PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mateusz Gamrot (ranked 2906 p4p, 317 weight class) and Stephen Oyalade (ranked 1697 p4p, 194 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mateusz Gamrot!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Stephen Oyalade!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Gregory Folan and Yves DeLean.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gamrot closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Oyalade to the mat! Oyalade manages to get full guard.
Oyalade wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Gamrot manages to pass to side control.

Oyalade pushes Gamrot off looking to stand but Gamrot dives back in and keeps control.

Gamrot is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oyalade doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Gamrot.
Gamrot controlling the pace.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gamrot wants to pass to mount but Oyalade is defending the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Oyalade throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Gamrot is thwarting Oyalade's attempts to control the position.
Oyalade manages to get to full guard.
Gamrot slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Gamrot is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Oyalade is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Gamrot wants to lay and pray for a moment but Oyalade keeps working.
Oyalade is trying to control Gamrot's posture but Gamrot avoids it.
Oyalade looks to move to half guard but instead Gamrot has passed into mount! Damn!

Gamrot jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Oyalade manages to avoid the submission attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
What's Oyalade going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Gamrot lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Oyalade down.

Gamrot is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Oyalade knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Gamrot advances to mount.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Gamrot prevents Oyalade from getting the reversal.
Oyalade is still trying to improve position.

Oyalade throws a strike off his back but Gamrot has locked in an arm triangle as a counter!! Oyalade gives up his back to escape but now Gamrot has transitioned to a rear naked choke! That looks tight - Oyalade has tapped out! This one is all over!
