Guest
why fighters dont have a stance? should they be part of fighter attributes ? if so any ideas how to make it work?
Kanis
i imagine that would be a mathematical nightmare to make it AS important as it is. jmo.
Shards
I'm not so much a fan of suggestions like this, it might be a good idea but you're not following it up with any substance. At face value it just seems like something will create a bigger learning curve and that will push new players away.
s3raphim
This is a good idea Basic stance (character creation) Orthodox (right), Southpaw (left) Advanced stance (add in tactics) Wide (feet apart like Machida's) - good in and out Defensive (hands up tight like Guida's) - good blocking Open (Hands down like Silva, Cruz) - diverse offense Square (Level feet ) - good sprawl MT stance (Condit's, Vera's) - precise kicks/knees, clinching Boxing (GSP)- precise punching Then add Circle left/right to stand up tactics it would be nice if fighters can switch to any stance if they like depending on the individual slider, if the slider is zero then they won't go to that stance, but the effectiveness of each stance would depend on the skill stats and their disciplines. This is difficult to make, I know, But just an idea. I just would like to add diversity because most of the dominant fighters have the same styles I think. A knock-out artist with good take-down defense.
Guest
Think this would be a coding nightmare... but if they are added Buffalo Stance must be included.

Hindenpeter
sounds interesting, especially since more diversity is always good I really don't know how the fight-engine works, but couldn't this be coded like a modifier?

STANCE: Square--------l--------Wide S.DEF: Guarded--------l--------Open MOVMNT: Circle--------l--------Stand With the addition of southpaws to the game CIRCLE: Left--------l--------Right
TPowell1990
great idea but I agree with the crowd that says it is too much work for the engine. Maybe start with just southpaws?
Hindenpeter
sliders would be awesome if technically possible...
