The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rogers changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Oneill tries to avoid it but Rogers manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Oneill to the ground. Oneill escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Rogers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Oneill defends it easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Rogers would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Oneill must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Rogers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Oneill controls the pace.
Oneill looking to sit in guard and control but Rogers gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Oneill. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Let's hope that Oneill has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Wayne Rogers is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rogers tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Oneill smiles and moves away.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Rogers enables Oneill to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Rogers manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Well Oneill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
