Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between King Kong (ranked 612 p4p, 10 weight class) and Joey Deertay (ranked 2385 p4p, 91 weight class). Kong comes to the cage accompanied by Moviendo las Caderas. Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Joey Deertay enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the super heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, King Kong!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Joey Deertay!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Deertay tries to clinch but Kong is having none of it.
Kong goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Kong connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Kong lands a leg kick that knocks Deertay off balance momentarily.
Kong misses with a head kick.
Kong throws a half hearted mid kick.
Kong throws a head kick but Deertay moves out of range.
A lazy body kick from Kong

and Deertay counters with a single leg into guard. Kong didn't expect that.

Kong wriggles free and stands up.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kong misses the shot to the body.
Deertay has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Kong keeps Deertay at a distance using the push kick.

Deertay drives through with a takedown into guard.
Deertay throwing strikes from guard but Kong blocks nicely.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Deertay stopping the sweep attempt from Kong.
Kong is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at UnderGround Specialist Academy that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.
Deertay trying to control the position from guard on top but Kong is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Deertay throws a big right hand that misses.
Kong looking to hit a scissor sweep but Deertay is one step ahead there.
Kong manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Deertay manages to get himself to full guard.


Deertay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kong can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Kong is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Deertay has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Kong is looking to defend but Deertay has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Kong! Deertay pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Kong taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Joey Deertay!
