The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mencken misses with a leg kick.

Mencken has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Delsarte is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Mencken misses with a body punch
and Delsarte connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like HL Mencken has been cut.
Mencken just misses with a punch to the body.
HL Mencken seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Delsarte looks to throw the jab but Mencken is out of range.
Delsarte misses with a body kick.
Delsarte lands a nice shot to the body.
Mencken keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Mencken doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mencken's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Delsarte connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mencken scrambles back to his feet.
Delsarte really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Delsarte slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Mencken lands a nice looking kick to the body. Delsarte takes a step back to recover.
Mencken fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Delsarte manages to avoid it.

Mencken uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Delsarte looks to land a right hand but Mencken moved out of range.

and Delsarte cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mencken leaves his chin hanging out and Delsarte seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Mencken crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
