Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Maia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ian Lock!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Lock sprawls well initially but Maia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lock should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Lock is defending against the submission attempts here by Maia.

Maia is looking for a kimura here.
Lock is looking to get back to full guard here but Maia has managed to pass to side control instead.

Maia tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lock is trying to get back to half guard.

Maia swings around for an armbar but Lock sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Maia's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Maia looking for a guillotine here but Lock defends easily.
Lock works a leg free and moves into half guard.

Lock is working for a kimura but Maia is defending it quite comfortably.

Maia is defending against the submission attempts here by Lock.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Maia wants to improve his position but Lock is controlling well.
Maia is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Blood & Sand that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Maia looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lock trying to control the action but Maia is working from the bottom.
Maia tries to get to full guard but Lock has control of the leg.

Lock maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Maia could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Lock has cracked it and Maia is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Lock!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Ian Lock!
