NBA - Bubble restart

What you guys think about all of this? It will take place in Florida, in the Disney resort. Some of the players are boycotting due to the BLM movement, plus security/health concerns.

I feel like this season sort of mitigated Lebron's chance of breaking the all time scoring record.

It screwed up several records, but this is vital for Lebron's legacy. If he fails to win a title this year, it is basically over for him in terms of competing with MJ. If he can secure a title this year though, he is still in the run to catch him, but he will still need two more titles. If he can equal MJ's title count with a total of 11 finals appearances, then you could argue he is the GOAT.

Davis will also likely renew if they win a title, if they don't, there is no guarantee.

He isn't competing with MJ anyway. He has longevity stats and good averages, but 3-6 in the finals, even if he won this year, 4-6 wont cut it. He'd have to win a few more scoring titles, a dopy award, a few more mvps, AND more finals, to at least go 7-6. Then you could make the argument but thats a whole lot of work to be done in the next 5 years. And even then, you have to consider the extra years Lebron had to do this. Mj played 3 years at UNC and broke his ankle in his 2nd season, and the 2 year layoff to play some baseball. 11 full Bulls years for MJ (13 total if you count the Wizards), Lebron is in his 17th season. I mean... its all subjective but Lebrons goat window has passed for me unless he can rack up 4 straight finals and a few more mvps/a scoring title/ dpoy awards along the way. Just my opinion though.

People kind of forget how MJ was getting beaten before getting to the finals (especially how the Pistons were ass whooping him for 3 years) and how the Bulls got smashed by Shaq when he came back. Also, the fact Jordan went to play baseball or him breaking his foot is a weak debate. I think MJ benefited from an era where there was no real super start opposition. There were several good teams and some great players, but no legendary teams. The 80s had that, the Pistons were than (and they beat him down). Then in the late 90s and 00s you had those Lakers and San Antonio teams. Later you had the Lakers, Heat, Boston and GS teams. The only other team in the 90s i would call legendary would probably be Utah, but they mostly had 2 players and the Bulls simply had their number. Houston was very good but they avoided the Bulls in the finals and won it 2x when he was away.

I also think MJ's team would no way beat that GS team, that was probably the best team ever assembled, especially the one with Durant in it. Lebron also lost 2 times to the Spurs. That team went 18 years (or somewhere there) with a 50+ record. That team also beat Kobe's team and i am sure they would give MJ a good run for his money.

In regards to the awards, Lebron was robbed of at least 2 MVP awards. Rose and the first year Curry won it over him were a joke, just go and look at the numbers, they make zero sense. For me, if Lebron can win 3 more titles it will be over. It will mean Lebron made it to the finals more seasons than Jordan had at the Bulls and it will also mean he equals his title wins. It will also mean he won 6 titles with 3 different franchises, while being the best player. Nobody in history has done that.
