Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Marko Stunt (ranked 2888 p4p, 0 weight class) and Douglas Kimura (ranked 6598 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marko Stunt!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Douglas Kimura!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kimura shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Kimura showed some decent athleticism there.
Kimura is thwarting Stunt's attempts to control the position.
Stunt keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kimura is looking to advance position but Stunt won't allow it.
Kimura takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stunt is trying to control but can't.
Stunt definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Kimura wants to control but Stunt is keeping him busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Stunt tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kimura sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Stunt somewhat.

Kimura should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Kimura tries to free his leg and advance position but Stunt is retaining full guard.
Kimura looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Stunt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kimura.
Stunt wants to sweep but no luck.

Kimura controls from within his opponent's guard.
Kimura landing with the ground and pound.
Stunt preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Kimura must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Stunt is pulling down on Kimura's head. It's preventing any offense from Kimura, at least for the moment.

Stunt looking for a guillotine here but Kimura defends easily.
Kimura loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Stunt working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kimura.
Kimura wants to control from the top but Stunt keeps moving.
Kimura controlling from the top position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Kimura decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Stunt, up you get!
Stunt misses with a takedown
and Kimura counters with a three punch combo that has Stunt backing up. Stunt nods at Kimura to acknowledge the strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kimura closes the distance and clinches.
Kimura prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marko Stunt. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Kimura gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Stunt regains guard.
Kimura trying to move into half guard but instead Stunt has managed to sweep!

Kimura is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kimura keeping moving, preventing Stunt from controlling successfully.

Stunt got a little sloppy there for a moment and Kimura has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Stunt has managed to get both his arms back between Kimura's legs - danger averted.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Kimura seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Stunt tries to keep at a distance but Kimura has taken the fight into the clinch.

Stunt shoots and misses

and Kimura counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Kimura is posturing up here but Stunt has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Kimura tries to roll out but it's too tight and Kimura has to tap! Slick submission there by Stunt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Marko Stunt!
During a confident post fight interview, Marko Stunt thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
