Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edwin Lucan (ranked 2716 p4p, 57 weight class) and Machiavelli Vecellio (ranked 1258 p4p, 61 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Roberts and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucan lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Vecellio circles away quickly and effectively.
We've been told by Lucan's head coaches at Rabid Dog that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Vecellio swats away the attempt to clinch by Lucan.
Lucan shoots and misses
and Vecellio counters with a lovely straight right hand!
It looks like Edwin Lucan has been cut.
Vecellio slips under a jab from Lucan.
Vecellio wants to counter the offense by Lucan and move into the clinch position.
Lucan jabs Vecellio to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Lucan scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Lucan misses the shot to the body.
Lucan rushes Vecellio and presses him up against the cage.
Vecellio breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lucan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Vecellio lands a nice shot to the body.

Vecellio tries to counter by closing the distance.
We've been informed that Vecellio has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Lucan moves into the clinch.
Lucan goes for a takedown attempt but Vecellio pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Vecellio moves into range and clinches up with Lucan.

Vecellio's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lucan tries to clinch
and Vecellio counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Lucan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Lucan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Vecellio doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Lucan.
Lucan prevents Vecellio from standing back up.
Lucan is pressing down on Vecellio's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vecellio is holding on for now.
Lucan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Vecellio to stand up.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Vecellio tries to score with a low kick but Lucan moves his leg out of the way.
Vecellio scores with a body shot.
Oh, that's a big right hand from Vecellio and Lucan goes tumbling to the canvas! Vecellio follows him to the ground and looks to finish from half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Lucan is trying to get back to full guard.
Vecellio decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Vecellio rushes Lucan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Lucan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lucan switches off momentarily and Vecellio cracks him with a monster right hand! Lucan topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Vecellio dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Vecellio!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Machiavelli Vecellio!
Machiavelli Vecellio seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
