The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magomedmuslimov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Winn paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Winn tries to counter with a takedown but Magomedmuslimov is quick to defend against it.

Winn scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Winn cracks Magomedmuslimov with a big right hand but Magomedmuslimov just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Magomedmuslimov wants to get back to his feet but Winn drags him back down.
Winn connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Magomedmuslimov some visible discomfort.
Winn takes a little break here. Magomedmuslimov wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Magomedmuslimov really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Winn. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Magomedmuslimov pushes Winn away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Winn gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Winn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
