Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 11 - 0, fighting out of New York, Masa Wasa!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 27 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jrayden Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wasa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Wasa is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Wasa works his foot free and advances to mount.
Wasa sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Wasa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Johnson can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Johnson is looking to get to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wasa sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Johnson really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Wasa tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Johnson tries to reverse the position but Wasa maintains control.

Wasa looking for a guillotine from mount but Johnson is having none of it.
Johnson is looking to get to half guard.
Wasa controlling his opponent.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wasa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Wasa sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson is trying desperately to improve position.

Wasa working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Johnson turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Wasa off and cradles Johnson's limp body as Wasa celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). Masa Wasa!
After winning the bout, Masa Wasa thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
