The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balls throws a looping overhand right but Wells ducks down to avoid it.
Wells definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Balls tries to close the distance and clinch up but Wells swats him away and circles back towards the center.

That was a close round but I would say that Vernon Wells will probably get the nod.

Wells looks to land a left hand but Balls moved out of range nicely.
Wells connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Balls momentarily.
Wells has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
