Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andy Bangsit (ranked 291 p4p, 41 weight class) and Yacob Nilsen (ranked 723 p4p, 109 weight class). Nilsen is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Lil Wayne - Right above it. Yacob Nilsen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 17 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yacob Nilsen!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yukihiro Shimada and Shirou Masuda.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bangsit bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Bangsit shoots for a double leg takedown but Nilsen sprawls well. He's pushed Bangsit's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bangsit shoots in and drives through. Nilsen sprawls well.
Nilsen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bangsit moves away.
Bangsit dodges the punch combination from Nilsen.
We've been hearing reports that Bangsit has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Bangsit steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Nilsen.

Nilsen throws a body shot but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bangsit displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Nilsen throws out the jab.

Nilsen is pressed up against the cage. Bangsit has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Nilsen down to the mat. Nilsen avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

As Nilsen looks to move away, Bangsit throws a big counter combo but Nilsen just gets out of the way.
Yacob Nilsen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Nilsen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Bangsit moves away.
Bangsit takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Nilsen moves into the clinch successfully.

Bangsit drops down looking for an ankle pick but Nilsen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Bangsit slips a straight right by Nilsen.
Bangsit changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Nilsen misses with a left hand

and Bangsit decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Nilsen's guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nilsen looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bangsit accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Nilsen trying to keep a closed guard but Bangsit is proving a slippery customer.
Bangsit postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Nilsen looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Bangsit loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Our spies down at at Kombat Hangar 18 inform us that Nilsen has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?

Nilsen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Bangsit drops back, looking for a kneebar! Nilsen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Nilsen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Nilsen!

Bangsit is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Nilsen is working to tighten his grip on Bangsit's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Bangsit has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Nilsen is really squeezing tight and eventually Bangsit passes out! Nilsen breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!

In his post fight interview, Yacob Nilsen started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
