Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Timo Juti (ranked 500 p4p, 67 weight class) and Ken Jiro (ranked 1049 p4p, 129 weight class). Jiro is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Game of Death. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Timo Juti!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ken Jiro!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Juti lands a right hook to the body.
Juti wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Jiro showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Juti.
Juti misses the shot to the body.
Jiro looks to land a left hand but Juti moved out of range nicely.
Jiro connects with a body shot that sends Juti's belly button to the back.
Juti throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jiro ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Juti moves away.
Juti wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Jiro slips a jab and a cross from Juti.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Juti throws a nice looking combination but Jiro bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
A telegraphed right hand from Jiro misses the target.
Juti keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Juti tries to counter by clinching up but Jiro breaks away and moves out of range.
Juti has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Island Sparring in the buildup to the fight.
Jiro lands with an overhand left.


It looks like Timo Juti has been cut.
Jiro tries to move into range but Juti moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Juti clobbers Jiro with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Juti throws a poor cross that misses

and Jiro counters with a nice right hand that sends Juti toppling to the canvas! Juti scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Jiro finish him?!


Juti is rocked!
Jiro fakes the body blow, causing Juti to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Juti goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:18 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Ken Jiro!
Ken Jiro is the new heavyweight champion!
Ken Jiro decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
