Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Falcon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Hamilton Scrapple!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab from Scrapple misses.
Scrapple avoids the head kick by Falcon.
Falcon looks to land a left hand but Scrapple moved out of range nicely.
Scrapple cracks a nice hook into Falcon's ribs.
Scrapple lands an overhand right.
Falcon misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Falcon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Falcon wants it to stay on the feet.
Falcon is looking to counter punch.
Falcon throws a sloppy head kick and Scrapple moves out of range easily.
Jab, jab by Scrapple - just one landing.


It looks like Jack Falcon has been cut.
Falcon throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
A left lands for Scrapple.
Scrapple fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Falcon moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Falcon swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Scrapple.
Scrapple just misses with a punch to the body.
Falcon has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Falcon throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Falcon quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Jack Falcon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hamilton Scrapple.
Scrapple shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Falcon sprawls well. Falcon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scrapple gets slowly back to his feet.

Scrapple moves into the clinch successfully.
Scrapple is leaning against Falcon and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Nice body punch from Scrapple - that landed with a thud.

Scrapple is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Falcon can't fight it off and eventually Scrapple manages to take the fight to the floor. Falcon looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Falcon wants to get back to his feet but Scrapple passes into half guard.

My spies in Hilo Hit Squad inform me that Scrapple has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Scrapple is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Scrapple is taking a breather. Falcon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Scrapple is working for a kimura but Falcon is defending it quite comfortably.

Scrapple wants to work for an arm triangle but Falcon is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Falcon tries to get to full guard but Scrapple has control of the leg.

Scrapple looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hamilton Scrapple will probably get the nod.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Scrapple shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Falcon sprawls well. Falcon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Scrapple gets slowly back to his feet.
Falcon was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Scrapple tries for a takedown but Falcon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Scrapple moves into range and clinches up with Falcon.
Falcon has had enough of the clinch but Scrapple keeps him there for the moment.
Scrapple has Falcon pressed against the cage.
Falcon wants to get back to striking at distance but Scrapple won't allow it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Falcon's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Scrapple manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Scrapple digs a right hand underneath Falcon's ribcage. Falcon let out a lung full of air as it connected.

Scrapple struggles to land a body shot inside as Falcon controls his hands.
Falcon is looking to break free of the clinch but Scrapple has double underhooks.
Falcon has had enough of the clinch but Scrapple keeps him there for the moment.
Falcon wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Falcon scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Jack Falcon is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Falcon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Scrapple. Falcon does a little dance to reset his feet.
Falcon looks to land a combination. Scrapple sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Scrapple is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Falcon is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Scrapple drops back looking for a leg! Falcon is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Falcon manages to kick Scrapple off! Scrapple jumps back into Falcon's guard.
Falcon is trying to control the position but Scrapple postures up.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Scrapple's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Falcon enables Scrapple to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Falcon manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Scrapple thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Falcon looking for a sweep. Not yet Falcon, not yet.
Scrapple stays in close to Falcon's body and controls the position.
Falcon not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Scrapple stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Falcon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hamilton Scrapple showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Falcon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Scrapple throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Scrapple will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Falcon throws a big counter combination but Scrapple scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Falcon.

Jack Falcon is winning the standup battle so far.
Falcon throws a series of strikes that have Scrapple backpedaling.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Scrapple tries for a takedown but Falcon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Hamilton Scrapple is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Falcon slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Scrapple counters with a single leg into guard. Falcon didn't expect that.

Scrapple is taking a breather. Falcon says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Scrapple is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Falcon!
Jack Falcon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Scrapple sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Let's hope that Scrapple has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Scrapple is dominating on the ground here - he's now on his opponent's back, looking to sink in the hooks. Falcon is in real trouble.
A bit of a pause in the action here. Scrapple controlling the positon.

Falcon is really stuck here.
Scrapple has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Falcon's body.

I've got Scrapple winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
