PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Handle Bar (ranked 5264 p4p, 532 weight class) and Naizen Kamenashi (ranked 5022 p4p, 522 weight class). Bar comes to the cage accompanied by Handlebars. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Handle Bar!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Naizen Kamenashi!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Alan Glass and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kamenashi clinches up with Bar and pushes him back against the cage.
A right hook to the body lands for Kamenashi.
Bar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Kamenashi gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Bar has Kamenashi pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kamenashi manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Kamenashi stops a takedown attempt from Bar.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Handle Bar. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Bar goes for a takedown attempt but Kamenashi pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Kamenashi moves into the clinch.
Bar is pressed up against the cage. Kamenashi has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Bar down to the mat. Bar avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Kamenashi gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bar scoring with punches to the head and body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bar trying to control but Kamenashi is working from the bottom.

Kamenashi working for a triangle but Bar defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Bar pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kamenashi is keeping the position for now.
Bar controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Bar trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Kamenashi is pulling down on Bar's head. It's preventing any offense from Bar, at least for the moment.
Bar scoring with punches to the head and body.
Bar trying to control the position from guard on top but Kamenashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Bar stays in close to Kamenashi's body and controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Bar lands a couple of digs.
Bar wants to control from the top but Kamenashi keeps moving.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Kamenashi lands a slapping body shot.
Kamenashi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kamenashi wants it to stay on the feet.
Kamenashi scores with a spinning back kick!
Bar tries for a takedown but Kamenashi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Bar has his takedown stuffed
and Kamenashi counters with a three punch combo that has Bar backing up. Bar nods at Kamenashi to acknowledge the strikes.
Bar is breathing heavily.
Bar tries for a takedown but Kamenashi circles away easily
and Kamenashi counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bar is lucky that one didn't land flush.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Kamenashi! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:06 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Naizen Kamenashi!
Naizen Kamenashi is the new light heavyweight champion!
Handle Bar was interviewed post fight and said 'I've relied to much on my highschool wrestling skills, going foward I need to focus on the other areas of my game.'.
