And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 18 - 0, fighting out of London, Michael Collins!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Slater avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Collins is looking to clinch but Slater is avoiding it.
Collins misses with a jab, cross combination.

Slater shoots in and bounces Collins off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Slater sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Collins's guard.
Slater wants to pass to mount but Collins is defending the position.

Slater is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Collins sees it coming and defends easily.
Slater works his foot free and advances to mount.
Slater has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Slater controlling the position easily from mount.

Slater looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Slater trying to control but he's not successful this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You get the feeling that Collins really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Collins wants to control but Slater is having none of it.

Slater with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Slater fails to advance to Collins's back.
Slater tries to control but Collins wriggling away.
Slater won't let Collins get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Collins is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Slater is trying to take his opponent's back.
Slater forces the positional change into back control.

Slater is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Collins is tapping out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Tim Slater!
After the fight, Tim Slater was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
