minus<0

Divide=Opponent_Rating/My_Rating

Rating=Minus*Divide

1 - 1140 = -1139

1140 / 1 = 1140

1140 * -1139 = -1,298,460

Actual Formula

Minus=My_Rating-Opponent_Rating

if Minus>=0

Divide=My_Rating/Opponent_Rating

if Minus<0

Divide=Opponent_Rating/My_Rating

Rating=Minus*Divide

1 - 398 = -397

398 / 1 - 398

-397 * 398 = -158,006

So -158,006 is what the number should actually be (At his moment in time with current opp manager rankings). While I would still be at the top of that list, the difference is heavily inaccurate.

This is the formula for how it is calculated taken from the Wiki by the way

Minus=My_Rating-Opponent_Rating

if Minus>=0

Divide=My_Rating/Opponent_Rating

if Minus<0

Divide=Opponent_Rating/My_Rating

Rating=Minus*Divide

I'm not judging here, just wondering; This formula used for everyone works fine normally, but just miscalculates for a few managers?

Who then?

If we know who has such big difference, we might spot the reason for it by deduction.
