Top Fighter Zain Wu

ICON Profile:

Drew Bee is a very hands-on manager, who whilst he has not been around for as long as any managers in this alliance, is right up there with the most effective. As a rookie, he had a staggering record, not a single one of his fighters was defeated for a 25 fight streak! I challenge you to find a manager with a record like that. He is yet to manage a fighter to a belt, but we can all agree just by looking at his record that a belt is a matter of when rather than if. Drew’s top fighter Zain Wu, encompasses all the values which Drew’s fighters have come to define themselves by, he is a dynamic finisher with a very strong wrestling background. Drew has clearly realised that wrestling is extremely important at the highest levels of the game, even if it is only used as a defence mechanism in the sprawl and brawl style that his fighters use to such devastating effect.

A good manager always recruits well, and Drew has shown this by adding to his ranks with powerful wrestler Dwayne James and talented Kickboxer Mark Jack. Savvy recruitment and tactics have earned Drew a place in the top 100 managers in the world of MMA, peaking at 78, Drew now sits at a handsome 101st best manager in the world.

Drew has also shown what all businessmen need, a ruthless streak. After rookie fighter Randall Nelson got caught in a kneebar by uncontracted fighter Julian Drotski, Drew showed him the door the very next day.

Drew has already given much to the MMA world, and we are excited to see what more he will contribute in the future, his fighters love to finish fights, and it’s only a matter of time before one of them brings home the belt he so craves.

Top Fighter Wooden Pencil

ICON Profile:

This man really needs no introduction, the FOUNDER of the ICON Alliance and somebody who is already one of the most decorated managers in the history of the sport.

Steel Penn a true leader of men has earned many awards for his contributions to the sport not limited to his own fighters. He has been very committed to Philanthropy as recognised when he won the yearly award in both 2013 and 2014, as well as awards for contributions to nutrition. Steel’s Organisation – Steel Penn ICON, has also been ranked as no.1 in the city of Hilo and 15th in the world, impressive for a man who is also managing world champions. A true ambassador of Tycoon MMA, Steel Penn’s trophy cabinet would have been enough to sink the titanic on its own.

Steel Penn’s journey started successfully; but not necessarily spectacularly, as he started with an extremely strong win:loss ratio, but managed some seriously decision prone fighters such as Bringer of Hype, Hype Raiser and Hi Howareyou.

All of this would start to change however; as Penn started ditchin the fitchin and started to produce more exciting fighters with deadly strikers and submission artist alike. Perhaps the greatest symbol of this change was at SPFT 6 back on 9th March in 2013, when Penn’s best fighter to date; Wooden Pencil, became the first of Penn’s fighters to both fight in a title fight and win a world championship. It all began with that fateful left hook to the jaw of Bambang Ridwan. Wooden Pencil still holds the Hardcore Montreal Fight League World Championship today, often winning with dynamic knockouts.

Steel Penn would go on to produce other World Champions such as The Avenger of Steel Penn and Freddy Steel in an era of time where he produced various types of fighters, who between them competed in of 50 title matches. That is an incredible achievement for a manager. To give some idea of his versatility as a manager, Penn’s fighters have amassed between them over 50 wins by submission, decision and knockout.

Steel Penn will be looking to add to his trophy cabinet as a manager and possibly break the top 100 managers in the world this year. However it appears his larger goal for this year is to help the ICON Alliance become the most powerful Alliance in the world of Tycoon MMA. And who would bet against him?

Long Live Steel Penn!

Top Fighter Tony Sassano Jnr

ICON Profile:

Tony Sassano is a manager who just plain and simple, knows how to get his fighters to win. His wins and losses ratio is terrific, as are his active fighter's. This man knows how to motivate his fighters, and can help them find ways to entertain as well as win. Not many managers look after their fighters as well as this man. His son Tony Sassano Jr. is an embodiment of everything his father’s philosophy stands for.

Sassano Jr. is often seen wearing top of the range suits and has an excellent fashion sense, but like his father; when it comes to business, he can get it done, and in a variety of different ways. Sassano Jr has just one loss, but he has slick submissions, strong knockout ability, as well as the ability to grind a fight out.

Tony Sr. knows how to get his fighters to look the part and act the part, and you can tell they are all very happy to be working with this Kingpin of the fight world, and they respect his ability to further their careers. He has even managed to manage one of his fighters; grinding wrestler Tyron Badass, to a championship belt, in a relatively short career.

Tony Sr. had to battle some serious adversity early in his managerial career, his fighters had lost 12 times in the first 15 fights of his managerial career. Many would’ve called it a day, however, Tony did not, he knew if he was patient he would eventually find a winning formula; his record of 78 wins and 14 losses since that time are proof he made the right decision if ever there was any. His career is on a serious upward trajectory, which shows no signs of slowing down; as he is moving up the managerial rankings at a fast pace currently at 73, the sky is the limit from here.

Top Fighter: Damian Hardacre

ICON Profile:

Ranked as the No.1 Manager in this awesome Alliance, Rocco Mediate is able to train his fighters to utterly dismantle their opponents, you need look no further than his record of 170 knockout victories credited to his fighters to see this. A veteran manager who knows how to get what he wants, Rooco’s fighters have been fighting for title belts since 2012, and they have not stopped since, which has allowed him to amass his extremely impressive record of 75 title fight wins.

Rocco knows what he’s doing in the big fights and if there’s one manager other manager’s fear when it comes to title fights, its Rocco. His most high profile champion “Smokin” Joe Frazier, the current Future Fighting heavyweight champion, is an absolute savage, not only boasting amazing boxing skills but savage power in his hands and feet.

Rocco will look to add to his already legendary record when the highly touted heavyweight Damian Hardacre, looks to take the Claymore Elite Combat Heavyweight Championship from current champion and world class knockout artist Jon Hess. That one is sure to bring fireworks.

Rocco has previously been ranked as high as the number 2 manager in the world and is still number 25. He is looking for that elusive no.1 spot, a feat achievable this year with the support of the motivated ICON alliance. Already likely to be named as one of the greatest managers of all times, he has a chance to shoot up the rankings if he can guide Hardacre to the Heavyweight championship in the 2nd best MMA organisation in the world.

Top Fighter: Marty Stephensson

ICON Profile:

A manager who’s fighters have a penchant for extreme knockouts, Mike Jursllla’s career has had its ups and downs, but the ups are always far more significant than the downs; a testament to the man’s ability to turn things around. After starting his career with 5 straight losses, Mike eventually managed to turn this around, culminating in his most successful run as a manager in 2015 where he was for a time ranked the number 3 manager in the world.

During this run, Mike managed to guide his fighters to a total of 39 title fights between them, gaining the record of having more than 25 title fight wins, a mean feat for any manager.

Mike’s top fighter is London born Heavyweight juggernaut, Marty Stephenson. A quick look at his record might lead you to believe he is a “knockout or be knocked out” type of fighter; however, it is clear that both he and his manager know exactly what they’re doing as Stephenson has never experienced two straight losses, showing that they always know what went wrong, and how to put it right. Stephenson has a penchant for landing head kick knockouts, with a scary amount of his wins coming this way, so watch out for this in his next fight.

Mike has fallen on hard times as of late, with his fighters losing 3 of their last four title fights and as a result he himself has fallen down the managerial rankings. However it would be beyond foolish to write him off, as he has proved more than once it is only a matter of time before he turns it around. He also has a very strong group of fighters including Stephenson, and recently crowned United States Fighting Welterweight Champion; submission specialist Arto “Stoneface” Blomsten. Both these fighters have had multiple title fights in their careers despite both only being 25 years old.

It is safe to say the future looks bright for Mike Jursllla, and it would be no surprise to see him and his fighters possessing some gold in the near future. He is another factor that with one of his signature turnarounds, can help the ICON Alliance reach the top of the game.

Top Fighter David Steel

ICON Profile:

Officially the 5th best manager in the ICON Alliance, Bronko has been around for a long time and is set in his ways. Those ways; however, are extremely effective. Bronko is not a fan of submission fighters, he is a fan of fighters who dominate and obliterate.

A product of his experience, Bronko knows which skillsets can get it done. His top fighter, elite light heavyweight and a former champion of two organisations; David Steel is an example of Bronko’s mentality, effectiveness first, knockouts second, flashy submissions a distant third. An exception to this rule was Urho Kekkonen, a one-dimensional submission artist who Bronko entered into the TWGC, the biggest grappling competition in Tycoon MMA.

Maybe the long-retired fighter serves as an example of why Bronko now implements a philosophy in his management which is not particularly inclusive of submission fighters =, as he lost his last three fights before retiring in 2013.

Bronko is in the top 100 managers in the world, and the way he operates clearly works at a very high level of Tycoon MMA. He is a staple of consistency, and never goes on the long losing runs which make you think a manager is losing his way. This guy is an example of what the other ICON managers need to aspire to in terms of maintaining a constant position inside the top 100, and consistently managing fighters to big victories.

Top Fighter: Sven Tveskabb

ICON Profile:

A Manager of multiple champions, The Philosopher has proven that he is up there with the very best managers in the game. The Swedish mastermind has a record of nearly three times as many wins as he has losses, that’s seriously impressive.

As the no.2 manager in ICON; second only to the unbelievable Rocco Mediate, The Philosopher will aspire great things in 2016. He will be looking to put more world titles around his fighter’s waist, climb even further up the managerial rankings and possibly even surpass his buddy Rocco as the top dog in ICON Alliance.

The Philosopher is a fan of knockouts, of his 164 wins, 108 of those have been knockouts by his fighters, however; he also shines as a tactician. His best fighter Sven Tveskabb, usually a knockout artist, is best known for his incredible trilogy with tough submission artist Jandre Vorster. After a close fight that ended in a narrow decision victory for Tveskabb for him to claim the Tradition Bantamweight Title. He then defended this title three time before dropping the belt to Vorster by first round submission. He was then given a rematch with just a month to prepare, and this was where his manager’s tactical nous was truly shown. Tveskabb absolutely dominated the fight, keeping it standing and winning a clear decision over Vorster. This was a display of The Philosopher’s knowledge of the game and adaptability. Sven is currently without a promotion or a fight and it will be very exciting to see what happens next.

Another exciting career to follow is the one of 21 year old finishing machine Yngve Stolt. “The Prince” debuted in 2015 and won a title in only his 4th professional fight and has gone 6-0. The current RIO Chain Gang Welterweight Champion is a scary fighter who has been prophesised to take over the Tycoon MMA world. Do not be surprised to see this man enter Pound for Pound conversations by the end of 2016. His lethal head kicks and boxing ability will take him far, and could really elevate his manager and the ICON Alliance.

All in all, a credit to the ICON Alliance, The Philosopher looks set to have a truly record breaking 2016 as a manager.

Top Fighter: Gegard Mousasi

ICON Profile:

A grizzled veteran manager of Tycoon MMA, Lockdown has fallen on some hard times as of late, but that does not take away from his achievements and experience. He has managed champions, including former light heavyweight starlet Gegard Mousasi, and has had over 50 wins in title fights, a record not to be sniffed at.

Formerly the no.6 ranked manager in the world, Lockdown will have plenty of value as a mentor to the less experienced managers; especially when it comes to managing fighters in title fights and difficult stylistic matchups, as Lockdown has shown great versatility in this area. Despite most of his fighters favouring knockouts/TKOs, Lockdown knows how to game plan for grappling, he has a winning record in the TWGC and his most successful fighter, Gegard Mousasi, is something of a master of submissions.

Lockdown is also very savvy when it comes to recruitment, he has made world champions out of several fighters that other managers have given up on, including Gegard Mousasi and heavyweight slugger Blood Bane. His motto of Life is hard if you are soft rings true often, as he releases fighters almost at will if they are performing badly or are uninspiring.

The challenge for Lockdown now as a manager is to get some younger talent on board, many of his best fighters are in their late 30s, with the aforementioned Mousasi and Bane having both lost their last two and undoubtedly reaching the end of their careers. Lockdown must either find this fighter from within his own ranks or perform another masterstroke and find the next Mousasi.

He can already help the Alliance as a presence behind the scenes, but he must now pick his own record up to be a true driving force behind their rise; with his fighters having lost 11 of their last 15 fights. Perhaps Lockdown can do worse than link up with former protégé and TWGC Light Heavyweight Division 2 finalist “The Outlaw” Haer Dalis who Lockdown inexplicably released whilst he was on a 3 fight win streak. The Outlaw has also fallen on hard times recently, losing his last 3 fights by TKO and has not fought in nearly a year. Still only 24, Dalis is a grappling machine, capable of taking down and controlling almost anyone on the ground. His striking deficiencies have been exposed, however if he and Lockdown were to reignite their relationship as fighter and manager, they could provide each other with the spark that both of their careers need.

We look forward to seeing what 2016 brings for this legend of the game, hopefully he finds a way to turn it around.

Hello to the people of the ICON Alliance, as your official writer I present to you the first ever ICON Interviews, this will be a continuous name on the threads that I stick you guy's interviews on. I will be aiming for one interview per week if I can. Don't be shy guys, all you gotta do is leave a PM and I can get you; or your fighter an interview. This was a transcript of the first ever interview with Michael Carter Smith. A fighter from our very own Tony Serritella. If you like the format; tell me, if you have any suggestions of how I can improve on this, tell me as well. Here it is:

Hey guys, first off I would like to welcome you to our first ever edition of ICON Interviews. On each edition we will be presenting a member of the ICON Alliance, either a fighter or a manager and we will talk to them about their goals, ambitions, and all things Tycoon MMA.

I am your host Chael Mir; and I will be your host for the majority of these interviews. For our first ever edition of ICON Interviews, we have a fighter managed by Tony Serritella of the ICON Alliance, who comes from a family of fighters all managed by the same guy (convenient). He is the former Middleweight Champion of former organisation Mord Haus, and he has a fight coming up in on 17th February in the Semi Finals of Infinity's Middleweight Title Tournament, he is “Showtime” Michael Carter Williams.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14296376481544.jpeg

CM: Michael, it’s a pleasure to have you here on ICON interviews, you are our first ever guest; so I’m gonna start close to home, talk to me about your family. Your father was a boxing champion as an amateur, you have followed in his footsteps and also become an amateur boxing champion, what was it that got you guys into MMA?

MCW: Well I was introduced to my MMA through my father, watching him at the gym and throughout his training camps at the time he left boxing to pursue MMA , which is when I started to pursue boxing. What got him into MMA was just another journey in his life as he did everything he could do in boxing, my father is a fighter and will always be one so I wouldn’t be surprised if he started kickboxing when he was done with MMA.
As for myself; after a successful run in boxing I shifted focus over to MMA because I love the idea of smaller gloves and the access to more artillery, Kicks, Elbows, chokes. So many more weapons to hurt people with.

CM
:
Very good and talking of your old man he's doing pretty well these days. He's 36 years old, he's the Destiny FC middleweight champion and he's on an 8 fight win streak, with 7 of those coming by knockout. The fact that he's doing so well at this age, does it make you proud of him as his son? And does it add any more pressure on you to succeed in your career?

MCW: Yeah I’m very proud of him and very happy for him. Seeing my father succeed like this only gives me confidence in everything inside and outside the cage. He taught me everything I know about boxing and footwork how to counter a punch. It’s at a point where how well he’s doing really makes me even more proud because I know as a fighter I will do well with that kind of knowledge.

In response to the second part of your question; it does and it doesn’t add pressure to my fights. It’s one of those things you know that if you win your father will be proud but at the same time you don’t want to lose just because you think it will upset him and let him down. But my father assures me that it doesn’t matter that and that I should just go out there and have fun but of course he tells me win or die trying. As long as he knows I gave it my all, he knows I followed the code that is in our DNA.

CM: He sounds like a great father as well and as fighter, what an awesome guy, must be that manager you guys all share. So you are a former 2 time Mord Haus Middleweight Champion, and in fact the last middleweight champion they ever had there. Does it annoy you that they shut down as you had a title taken away that you never really lost, or does it make you happy that you were the last guy to ever hold the belt?

MCW: To be honest I wasn't too thrilled about the org shutting down because I was looking to get some more title defences on my record and cash some more checks, but you know it worked out for me in the end because I had many orgs scouting me to sign with them and I ended up right where I want to be; in a top org and placed in a tournament. But knowing I was the last champion is a major achievement and I'm glad that was me who had the belt when they shut down and nobody else.

CM: So that belt you had; you both won that belt and lost it against Nathan Cortez in your time with the organisation. What are your thoughts on Nathan as a fighter? What did you do differently after losing the first fight? (Which you were dominating up until the finish). And which fight out of the three fights you have now had with him, do you feel is most representative of both of your abilities as fighters?

MCW: My thoughts on Nathan Cortez are not pleasant I’ll tell you that much. I don’t hate the guy but I don’t respect him as a fighter and never will. It was a fluke that be beat me and he knows it and I made sure he knew it to. The guy is a cocky prick and I’m glad I was the one who put him in check. He was talking a lot of smack after he beat me and that just made more and more motivated to hurt the guy which I did.

The first fight was a fluke and I was whooping his ass the whole fight until he caught me off guard. To be honest my I forgot to run a game plan with my manager for that fight and just kinda went in their without one and still kicked his ass. After he won he then refused to give me a title shot which I thought was complete bullshit on his part considering he got lucky with his win against me.

After I lost I made sure that I would come back stronger and with a game plan set specifically designed for his style and it worked out not once but twice both finishes. Another reason I dislike the guy is because he stalked me and followed me to Infinity just to get KO'd. I honestly believe out of the 3 fights I was the better fighter in all three fights, but if I had to pick one it would be the second fight because I humiliated him very badly and shut his entire skill set down and got the TKO victory. The 3rd fight where I got the big KO is something I shrug off because I went in there knowing I was going to kill him.

CM: In your new organisation Infinity, you won your debut with a very exciting finish over Nathan Cortez, so congratulations for that; it was a very emphatic victory, however, this was part of a bigger picture as they are putting together a middleweight tournament with the winner becoming the new champion. What are your thoughts on this setup? And how do you foresee yourself stacking up in this tournament?

MCW: Yeah man I love what Butch Harris is doing with Infinity. The organisation is going places and I’m proud to fight here and plan on staying here for a long time win or lose this is home for now. The setup thought couldn’t get any better. I always dreamed to be in a tournament format fight and cleaning house en-route to a title belt added to my collection. I see myself winning the whole thing and taking that gold home and hanging on my wall or gym. But hey man I’m not a cocky fighter, I’m very realistic, so I accept the fact that anything could happen come fight night. However I am confident in my skill set and winning this tournament is priority number 1 for me.

CM: Just to wrap this up then; in your next fight you go up against another dangerous guy in the Brooklyn Brawler, Jordan Belfort. He’s on a 3 fight win streak, all finishes, how is training going for this fight? How do you think his skill set compares to yours and how do you see yourself winning this fight?

MCW: Yeah by far Jordan Belfort will be one of my tougher fights to date but I feel me and him stack up against each other very well in terms of skills and style. I’ve seen some of his fights and I like what he brings to the table and under his new manager he seems to be a killer like myself and I take pride in taking out killers in the cage. I’ve trained specifically for him the past 4 weeks and surrounded myself with elite training partners in Muay Thai to get ready for his type of fighting and I promise win or lose you do not want to miss this fight. Somebody is getting hurt and getting hurt badly. We are both elite strikers in our respective disciplines but I know my hands are better and I’m going to throw them with bad intentions and try to take his head off. I see myself winning the fight, but not taking away anything from Jordan he’s a killer and I have to respect that. But I predict a 2nd round TKO or KO.

CM: Excellent! And everyone will sure as hell be tuning in for that one, don't blink! Michael it's been absolutely fantastic to have you here, we're gonna let you go now as you have a very important fight to train for. Here at ICON Interviews we wish you the best of luck in your fight and go get that belt.

Thank you guys for checking out the first ever edition of ICON Interviews, we will have many more interviews like this very very soon so make sure to follow and subscribe to the updates. Tune into Infinity: MW Title Tourny Rd 2 at 6pm on 17th February 2016 to see our guest Michael Carter Williams meet "The Brooklyn Brawler" Jordan Belfort in a fight that promises fireworks. I've been Chael Mir and I will see you on the next edition of ICON INTERVIEWS!

Top Fighter: Cedric Murphy

ICON Profile:

A manager of two world champions, Harry Bagofdonuts has crossed into all kinds of territory in the MMA Tycoon world. He is a genuine pioneer, and like ICON leader Steel Penn; is always looking for a way to improve the MMA Tycoon environment.

Harry is well versed in all areas of management of fighters, showing extreme resilience early on in his career; when he lost 6 of his first 7 fights. He went on to manage world champions and has done things very few managers; even at the top of the game, have managed to pull off. He is a pretty experienced manager, gaining wins of all types of his way to the top 100 rankings, and managing many fighters in title fights.

Harry is very savvy when it comes to picking up free agents; he can spot high level talent very easily. His best fighter Cedric “The Pandemic” Murphy, had a so-so record when Harry picked him up. However under Harry’s direction, Murphy immediately fired off 4 straight wins. He would go on to become the last ever Light Heavyweight world champion in NY Fight Nights and would develop world class boxing skills that have translated beautifully into MMA. “The Pandemic” is now only 29 years old, with his fighting prime still ahead on him; and he is fighting in the greatest Tycoon MMA organisation that there is in Synchronicity. He is also ranked at no. 33 in the P4P rankings; nobody can tell just how high having a great 2016 could take him. It would be fair to say Harry did and continues to do a pretty top of the range job on this one.

One of the strangest things about this man though is that Cedric is not (yet) his greatest achievement in the Tycoon MMA world. Harry Bagofdonuts is one of very few managers to have managed a TWGC Champion. In the summer of 2014, in London; the ultimate proving ground for grappling in this strange and beautiful world; the now retired Tyson Clay, also an MMA Champion several times, won the Division 2 TWGC championship at 155lbs. The then 26 year old won maybe the easiest final ever seen; getting a takedown in the first minute and scoring the rear naked choke submission 30 seconds later. He achieved this after 4 grueling decisions and a submission by Kimura. This represents Harry’s greatest achievement, as is shows he is astute at the tactics of pure grappling as well as MMA. Unfortunately his former protégé is retired now, aged just 33 years of age. A torrid 2015, in which Clay lost 6 fights in a row convinced Harry that he had done all he could in his career.

A great manager, a great guy, we look forward to what Harry can do in 2016, already having two world champions to his ranks, we look if he can break a fighter in the top 10 pound for pound; and become the first ICON manager to do this during the time of the Alliance, he has every chance if history is anything to go by…

Top Fighter: Achilleo Katsidis

ICON Profile:

Everybody knows somebody in life, that’s very quiet; unassuming; may fly a bit under the radar, but this person is also extremely smart, efficient and really damn good at what they do. For Tycoon MMA and the ICON Alliance; this guy is Ed Minasian. This is a man who just instils such a confidence in his fighters; that every single one of them is able to go in the cage and knock their opponents out, repeatedly.

One of the less glorified managers of the ICON Alliance; perhaps because his fighters have not had the storied careers and titles of some of his ICON colleagues, Ed Minasian is one of the best managers at the ICON Alliance, and everybody at ICON knows it. His fighter’s lack of championships and glory is perhaps a testament to the brilliantly methodical nature in which the cerebral manager handles all their careers. Ed will never push a fighter too far too soon; and is extremely good at using the resources which are available to him in the Tycoon MMA world. He will very often arrange for his fighters to take all four of their possible fights in the QFC, never rushing them into an organisation or contract too soon in their development, a mistake we see all too often. The result of this is that Ed’s fighters tend to be able to build very handy winning streaks and are always improving rather than declining.

Ed’s top fighter; Achilleo Katsidis, is a prime example of everything that is great about Ed; he has only lost once, (A TKO where he got caught with a big shot in the first round) which he has since avenged. Achilleo also currently sports a four fight win streak and possesses elite skills in all areas of MMA, although knocking people out is the skill which he prefers to use the most. He is a product of Ed’s solid system, he won 4 fights in the QFC at the beginning of his career and he is reaping the benefits that this had on his development. If he is able to notch another couple of wins; he will be knocking on the door for a title shot in the first half of 2016, he has looked nothing short of phenomenal lately.

Some of Ed’s other projects include former kickboxing champion Magnar Styr, who competes exclusively under kickboxing rules; and Osvaldo Torrado, a 40 year old former champion who has not fought since springtime 2013. His retirement seems all but inevitable at this point, despite the fact he never lost his belt and would be retiring on the best win streak of his career. It remains to be seen whether Ed will bring him back for one last fight; if not, it’d be great to see him go out on top.

Unlike Torrado, many of Ed’s top fighters are relatively young and should be entering the prime of their careers in 2016. It will be interesting seeing how he manages to develop all of them over the next 12 months as it is entirely possible that 2016 is the year that finally sees him get the credit he deserves as a manager from the mainstream Tycoon MMA world.

Top Fighter: Hillevi Javri

ICON Profile:

One of the newest managers to enter the ICON alliance; Randy Richards brings an important sense of new blood into an organisation that aims to be on the absolute top of the MMA world. He can certainly hold his own in ICON if his recent record is anything to go by.

Randy did not have a good start to his career as a Tycoon MMA manager. He had a losing record overall for quite some time at first. Many of his fighters lost by emphatic TKO. He was at a low point in his Tycoon career and trying to find the formula to put it right. Then, somewhere along the line it just happened, Randy’s fighters just started winning, there was still the odd loss here and there but he began to break even with his wins and losses records. Randy’s upturn in fortune coincided with the emergence of versatile striker and the current Middleweight Champion of MMA Helsinki; Hillevi “left elbow of doom” Javri. Javri has proven extremely tough to beat, and despite not having demonstrated the finishing ability which a manager would want, has had extremely entertaining fights and has proven very difficult to out-strike on his feet. He has all the tools to go onto bigger and better things in 2016, whether that means title defences or winning a different belt only time will tell.

As a manager; Randy Richards is currently on a 10 fight win streak, the best of his career, which is serving as an indicator that he has found the winning formula that he has been looking for; and will look to push forward from here. His 10 fight streak is the highest active winning streak of any ICON Alliance Manager; which leaves everyone else with some serious catching up to do!

Randy has recently proven to have a very good understanding of the Tycoon world and how to win fights strategically; in 2016, he must continue to move forwards and look to build some elite fighters from within his ranks, or recruit some. We look forward to seeing how he tries to bring himself to the next level of the game.

Top Fighter Robert Boone

ICON Profile:

Mr Peanut has had an excellent 2016 so far and has quickly established himself as one of the better managers in the ICON Alliance since it was created. He is a pragmatic manager; asking his fighters to go for the knockout or submission by preference but he will always adapt if he needs to, which explains why he was able to have two long unbeaten runs during his relatively short career as a manager.

Peanut picked the Tycoon MMA game up relatively quickly; and has an excellent understanding of the training and tactics of fighters. He will always look to help the less experienced managers of ICON out, and because of this and his penchant for getting results himself; he is a serious asset to ICON in any plausible challenge to being the greatest Alliance in Tycoon MMA.

Peanut has roughly a 50/50 record in title fights, which is an extremely respectable record; he also manages the current BMP Super Heavyweight Champion Robert “Boom” Boone. Boone is a well-rounded fighter for his size and has fought at both Super Heavyweight and Heavyweight; with the former being the more successful for him, as he has used a speed and athleticism advantage at that weight well; and has not had to cut any weight, which is preferable to any fighter.

Peanut is on a really good run as a manager at the moment and he will be looking to help “Boom” defend the title several times over the course of the year; it is rumoured his first defence will be against either Nikolai Kovalenko or Dimentiy Boykin. Both of these two are savvy veterans who will both prove challenges to Boone, but ones his manager will believe he can overcome. The outside option is wrestler and submission artist “Bulldog” Garik Harlamov; another 40 year old who prevents an interesting stylistic challenge for Boone.

As well as Boone, Peanut will look to add more champions to his name in 2016; and will be looking to build up a fighter who can contribute to The Alliance Wars; whenever the rules of that tournament are decided…

CM: Hello people of the Tycoon world, it is my pleasure to capture your attention for yet another edition of ICON Interviews. As the proud host of ICON Interviews; I Chael Mir; would like to offer you the most engaging edition of ICON Interviews we have ever seen. We have a guest befitting of the occasion; ever since I started interviewing, I’ve been looking for that fighter that just has a real interesting story, and a real promising career still ahead of him. I identified this guy a while ago; he is finally joining us at ICON Interviews, may I present to you ICON Alliance’s very own Scandinavian sensation, “Mr Incredible” Sven Tveskabb!

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14281794501400.jpg

Check out the audio of Part 1: https://youtu.be/dY44_0bqIhU

PART 2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_NBJ1YKU0Y

CM: Sven; it’s an absolute pleasure to have you here buddy; we’ve been looking forward to it for a very long time, I for one am super excited, welcome to the show. Talk to us about what’s been going on with you lately; your former organisation, Tradition Fight Club, collapsed and closed. As their last ever champion, how did this alter your plans? Has this whole situation given you a different perspective on what you believe the future holds for your career?

ST: I have so many good memories from Tradition Fight Club. I had 8 fights in the organization and it was at TFC that my career started for real. When they closed I felt like it were the end of the beginning, like chapter one in my book was finished. Now I just train, eat, sleep and repeat until I feel like I'm ready, when I feel like I'm ready to write a masterpiece.

CM: You certainly created some great memories for everybody over there buddy; what was most encapsulating to a lot of people was not just your title win; but your trilogy with Jandre Vorster; talk to me about your opinion of him as a person and a fighter and how big was that trilogy for you and your career?

ST: Jandre is a great fighter and I respect him a lot, there isn't a single bad thing to say about him. He is as dangerous as dangerous can be on the ground, a real submission artist with a chin made of iron. I have had the great honour of fighting him not once but three times. Jandre is one of those guys that you looking forward to facing and that makes you bring your A game to the fight. When I won against Jandre and won the belt I just wanted to face him again just to prove that it wasn't luck that won the fight, I wanted to prove to myself and the fans that I was the real deal. After a couple of title defences I got the fight that I wanted and he got his rematch. I got taken down and submitted in the first round and that was that. I was so disappointed with my performance so I called the owner of TFC and begged him for an instant rematch.

CM: Obviously you beat him for the belt in a close decision in the first fight; then a few defences later he submitted you; and you came back in the third fight, still your last fight to this day, and frankly you outsmarted him and flat out dominated it from bell to bell. What did you do differently in both training and strategizing for that fight to ensure such a different outcome? And what did winning that third fight; a fitting end to your time in TFC mean to you at the time?

ST: In our first fight I rocked him in the fourth round and he got saved by the bell. I won the fight and were the first one to defeat him but as a finisher; I wanted to be the first one to knock him out. I got obsessed with that KO and in our second fight I were just looking for a KO. Going into the third fight I felt like I had to let my obsession go and realise that Jandre isn't playing games, so I used my stand up skills in a better way and tried to make sure to keep the fight standing rather than go all out for a KO.

CM: One last question on this; if Highland Games; one of the biggest organisations in England; asked you to go over there to compete against Vorster one more time, what would your answer be?

ST: Well I’d still love that KO; haha.

CM: Ok that’s real interesting; see what surprises me is that someone hasn’t called you already. I can’t seriously believe that a former champion as dangerous and skilled as yourself isn’t being approached every day. You’ve had offers right?

ST: I've had some offers but nothing that have drawn my attention to much.

CM: What do you believe would be the perfect organisation for you right now? Is there an offer you could not refuse?

ST: Right now I'm just happy to go to the gym, I'm still learning. Me and my coaches are working on some stuff that's going to take my game to a new level, until then I will remain unsigned. You should never say never but it is really going to take a lot to drag me from the gym right now, like a mud wrestling match with Beyonce and that I would do for free.

CM: I think that could get us all out of pretty much anywhere!! I can understand you’re looking to work on some new things; you’re already a pretty complete fighter who’s in his prime, it seems as if when somebody is unable to take you down and submit you; they can’t beat you. Can you shed any light on what you’re looking to add to your game?

ST: I'm working on my offense a bit so that I can bring some more diversity to the fights, spinning back fist, superman punch and the axe kick can all surprise you in a fight.

CM: I couldn’t help but notice you and your manager are now part of the famous ICON Alliance. What are your thoughts on ICON and the goal that they have to become the greatest Alliance in MMA?

ST: I think ICON is a very exciting Alliance and I am proud to be a member of it. There are a good mix of experienced and new managers that managing over 250 fighters. There is a lot of young blood amongst us fighters, so the future looks bright for us and by the end of the year we will definitely be up there with the big boys.

CM: Right; we’re gonna wrap this up so just one last question. Will Sven Tveskabb win another Championship this year?

ST: Absolutely! 100%.

CM: Now is that a confident answer or what? Sven it’s been an absolute pleasure to have you here on ICON Interviews; thank you so much for your time today and we look forward to seeing you in the Ring or the cage again. Hopefully we won’t be waiting too long!

CM: That concludes our first ever Audio interview! It was a hell of a lot of fun to be a part of; and here at ICON Interviews, we’re hoping this will change the game. We hope you enjoyed this edition; let us know what you thought in the comments; everybody is welcome! And as always if you belong to the ICON Alliance; or your fighter fights for the organisation Steel Penn – ICON; please PM me; Chael Mir at108468. See you next time on ICON Interviews!

Top Fighter: Ray Reilly

ICON Profile:

When it comes to pure fight management; there are not many more experienced as Fat Boy; the is the most experienced manager in the Alliance; having been through more up and downs than most managers knew were possible in Tycoon MMA. The veteran has achieved wins in over 75 title fights; a commendable achievement by any standard. Fat Boy was also one of the top 10 managers in the world back in the “good old days” of Tycoon MMA, as many managers like to refer to them.

Fat Boy still manages one world champion to this day; Ray Reilly. Reilly has been around a while but would still be considered in the prime of his career as he is ranked in the top 50 P4P and the top 10 in his weight class. He isn’t a finishing machine like some of the other top ICON Alliance fighters; but he a defensive genius who is hard to hit and has excellent anti-wrestling skills. As a testament to his skillset and to his manager’s tactical nous; Reilly has never been stopped, and it is quite rare to see him lose a round, let alone a fight. His intelligent style and knack for shutting down opponents games mean that he always seems in control of the fight and is hardly ever behind on the scorecards. We look forward to seeing how much more Ray Reilly can push forward in 2016 having already completed 4 defences of his Ultimate Vale Tudo Featherweight Championship.

Another of Fat Boy’s great achievements as a manager was managing Paul Borque to a TWGC Division 3 Championship; a phenomenal achievement for any manager, particularly when you consider that Borque had virtually no submission acumen. Borque has never had a submission win in an MMA fight. Ever the intelligent manager; Fat Boy guided Borque to use an aggressive guard game from the bottom; managing to sweep his opponents regularly to set up his excellent guard passing game from the top. This allowed Borque to become the oldest Division 3 Champion in TWGC history, at 43 years old at the time. Paul Borque was also a two division (145 and 155) MMA world champion in Ultimate Vale Tudo; Fat Boy’s own organisation. He was a top level fighter for a long period of time; fighting for the Featherweight Championship as recently as November 2015 at age 46. Unfortunately he would lose out by decision and he and Fat Boy eventually parted ways in February 2016.

As well as being a top manager; Fat Boy has also been a very successful organisation owner; running Ultimate Vale Tudo; the best organisation in Rio de Janeiro for the last three years. This organisation has proved a good home to some of Fat Boy’s top talents; allowing them to develop and strengthen, a very smart move by the savvy vet.

The one criticism of Fat Boy’s management is perhaps not being ambitious enough with regards to bringing young prospects through his ranks; with over half the fighters he manages currently being over the age of 40 years old. Whilst some of these fighters were once the best fighters in their world in their respective weight classes; their best days occurred a long time ago and they will never get to the point they were once at. In 2016; it would be good to see Fat Boy address this issue; and not necessarily get rid of these guys, it is of course always nostalgically pleasing to see them continue to win fights at their age. However; if Fat Boy were to raise up a couple of young starlets in 2016; his future as a manager would be extremely promising and he would prove that he is able to adapt to the modern world of MMA Tycoon.

CM: Hello there to everyone tuning in to ICON Interviews; welcome to yet another edition. I am your host Chael Mir and today we will be welcoming our first ever current World Champion. He fights for MMA Helsinki in Finland; he belongs to the ICON Alliance, and he is currently the World Middleweight Champion for MMA Helsinki and he will be defending that title on April 9thagainst Evgenii Mamchenko. May I present to you; “The Left Elbow of Doom” Hillevi Javri.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14515935121264.png

CM: Hillevi; you are the champ at the moment at MMA Helsinki; you managed to get to the belt quite quickly in a relatively short MMA career so far; talk to us about your journey upwards and what it means to have that belt and to have already defended it twice?

HJ: Honestly, having the belt is a great feeling, having defending it twice is even better! For the future I’m going to keep defending my belt until some higher ranked organisations are interested in me. I'll be here until then and I will not fall short against anyone.

CM: It’s good to know you are confident; so you mentioned higher organisations; obviously MMA Helsinki is incredibly respectable for its large roster and ability to develop younger fighters, what is the organisation you’d be looking to go to if things go your way? Is there a dream organisation which you’d love to be a part of?

HJ: My dream organisation is EVOLUTION.I Have massive respect for Mega Jug and how he's been managing everything. I also have a great amount of respect for Ispa; he is also a very good manager. However I know I still have a hell of a lot of work to do before any of those elite organisations consider me. But we will have to see what happens next.

CM: They certainly do have a good thing going down there; a very popular location for super fights; Evolution certainly seems like the place to go if you want to fight the best of the best. Let’s talk about your next fight; you are defending your belt for the third time against “Baby” Mamchenko. Obviously he is a dangerous fighter; very skilled on the ground. However; you fought him before not too long ago; you shut his game down completely; has it been hard to motivate yourself for this fight?

HJ: I Have to admit, I have a lot of respect for Evgenii. But I am looking to have the same outcome as the last fight, if possible I'll even try to knock him out. Motivating myself for this fight was pretty easy. My fight camp is also great. I'm training on a new skill that Evgenii will have to look out for. It'll be worse than my razor elbows.

CM: He has his weapons as an opponent; so what do you think he will try to do differently this time; if anything, to avoid exactly the same outcome again?

HJ: I Feel like he will be doing the same thing last time, only thing is that he'll probably mix in some more punches.

CM: So as far as the middleweight division in MMA Helsinki; is there anyone in there that presents an interesting challenge to you or who you would like to defend the belt against after Evgenii?

HF: Kenny Ramsey seems to be in good form, I’d also say the same For Monty Orellana. I'd like to have a match with them and break their winning streaks.

CM: You have made a career out of ending winning streaks; have you ever thought about making that part of your nickname?

HJ: I've been thinking about making that as a part of my nickname, but I am not exactly sure about that yet. I'll have to see what my manager has to say.

CM: We’re gonna wrap this up; just a couple more questions; out of the top fighters in the world at the moment; is there any one guy that you look up to? Anybody that you can see yourself emulating at all?

HJ: The person I look up to is Jameson Connamera and Donny Donnowitz. These two are an absolute legend and I hope I can become like them soon.
Thank you for having me for this interview. It was a true pleasure to be here.

CM: Ok; one last question can we get a prediction for 9th April from you? What’s the outcome of the fight and what round will it be?

HJ: I'm not the type to predict what round I might win in. But since you asked, I will make it a 4th round TKO via my new technique.

CM: Well we look very much forward to the fight and seeing the new technique; Hillevi, it’s been awesome to have you here on ICON Interviews my friend; good luck with the fight, and I’m sure next time we see you you’ll still have the belt.

HJ: Thank you for having me. It was a true pleasure to be here.

CM: Well that does it for this edition of ICON Interviews ladies and gentleman; remember to tune into MMA Helsinki 30 on the 9th April to see Hillevi Javri defend his Middleweight Championship against Evgenii Mamchenko at Hayashi’s lounge at 6pm Finland time; 4pm London time; 8am in the morning in Los Angeles; and 9am in Las Vegas.

I’ve been Chael Mir and as always if you are a member of the ICON Alliance or The Steel Penn – ICON org, then we are always ready to get your fighters the promotion they deserve; only on ICON Interviews. For more information message me; Chael Mir at the ID: 108468. See you next time!
