The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Daugherty fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Daugherty cracks Shirai with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Daugherty has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Shirai to stand back up!
Shirai's coach down at Wookies Gym was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Shirai's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Daugherty throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Daugherty feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Shirai sprawling to the canvas! Shirai rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Daugherty finish him?!

Shirai is rocked!

Shirai looks to land a right hand but Daugherty moved out of range.
Daugherty lands with a good body shot.
Shirai lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Daugherty circles away quickly and effectively.
It looked like Daugherty wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

A little jabbing left from Shirai on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Shirai seems to have recovered his senses.

Shirai glances at the clock... BAM! Daugherty nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Shirai crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Shirai is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!
