PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Gemechu McKraken (ranked 731 p4p, 92 weight class) and Prohor Georgiev (ranked 174 p4p, 23 weight class). Georgiev comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Oxxxymiron - City under the sole kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Gemechu McKraken!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Prohor Georgiev!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McKraken fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Georgiev takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
McKraken scores with the left hand. Georgiev knows he should have avoided that one.
Georgiev takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Georgiev feints and then cracks McKraken's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow McKraken down.
McKraken misses with a lunging right hand

and Georgiev counters with a nice double leg into guard.
McKraken tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McKraken is working hard here to advance position.

McKraken had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Georgiev defends it easily.
McKraken manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Georgiev manages to get himself to full guard.

McKraken is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Georgiev's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Georgiev's back!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Georgiev is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if McKraken gets his way!

McKraken has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Georgiev has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Georgiev tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

McKraken can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Georgiev is looking to escape.

McKraken is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Georgiev to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Georgiev shrugs it off.

That's time! McKraken's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


McKraken takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Georgiev misses the shot to the body.
Georgiev pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
McKraken shoots in for a double leg but Georgiev sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Georgiev lands a nice leg kick that just misses McKraken's sensitive parts.
