Xtreme Combat 1: Pre-Event Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings and salutations ladies and gentlemen, this is Furious Styles and I’m live in London once again. However, rather than being flocked by thousands of rabid mixed martial arts fans, I’m at a much smaller venue…but still surrounded by rabid fans! Here I stand at Wild Bob’s Bar and seven hundred-and-fifty crazy blue-bloods will jam pack this place to see the inaugural kickboxing event known as Xtreme Combat 1!

A new KT organization has hit the MMATycoon scene and looks to not only establish itself as the elite KT organization in London, but also work its way up the ranks to earn the distinction of being one of the best in the world! I really hope Bob is truly a wild man, because he’s going to host a night of wild kickboxing action so he’d better be ready for plenty of punishing punches, thundering kicks, blood splatters and knocked out fighters!

Aaron ThaiGuy, the organization’s owner, is new to the business scene but not to the MMATycoon world. Returning from a bit of a hiatus, he returns rejuvenated, invigorated, and anxious to not only run an excellent organization, but to also do his best to become a well-respected manager of tremendous kickboxing fighters as well! As a member of the Steel Penn Alliance, he will look to maintain the level of high standards set forth by and to all members, and most importantly, he takes pride in his work and does so diligently.

Now that the particulars have been covered, as I always say…let’s get down to business! The final touches of the premier event are being signed off on and one more fight is being planned. At this point in time, here is the lineup that will be set forth on December 4th: ONE LIGHTWEIGHT, TWO WELTERWEIGHT, ONE MIDDLEWEIGHT, TWO LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT, THREE HEAVYWEIGHT, ONE OF WHICH IS FOR THE HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE, AND ONE SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT!

Dante Luciano (1-0) of Tycoon Alliance and Pakon “The Harbinger” Rajanont (0-0) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE are the Lightweight fighters on the card, and here we go again with me being the nervous manager! Luciano is a homegrown product from London so it’s very possible the Wild Bob’s crowd will be backing him up in this fight. Pakon and his older brother, Kongsak, have a bit of a side bet going between them. Pakon, who is a bit of a brash young man, told his older brother that he would win his first fight faster than his brother did. Kongsak told him there’s no way, and in addition, he said that he will win his Middleweight Championship Fight against the current champion, Gary Ablett, faster than Pakon will win his first fight.

Their hometown of Phuket will undoubtedly get in on this bet as they take great pride in both fighters, no matter how bold they get with one another. Kongsak has gotten on both mine and Pakon’s case about not having him fight yet, but Pakon convinced me to let his first fight be in an organization, so here it is. Luciano knocked out his first opponent so Rajanont is very aware of his power, but he has been working very diligently in the gym, so time will tell if his hard work has paid off, or if Luciano’s age and height advantage are overwhelming for Rajanont. As always with the fighter’s I manage and happen to be able to watch in person, I’ll be hoping for the best while trying to remain calm.

Pumet “The Surgoen” Mokkasem (0-1) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE and Aaron Morris (0-2), also of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE, kick off the first Welterweight fight in K1 Combat history! Now as a member of the same Alliance, I can clown a little bit because the members know it’s all love. Pumet, I’m pretty sure you want to spell your nickname as “Surgeon” instead of “Surgoen”. Or maybe I’m wrong and Surgoen means something in Bangkok – or as you have it listed, Bangcock, and I’m not even going to elaborate on that because this is, after all, a family show! – but to most of the English speaking world, it’s spelled Surgeon. Just trying to help out a fellow Alliance member. Also, everyone knows how I feel about Steel Penn versus Steel Penn matches, but you do what you have to do.

Both fighters have had a tough go early in their careers as combined, they have lost three matches in the Quick Fight Championships. Pumet will look to use his age advantage to teach the younger Morris a trick or two in the ring for certain. His experience from fighting in so many Lumpini Boxing Stadium matches may very well serve him well in this fight! Morris may very well look to use his height and weight advantage to overcome the maturity of Mokkasem. I wouldn’t be surprised to see one of these fighters get knocked out early in the fight due to their struggles!

The final Welterweight fight of the night takes place between Jerome Dupre (1-0) of Tycoon Alliance and Roger Kint (1-0)! Dupre, very much like Luciano, is a homegrown product and will no doubt have the crowd support during his fight. Besides, these crazy kids in London like the non-standard look and Dupre’s purple Mohawk should go over quite well with them. Kint has a bit of a weight advantage, perhaps due to the renowned German beer, so he may look to try more power strikes rather than accuracy to test Dupre’s ability to take abuse. Dupre will more than likely use speed and height to try his best to keep Kint at bay, so we’ll see who is able to impose their will better than the other man.

It’s difficult to gauge the abilities of these fighters because they both have had Quick Fight success, but neither of them were able to finish their opponents. A unanimous decision is a victory nonetheless, but I have no doubt they, as well as the crowd, prefer to see someone get dropped cold, so their training regiment will determine who is better prepared to deliver the blow that knocks the other man down and out.

The lone Middleweight fight of the evening features Big “Heavy” Hands (4-1) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE versus Jacob “Chosen Servant” Israel (2-0), who is also a member of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE! Hmm, having an inter-Alliance battle on the opening night of events may prove to be an odd situation, depending on what takes place of course. It’s very possible that after the fight, no matter who wins, they’ll both saddle up to a bar somewhere and have a drink to celebrate their first fight of many in Xtreme K1 Combat. Seeing that both fighters have padded their records with fights in the Quick Fight Championships, they have proven ability, sure, but will they be able to adopt to the game plan side of these fights, especially against an opponent who is overall an unknown?

Now, apparently, Hands, obviously being known for having big hands, had utilized those hands in the adult film industry prior to making his way into mixed martial arts. Now I don’t know about anyone else, but I really hope he doesn’t mistake an attempted submission for an opportunity to try and invade a fighter’s personal space with his hands, if you know what I’m saying! I hope Israel wears a cup and has the ability to keep his butt out of trouble, literally! Hands will have the height advantage, Israel the weight advantage, so we’ll see who is able to exploit their strengths the most effectively in this fight.

The first of two Light Heavyweight battles will be waged between Az “The Kid” Newto (0-3) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE and Jake “The Mauler” Gustafsson (2-0)! “The Kid” from Leeds will surely have crowd support but there are whispers that perhaps he is fighting too early in his career. His early struggles may very well be attributed to his youth as well as difficulties with training, but that remains skeptical. Gustafsson, the “Swedish Mauler” as I’ll refer to him, has had success in the Quick Fight ranks, but I find it interesting that both of these warriors train at the same gym.

I wonder if they’ll even go as far as to spar in the same sessions to obtain a feel for what the other is capable of, or not capable of on the other hand? Either way, their development at the same gym will be an interesting “X” factor, if you will. There is enough time for “The Kid” to get the situation turned around, but he needs to do so as soon as possible! Having a fighter begin so precariously – that’s the college word of the day – is definitely a fragile situation to deal with.

The other Light Heavyweight battle on the card places Jay Merel (0-0) of Legion of Doom and Aaron “Newto” KickingKing (0-0) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE in the ring across from one another! This will be a battle of fresh blood as both fighters are not only eighteen years old, but as it stands, neither of them has had a professional fight. Battles such as these are always difficult to determine because the fight history is limited to say the least. On a side note, I wonder what “Newto” means.

Merel, the man from Amsterdam, will have a height and weight advantage in this fight so that may contribute to his particular approach to this contest. Another Leeds product steps into the ring with KickingKing, and stating the obvious, I assume he’ll want to unleash a flurry of kicks that will slow Merel down and do enough damage to earn the victory. Which one of these young bucks will be victorious in their professional debut!? The fans in attendance will definitely watch intently as that question is answered.

Elrond Aragon (2-1) – who is obviously an obsessive Lord of the Rings fan – and Tim “Hemenman” Yankee (0-1) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE kick off the trio of Heavyweight battles to be witnessed! I have to say that there are some very creative names and nicknames on this fight card. Hopefully I’ll be able to find out the meaning of some of these names in due time as these fighters become more familiar to me. Aragon’s record has been compiled in the Quick Fight Championships, and his last victory was by way of submission.

I truly hope his manager makes sure that Aragon understands there are no submissions in a KT organization. That wouldn’t bode too well if he tried a takedown and slapped on a submission hold of some sort. I’m just sayin’. Yankee is a pretty large young man who’ll have the height and weight advantage in this fight, yet his standup capability is very much in question, seeing he lost his only Quick Fight Championship match by way of submission. I have no doubt he’s very happy that he won’t have to worry about being forced to tap out for the duration of his time in Xtreme K1 Combat. I wouldn’t in the least bit surprised if Aragon either starts to speak some sort of Elvish language, or he dons a crown and proclaims that the king has returned.

Edoja “Maddog” Benjamin (0-1-) of Tycoon Alliance and Klaas “The Destroyer” Van Delft (0-0)– perhaps he’s a cousin of Rob Van Dam? – of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE are set to battle in the second Heavyweight fight of the night! Apparently, and I’m not quite sure how or why this information was made readily accessible to me, Van Delft is an adult movie star when he’s not training for mixed martial arts and his nickname was given to him for his…rump shaking, and potentially breaking, capabilities. Knowing that bit of information makes me a bit uncomfortable to be honest because let’s be honest, that’s definitely too much information!

I wonder what Benjamin does back home in Nigeria when he’s able to visit? Maybe it’s best that I don’t know after being traumatized by that Van Delft information. Benjamin recently lost a fight by way of unanimous decision but that doesn’t really tell the whole story of what he’s capable of. We’ll see how he fares after more proper direction and training…when he actually joins a gym to train. Come on man, how are you going to improve if you don’t get in the gym and bust a serious sweat!? If you want to learn to fight, you have to actually learn how to fight. I’ve never seen someone become a great fighter through osmosis. If this situation maintains, I would suspect Van Delft will have a much easier time of things than he expected.

All right folks, the last Heavyweight contest is the Main Event; the Grand Salami; The Big Dance for the inaugural Heavyweight title of K1 Combat Extreme! Fred “The Freak” Thompson (0-0) of Tycoon Alliance brings his attitude and fiery red Mohawk into battle against “Slimaletti” Itse Perkele (1-0) of the FinnFighters! You have to dig a fighter who is sponsored by his own company! How often do you see that? And to top it off, he’s wearing his own brand of clothing as well! This guy is a marketing machine. Maybe he read some Michael Jordan business books?

“Slimaletti”, which I’m sure I’ll find out what that means eventually, steps into this title shot with a 1-0 record by way of a unanimous decision. The FinnFighters are a very well respected Alliance so I have no doubt that Perkele will be well trained and ready for this championship opportunity. The Tycoon Alliance is not an alliance to sleep on, though, so don’t underestimate Thompson. There’s a reason he has been given this title shot!

As this fight currently stands, should the training continue as is, I have to say that Perkele will have a major advantage over Thompson! Thompson, if your management team can manage it, find a far better gym to train in man. Believe me, you’ll be thanking me later because Perkele is training with excellent coaches and sparring with great fighters, so you’ll definitely have to step your game up! I have a strong suspicion that Perkele wouldn’t want to become the first Heavyweight champion of Xtreme K1 with people writing off his abilities because the opposition didn’t handle their business properly.

And the final match of the night to wrap up the event features the large-and-in-charge fighters, the heavy artillery, the Super Heavyweights! Curtis Mayhem (0-0) of ACME – St. Petersburg– what an appropriate last name for a super heavyweight fighter – and Giacomo “The Cleaner” Benvenuti (0-0) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – and yet another fighter who I manage that I’ll be watching nervously – will lock horns in the first fight of this division in Xtreme K1 Combat history!

Mayhem is very tall and is probably fighting in a kickboxing organization because basketball just wasn’t the calling people assumed it would be for a man who stands seven feet tall! Benvenuti will have to work hard to get past those long kicks and punches if he has any chance in this fight. The proud man from Rimini, whose nickname comes from one of his favorite movies, “The Professional”, knows what lies ahead but I know his work ethic and I have no concerns about the preparations he’s making for this fight. Having to watch two fighters I manage fight on the same night will be quite an undertaking and I’ll probably look like an expectant father, but I’ll make it.

Well ladies and gents, that ends my time here and I appreciate you taking the time to review these fights with me. I have spoken with Aaron ThaiGuy and I know he will do his best to improve and expand Xtreme K1 Combat as quickly and as thoroughly as possible, so keep an eye and an ear out for this exciting organization! And remember, Steel Penn Alliance pushes itself to be the best at what they do in all facets of business. Despite various super supplements that have been arising here and there, rest assured that Steel Penn nutritional products are excellent and guaranteed to be as advertised. I wonder if Steel Penn will be allowed to research some of these super supplements…? Take care, be well and I’ll see you at the fights!

@Aaron KickingKing: hey Aaron the funniest thing happened today, my coaches were trying to give me a gameplan for our fight. Can you believe it? They actually seem to think I need a gameplan to beat you. I'm gonna beat you so hard you're momma's gonna cry for days when she sees your face after the fight. A gameplan for a punk like you, what a joke :P

Giacomo Benvenuti

Erv Plower, I see that you are the next to step into the ring with me on January 13, 2014. I believe Xtreme K1 Combat has a twisted sense of humor, because you will not be able to enjoy your New Year that much. In the back of your mind, you know full well that I will be preparing for our battle while you foolishly partake in other non-beneficial endeavors. You witnessed what I did to another very tall man who obviously has no basektball talent, and if you feel your outcome will be different, perhaps in a way you're correct. Your end will be even faster. Prepare to be chopped down like a tree, because once I finish "plowing" you, I will have my hand raised in victory, then I shall depart and feast on sweet cannoli!

@Jake Gustafsson: I dominated in my debut fight and now I’m ready for a step up in competition. If I can stop your 3 fight winning streak I’ll be the mac daddy of the LHW division. Who knows I might even get a title fight. Since you’re the one standing in my way I suggest bringing a pillow to the ring because I will put you to sleep! Night night don't let the bedbugs bite.

Jacob Israel:

Jiggy? This is a joke right?

I think we will have a match-up to find out eventually (if i don't eat crow and loose my next one - but if I beat him in devastating fashion - i'll be right up there with you - but you might have to take care of Gustafsson first)

Hindenpeter, I will do my best to have Francois display the work you put into him and make you proud under my guidance.

should be working out good only having to train half the skills
