Honda Stage Theme Extended as his entrance music. Edmond Honda has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wild Turkey !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 12 - 0, fighting out of New York, Edmond Honda!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Turkey on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Turkey tries to land a leg kick but Honda saw it coming and moves away.
Turkey misses with a two punch combination.
Honda feints the counter takedown.
Nice uppercut lands for Turkey . That snapped Honda's head back.


It looks like Edmond Honda has been cut.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Honda scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Honda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Honda has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Turkey works the jab nicely.
Honda takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Edmond Honda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Turkey tries to move into range but Honda moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Honda takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Turkey lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

Honda shoots in and bounces Turkey off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Honda loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Honda throws a strike but Turkey rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Honda has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Turkey can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Honda has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Turkey should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Honda has tightened it up now! Turkey should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Edmond Honda!
Edmond Honda decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
