BUDOKAI FF 62: LESNAR VS. KAWAMATA

MAIN CARD PREVIEW

BROUGHT TO YOU BY JACK LaBEAR

http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1551998028bff62.png

Hold on to your hats boys, this Saturday The Budokai Fighting Federation brings its unique MMA style to the Shinjuku Indoor Arena with BFF 62: Lesnar vs. Kawamata. This is going to be an exciting night filled with heart pounding action. Saturdays card is filled will top notch fighters capped off with the main event, where we will see the up and comer Kento Kawamata taking on the veteran Mark Lesnar in the heavyweight division.

Lets start off with the main card, after the crowd is warmed up with the undercard bouts.

The main card will get going with a middleweight match up featuring John "Johnny" Lawrence (4-1) taking on Paddy Brown Jr (7-2). This is a classic stand up vs ground game battle, Lawrence has an impressive ground game and look for him to try to take it to the mat often. Brown has more experience and has proven to be a tough adversary to all who have faced him. Brown has great take down defense and hasn't been taken down in 9 fights, but he has recently made a change in management and that disruption may just tip the scales to the younger Lawrence.

I see Lawrence taking this one by submission in round one.

Next we'll see the three time champ from Dropkick Cage Warriors Ryan Rodriguez (6-2) facing Gasan "Novichok." Yakolev (7-3) in the lightweight division. Rodriguez is following up a disappointing debut here at BFF and will be looking to prove himself. Yakolev is returning to the ring after suffering a defeat in his second attempt at taking home the title. Both fighters have a lot on the line and this one could go either way, but I think Yakolev will ultimately outscore Rodriguez enough in the clinch to take home the win.

Yakolev by decision

Next up is a heavyweight match up with two BFF newcomers. The undefeated Jared Savea (5-0) takes on John Bravo (10-2). Both fighters are under new management. Savea seems to have embraced the change while Brovo seems to be having a tough time adjusting, and I think that will be the difference here. While this would be a great match up to watch normally, I believe the demoralized Bravo will not have the will to stand up to the power Savea brings to the ring.

Savea by KO in round 1

We finish off the main card with a middleweight fight between Moe Lester (8-3) and Tommy Robinson (7-3). Lester holds a slight edge in muay thai and will most likely try to take advantage of that in any way he can, but Robinson can handle himself. Robinson holds all the cards in this one and looks dominate. Robinson wins this one any way he wants.

Robinson by KO in round 2

The Co-main event is a lightweight match up with Bull Mfer (9-2) taking on Andrey "Vano" Ivanov (1-2). Mfer is a dangerous clinch fighter that is well rounded and can handle himself in all aspects of the game. While Ivanov is a competent stand up fighter, he could be a threat on the ground due to his black belt in BJJ. However, despite holding a black belt he has yet to force anyone to tap out. Even if Ivanov manages to get this one to the mat Mfer will hold his own. Mfer wins this one in the clinch.

Mfer by TKO in round 1

And we cap off the night with the Main Event, a battle of the ages. The veteran Mark Lesnar (17-4) takes on the up and coming youngster Kento Kawamata (4-1) in the heavyweight division. Kawamata has caught everybody's attention and may have what it takes to go all the way to a title match. But he will have to get through Lesnar first and Lesnar is a machine that will grind you up in his gears and spit you out. Lesnar, a ground and pound specialist will most definitely be trying to get to the ground. Kawamata still has a lot to prove but I believe he has what it takes to overcome his opponents experience and will get the W here.

Kawamata by KO in round 1

And that will conclude another great night of fights. Should be an exciting night so don't forget to get your tickets now before they sell out!

BUDOKAI FF 63: HILL VS. INUZUKA III

MAIN CARD PREVIEW

BROUGHT TO YOU BY JACK LaBEAR

This Saturday Budokai Fighting Federation comes to the Saku Dome for BFF 63: Hill vs. Inuzuka III. BFF has a wild ride planned for us, filled with thrills and disappointments as three great champions compete on one card. Title belts in two divisions will be on the line as the fighters enter the ring tonight but let's not get ahead of ourselves. Let's start off with the meat of the card, after the undercard bouts.

The main card starts off with a welterweight bout that pits the boxing skills of Kyle Austin (7-2) against the dangerous ground game of "The Mad Monk" Frank Martin (8-11). The Mad Monk had a disappointing debut here at BFF two weeks ago, perhaps the move to the ring from a cage had an effect. Austin looks strong and at first glance looks like he has this one wrapped up, but looking a little deeper I'm not so sure. Austin hasn't had a fight in almost two years (tycoon time) and is attempting a comeback with a new manager. I tried to go to the gym to take a look at him but couldn't find him registered to train anywhere. I just don't see how a fighter that hasn't fought in two years, isn't training, has new manager, and lower morale than his opponent wins.

Martin by submission in round one

Next is another welterweight match up with the undefeated Dylan Peterson (7-0) taking on Hiro Takahashi (3-1). Peterson is a ground and pound specialist that no one has been able to stand up to, but Takahashi has awesome striking defense and has some ground skills of his own. Takahashi will most likely try to use his Muay Thai advantage to score some points in the stand up before the fight ultimately ends up on the mat. With ten minute rounds I think that Peterson comes out on top here, I don't think Takahashi can withstand the type of beating he will be getting and Peterson will continue his climb to the top.

Peterson by TKO in round two

A quick word from our sponsor. Bee Krazy clothing company in Tokyo brings you all the newest designs in fighter wear and is the only place to get “official” Budokai Fighting Federation gear, so don't be fooled by imitations.

We continue the main card with a light heavyweight match with Early Grayce (10-1) facing Schael Walker (5-1). This will be a great stand up verses ground game battle, Walker is a powerful striker and Grayce is another highly effective ground and pound fighter. Walker is a true artist at the stand up game both in and out of the clinch, but has yet to prove himself on the ground. It will not be an easy task for Grayce to get Walker to the ground and he will most likely be getting beaten badly in the stand up. But he has strong take downs and if he get past the first two minutes he wins this one.

Grayce by TKO in round one

The final fight on the main card is another light heavyweight fight with Bryan Schaub (15-4) taking on the long time BFF veteran Eddie Nordon (7-6). Schaub is a true master at submissions, he has an incredible 14 submission victories. Nordon will be desperately trying to keep this one standing, but that will be a tall order and this one probably goes to the ground where a submission victory for Schaub almost seems like a certainty. But it seems like every fight card always has an unexpected upset and that's what I think we'll see here as Nordon grapples his way out of danger over and over to take home a decision.

Nordon by decision

The main events of the night will both be non stop action. We will see our champion in the light heavyweight put his belt on the line in thirty minutes of grueling battle. Then we will see a special event in the super heavyweight division in another thirty minute fight that will determine who will take home the belt. These fights are going to keep you on the edge of you seats, but just relax and don't forget to take a breath every now and then.

The Co-main event is in the light heavyweight division, Jesse Kilpatrick (11-2) will be defending his belt against Ceaser "The Mighty" El Toro Jr (8-1). El Toro already holds the middleweight belt but wants to expand his trophy case by taking the light heavyweight belt as well. Kilpatrick may have something to say about that, he is an awesome wrestler with unrivaled ground and pound skills and will be making his second title defense. After three successful title defenses in the middleweight division, El Toro is now looking to step up and prove he is the master of two divisions. Perhaps having Budokai's 2018 fighter of the year trophy sitting on his shelve has gone to El Toro's head, his arrogance proves to be his downfall here.

Kilpatrick by TKO in the second

Two of the best wrestlers in MMA today will step into the ring in the super heavyweight division for the Main Event with the winner taking home the belt. Mark "The Hitman" Hill (16-3) faces Kaito "Mad Dog" Inuzuka (16-4) in what should be another great ground battle. Hill holds an edge in the stand up and may look to score some points there, but the real battle here will be fought on the ground. Hill likes to beat his opponents to near death, and Inuzuka has shown he can force anyone to tap as his 16 submission victories show. This is the third time these fighters have faced each other with each winning one. I think this one is a toss up and could go either way, but I'll go with Hill. I believe his weight advantage will work in his favor again.

Hill by TKO in the second

And that concludes another great fight card from BFF. There are still a couple tickets available so act now before you end up paying a scalper five grand.

BUDOKAI 74 Preview by Gut Punch

Edited by Rei

Budokai once again brings a stacked card to the Saku Dome in Tokyo on June 8th, with both the welterweight and heavyweight belts on the line. This card brings a wide mix of fighters, from contenders who are trying to earn a shot at a title, to men who are just trying to stay in the organization. Let’s break it down, starting with the Prelims:

Prelim Bout 1

Featherweight Division

JoJo “Big Party” Diaz (5-4-1) vs Henry “The Taco Bell Strangler” Wallace (9-9)

Both fighters have been in Budokai their whole careers, with Diaz having one fight in the QFC and Wallace having six. Diaz won his Budokai debut back in July of last year. Diaz then went on to win four of his next five, with one draw. However, Diaz his lost his last three fights, by Submission, Decision, and TKO. While Diaz attempts to break this streak, Henry Wallace is attempting to start one, as Wallace is 9-9 in his career, and is 4-8 in Budokai. Initially looked at by managers as a prospect with a granite chin, 6 of Wallace’s losses have been by (T)KO, leaving many to question his heart. Regardless, Wallace is a threat standing up, ith 8 of his wins coming by (T)KO. However, Given JoJo Diaz’s KO power and Wallace’s questionable chin history, I give the bout to Diaz.

Prediction: Diaz, R1 KO

Prelim Bout 2

Welterweight Division

“The Mad Monk” Frank Martin (8-13) vs Austin Smith (5-1-1)

The Mad Monk is a three fight Budokai veteran, and long time veteran of LoL and FARTMMA. Martin is known for taking almost any challenge thrown at him- nearly all of his fights outside of Budokai have been openweight, facing opponents up to 70 lbs, outweighing him by 90 pounds. All of his victories in MMA have come via submission, and all but two of his losses have come by (T)KO. His opponent, Austin Smith, is making his promotional debut, after having served in PhoQus previously, and served as their Welterweight champion at one point. He’s looking to bounce back from his previous match, where he suffered his first loss in a title defense. While Martin is older, Smith has that chip on his shoulder to bounce back in a new organization.

Prediction: Smith, R2 Sub

Prelim Bout 3

Bantamweight Division

“The Boss” Motoso Angostura (7-3-1) vs “La Unicorn” Santiago Junior (5-3-1)

Both of these fighters are known for keeping fights standing and throwing down. Motoso is a former Bantamweight champion for Budokai, and has only had losses in Budokai to the current champion, Seamus MacNamara. His last fight ended in a draw, and won fight of the night. His opponent “La Unicorn” suffered three straight losses in Budokai, but has revitalized his career with two wins and a draw. This may be the most exciting fight of the Prelims. Don’t expect this one to go to decision.

Prediction: Angostura, R1 (T)KO

Prelim Bout 4

Heavyweight Division

Ross Kemp (10-5) vs “The Surgeon” Leonid Martinyuk (5-2)

Kemp is another former Budokai champion attempting to work his way back to a title shot. He is 9-5 in the org, and he has never been in a fight that wasn’t stopped via KO. This is also true for his opponent, who has never seen a fight outside of the first round. This promises to be another action packed, KO stoppage.

Prediction: Martinyuk, R1 (T)KO

Prelim Bout 5

Featherweight Division

Dvornoy Alkash (3-2) vs Hitoshi Yoshida (7-1)

One of the younger match ups on the card, both men are 23 and looking to establish themselves in the organization. This one is a classic Stand Up vs Ground Game match up. Yoshida has 6 organizational wins, with 4 of them coming by submission, while Alkash has won 1 fight via KO, and 2 fights by decision. Alkash will look to use his superior Muay Thai and try to keep the fight standing, as Alkash’s weakness comes on the ground, with both of his losses being via Sub. Alkash will have the crowd behind him as he fights in his hometown, and looks to use the Fanatical fans at the Tokyo Dome to his advantage.

Prediction: Yoshida, R2 Sub

Main Card Bout 1

Lightweight Division

“Lightning” Lamont Banner (9-4) vs Ryan Rodriguez (7-3)

Rodriguez is another fighter who rarely lets the fight get to the ground, with a KO being the result of every bout he’s been in. The Southampton native and former DropKick Cage Warriors champion looks to extend his winning streak after winning his last fight against Gustav Gustavsson. Banner on the other hand, is looking for another chance at the Budokai Lightweight belt, after losing a decision in a title shot 4 fights ago. Lamont is known for standing as well but is more of a risk taker when it comes to taking the fight to the ground, and has both a submission win and loss. He will likely look to use his Brown Belt in BJJ to take down Rodriguez, however, he’ll have to watch out for Ryan’s KO Power.

Prediction: Rodriguez, R2 KO

Main Card Bout 2

Super Heavyweight Division

Kaito “Mad Dog” Inuzuka (18-5) vs Mark Lesnar (17-6)

Lesnar is a former island org champion, as well as an Ultimate Combat Federation champion. Inuzuka, on the other hand, is a former Budokai champion. Incredibly, Inuzuka is outweighed by Lesnar by nearly 100 pounds. However Mad Dog is no stranger to larger opponents, and in his last match submitted a 319 pound opponent. In fact, Mad Dog won the Budokai Title against a 260 pound opponent. Lesnar has the size and power advantage, but he will have to look out for Inuzuka’s submission skills.

Prediction: Inuzuka, R1 Sub

Main Card Bout 3

Championship Bout

Heavyweight Division

Kento Kawamata (7-1) vs Kay “Horizontal Kiss” Bone (14-2)

Kawamata is defending his title for the first time, after beating Felix Inarritu. Inarritu had previously beat Kay Bone to win the title. MMA math doesn’t always tell the story, and this is a grudge match of sorts to determine who is the most worthy of the Championship. Bone is the more experienced fighter, with 16 fights under his belt. Kawamata is in his home country, and has exception Muay Thai. Both fighters are generally stand up fighters, with Bone having the reach advantage.

Prediction: Kawamata, R2 KO

Co-Main Event

Championship Bout

Welterweight Division

Stanley “The Knife” Steele (12-3) vs Dylan Peterson (9-0)

Stanley Steele has defended his title twice, and is facing perhaps his toughest competitor thus far. Peterson is undefeated, and has excellent boxing. He has finished every fight via TKO. Stanley Steele has the experience advantage, as well as a granite chin. Peterson’s perfect record may come at a disadvantage. Peterson hasn’t even been rocked in a fight. How will he handle a good boxer with better Muay Thai? How will he handle adversity? This has the potential to be the best fight on the card, and an instant classic.

Prediction: Steele, R2 KO

Main Event

Championship Bout

Super Heavyweight Division

Samuel "Bodo" Nti (19-3) vs. Phil "Testosterone" Coleman (16-2)

One of the most popular fighters in the world returns as Samuel Nti looks to defend his belt for a second time as he meets The Island standout Phil Coleman. The Champion comes into this with a striking a significant striking advantage despite being primarily a wrestler, as Coleman is a grappler through and through with respectable boxing skills. Both men boast incredible records with many more wins to their names than losses, but both have been finished before - meaning the man that imposes his will upon the other may just claim the belt before the final bell.

Prediction: Nti, R1 KO

Angostura is rocked!

Junior lunges in with a left hook that violently twists Angostura head around and knocks him out cold! Junior hops onto the ropes and yells out at the top of his lungs - Yeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaah! They're showing the replay on the big screens now; that was nasty! I hope one of the photographers got a good shot of it.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Santiago Junior!
After the fight, Santiago Junior was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.

Alright motherfuckers, for over a year now I have been winning, and winning and winning some more. I'm 10-0 in the best 330k org in the game and hold titles in 2 divisions and have successfully defended both. Apparently that's not enough to stand out as a future or current star. Apparently you have to have a personality and talk a lot too. What is this? Fucking pro wrestling? So here I am. If you are in the 145 or 155 lb division, get to training and get in line for me to whip your candy ass like I have so many fighters before you. Consider me the new Conor McGregor, except that I don't lose to mid-carders.

I did it again, just like I said I would. Latest victim: Conor Larkin.

How TF was I not the co-main event on this card??? No respect I tell ya. Mr. Rei, you keep lining them up, and I'll keep knocking them down. If no one can give me a challenge at 145 or 155, maybe I'll have to become a 3 division champ. Who wants some? McNamara or Steele? I'll take on both in a triple threat match if you want.

BUDOKAI 76: NTI VS. LESNAR PREVIEW

BY GUT PUNCH

Prelim Bout

Welterweight Division

Santino Lombardo (1-1) vs Mario “The Artist” Rossi (7-4)

Santino is making his promotional debut as a highly anticipated prospect. Beginning training at 16, Santino is levels ahead most people at his age level. At only 20 years of age, he has been said to have “sensational” Muay Tha and Wrestling, and has a purple belt in BJJ. His opponent Rossi is 3-3 in Budokai, but has faced some of the orgs best, including Dylan Peterson twice, and Max Chaos. There certainly hasn’t been an easy fight for Rossi, which will prepare him well for this fight.

Prediction: Lombardo, Decision

Prelim Bout

Lightweight Division

Chief “Little” Bull (11-13) vs Arlo “Flower Power” Rochester (2-3)

Rochester is attempting to start a new chapter of his career with his first fight at Budokai, while Chief Little Bull is fighting to stay in it. Arlo is a veteran of Phoqus, going 1-1 in the organization. He seems to display powerful hands, with both of his victories coming via KO. He looked outclassed in his last match up, and is looking for a fresh start in Budokai. His opponent was at one point ranked 261st P4P in the world, but has since fallen off. Originally an island fighter, he held a belt for Beach Fights. Since getting off the island, however, Chief Little Bull has gone 3-7, with most of his fights being in GAMMA: DUEL. Bull is looking for his first victory in Budokai, having lost all 4 of his fights in the org thus far. However, Bull has experience and age on Rochester, which makes this a compelling fight.

Prediction: Rochester, R2 KO

Prelim Bout

Welterweight Division

Evan Grantham (1-2) vs “The Mad Monk” Frank Martin (8-14)

Grantham is a young prospect entering his third fight under the Budokai banner. Thus far, he has gone 1-1 in the organization, with a KO Victory and a decision loss. In his KO victory, Evan won “KO of the night” for the event. His coach has described him as a “decent boxer” with an amazing gas tank, and it will be interesting to see if Evan uses his cardio and attempts to win a decision. His opponent, “The Mad Monk,” is looking for his first win in Budokai. Martin is a veteran of LoL, and faced incredibly difficult competition during the entire tournament- most notably tournament semi finalist, Winchester Blackard. Martin looks to use his experience to his advantage, and defeat his younger opponent.

Prediction: Grantham, R2 KO

Main Card Bout

Lightweight Division

AB Positive (9-2) vs Gasan “Novichok.” Yakolev (8-6)

AB Positive is a former Budokai champion who was stripped of the title when he signed with another org, but has since returned to attempt and claim it again. In his return he is 1-1, losing his first fight back. Positive is a Muay Thai specialist but has 1 submission victory to his name. Gasan is a Budokai veteran, with a 7-6 record in the organization. He has won every fight in Budokai via TKO, and seems to be swinging for the fences in every fight, with only 4 career fights entering the second round. However, he has recently switched managers, and may be fighting in a more cautious approach, with his only fight under his new manager a decision loss. He’ll have to watch his chin, as AB will most likely be looking to pressure him with the same intensity.

Prediction: AB Positive, R1 KO

Main Card Bout

Featherweight Division

“El Peligroso” Calixto Cardona (8-3) vs Dwayne King (8-5)

El Peligroso, or “Dangerous,” is a former MMAHelsinki champion, and King is a former DropKick Cage Warriors champion. These two have faced off before, with King winning the fight via TKO in the first round. The fight was a brawl from the get go, with King sustaining a cut within two minutes of the bell, but persevered to know his opponent out. El Peligroso has been anxiously awaiting a rematch, and is looking to be the fourth straight loss for King. King, however, is just as eager to get back into the ring with him, with the confidence that he has finished him off before.

Prediction: Cardona, Decision

Main Card Bout

Welterweight Division

Jackson “Jacool” Boone (11-5) vs Bo Nickal (8-3)

Both of these fighters are former Budokai Welterweight Champions attempting to return to former glory. Both have lost to current champion, Stanley Steele. Jacool has been in Budokai nearly his whole career, with the exception of his first fight. He has gone 10-5 in the org, and has proved to be a consistent title challenger. Nickal was the MMA Helsinki champion at the time of their closing, and was promptly awarded with a title shot at his new org, which he won, but failed to defend. Both fighters have it all on the line, with the pressures of being eliminated as a title competitor if they fail to grab a victory- this one should be a classic.

Prediction: Nickal, Decision

Co-Main Event

Super Heavyweight Division

Phil “Testosterone” Coleman (16-3) vs Kaito “Mad Dog” Inuzuka (18-6)

“Testosterone” Coleman was one of the best fighters on the island this season, finishing his island run at 16-2, and winning 4 out of his 5 title shots/defenses. He was immediately given a title shot in Budokai, but lost via TKO in the second round to Samuel Nti. Testosterone has a notable weight advantage over Inuzuka, outweighing him by 50 lbs. However, Inuzuka isn’t one to back down from a challenge. After failing to make the 2020 Olympics wrestling team, Inuzuka decided to start an mma career and joined the LoL tournament. Mad Dog did quite well in the tournament, going 14-3 overall. This one is a classic striker vs grappler, and the fight largely depends on who can turn the momentum first.

Prediction: Coleman, R2 KO

Main Event

Championship Bout

Super Heavyweight Division

Samuel “Bodo” Nti (20-3) vs Mark Lesnar (18-6)

Bodo has one of the most impressive records in MMA right now, with a 20-3 record. He has also avenged 2 out of his 3 losses by defeating those opponents in rematches. Every single fight he has been apart of has ended in a TKO/KO. Nti was the runner up in the LoL tournament, losing in the finals to Mark Hill via Cut. He has since beat Hill in a title defense. Mark Lesnar is a former D1 wrestler, whose last victory came over former champion Mad Dog Inuzuka. Lesnar started off as an island fighter, and has gone 5-4 since leaving. Lesnar has a noticeable reach advantage, which may play in his favor as Nti will want to stand and throw. Lesnar will look to use his wrestling to bring the fight to the ground and use some ground and pound, but Nti will attempt to use his clinchwork to neutralize the D1 Wrestling abilities of Lesnar. This should be a thrilling fight from start to finish, that looks to be a war.

Prediction: Nti, R1 KO

Balder Bull: The bull is back! I know what you all think. I couldn't handle a loss and crashed my whole career once it happened. And you are right, the success went to my head and I couldn't handle losing that belt. And not only my career, my private life as well. I started drinking, drugs, broke with my manager. Dragged my name in the dirt by doing fixed fights and.. even show wrestling for a while, silly costumes and all. I needed the money, simple as that.

But my old manager Mac came to me a while ago. Asked me "you done yet?". Said if I quit all the shit I been doing right there on the spot and get back to proper training he'd take me back again*. He already had a fight booked for me, just two days away so I had no choice but getting my shit together. A minor promotion, but nothing minor about the opponent. Alvarez had over 50 fights and still going strong. I barely had time to sober up. I lost of course, on points as he was taking me to the mat. But that fight woke something inside of me. Third round I was taking over and won that one. Afterwards he was the one looking beat up no matter the scores, I know I would have won had it been five rounds. That's what Mac wanted to see.. or wanted me to see.

The next two guys he lined up I went straight through and won in the first round, just like the good old days. I believe in myself again now. I know I still got it. So Mr. Rei, I want back in. I know I still got fans in Tokyo. Those guys are fantastic, they never gave up on me. They deserve to see the real Bull in the ring again.

* Thanks Winger for releasing from sparring duty and letting me take him back

It's a pleasure homeboy! I never wanted to do that to his career but at-least he has a story to follow up ;) #BaldersBack

On the 6th of July, the Saku Dome in downtown Tokyo will play host to the opening round of an extraordinary multi-continental, dual-divisional event like no other as the Twin Crown Tournament kicks off. Attempting to build up excitement in anticipation of the tournament, Budokai have put together week of fun beginning with a press conference led by company boss Rei.
1BSPbDW.png
"Hello and welcome everyone to this wonderful evening in beautiful Tokyo. I am excited to announce that we at Budokai Fighting Federation have a bunch of delightful things in the pipeline, some of which we will be revealing today. First off, as you know, the Twin Crown Tournament begins next weekend in which sixteen fighters from Bantamweight and Middleweight battle it out to earn a shot at the dominant Champions Seamus MacNamara and Ceaser El Toro Jr-"
As if summoned out of thin air, on stage appeared Seamus with an entourage of Irish hooligans. Drunk off all their arse's from some of the finest sake Japan has to offer, they decided to make their presence known. Sporting an Irish flag colored kimono & two beautiful Japanese women in each arm (both of which were significantly taller than him) he snatched one of the microphones and spat "You fooks got no chance. Do ya see tis footwork? Eh? Do ya see tis head movement? Eh?" Seamus then proceeded to stumble around in the most least athletic way possible, to the audience's cheers. "None ah ya gobshites can fookin' touch me!". Immediately after, Seamus fell face first, passed out drunk. His crew carried him out with a trail of piss following behind.

Pa66C1r.png
"Well, thanks Seamus for that errr, unique announcement. As you already know, both El Toro Jr. and Seamus will be around for interviews this week as well as fan meet and greets, although it might be a good idea to wait until tomorrow to begin those after what we just witnessed. Other notable Budokai fighters will also be in attendance, so be sure to keep an eye out!"
During the various media scrums, a fired up El Toro was heard saying "Nos entrenamos para pelear nuestra lucha, lo que hacen ellos. No tememos a ningún hombre. Traeré una energía tan brillante como el sol en la noche de la lucha. Espero que estés listo!"
67XBHrz.png
"Next, we at Budokai would like to announce that we will begin inducing fighters into our official Hall of Fame. Despite being a young promotion, we have come a long way and have already crowned over 40 unique Champions. As such, we are looking forward to giving some of our greatest fighters the respect they have earned and our first inductee will be announced in the coming days."

L6LexdO.png
"A brand new episode of Fighters in Focus will be coming out too, where we get an in-depth look into the mind of double-champion Vadim Golovkin."

iX607Cf.png
"Finally, we will be bringing back the Rei's Rankings segment, set to be updated after every event."
"Thank you everyone for your time. I hope you look forward to what we have in the works, and be sure to stick around and witness our community events going on such as amateur kickboxing and BJJ tournaments."

Budokai kicks off the historic Twin Crown tournament, which features fighters from all across the world in a dual division event in which fighters compete for the chance to get a title shot against Bantamweight champion Seamus Macnamara and Middleweight champion Caesar El Toro Jr. The Saku Dome will host the event as 16 hopeful Bantamweights and Middleweights put it all on the line. The card will also feature a heavyweight bout, and a Superheavyweight championship bout. First, a look into the Bantamweight fights:

#1 Disco Kid (11-5) vs “La Killer Unicorn” Santiago Junior (6-3-1)

The breakdown-

Hometown: New York City, US ------- Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

Fighting out of: London ----- London

Height: 164 cm ----- 177 cm

Age: 23 ----- 23

Specialty: Wrestling ----- Boxing

Disco Kid is no stranger to Seamus Macnmara. He previously lost his Championship belt in MMAHelsinki to Macnamara, and lost his last fight to Macnamara as well. It could be said that Kid wants this rematch more than anyone else in the field, as he has a shot at redemption. Winning the title from Macnamara would be much needed vindication for Kid, and most likely the highlight of his career.

Santiago Junior, on the other hand, has been on a terror recently, having three wins in his last four fights with one draw. Junior has reinvented his career after losing three in a row in Budokai, and nearly being shown the door. However, he has proven that he is as hungry for the title shot as anyone else, having won “fight of the night” in his last three fights.

#2 Yeu Fei (10-4) vs “The Prospector” My Time (6-0)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Anyang, China ----- Atlin, BC, Canada

Fighting out of: New York ----- London

Height: 184 cm ----- 176 cm

Age: 30 ----- 22

Specialty: Muay Thai ----- Muay Thai

Yeu Fei is a former Budokai Featherweight champion. After losing his belt, he dropped further to bantamweight and moved to MMAHelsinki, where he lost a title shot to Disco Kid. If both Kid and Fei win, we’ll see a rematch next round. The highlight of his career has come in his first title defense, in which he knocked out Alex Stern in the first round.

My Time is an undefeated prospect, and one of the brightest young fighters in Budokai. Time is 6-0, having fought 4 times in Jag Battle League before entering this tournament. He has Ko’d every opponent except Future Winger, in which he fought to a decision victory. Time looks to use his heavy hands to continue his undefeated streak, all the way to a challenge shot.

#3 Uramoto Sussue (3-0) vs Hratch Tzien (1-1)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Rocinha, Brazil ----- Kadwan, Burma

Fighting out of: Montreal ----- Las Vegas

Height: 163 cm ----- 170 cm

Age: 21 ------ 21

Specialty: Wrestling ----- Muay Thai

Uramato Sussue has never had a fight in a major org, and his first fight will be against a fellow newcomer to the org. He has shown an ability to win fights both standing up and on the ground. Sussue has been known to be extremely confident in his abilities, and has generally been the aggressor in most of his fights.

Hratch Tzien, otherwise known as “The Burmese Python,” is a striking sensation. Tzien lost his last fight via submission, but has spent an extensive amount of time training his ground abilities. Known for his good chin, This will be Tzien’s hardest challenge yet.

#4 “Red Ribbon Army’s” Android Ten (4-7) vs “The Boss” Motoso Angostura (7-4-1)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Arundel, US -----Bucaramanga, Colombia

Fighting out of: New York ----- Los Angeles

Height: 160 cm ----- 170 cm

Age: 22 ----- 23

Specialty: Boxing ----- Muay Thai

Android Ten started his career at a promising 4-2, but has lost his last five fights. Three of those losses have come via submission. Android Ten is an original android that has a huge information database with exceptional processing capabilities, and hopes that this tournament will help turn his record around.

The Boss was one of Budokai’s rising stars who has hit some troubled waters recently, after losing his Budokai Bantamweight belt to Macmara, The Boss has hit a skid, losing two out of his last three fights and fighting to one draw. However, the future still looks bright for The Boss, and many believe he can return to his former glory.

And now, for the Middleweights:

#1 Rogerio De Souza (9-8) vs Max “Captain” Chaos (12-5)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Rio De Janeiro, Brazil ----- Sydney, Australia

Fighting out of: Rio De Janeiro ----- London

Height: 190 cm ----- 180 cm

Age: 23 ----- 23

Specialty: BJJ ----- Wrestling

De Souza is a premier grappler in the MMA world. While he has never had a pure grappling match, all nine of his wins come via submission. He has only been submitted himself once, during a title shot against Caesar El Toro Jr., earlier this year. After picking up another excellent submission win since then, De Souza is looking to Nap, Snap, or Tap his way to another title shot.

Captain Chaos is a premier prospect in Budokai’s Welterweight division. Chaos puts his prospect status on the line in a true test of heart and determination by attempting to claim the middleweight belt. Naturally weighing 180 lbs, Chaos hopes that his lack of a weight cut will make him more rested than his competitors. Chaos has shown the ability to put people to sleep with his stand up and his ground game, with three Ko’s and seven submission victories.

#2 Christopher “Mr. Takedown” Blackburn (4-1) vs Ikemba Onazi (3-1)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Freetown, Sierra Leon ----- Awka, Senegal

FIghting out of: Los Angeles ----- Las Vegas

Height: 182 cm ----- 193 cm

Age: 22 ----- 21

Specialty: Wrestling ----- Muay Thai

Mr. Takedown has his nickname for good reason- he has taken down nearly every opponent he’s faced with ease. Only Theophile Bonnet hasn’t felt Blackburn’s Ground and Pound, as he managed to win via decision. Make no mistake, even when opponents know Blackburn’s strategy, they still find it difficult to defend against him. This is his first true test, and his first fight in Budokai.

Onazi is one of the strongest, biggest fighters in the Middleweight division, and stuns people every time he makes weight. The incredibly strong Onazi forced his first opponent in MMA to retire after KOing him with a head kick. Always dangerous yet still unproven, Onazi looks to show the rest of the middleweight division who the next top prospect is.

#3 Scott Hill (6-4) vs John “Johnny” Lawrence (7-2)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Lincoln, Nebraska ----- Los Angeles, CA

Fighting out of: Los Angeles ----- Las Vegas

Height: 185 cm ----- 180 cm

Age: 21 ----- 21

Specialty: BJJ ----- BJJ

Hill was the inaugural Anti Championship Berkut Middleweight champion, which closed before he had the chance to defend it. He also challenged for the DSC belt but lost via submission to Sam Rinaldi. Hill is making his first appearance inside the Budokai ring, and many wonder how he’ll fair.

Johnny Lawrence is 3-1 in Budokai, and all seven of his career wins have come via submission. training at the Cobra Kai dojo at a young age, Lawrence imagines each opponent to be his lifelong enemy, Daniel Larusso. So far the strategy has worked for Lawrence, as he has only lost twice in his career.

#4 Luiz Franca (10-5) vs Dragomir “Drago” Savic (2-1)

The Breakdown-

Hometown: Sao Paolo, Brazil ----- Dragobuzde, Serbia

Fighting out of: Sydney ----- London

Height: 188 cm ----- 186 cm

Age: 30 ------ 20

Specialty: Wrestling ----- Boxing/Muay Thai

Franca is a long time Budokai competitor, and has had two title shots but lost both via KO. Franca is looking for redemption, and has gone 7-5 in one of Budokai’s toughest divisions. He has shown his excellent ground skills, with seven victories coming via submission. Franca is the oldest and most experienced fighter in the Middleweight tournament, and looks to use that to his advantage.

Drago Savic is one of Budokai’s brightest unproven prospects. AT just 20 years old with only three fights to his name, Savic has shown glimpses of Sensational Boxing and Muay Thai, and a solid ground game to match. Training at Dr. Hatsumi’s Clinic, which hosts six current champions in other divisions, most notably Pablo Maracon and Esteban San Pedro. Regardless of his performance in the Middleweight tournament, the future looks very bright for Savic.

Bonus fights on the card:

Superheavyweight Division

Phil “Testosterone” Coleman (17-3) vs Mark Lesnar (18-7)

The breakdown-

Hometown: New York, NY ----- Minneapolis, MN

Fighting out of: London ----- London

Height: 188 cm ----- 185 cm

Age: 27 ----- 30

Specialty: Wrestling ----- Wrestling

“Testosterone” Coleman is a bodybuilder and former NCAA wrestler who began his MMA career on a mysterious island. After dominating nearly every opponent on the island, he was given an immediate title shot in Budokai, which he lost in a close third round. Looking to receive another title shot, Coleman bounced back in his last fight with a first round KO victory.

Lesnar is also a former NCAA wrestler with an extensive background on the island. In fact, Lesnar was at one point coached by the same manager as Coleman. Now under new management, Lesnar is also coming off of a title shot loss to current champ Samuel Nti. Lesnar is one of the most popular fighters in Budokai, and fans across the world want to see him get another shot at glory.

And lastly, the main event-

Championship Bout

Heavyweight Division

Kay “Horizontal Kiss” Bone (15-2) vs “el dragon” Felix Inarritu (11-2)

The breakdown-

Hometown: Coleraine, Northern Ireland ----- Madrid, Spain

Fighting out of: London ----- Los Angeles

Height: 215 cm ----- 200 cm

Age: 23 ----- 23

Specialty: Boxing ----- Boxing

Horizontal Kiss is one of the most exciting fighters in Budokai. Almost every time he fights, the crowd anticipates a Knock out. Bone has held the title twice, first losing his belt to the current challenger, but reclaiming it against Kento Kawamata. This stands as his only loss in Budokai, and Bone looks to extend this streak with another KO victory.

Felix Inarritu stands as the only man in Budokai to have beaten Kay Bone, which has to help his confidence going into this fight. Felix is one of the most well rounded fighters in the Division, but generally chooses to stand and bang, with all 11 of his victories coming by KO, and all but one of them ending in the first round. This fight is exactly what the fans want, to see two brawlers get after it. Don’t go anywhere folks, this fight may be over quickly with an exciting KO by either man.
