Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson James!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Tohit Tohurt!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Bruno Hogan and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Tohurt as James shoots in.
Tohurt swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and James counters by clinching up.

Tohurt breaks the clinch.
James with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Tohurt to score with a decent uppercut.


It looks like Tyson James has been cut.

James shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tohurt moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Tohurt avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
James has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tohurt wants to sweep but no luck.
James slips nicely into half guard.
James sitting and controlling from the half guard.
James is trying to control the action in half guard but Tohurt is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

James is looking for a kimura but Tohurt is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for James to get the leverage.
James seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. James lands a nice short elbow.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Tohurt can do anything to dispel that myth.

James decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Tohit Tohurt seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tohurt sizes up James with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

James closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Tohurt did well to prevent James getting side control.

James is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Tohurt is trying to stand up here but James is controlling him well.
James slips a nice elbow through Tohurt's hands, connecting with Tohurt's forehead.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

James is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Tohurt has managed to free his arm - good work.
Tohurt wants to get back to his feet.
James passes to full mount!
Tohurt squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

James gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tohurt looks to land a combination but James avoids it well.
James shoots in but no luck this time.
James shoots in but Tohurt avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tyson James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James dives in for a single leg takedown but Tohurt sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Tohurt scores with a crisp jab that stopped James in his tracks.
Tohurt swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tohurt's corner calls for a 1-2. Tohurt obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tohurt keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
James walks into a stiff left hand from Tohurt.


James is rocked!


Tyson James's cut is getting worse.
Tohurt has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
James shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Tohurt defends it nicely.
Oh James is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Tohurt's coach down at UnderGround standup was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Tohurt's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Tohurt with a body punch. A glancing blow.
James seems to have got his legs back now.
Nice shot by Tohurt.
Tohurt throws a powerful right kick. James tried to block low but the kick was high! James was taken right off of his feet! Tohurt jumps in to finish the job and the ref tackles him! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Tohit Tohurt!
The defeated Tyson James had this to say: 'When I am defeated, I stay humble. I was defeated by the better man today. I wish Fray the best in his future title defenses. I will return to the top and get that belt! '.
