The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Villa throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A frustrated look appears on Villa's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Yamamoto breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Yamamoto lands with a nice combination. Villa backs away looking to recover.
Villa really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Villa loads up on a big right hand but Yamamoto slips the punch.
Villa misses with a hook

and Yamamoto counters with a right hand that sends Villa tumbling to the canvas! Can Yamamoto finish him? He dives into Villa's guard looking to do just that!

Villa is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Villa wants to stand up but Yamamoto is controlling him.
Oh Villa is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yamamoto content to stall in guard here.
Yamamoto gets to his feet and stands over Villa, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Villa felt that one! Yamamoto unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Villa from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:47 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kotetsu Yamamoto!
After winning the bout, Kotetsu Yamamoto thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
