Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Melek Taus (ranked 193 p4p, 32 weight class) and Andy Bangsit (ranked 133 p4p, 20 weight class). Taus comes to the cage accompanied by A Cry For Vengeance. Melek Taus has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Melek Taus!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 24 - 19 - 2, fighting out of London, Andy Bangsit!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bangsit dives in for a single leg takedown but Taus sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Taus is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Bangsit gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Taus.

Bangsit drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Bangsit is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Taus has escaped the position, nice work there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Taus is trying to improve his position.

Bangsit thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bangsit throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Bangsit wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Taus, who protects the arm well.

Bangsit goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Taus turns into him and now he's in Bangsit's guard.

Bangsit has his foot on Taus's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Taus works his way back into a safe position though.

Our spies down at at London MMA Club inform us that Bangsit has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Taus controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Taus's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Bangsit is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.


Taus is defending against the submission attempts here by Bangsit.
Bangsit has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Bangsit is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Taus doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Bangsit.

Bangsit working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Taus doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Taus manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Taus got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bangsit has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Taus has managed to get both his arms back between Bangsit's legs - danger averted.
Taus seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Melek Taus decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
