Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rio Silva (ranked 1943 p4p, 190 weight class) and Jihadi John (ranked 2182 p4p, 208 weight class). Silva's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Eye of the Tiger. John comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Ali-A kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Jihadi John has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rio Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jihadi John !
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Wesley Smith and Gwen Towbar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. John is trying to defend but Silva finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
John is looking to escape.
Silva trying to control the pace.
Silva winds up and cracks John with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Silva is stalling here. John is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Silva seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and John has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Silva is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
John has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
John scores with a nice head shot.
John stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and John wants it to stay on the feet.
Silva walks into a straight right hand from John .
Silva tries to score a power double leg takedown but John sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Silva somewhat.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rio Silva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
John stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and John wants it to stay on the feet.
Silva moves forwards but John connects with a nice, crisp jab.
The crowd cheers as John lands an impressive looking overhand right. Silva doesn't seem phased though.
Silva has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Silva takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jihadi John is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Silva on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Silva goes for a double leg but John avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as John continues to drive forward.
John throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
John throws a head kick that half lands.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
John moves into range and clinches up with Silva.
John with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
It looks like Rio Silva has been cut.
Silva tries to pull guard but John holds him up against the cage and eventually Silva drops back down to his feet.
John throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Silvas head.
John lands a knee to the head.
John prevents the takedown attempt.
Silva wants to take the fight to the mat but John manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Silva is breathing heavily.
John landing knees to the head.
A right hook to the body lands for John .
John lands a good knee to the midsection. Silva won't want to take too many of those.
John lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
A bit of stalling here from John .
John drops Silva with a big knee straight up the middle! Silva is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
Silva is rocked!
Rio Silva's cut is getting worse.
John cracks Silva with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Silva tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but John pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Silva is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jihadi John !
After the fight, Jihadi John was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
