Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bob The Man (ranked 806 p4p, 101 weight class) and Adam Rios (ranked 1121 p4p, 142 weight class). Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bob The Man!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Adam Rios!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Man attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
The Man lands a nice leg kick that just misses Rios's sensitive parts.
The Man uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Rios uses good head movement to avoid the hook from The Man.
A little jabbing left from Rios on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
The Man fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
The Man scores with the left hand. Rios knows he should have avoided that one.
The Man throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
The Man throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rios swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Rios swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice straight punches there by The Man. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of The Man.
Rios on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
The Man is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The Man throws an ugly left hook that misses
letting Rios counter with a right hand.
The Man getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
The Man jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Rios swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
The Man wants to slow Rios down by chopping away at his legs.
Rios has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from The Man.
Rios keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rios! But no joy.
The Man lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Rios at a distance.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from The Man.
A shot to the body from The Man misses
and Rios counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


It looks like Bob The Man has been cut.
The Man looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
The Man swings widly with a right hand
enabling Rios to counter with a crisp jab.
The Man is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Rios.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Rios! But no joy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The Man throws a poor cross that misses
letting Rios counter with a right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The Man misses with a kick to the body
and Rios counters with a straight right hand.
The Man scores with a body shot.
Rios keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
The Man thuds his right hand into Rios's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Rios misses with an uppercut.
Good standup being displayed there by The Man as he connects with a hook.

The Man clinches with his opponent.
Rios takes a shot to the head.
Rios lands with a left to the head.
Rios tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. The Man just stands there and leans against the cage.
The Man goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Rios manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Rios escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. The Man gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells The Man's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The Man scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
The Man trying to control but Rios is working from the bottom.

The Man avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The Man controlling from the top position.

Rios has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think The Man should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Rios has tightened it up now! The Man should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Adam Rios!
During a confident post fight interview, Adam Rios thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
